It's the distant future. The earth is scourged by nuclear warfare and natural resources have become scarce. Survival
Arid is focused on a distant future about post-apocalyptic circumstances. A group called the Purifiers are dangerous people and seek after indigents who are people that can't afford water. They are forced out of town and their belongings are taken. Danisha experienced loss of her parents due to these Purifiers. There is something more that makes this story not suitable for everyone which I wasn't expecting. There are Purifiers who live in the Wastelands where there is a lack of food. Joshua Wyman and his group find themselves faced with the Purifiers. There is a positive end to this story which actually leaves it open for another. There is also swearing in this book. There is danger and there is sadness too.

So good!
This story was very well written. I was enthralled from beginning to end. This is definitely a read for someone that loves post-apocalyptic stories. It's still creepy how close it could be to this now...
