The Devil's Game literally has the best of everything we want in dark romance.🤤 ALL the cult vibes, violence AND...the sex is freaking FIRE. There's lots of it, too! (Includes mm, ff and mfm).Ruby is THE BEST kind of MFC. She's been through a lot, but it's only pushed her to be better and stronger. So excited for the next book in this series.🖤🖤

“Is your first instinct always to fight?” I don’t respond immediately but I do think of how to answer his question. I can’t remember a time in my life where I wasn’t fighting for something. I’ve had to fight my whole life just to survive and it wouldn’t make sense for me to have it easy now. Having it easy isn’t something that actually happens to me, it's just what my dreams are made of.“

Shut the front door!
If I didn’t win a gift card from this author, I woulda never discovered her. I’m so glad I did and started to read her book, The Devils Game.

The Devil being Preston AKA Daddy.
He’s a cult/gang leader who recruits younger kids to do his dirty work in exchange for a better life and “family”.

Y’all. This book is dirty. Like good dirty. I’m talking MFM, MM, FF.
Incest (half siblings/blowjob)
Murder and fucking drama.

At first this book is a little hard to follow with the diverse POVs and it goes to the past and present, jumping 10 years. But don’t give up. It all comes together quite well.

This is a full length novel but I feel like it’s still a prequel because you still don’t have any idea what the purpose of Prestons “family” is. I’m really dying to know more about this character.

You mainly follow Ruby in the book. She’s got a shit ton of issues but never underestimate a female with nothing to lose. She’s brutal and a natural for this life she accidentally got herself entangled in.

I can’t wait for this book to go live in a paperback because I need it ASAP. And I’m completely looking forward to the second book!

Arc Review of The Devil’s Game
5/5 stars but it deserves 100.
This book is PHENOMENAL and I am shookkkkk because this did not go where i was thinking it would and i love that.
I cannot believe this is KB’s first book because the writing just enthralls you and i seriously couldnt put it down-im already itching for book two...
One of the things i love about the characters is that there are multiple POV's. You don’t get that very often & I love that this book does-I love getting in their heads and seeing why they are the way they are.
You know a book is beyond exceptional when you wish the characters were actually real & you feel for them so hard.
But, per usual, i dont wanna give too much way.. but i just wanna say this is one of the best books i have ever read and i am blown away.

K.B. Saint's Debut Novel

This debut novel of the author sets us into a world of gang life. Preston is the founder and leader of the King Hollow Saints and collects people in order to utilize their natural skills or to forge them into weapons of his choosing. Ruby gets caught in a unsavory situation and her only choice is to accept help from the Devil and to play The Devil's Game.

Preston's band of heathens also includes cousins Hollis and Elijah, siblings Nicholai and Salem, and then Messiah. Messiah is someone from Ruby's past and things did not end well.

Along the way of this story Ruby has to confront her childhood trauma and also learn what it means to be a part of a "family" and that there is no black and white. Only shades of Grey.

This novel ends on a cliffhanger and book 2 of the Rhodes to Hell Series should be just as promising if the author keeps this momentum going.

The fact that this was a debut for this author (at least published), amazed me. The writing was fluid and sucked you in each page, making finding a stopping point nearly impossible.

Gang life personified, TDG introduces Preston, Ruby, Hollis, Elijah, Nicholai and Salem. (Team Preston over here, but it's fine).

This book was deliciously dirty and sexy, while being rough and murder-y (it's a word, okay?). I don't remember if there was a trigger warning in the beginning, as I don't tend to read them anyway, but if there is...heed the warning, but go into it with an open mind.
I, for one, went into this blind. I never read the blurb, as I wanted 0 expectations. Though, I can say with confidence that had I read it beforehand, my expectations would have been shattered.

I cannot wait for book 2, as the Rhodes to Hell series just got all the more intriguing.

