Once upon a time I met four monsters and thought the world would come to an end at their hands.
But I was a fool.
Because I didn’t understand the bigger picture.
That the enemies I thought I knew would become the reason for my entire existence.
My strength. My pain. My life. My love.
The big bad wolf has teeth and claws as sharp as iron, and the danger before my eyes is blinding. So blinding that I didn’t see the true danger lurking in the dark. But now my eyes are wide open and I see it all.
Alone and afraid and running out of time, I’m not afraid of monsters anymore. I’m counting on them to come for me. Because if they don’t, this foolish girl might be lost forever in the dark.

" In years to come, people would look back on this time of wearing masks and social distancing, of missing people and enduring lockdowns, of the fear of the virus and the hope for an end to it and no doubt there would be a lot of mixed emotions about what we'd survived. But wasn't that the point? We HAD survived. And that was all that mattered."
I had a lot of fun with this series. The setting being in a pandemic gave me so many flashbacks of the good and the bad from those times.
Tatum Rivers is probably one of the best FMC's I have read from the sister's so far. She is a fierce, and fiery and never one to wait around for any dude to save her even though she has four big bad boyfriends! Girl takes care of herself and more then once is actually the one saving them!
This series really belongs to Kyan Roscoe, he is the Ryder Draconis of this universe! He just has so much heart and is so savage about loving his girl and his found family. We were continually swooning over him throughout all the books that is when he wasn't making us laugh bc he's also super funny.
Blake is our Golden Boy!! He's our perfect baby and can do no wrong! He's charming, sexy, and I LOVE him! I actually wish he had a bigger part in the last two books, he kind of got sidelined a bit but I still ate up everything he gave!
Nash was just a great comforting character and it was so cute how he became one of the group. Not at all close to Lance Orion, but also NO ONE will ever come close anyway so he never had a chance but I still liked him.
Saint- I stand in solidarity with my SS Cecelia in our eternal hate for him! No magic writing from the sisters could ever redeem him for us!
Thx to my SS for all the laughs and Kyan and Blake will always be our boys! 😍😍😍
Genre: contemporary romance, RH Trigger Warnings: violence, death, explicit sex scenes, vulgar language Tropes: RH, lockdown, reverse harem, revenge quest Series: Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep #4 Cliffhanger: No Spice: 5/5 🌶 Rating: 5 ⭐
“We have a bet on,” Blake murmured. “I guessed he’s taking us to sacrifice a goat to Satan and open up a doorway to hell.” Kyan stepped to my side. “Naw, my bet is we’re going to some underground African ceremony where Saint can make sure you’re married to all of us. Which I will totally fight by the way, baby.”
I've finished this book a few days ago, but it took me a while to gather my thoughts and write a review that would do it justice. Because this last installment was amazing and, the sisters may have a wicked desire to leave us hanging with all those cliffhangers, but they surely know how to wrap up a series and make the ending bitter sweet and the goodbyes difficult but kind of satisfying at the same time.
》》The Plot《《
Well, if the previous book lacked a lot of excitement and it was more about letting relationships have roots and a development, here there was a lot going on. Starting with the boys who had to rescue Tatum from Saint’s father's clutches (or well, super wicked laboratory), to them having to figure out what to do with the stolen vaccines, where to hide and how to bring down Royaume D’élite, destroy Troy Memphis, sever Kyan's ties to his controlling family and put an end to the pandemic, there was definitely a lot of action and plenty of stuff going on.
"We need to focus on the most important tasks at hand." "Which are?" Monroe asked. "My father's demise. Royaume D’élite. Kyan's family. The Justice Ninja. Our futures."
As usual, the POVs were shared between the boys and Tatum and we also had a chapter from Troy Memphis' perspective (and let me tell you, it was a very satisfying chapter, you'll see).
"You're such a psycho. I’ve heard all about the Harlequin Crew, they’re a bunch of lawless savages, suspected of putting more bodies in the ocean than the police can keep track of."
