It definitely has some good insights and seems more connected to the research, but I think it lacks any critical examination of class effects a workplace. There are some elements that I liked, but it is still stuck in a neo-liberal-make-you-and-your-company-more-profitable paradigm.

Overly simplistic. Maybe better in a format other than audio.

The Brain Friendly Workplace by Friederike Faritius unveils fascinating insights into our workplaces, family life and, most importantly, ourselves. Not only will you learn simple steps which can be taken to retain and engage talented people, you will also walk away with a deeper understanding of what it takes to reach personal peak performance.

In particular this book will change the way you think about how to build true diversity in the workplace and why it is consistently proven to increase performance. For decades we believed that simply hitting gender quotas and providing gender based training would somehow fix imbalances. Despite years of failure in these outdated methods nobody, until now, has provided a science based solution on how we might turn it around. The recommended steps are surprisingly simple.

I can’t imagine that there is anyone who would not benefit from Friederike’s thoughtful explanation of neuroscience, real-life examples and the insightful interviews with iconic and fascinating corporate personalities on this pivotal topic.

It was a pleasure to read another eyeopening and gripping book from Friederike. Highly recommend reading for all.

This is one of my favorite non-fiction books ever!

Friederike's book on improving the workplace offers a wide swath of practical and insightful advice for the modern office.

Using "Fun, Fear, and Focus," "Good Stress," and "Outcome Culture," Fabritius applies these factors to influence individual and organizational mindsets. A four-day workweek, shorter meetings, even a simple cold shower all play a part for successful change.

Infusing scientific facts with real-life stories and interviews with world-renowned figures, The Brain Friendly Workplace is a quick and interesting read to inspire leaders, motivate employees, and change work culture - and your attitude - for the better!

In "The Brain-Friendly Workplace: Why Talented People Quit and How to Get Them to Stay," Friederike Fabritius, a neuroscientist, explores the factors that drive talented employees to leave their organizations and presents practical solutions to create work environments that foster talent retention and employee satisfaction.

Her findings are grouped into Safety and Trust, Reward and Motivation, Emotional Intelligence, Social Connectivity, and Focus and Attention.

Underlying the commonsense recommendations, Fabritius emphasizes the understanding that the unique individual neuro signature will help managers. Every branch of science, including neuroscience, reinforces that everyone is inherently diverse and represents uniqueness. A company’s enhanced ability to adapt and accommodate those differences can fuel greater productivity and outcomes, argues the author.

As management or science goes, this book is not rocket science. It’s written for a general audience and reinforces the common sense practices in circulation today.

I found this book not only really interesting, but very easy to read and hopefully very easy to adapt to the current workplace (let's keep hope alive!). Organizations need to remember they deal with different kind of people and that they need to consider their individual needs, goals and thoughts when defining a good strategy.

Knowing that Friederike is also an introvert who can switch to speaking in public easily (as proved by her many videos), I enjoyed the book even more... even feeling a bit uneasy when she basically had an impromptu meeting with someone wearing her bathrobe!

This is truly a topical read. Today's workplace just isn't working for a lot of people. People are leaving their workplaces in droves after the pandemic. Could the key to improving the workplace be neuroscience? Friederike Fabritius thinks so. She has written an easy to read book about brain types and how to make sure that employees with different brain types have what they need. I'm not a science major and I found it easy to understand and it made perfect sense.

This Wall Street Journal bestseller is a must for executives!

This book needs to be a must standard for every executive. Fabritius uses neuroscience based findings and transfers them perfectly in practical usage. If company’s employ the main elements from the book they would probably have more motivated and satisfied people with less burnouts and overall more recharged and powerful employees. Try it out !

Not everyone is created equal and each person has a different neurotype (as author coins). Author details the tendencies of each neurotype and how workplaces and attitudes can be adjusted to bring the best out of each person. Author also correctly points out that each of us are not just one neurotype. We are blends of more than one and a combination of different approaches are required to bring the best out of everyone.

“The Brain-Friendly Workplace: Why Talented People Quit and How to Get Them to Stay”
by Friederike Fabritius is a must have for all leaders wanting teams that thrive, create and innovate!

The book is based on extensive research, made by Friederike herself, as well as other scientists and is therefore an amazing collection of leadership science bundled up and presented in one book. While that might sound tedious to some, don’t worry, this is a fun book that is really easy to read. I actually laughed out loud several times. 😁

The author succeeds in her effort to present the information in a brain-friendly way, that is, to make sure we as readers, not only understand, but also remember it.
To ensure that this is not a book that is placed on a shelf after reading, the book is filled with practical tips on what to do and how to do it in a wide range of situations that leaders are faced with. Tips that are easy to understand, and easy to implement.

It is clear that Friederike has great knowledge in the subject, and shares not only her own thoughts, but also those of several other leaders in high positions in the interview section at the end of each chapter.

This goes to my list of my favourite leadership books and I truly recommend it to all leaders wanting to create a work environment where people are happy and therefore produce more efficiently. 💫

There's a lot of referencing to upcoming sections in each chapter so, which seemed a little much to point it out so many times. Skipped all the interviews after each chapter (except the first two, but they kind of summed up each character point to real life examples), but an overall pretty easy read. Not entirely sure how the subtitle relates, but I also slightly breezed through reading this so I may have missed the point.