This book was not at all what I was expecting. There is so much going on, sometimes it's hard to keep up. But that's probably because everyone in the house wants to talk to me as soon as I sit down and read. If you sent want a million questions when you gasp or cry or cheer, I suggest sending the family out for the day without you so you can "door the floors and have them stay clean longer than five minutes". Then hold on tight, because it is bumpy, and messy, and sometimes questionable, but it is so exciting and so well written, you will be sad when it's over. Thankfully for me, book #2 is already waiting for me on my kindle. :)

THIS BOOK. It delivers everything a dark romance should. I’m not gonna lie there were moments I was like... what is happening & am I okay with it? Honestly I couldn’t put this book down. It’s dark, spicy, sexual, violent & intense. I was looking for something to push me outside of my comfort zone and this did just that! There is so much plot to this book that I didn’t feel the writing was forced or didn’t make sense. The story flows so well that you can’t help but get so obsessed with these characters! I cannot wait for the next book in the series to be released. If you like dark romance YOU NEED THIS BOOK!

The Devil's Game, debut novel by K.B Saint is a dark romance story with very cult-like vibes. Told in the POV of three characters Ruby, Messiah, and Hollis, this story bounces from past to present scenes, explaining the links between Ruby and Messiah and how they came to be in their present positions.
In this story, Preston is the leader. He recruits young, broken kids to do his dirty work, while also helping to build them up and give them a sense of family. His tactics may not be kosher, but there's a method to his madness.
Ruby is the heroine in this story and is put in a position where she must choose either to face the consequences of her actions head-on and alone, or have the back-up of a so-called "family." Having lost her best friend and Grandmother in her teens, it's been a decade since Ruby has had anything resembling a family. But in order to be a part of this, there are tests that she must pass. Being in this family, she comes face to face with Messiah, a boy from her past who still blames her for the death of his sister. Ruby also meets Hollis, a cold-hearted ruthless killer, who has never shown or felt any kind of emotions for anyone. While Ruby is being fed, housed and getting to know these people, when an order is given, she must obey it and it makes you wonder what Ruby has really signed herself up for.
Hollis and Messiah have lived this life for a long time. They both have darkness inside of where inflicting pain on others gives them satisfaction. But when Ruby joins the family, not only do their protective instincts surface, but their past and present collide. Will it ruin the bond they've already created with Ruby?
This was a good read and great debut novel from K.B Saint but with the cliffhanger ending, I'm ready for the next installment.

I can honestly say I don't often see such well-crafted debuts. I was lucky enough to be gifted this novel by KB, and I've read it a couple times already. While there were a few storytelling devices that seemed a little clunky to me, the overall larger arc was very satisfying.

We get this story from three main points of view: Ruby, Messiah, and Hollis. This approach is a bit risky, mostly because it can stunt character development some. I'm glad there is a second book to hopefully give us more insight into the bigger purpose in the new group Ruby befriends. The leader of this group, Preston, is fairly shrouded in mystery. At first, the amount of characters introduced was a lot, but I feel the overall role of the people we see, especially within Preston's group, will become more apparent in book two of this series. The two characters I did struggle with the most are some older friends of Ruby's, Tasha and Lucky. They somewhat had a purpose, but then again, I feel like the story could have moved along without them, much how I feel about their purpose in Ruby's life. While there is a few shifts back and forth in time, KB generally does a good job of creating a natural flow between the shifts.

The steam of this book was DIRTY, and I'm here for it, friends! In general, most of the sex scenes weren't overly graphic when compared to a typical contemporary romance, but the situations and partners require a pretty open mind.

If you're looking for more than a cookie-cutter, dark romance, I'd strongly recommend trying out KB and this story!

Character development: 3/5
Dark elements: 4/5
Steamy scenes: 4/5
Overall storyline: 4/5
Triggers: Definitely

Unique, Gritty, and Steamy 🔥

K.B. Saint’s writing far surpassed what I expected and find in the usual debut writer. She didn’t shy away from topics and thoroughly broke the mold— so naturally and effortlessly! The topics and story progressed at a pace and in a way that didn’t make me feel as if she threw it in there because that was “what the readers want”.