The ending was bitter sweet. It was beautifully written and with a lot of attention, but I know for certain I'm going to miss these characters. I loved that it sort of set the scene for the Harlequin Crew series and for the spinoff series about Kyan's uncle, Niall. If they were complete series, I would probably be all over them right now but, knowing what sort of cliffhangers the sisters pull and being a total fangirl who devours books super quickly, I've decided to wait a little while longer before starting the spin-offs.
》》Characters and Relationships《《
🧑🏽👩🏼Kyan and Tatum
“I don’t pity you, Tatum, I fucking worship you. Your pain makes me want to sin, but your strength makes me want to repent. I’m a demon trying to grow wings by standing in the blinding light of you.” “I don’t want wings from you.” I wrapped my hands around him, scoring my thumbs over his shoulder blades. “I love you just as you are. Every sharp claw, every dark shadow on your heart, and all the sweetness in between that “Why do you love me?” he asked in a boyish voice that made my heart shatter. “Because your soul is made to fit mine. I love you with all I am and all I will ever be, Kyan. And I’ll spend every day at your side making you see why you’re worthy of everything the world has to give.” “Even you?” “Especially me.”
Kyan was my favorite from the start and I'm happy to say he didn't disappoint me at all throughout this series. I loved their relationship and I really think they were the ones that had the most fun but also the most visible connection. I feel like they had a lot in common and I was happy with all their alone moments. Not to mention that their love declaration, even if it wasn’t for the first time they've exchanged "I love you"-s, was by far my favorite. They literally were everything for me. I loved their text messages, funny, cute and sexy at the same time, their trust in each other and their everythingship.
"Koala: I cannnnnnn’t *angry face emoji*. He wants to take me up to pride rock and show me the lay of the land like Mufasa did to Simba. If I don’t blow my brains out from boredom, I’ll come eat you out later.
Tigress: This message is to confirm your dinner reservations at Pussy de la Wife. Please don’t arrive late or your table may be given to one of the three hot guys on the waiting list."
... and, I guess, I just loved their love. I simply don't think there was anything Kyan could have done to be more perfect than he already was, or a more obvious fit for Tatum than he was portrayed.
“Don’t go getting any ideas about me being a hero, baby.” I smirked, his touch sending tremors deep into the centre of my being. “I know exactly what you are, husband.” “And what’s that, wife?” "You’re mine.”
I can see why people loved him and him and Tatum together. It just had all the right ingredients, you know... sugar, spice and everything nice.
🤵🏾👩🏼Saint and Tatum
“Are you going to start this day with a punishment?” “You’re not the boss of me anymore, devil boy.” “I may worship at your altar daily, but I assure you I am more than capable of putting a goddess in her place when the occasion calls.” “Stop flirting,” Kyan called. “Let’s go.”
Special appreciation for the way Saint has developed as a character and for the way he went from a despicable, control obsessed smug asshole to a ... well... he's totally still control obsessed but he's not so despicable anymore.
"I love you, Tatum Rivers. I didn't think I could even feel something like the things I feel for you. I didn't think there was enough good in me for it. And my love isn't something light and freeing, its obsessive and toxic, controlling and insatiable. But I feel it all for you.” "I love you too, Saint," she breathed. "You may be the worst person I've ever gone up against but you're also one of the best. I feel alive when I'm with you in the most incredible of ways and I just want it to go on and on and never end.”
His relationship with Tatum was one of those slow burn romances that drained me, but oh my sweet, when it finally happened it felt really good and satisfying. I was omg-ing my way through the scene when Saint finally claimed Tatum as his as well and, something I found surprising was the easy way Saint accepted to share Tatum and how he constantly referred to her as 'our' girl and not 'my' girl.
"...Tatum added conversationally, running her hand down Saint's arm and looking at him like he was the reason the sun rose in the mornings, while he stared back at her like she was the reason it existed at all."
It's easy to see why the fandom loves him, because the changes in him were fenomenal and in this book he did have a lot of shining moments, some of them unexpectedly romantic or utterly, totally, definitely, 100% Saint, with pitch perfect plans and calculated risks.
"Does my pain call to you? Or am I just lucky that you always appear whenever I'm most in need of your company?" I asked her and she leaned in a little closer, placing a kiss against the side of my neck which made the hairs rise along my spine. "You call to me, Saint."
