My name is Thea, and I'm a mermaid . . . Siren, Cursed One, Death Bringer, Offering. The titles are endless and none-too-flattering. But another might change everything. Heir.
Six days ago, I died. Bellamy, my handsome Cephalian trainer, brought me back. Now my life is on hold while the Cephalians debate whether to execute me for endangering their people or train my terrible abilities. After a devastating attack on the Cephalians, Bellamy takes drastic measures to protect me.
With our worlds on the brink of war, the Drek-toa — dragon-shifters — searching for a new Emissary, and Blight ravaging those I love, the path forward is darker than ever. I must face that darkness, and the responsibility it brings, or the ocean will run red with blood.
Dezarea is a bonafide Texan, born and raised, currently residing near Fort Worth. When not writing, she can be found crafting, doing renovation projects with her wonderfully indulgent husband, or tackling the endless mountain of laundry that lurks in her bedroom. Her favorite thing in the world is snuggling with her three kids, two cats, and reading a tower of books watching their eyes light up as the characters come to life on the page.
All I can say is wow... Book three in the Blighted Trilogy was just as enchanting as the first two books. The world that Dezarea Dunn has created through these books is truly mesmerizing and I feel privileged to be able to follow these characters as they learn, grow, break and heal. The twists, turns, and developments had me both yelling and cheering. This book is definitely worth the read!
"My heart aches with the hurt inside it, tears stinging my closed eyes. I force myself to adjust my focus, to try to understand the people who hurt me, or at the very least, free myself from their spiteful memories. ....It's my own mental reflection that makes me tremble in effort to forgive, to love. But those broken pieces of myself are not all that I have to offer. I have learned so much, given so much, grown. I'm not the same person who cowered in the face of others' wrath, or who ran from the threat of imprisonment."
Adventure. Finding yourself. A shining star. As you read you can see it play out in your mind like a movie, only better. This book just would not let me put it down. Mrs. Dunn writes her characters so relatable that you just fall in love with them. You feel what they feel and when they get scared your heart races as well. Fans of Breakaway and Breakfall will stay up all night reading what comes next. If you haven't yet read the first too, well what are you waiting for. 5 out of 5 stars
I loved the series. The plot was very interesting, and sucked me in. Now I want to read the story of Caliz and Coral. I also want to hear more about Bellamy and Thea in the future. We also need to know what happened with the council and the hidden agents. So much left in this world unanswered! I did love seeing Bellamy and Thea so happy at the end, but I also feel that was very short with all the other stuff going on after such a build up. 5 stars for the general plot, but 3 stars for the rest of it, so I averaged to 4. Still worth the read for the series and the romance.
I was granted early access to this book. I have really enjoyed the Blighted trilogy, and I'm so happy that I came across this author on tiktok. The Blighted trilogy has such a beautiful world in it. The story broke my heart in places, and made me smile in others. This 3rd book of the trilogy will be officially released today August 2. I look forward to adding it to my physical bookshelf alongside my digital library. I definitely suggest reading this trilogy 🧜♀️🐙
Wicked excited to get an ARC of this last book! And I devoured it! I have been following these books since the beginning. And they are by far my favorite mermaid story.
In this last installment, Thea is on the journey of her life. With new friends made, a dragon in the mix, she’s fighting for more than herself.
Slow burn, ocean mythology, mermaids, sirens, dragons, secrets, friendships, and so much more.