This book was multiple POV, which is a long standing favorite of mine! Saint does a great job of bringing the reader into the diverse personalities and making you feel a part of the story. I loved each of their individual growing relationships and interactions with Ruby. They had such an intriguing complexity and constant draw to know more.

I am absolutely drawn to the FMC, Ruby. She is damaged, and has been through SO much shit in her life, but allowed her situations to mold her into someone stronger and harder rather than allow it to break her down. I loved watching her progression in this book and I can’t wait to see what story will be weaved to allow for growth.

Lastly, THAT. SEX. SCENE. Yes, if you’ve read it you know exactly which one I’m talking about 😏 It was scorching. Freaking HOTTT🔥🥵 Color me impressed because there wasn’t a single part during that scene that took me out of it or distracted me from the dirty goodness she gave us!

I immediately preordered book two, I can’t wait to see where this story goes and to see the growth within K.B.’s writing as she continues to weave us stories!😍

This is such and amazing and unexpected debut novel. KB Saint takes you on a wild ride. If i didn't know beforehand i wouldn't believe it was her debut. She has such talent and the way she can weave a complicated, intertwined, crazy,, interesting story and world together just proves how amazing she is. Can NOT wait for the next one.
The Devils Game takes you into the tragic life of Ruby and how she gets involved with her ex boyfriends gang.
Ruby has suffered so much loss and tragedy in her life. She has two close friends in her adult life and works the front desk at an apartment building. Which is how she meets Hollis.
Ruby is a brave, take no shit, smart mouthed, independent woman. She doesn't feel fear or she doesn't show it. She doesn't care who you are or what your title is either.
Ruby goes to a bar with her 2 friends Hollis ends up at same bar later. Chaos ensues with her friends boyfriend. Talk of what went down is spreading. Hollis takes Ruby to the gang's compound. This is how she ends up meeting everyone and being offered an opportunity that will change her life.
This book had me sucked right in. I loved the flashbacks that helped piece together the puzzle that is Ruby. The flashbacks helped showcase who she is and why she is the way that she is. I also really enjoyed the multiple POV to get an idea of several characters thoughts and emotions.
This was packed with action, steam, angst, and so much more. This series promises to be amazing and so far KB is DELIVERING!

I'll start by saying this, I was not expecting a debut novel to be as good as this. I couldn't put my kindle down, and when I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it.

And HOLY HOTNESS...

I went into this blind and was not expecting all the hotness and action that this book provided.

Ruby has spent her entire life fighting and in survival mode. She's suffered. She's strong, resilient and hard. After getting caught up in a situation she never thought she would find herself in, her life completely changes, but is it for the better?

One minute she's on her own with only her two friends to call family. The next she's in a compound with some very sinister characters, making a deal with the Devil himself.

This story is action packed and keeps you gripped throughout, but can we please talk about the sex scenes.... OH>MY
Daddy Preston is MINE FYI.

*Be warned there are triggers* - there is also some hot AF FF, MFM, MM.

Why haven't you one clicked yet?

Hats off to K.B Saint, you little gem. I can't wait for the next book.

The Devil’s Game is the first book in the Rhodes to Hell Series and is the debut book of K.B. Saint. This story was one hell of a roller coaster ride that I never wanted to get off. It had the perfect amount of intensity, danger, mystery, hilarity, hot sex and smoking hot men that you would sell your soul to be with.

I absolutely loved Ruby because she added so much personality to the story. She was strong, smart mouthed, brave and she never backed down. My favourite male character is Nicholai because there is something about him that makes me gravitate towards him. I’d love to know more about Preston because I find him to be intriguing and I’d also like to know more of his backstory.

This was an interesting story with intense, intriguing and complex characters that will leave you wanting more. I really can’t wait until I can read the next book because I need to know what happens.

I recieved an advanced copy for free, and this is my honest opinion.