Their entire relationship was intense and burning, but I liked their dynamic and how Saint's controlling behavior turned to good use for the spice time. He was also a character with a lot of layers and that meant that his relationship with Tatum also had a lot of depth.
🧑🏼👩🏼Monroe and Tatum
They were sweet and nice and all that, but I really feel like their relationship was the most uneventful. After their big breakthrough, they had it pretty smoothly and it wasn't difficult to accept and enjoy them being an item. Unfortunately, that also means that there wasn't a lot of time focused on them and it became really easy to allow Kyan and Saint to steal the thunder.
"It made me realise that I have so much more to live for than some vendetta. I love you. I love you with everything I am and everything I’ll ever be and I’m sorry if I didn’t make it clear how strongly I felt that before now, or if you ever felt you ranked below my desire to-” “I love you too, Nash. And don’t worry. Because we are absolutely going to get that revenge.”
Even their love declaration felt a little underwhelming compared to the others and, while Monroe is definitely a good guy and I can see how he used to be Tatum's only pillar of comfort in the beginning, right now I don't have a particular way to single him out.
🧑🏻👩🏼Blake and Tatum
“I love you, Cinders.” “I love you too, golden boy,” I breathed and he sighed, closing his eyes as he relished those words. “I love every ray of sunshine that’s housed in your skin, I love that each one burns into me and makes me feel lighter than air. But I love your darkness too, the shadowy side of you that lurks beneath that sweetly cruel exterior. I want both halves of you, Blake Bowman, because they make you real. They make you a villain and a hero. A god and a devil. The creature in between it all is the most tempting, beautiful man. And he’s mine.”
Blake was a sweetie pie from the beginning, super cute and funny, sexy as hell and very confident. But in this book he also had a few moments that fully proved he's a Night Keeper through and through, with a ferocity that only his family being in danger could provoke.
“I love you, Blake. You’re my dark soldier, and I see the depths of your scars. I’ll spend forever trying to heal the marks left on your heart.”
He and Tatum, like Tatum and Monroe, felt easy and nice, fun and warm, but again, I think that easiness stole a bit of depth from the relationships. Don't get me wrong, they were definitely sweethearts, but on the long run, not as memorable as Kyan or Saint. What I liked the most about their love was how well they could understand each other’s pain and how easy they could tend to each other’s bleeding heart.
🧑🏼🤵🏾Monroe and Saint
"Sometimes, I watch the way the four of you are and I can see that I...don't fit. Not in the same way." "You feel like the outsider? Try being the guy who joined up last. Who used to be your teacher. Who comes from a poor family and the foster system. If any of us doesn’t fit, it's me." "And yet you do. Besides, you had something growing up which I can never lay claim to." "You have love now," he objected, knowing exactly what I meant. "We all have love now. Tatum gave us that." "Yes. Our family is the one truest light in an otherwise very dark world. I'm proud to call you my brother, Nash,” I said honestly.
They went from complete opposites and enemies to total besties and I think that was the final puzzle piece missing from Nash's life, because I'm sure he now feels truly at home with the rest of them. Despite their differences, the two of them have a maturity that binds them together, while Kyan and Blake have an easiness and a wicked sense of humour that connects them.
》》Favorite Scenes《《
👩🏼Tatum telling her captors about her 4 boyfriends
“Saint’s the brains, he’s the one who will have found you. He was who I called from your phone by the way.” I smirked as his brows pinched together. “You fucking-” “He’s got a real psycho streak too,” I spoke over him. “Then there’s Nash, my beautiful knight looks like an angel but he will have left his heart at home for this job. And Blake? You don’t wanna see him scorned, Jonas. I’ve seen him kill and he goes to a dark, dark place that still surprises me every time. And Kyan, oh Lord, you don’t wanna meet Kyan.” “Who’s that?” he murmured, like he just couldn’t help but ask. “Kyan’s vengeance embodied. He makes men far bigger than you bleed just for fun.”
