Awe-inspiring! Two strong women stand up to the patriarchy. Alex and Zoe are kindred spirits ... it’s not about profit, it’s about the survival of community. Giving back for the enhancement of society was their altruistic goal. The journey to Sweden was remarkable. Nature at its most beautiful and serene. Nature at its most treacherous and devastating. The concept of creating communities that embrace each other’s differences and live in harmony. What a profound resolution to 2020’s debacle!!! A very good lesbian romance read and I enthusiastically and unequivocally recommend this lesbian book and any others by this author. Her style is riveting. Patricia L. Vander Kamp
and Ruby did it again! 😍 This lesbian romance book is a ”New Ruby Level Unlocked” this book for me marks a difference! I have been following Ruby’s work since book #1 and let me tell you she is so talented! Now focusing on the good things about the book/sapphic novel -I must say ”just give it a try” the book touches so many fibers, the way the story between the MC develop is sublime, it's a cute, strong, romantic story with of course that spiciness and connection between the MC that Ruby adds to her books. Two hours reading that I know for sure you won’t regret. Pattz
Evergreen- a perfect festive feast for cold winter nights. An age gap lesbian romance love story set in the USA and Sweden. I loved the two warm characters Alex and Zoe, especially Zoe’s enthusiasm. Super seamless story, picture perfect in a beautiful setting. Well written by Ruby Scott Woody
Engaging and well written! This is a new author for me, and now I'm a fan. It's the 1st book in this genre that I've seen about post COVID, which interested me in itself. It's a solid, well written story that just drew me in and kept me engaged. I'll be looking for more lesbian books from this author. Amy Starr
Loved it! This story is about Alex and Zoe and is set in Sweden! The MCs are so likable and their chemistry is so hot they melt the snow! Sharon P
**'Writing a book is actually searching for a cause.Just tell it straight and don't fool around with it because the storytelling eventually uncovers the casualties..'
This is the first I’ve read from Scott and she has some talent, but this one fell flat to me. I didn’t see the chemistry or an emotional connection between the two main characters.
I had to stop reading when Zoe had sex with Brea I'm a monogamist even on my reading, so I really don't want to read sex scenes between one MC and other women SPECIALLY when there's more than one scene
I love erotic romance, but I need the hot moments being between the MC's, so I drop it