Interesting concept

The concept of the book is interesting. It’s not a story I’ve read before, which I like, but it’s a bit flawed in its detail. It feels a bit disjointed overall. There were grammar and phrasing issues; that really bugs me in a good book. It has potential, but is a little flat. It didn’t rope me in entirely. I’m not sure what the endgame of this “family” is. It seemed like they were setting up the antagonist for some kind of fall, but then your protagonist comes back essentially brainwashed and it’s not explained. Like I said, there’s potential, but it didn’t rope me in. While I would read the next book, I won’t be salivating waiting for it. I know this is a first novel for this author, and overall I liked what was put together.

Great writing

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5
It’s hard to believe this is a first release, the writing style is amazing. Cons: a bit confusing with the time jumps at first. Pros: everything else. We have a couple of hard headed alphas in Preston, Hollis, Elijah, Messiah and Nicholai; and a strong badass heroine in Ruby who can stand her own ground. I feel like sometimes when authors try to make their h’s headstrong instead of the meek quiet one it’s very easy to suddenly hate the h when it feels so forced. I found myself really loving Ruby’s character.
The story involves murder, cult-like vibes, drugs, and some steammmyyy scenes. Cliffhanger at the end but the second book was released today.

So much going on

This book has so much going on that you don't want to put it down. You have Ruby who is first introduced as a receptionist at Hollis' building, but she is intertwined in the story so much earlier. The story goes back and forth between the present and the past that's how you know that she was intertwined with Elijiha and Hollis when she was younger because her boyfriend at the time wanted to meet them.
She had a hard life and is bold, sassy and isn't afraid to back down from a fight, which is what gets her on Hollis radar and then the gang's radar. There is some BDSM, MM, FF and MFM scenes in this book. I'm looking forward to the next book because this one ended on a cliffhanger.

Wow! I just read and I'm already jonesing for my next fix. So far I'm following the journey of Ruby, who is a 25 years old,who has only ever had a life filled with copious amounts of loss and suffering, as she is introduced to a group of gangster hotties ( Hollis , Massiah, Elijah, and Niccholia) and is initiated in by the leader and devil himself aka Preston. I'm having some serious doubts about Preston where his interests and agendas lie but time will reveal his cards i suppose. I need the second book like air at this point cause the point where this one left off at, is seriously not ok . Loving this author so much. Epic read!

The Devil's Game has so much potential to be an amazing book but unfortunately it did not hit the mark for me. There were areas that felt rushed, parts that made no sense and I struggled to find any connection or chemistry between the characters. It lacked in Character development as well as the character relationships. There was just no chemistry or sexual tension and I found myself finding holes in the story line.

I really enjoyed the concept and like I said, there is definitely potential! I can 100% see some great books coming from this Author in the future.

Prestons family

Damn for a first release this was fantastic!! Even with a few minor grammar errors it doesn’t take away the story!! I seriously can’t wait to see what the next book entails! I don’t want to give too much away so it’s hard for me to put into detail about everything that I just read! If you like a badass h, with quite a few H hotties, with a touch of angst and plenty of badassary!! This is the one to jump into!!

As much as I wanted to enjoy this one, there just wasn’t much happening overall. I’m definitely more geared towards books that are 350 pages plus because it just gives the story time to brew. I felt like I just started it then it was over haha. I really enjoyed the h, hopefully I can find someone else with her take no bullshit attitude 😁 A very easy read but still only average which is why its just three stars (and one of those scenes was due to the sex scenes alone) 😅

this book blew me away!!

i went into this book completely blind, i had not a single clue what this book was about, had never read a review on it or nothing.

but this story captured me!

Ruby has had a rough life…
Messiah had a rough life…
Hell they all had rough lives…

this book is multiple POV, but it’s like getting 5 stories in 1 and it really makes the book to get everyone’s perspective. it also goes back and forth between past and present so you can understand their stories more

there was many spicy scenes in this one but the ones that are were 💯, they are dark as well

This should’ve been DNF. I kept thinking it was going to go somewhere. Strong beginning then gets lost on the middle and becomes anticlimactic. Liked a couple of the characters but this one wasn’t for me at all. Ended up just finishing it to finish it. Also didn’t like the three person point of view - sorry I had to go back to the beginning of the chapter to see which character it was.