🧑🏼🧑🏻🧑🏽🧑🏿💼The guys rescuing Tatum 🧑🏿💼🧑🏻 Saint and Blake destroying the ending of the book the woman from the lab was reading
"Blake picked the paperback up from her desk entitled Warrior Fae, flipped it open to the last page and tore it out before scrunching it up and tossing it in the trash. Fucking savage. Not that I was complaining. She deserved to never find out the end of her book. If I had the time, I’d find a way to track down every copy in the world so that she could suffer forevermore without knowing how it ended. I wasn’t sure if there was any worse fate than that to bestow on someone."

"Kyan you’re Koala, Tatum you’re Tigress, Nash is Nighthawk and Blake you’re Baboon.” “Baboon?” Blake blurted. “Why do I get Baboon? Why not Bear or Boa Constrictor or something cool?” “Because you are a baboon,” Saint said smoothly and I snorted a laugh. “Kyan’s hardly a koala,” Blake complained. “On the contrary, koalas are quite vicious,” Saint reasoned. “And cuddly,” I added, pinching Kyan’s cheek and he smiled wickedly. “So what are you?” Monroe asked Saint curiously. “He’s Squid!” Kyan announced and I laughed wildly, nodding my agreement.
🧑🏻👩🏼Blake taking Tatum to meet his father 🧑🏽Kyan exclaiming how hot Tatum is and asking the authorities to give her his number when the military came searching for her, handing everyone a flyer with her picture
The flyer made it back around to Blake and he gave it to Kyan last who released a low whistle. "Holy hell, if you find her can you give her my number?" he asked with a grin. "She looks like the kind of girl I could have real fun getting naked with." "She's hot as fuck," Blake agreed and Sergeant Jeffers snatched the flyer back from them. "She is also a wanted woman who may have had a hand in releasing the Hades Virus into the world, so perhaps you should be choosier about who you want to stick your cock into," he snapped. "Well I could still hate fuck her pretty good," Kyan reasoned. "But I can't guarantee she'd come quietly - get it?"
🧔🏼👩🏼Niall and Tatum escaping 🧑🏽🧑🏻Kyan punching Blake for flirting with another woman
"I punched Blake's shoulder for flirting with her while he gave me a flat look which made it all too clear he had zero interest in anyone other than Tatum. Which I knew, but as her husband I felt it was my duty to keep her boyfriends in line."

》》Conclusion《《
“I love burning the world down with you at my side,” Kyan said in a low voice. “It’s not burning yet,” I tossed back with a grin before placing my mask back on.
I was obsessed with it and it definitely goes on my guilty pleasure series list. I loved the characters and their development arcs, I was extremely happy with the way the authors spent time on the ending, giving us details and nice bonus scenes with explanations and details and I think I'll be thrilled to find crossovers with Tatum and the boys and the other two series set in this world.
"At least say we'd found this. Love. Family. Life. And really, what else could anyone ask for that was more important than that?"
Saint wasn't the king of this tribe of heathens. They were ruled by a queen.”
Star Rating : 5/5 Stars
POV : Multiple
Cliffhanger : NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hero : Multiple
Heroine : Tatum Rivers. She was strong and vulnerable all in one. To say in short, she was the exact thing the nightkeepers needed!
Pace of the story : Moderate
Angst Rating : 7/10
Heat Rating : 8/10
Triggers Involved : Past Trauma
Plot Summary : The Night Keepers ARE BACK!! After that crazy ending , I was so excited to see these men again! With more enemies on the loose and Tate being kidnapped , the night keepers are fully dedicated in getting back their girl!
Overall Opinion : It honestly astounds me , how these authors are able to write such marvelous books with so many plot twists and each book being so different from each other! They are the true queens! QOQ is a masterpiece within itself. There is no way any person who is a fan of Bully RH romance will hate this book. It has darkness , Steam and Humour all in one , automatically making it a top series of mien! I am so sad to say goodbye to these characters but I really hope we will see more of them in the future.
If you think that these authors are amazing when they write a series , wait till you read how they end them! The ending of this book was everything, I was constantly on edge with my heart racing , praying for my dear characters to survive and get their happy ending! I have been going crazy for this book for months and to say it surpassed my expectations would be an understatement. Full of thrill , humour and steam , “Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep” is everything My Bully Romance loving Heart desires!