Alex can't help but be drawn to Zoe's enthusiasm for building something that will make a difference. Zoe is instantly attracted to Alex. She finds her beautiful, confident and intelligent. I found the author's view of the future and how things changed after the pandemic fascinating. The trip to Sweden was lovely as well.
I enjoyed the story, but I was confused by some things until they got to Sweden. Then it was easy for me to follow. I could just enjoy their thoughts and careers and burgeoning attraction. That was cute. It was unusual to have such a profit-oriented character in ff romance, so that was interesting.
This one intrigued and confused me. The blurb hooked me. 2045, Winter, Sweden, sustainable community housing, post-Covid affects many years later...interesting premise for sure. The age gap between Alex and Zoe is about 15 years or so, and I totally felt their chemistry. Their emotional connection? Not so much.
I actually found it quite unique that there was some really hot sex early on with a hook-up friend. Usually in lesfic we gotta wait til the 80% mark for some sweat under the collar, so this was fun! Unsure why it had to happen twice, when this character is never heard from again, so I just chalked it up to adding sex for the sake of adding sex. Nothing wrong with that. I loved the Swedish setting and the community that Alex helped build. However where the story lost points was towards the end. A lot happens in just a few pages then its done. There is no epilogue, no "2 years later" to find out what happened with the theatre build, or even a tie up with Zoe's asshole boss. Many loose ends that we don't get tied up, and I felt unsatisfied. I logged on to GR today hoping this was a series, but nope. So I feel comfortable with my solid 3/5, but look forward to more reads by this author.
I love me some environmental discussion add some queer and well, success. So I liked it a lot and of course, steamy. oh la la la la
But I think there was a bit of disconnection from before and after they got together. I mean, once they go for it their chemistry is very much there, I didn't doubt it, but before it I don't think there was much being translated in the pages related to them being into each other, so it may give a bit of 'out of the blue' vibe. However, I don't think it was enough to make a bad reading. I'd still go for it if I new it beforehand. And honestly, I'd love to read more about these two as a couple and their projects.
Because in the end it was an interesting reading, I really liked the idea of visiting the world post Covid. Though, I felt a bit weird with characters older than me that RIGHT NOW are younger, so it was a sort of trip too hahaha
Set in the future, in 2045, this book embodies the yearning for connection in a post-Covid world, the aftermath of those who abused their positions of power and a sustainable environment for generations to come. One couldn’t really ask for a more apt read in today’s climate!
Yet alongside all of that, Ruby does what she does best; introduces us to wonderful characters that you cant help but love! The MCs are delicious but the side characters are equally fantastic! The plot is well developed and even though it’s a short read, the slow burn and dollop of spice hits all the right spots.
Really enjoyable read, just sad it’s ended! Would love to see a follow-up at some point, I want to see these MCs working together on their projects and how they navigate their newly formed relationship! It’s the sign of a great read though, isn’t it; always left wanting just a little more…
I keep alternating between 3 and 4 stars for this book. I loved the world that was set up, but I knew it was going to be a shorter read, and for me to make a romance work in those short pages attraction needs to be there from the start. For a short read, there is a lot of plot in this book, which is amazing (I love plot heavy books), but this was marketed as a romance, and the romance part fell short. I'm definitely interested in the world created, in the conspiracies that are running in the background that need to be tested and look forward to reading the next book in the series, but the romance side fell short. Definitely felt more insta-love that happened about 3/4 of the way through the book, and insta-love is not a trope I particularly care for.

3 stars. I love Ruby Scott’s writing. I’ve read some fantastic stuff from her but this wasn’t one of them unfortunately. The plot was intriguing but man everything was so unnecessarily convoluted. I did like Alex and Zoe they had great sexual tension and chemistry but I didn’t buy into their romance because something was missing for me. Alex was my favorite character of the two because she’s an Ice Queen and that character type will always be my weakness. But yeah, this one just didn’t work for me like I was wanting it to. It felt like it was trying to do too much and nothing ended up getting fleshed out.
The story revolves around an award winning architect who believes in sustainability and community when designing living spaces. The company executive who wants her to create that with a new project believes community is important for people; based on her solitary life during the COVID pandemic. With that in the background, two very work-driven women find themselves falling in love. I enjoyed the story, the intrigue, the winter weather, the community coming together during danger.
Love that part of the story takes place in Scandinavia. I have been there and it is a marvelous place. The story had an interesting premise and made me want it to be real now. We could definitely use a sensible way to live with a better way to treat people and the environment.
I really enjoyed this story! Both Zoe and Alex are very likeable women who have the good luck to meet. There are some editing issues with the text but not enough to really detract from the overall story. Good story!

Loved this story, great characters flowing story line what more can you ask. Never read this author but off to see if there are more book. I hope so.it's three in the morning I read it from start to finish. Highly recommend.🌻
This book is set in a future date post Covid. I was drawn in by MCs, Alex and Zoe, chemistry despite their age gap. The location setting is mainly Sweden who doesn't like snow, log fires, community, sense of purpose and belonging. This is the first book I have read from Ruby Scott and it defiantly is not my last, fingers crossed for a follow up.
Under 200 pages doesn't seem like much, but the two main characters grew close to my heart. Alex with her 50 years and her vision in 2045 for good life and the young architect Zoe, who has innovative ideas and is hired by Alex for the transformation of the old theater.
When Alex's vision becomes a reality, I can look to the future with hope.
Who reads for bingo, it fits the categories free book, age-gap favorite trope, disaster (big change after Covid is mentioned), maybe unusual job, for unicorn bingo: over 50 years one of the MC.