There is no way you can call yourself a Bully Romance lover if you haven’t read this series! The theme of this book which is based on a real life virus and circumstances that all of us are going through made me cringe in the starting , but holy shit what a mistake it was. Trust me ,the virus in this book is not like Covid 19 but it is something much more dangerous, and the main focus of this series is not the virus but rather the suspense and the pandemic situation in a high school! Please don’t let this deter you from this series and make sure you read this one. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
WOW, WOW, WOW!!! What an epic ending to a phenomenal series! Dude! So so so good! Even with the massive page count, I didn't want it to end. What an intense ride.
Sad to say goodbye to Saint, Kyan, Nash and Blake. They were written perfectly and each brought something exciting to the thrilling relationship they shared with the one and only Tatum. She brought her night keepers to their knees. She made them feel loved and included. She brought out their alphaness and their sweetness. They fit together like the most prized puzzle.
They were beyond HOT together. Wowzers, were the HOT, HOT, HOT!!! The queen received so much from her men. She also gave back that and more. The book was not lacking in the steaminess factor AT. ALL!!
So much happened in this book... So many twists and turns. So many mysteries unearthed. All the questions have been answered.. Well, all but one.
Oh my this series was amazing I’ve binged read it in like four days and their long books as well I just couldn’t put it down. This is the final instalment in the series and it was absolutely ramped full of everything you could ever want it had action, passion, brotherhood, humour, danger, sweetness and so much delicious darkness.
The Night Keepers and their chosen Queen finally unleash themselves full-throttle on all of their enemies and got to admit I was getting worried there for a while. But no matter the odds stacked against them this tribe of misfit family stand together against all obstacles loyal till the very end.
“I am the dark in the dead of night” “Hear me Roar”
Every one of Tatum’s men was delicious and I just adore every single one of them even Saint has managed to completely redeem himself whilst still being all Saint. I love the solidarity and camaraderie these five now all share and was rooting for them every step of the way.
There were surprises and things weren’t always straightforward or even easy but they all fought with every breath in their body’s to achieve their end goals and keep their girl safe from harm Tatum is definitely their heart and they would go to the ends of the earth for her and each other She’s also completely bad-ass and able to take care of herself which she proves more than once.
I also loved the underlying humour and banter mixed in with all of the danger and action and the Squid jokes were fabulous. Finally, the epilogues were the icing for me and a fabulous addition leaving me feeling so warm and fuzzy. I’m sad to leave Tatum, Saint, Kyan, Blake and Nash behind but so thrilled they got there HEA. I totally recommend this series and I’ve enjoyed it immensely.
Ok. Where the hell do I start!!!! 2.5 stars at most. I lots this rating I really do. I hate giving low ratings on books!
I liked these books I really did. However this one was filled with so much filler. So much inner dialogue it drove me insane. Saint. I’m sorry but Saint is still a spoilt little rich kid who doesn’t like how he was brought up. No demons nothing. He was a snob. A bully and a painfully annoying character. I have never loathed a hero as much as I do him.
Ok the sex. I like a smutty scene as much as the next person but come on. We are in mortal danger but hey let’s have an orgy. We have to keep an eye out for soldiers, but we can through in some sex here and almost get killed because we didn’t watch out.
Tate annoyed me a bit. She spent the last few books acting older then she was. But let’s face it. This book she behaved like the petulant child she truly is.
There was so much filler this book could have been half as long and been so much better. The twists towards the end with the reveal of her mother was good I have to admit I didn’t see it coming. The death of Troy was very anticlimactic.
I wanted to like this book I really did. But when I got to the 90% mark I wanted to finish it. And it never ended. It was epilogue after epilogue. Like seriously it didn’t need to be dragged out so long.
Will I read more books by these authors. Maybe. It depends on the context and story as these books were drawn out and could have been finished in 3 rather then the 4. ESP the justice Ninja abs stalker. Such massive parts of previous books and boom over within seconds.
Others have raved about this book so I feel my opinion is a small minority. But it just wasn’t as good as I had hoped.
“I am the dark in the dead of night...hear me roar!” Wow the last time I’ll get to read that war cry.
This book has me in a panic during the first 10 chapters. The adrenaline was going. And honestly, it didn’t really stop. There was nonstop action that followed Tatum and the guys on their way to ruin Troy Memphis, stop the Hades Virus, and shut down that devil club. But during all the planning and execution of their plans the guys manage to convince Tatum that they’re all in, that she is their one true Queen, meant for them all. My heart could nearly not take it all. I’m so glad I gave my heart an ice pack and persevered to the end. This wrap up was epic perfection. Can we also talk about those epilogues!? Yes. More than one. I LOVE a good epilogue and these authors left me feeling blissfully happy for five of my favorite characters.
Wow!!! Just fucking wow..... this series is perfection 🥰 if you love bully romance, reverse harem, dark themes and a touch of taboo this series is a must! I can't describe how amazing that ending was, it gives you all the feels 🖤❤ "I am the dark in the dead of night.....hear me roar!"
So I read the entire series. I wish I hadn't but I did. The fourth and final book suffered from too many sex scenes and too little plot. If I had a nickel for every time they had sex and I was like FUCK we don't have time for this!
The whole COVID-19/mad scientist angle was unnecessary. There is enough story with the school stuff and each boy's family dynamics. I wish they had left alk of this out and just done a school bulky romance.
Also, Saint's race is not fully considered in the narrative. You forget Saint is Black (I assume because he is only ever described as dark-skinned or as having tight black curls.)
There are some interesting plot points and character dynamics that could have been explored. Saint is Black and keeps a pretty white girl as a slave. The only two Black characters are, objectively, the worst villains in the series even if Saint is a love interest. Is this problematic? His father is governor, they are uber rich, and he attends a predominantly white boarding school. What is the impact of being Black when most of your peers are white? The series is set during COVID-19 (even if they gave it a stupid code name). What about the BLM protests?
And the epilogue was like when you have a nightmare and wake up but SURPRISE BITCH you're still in the nightmare and that just keeps happening like 8 more times. It was like a punishment. Thank fuck it's over.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I haven't even finished the book yet and I am struggling here. I love the first and 2nd book but by the third I was starting to get over it. This one is literally one thing happens sex, another thing happens sex. It's like they can't go a second without having sex. I get that it's a part of their relationship and the story but oh my goodness there is so much sex I've gotten to the point of just skipping those parts and when I do that I notice there isnt much left in each chapter.
I’m not going to give too much away in this review. A lot happens since it’s the last book and I don’t want to spoil anything.
We finally reach the end of our journey with Tatum, Blake, Monroe, Saint, Kylan and the life threatening Hades virus. And these two authors went out with a bang. From the first chapter my adrenaline was at an extreme high. These five characters have not had it easy and it definitely becomes a lot harder in their last book. Throughout the book my heart would break, then once something good would happen and I’d start to have hope things would work out, my heart was shattered again. But even with all the chaos we are rewarded with hilarious scenes, touching moments and lots and lots of steamy action. This book brought so many emotions out of me. I was so anxious I was rocking back and forth at some points. I was spitting out water laughing, experiencing emotional breakdowns, beaming with joy, cursing like a lunatic and had to go outside in the cold a few times to cool down from the hotness.
This book revolves around taking down Troy Memphis, curing the world of the deadly Hades Virus, and destroying the Royaume D’elite. Yes, a lot of stuff for the final book, but if anyone can handle the pressure it’s Tatum and her Night Keepers. Like the previous books each one seems to center on one of the guys, and this book is Saint’s. We finally get to see more of his battle and why he needs control and order to feel stable. We get more glimpses of his childhood and how his dad treated him. He is thrown into situations during the book that threw him extremely off balance. But he has Tatum to help regain his control and keep the inner demons at bay. And the help of his brothers to help remind him who he is and how they need him to lead the fight. We see his demeanor and attitude change during the story and it’s so amazing to see how far he has come. He may think of himself as the devil but he is really just a person who will do anything for the people he loves, even if it means driving them crazy with his schedules and habits.
Now don’t get me wrong, this book has all the guys along with their Queen. It’s a war out there and they won’t go down unless it’s together. The authors made sure that Tatum had time for all her Night Keepers. We get to see how much they’ve grown throughout the series. It’s hard to believe how they started, because all they feel for each other now is pure love. I love not only the touching moments with Tatum and the guys, but the moment between the guys themselves. They have such an incredibly strong bond. Even Monroe who finally found his family. Honestly my eyes are sore from rubbing the tears away. Thank goodness I stocked up on tissues!
We were also rewarded with more of our favorite psychopath, Niall! This guy is seriously unhinged, but it’s always the crazed psychos that win your heart. He had me cracking up with his antics. We get some satisfying scenes of the evil being taken out and I was here for the bloodshed. It’s so bittersweet that this series is over. I loved seeing how everything came together, but I’m sad this is the last book. I’m really hoping for Tatum, Saint, Blake, Monroe, and Kylan to pop up in other series. Even after that ending it’s still not enough! I will just end this review by thanking the authors for making this pandemic a little less depressing. This is such an incredible series and I will gladly send my stock pile of toilet paper, hand sanitizer and clorox wipes if you ever need it.
I loved book one in the series. I really liked books two and three. This book started and I realised, I didn't care anymore. I didn't care how it ended. Life is too short to read things you are not enjoying.
DNF @53%
I'd love to pretend that I DNF'd this because I was so excited about the arrival of my House of Sky and Breath today, however, I have been trying and failing to get into it for 5 days (Bare in mind, I read the others in a day each).
There were a number of issues that irritated me. Firstly, I felt this book to be a source of misinformation. "...it might have fucking sucked and made me sick as a dog but it came with the perk of me being immune now." I am aware that the 'Hades virus' is not the Corona virus, but no one can deny that it is modelled on it. It has been proven that those who have previously had COVID can certainly catch it again. Over 70 pages later, we are told, "he should be protected from the virus for a few months at least. That was what they'd reported on the news. Though nothing was certain." However, I do not feel that this was enough to counteract the previous statement.
Secondly, I had previously been impressed by the inclusion of male rape (as perpetrated by a female). 'This is a really important issue. I'm glad it's getting representation,' I'd thought. However, the continuation of the nickname 'Deepthroat' for the attacker, completely took away from the seriousness of the situation.
Finally, I really struggled with the dynamics of their specific five-way relationship. Perhaps I need some personal growth, but I just couldn't get my head around the 'real world' implications. There's only 7 days in a week people! I struggle to find time for my husband - of which I have one - let alone three others! I didn't have this issue with Den of Vipers, so I believe it to be the way in which it was written in this particular book.
I really wanted to love this one. I found a lot of the same issues in this book as with the prior. After about midway book 3, I just lost interest and don’t feel as much for the characters as I did before. I actually liked them and the dynamic in book one knowing that it would come together by the end, but book 3 kind of ruined it all for me.
I skimmed a lot in this one. There was so much filler in my opinion and there were more sex scenes than plot at times. Now don’t get me wrong, I love smut heavy books but most of those don’t have a thick plot to accompany it. So I felt like those took away from the story at times. We did get some good scenes that I enjoyed but those were over shadowed by all the filler. I did like some of the epilogues, I found some of those extremely cute (mainly the last two).
I went from loving the characters to being somewhat indifferent. Like I said above, this switch happened in book 3, which is unfortunate because I had high hopes. Honestly, this series could have been shorter and maybe I would have enjoyed it more. I don’t think it’s a bad series, and I can see how people are in love with it, so don’t let me deter you if you’re interested.
I'm going to talk about my favourite parts of this book the time leaps might not make sense this isn't exactly a review just the notes I took and my thoughts.
To start off with the attempted rescue scene the guys were way more level-headed than I would have given them credit for but with Tatum as motivation how could they not be. I was shocked it took them 2 weeks to recover her like excuse me Saint had more money than God. Not to mention why were they tiptoeing around the bush I would have gone straight to Troy beat the ever-loving shit out of him first thing to find out where she was not a second's hesitation. But knowing Saint he had been planning the takedown of his father for years only for Tatum to be taken but still, Saint wouldn't let his planning go to waste hurting Troy was a backup plan like seriously.
During the invasion of a facility they thought was holding Tatum, the guys took out this nurse and Blake ripped out the last page of her book and if that's, not pure evil I don't know what is, it made me laugh out loud though. Even at the beginning of the fourth book, you can see the development Blake goes through slowly turning more and more into a morally gray character just like the rest of the guys.
Blake was not the only one changing when Saint said "I was her creature now whether she wanted me or not and she was mine too." I thought it was so fitting and honestly perfect in Saint's mind he's not actually human, flesh and blood maybe. He's a creature now a hunter not human until he gets her back.
I have to say Tatum essentially saving herself was *chefs kiss* all it took was a 2-second call and the great Saint Memphis has all he needs to know I mean you have to love these dark powerful characters with morally gray choices only when they're on the side you want.
All the little things make me so fucking happy like calling the medical assistant's beard "like someone had glued clumps of pubes to his face in random places." was classic especially when describing people unliked by our beloved characters.
When the lights were cut and Tatum started maniacally laughing it was the best fucking moment I was almost vibrating with excitement waiting for Jones's inevitable bloody death!
The moment Saint said, "So she has no desperate need of a medically trained nurse?" I fucking died laughing knowing he was going to push them off the fucking helicopter and I am living for it.
The second the helicopter pilot said 'you can't kill me' I just knew Saint could fly the helicopter and that he would, in fact, kill the pilot and honestly I fucking loved it. Never tell Saint what to do!
When Kyan got taken and Tatum went all terminator it was perfect throughout the entire first 3 books she fights back but is mostly protected by the guys depending on them for help and protection. But in the lab she was alone and it was her call to Saint that saved her life so they could trach her. Now when Kayn gets taken she hunted him down and saved him also identifying and eliminating their stalker and the stupid justice ninja.
I have to give props to the author's a female stalker was brilliant and the most unexpected but a delightful bonus of feminism.
Kyan said he need to fuck Tatum right after being assaulted by deepthroat because he needed to erase the feeling of her. Hypersexuality after such an experience is one of the most common responses. The whole turn of events was shockingly refreshing, a female stalker however rare it still happens, Kyan's whole storyline with her is different. Especially with someone such as Kayn being portrayed as the most unhinged/fierce of the four. Kyan the strong, the 'I fell no pain' one, being drugged and assaulted was horrible but something rarely shown, if ever.
I really loved this line "if anyone could outsmart the man hunting us, it was the one who’d been made in his image." it's like what did troy think he was going to raise the dutiful son who follows orders and doesn't ask questions. No, he created a monster taking his time to give Saint plenty of reasons to embrace that monster just to repay the favour but because he tortured his son like that Saint became someone able to bond and be stronger than him because he loved. He Loved his friends and he loved Tatum he had that ability and all his father had was hate and this burning need for power.
Again the little things are what make great books amidst all the relocating when they stop to pee Blake gets his dick stuck in the she wee thus causing Monroe to get poked with it in the eye I might add trying to help. Tatum tells the boys to close their eyes and then moves out of the way at the last second causing Blake and Monroe to kiss honestly its parts like that one that makes me smile and keep me reading.
In the midst of all the shit the antics never stop, Monroe was complaining about Saint's name choice "How come they get to be porn stars while I'm a fucking Dipsickle?" PORN STAR NAMES. When I tell you I laughed because that line is fucking funny.
The details the author put into the book are fucking amazing "a bang filled my head and a cloud of pink smoke and glitter burst over us." pink glitter? All I can say is I fucking love it. Niall is fucking insane and psycho charters are my favourite they don't follow society's rules and just do what they like, they are free and it's perfect. Not to mention he has the best lines “Just call me Christian Grey on speed.” thats funny.
The author crafted such great characters in this reverse harem it's easy to get caught up when having to craft so many people perspectives but damn they did a good job as the boys were in the detention center for immune people Kayn thought "but as her husband, I felt it was my duty to keep her boyfriends in line." this level of detail into this character make me so happy and more immersed in the story honestly. Saint as well "But I have no objections to being called a snob if it means I don't have to mingle with the likes of these...peasants." if this line isn't Saint in a nutshell idk what is.
"I found I didn’t even give a shit that there were three other naked guys in my bed as we all drifted off. " when Monroe said this it was eyeopening, yes it one thing to be naked when they are all fucking her but to just do something like shower and go to sleep together it's super refreshing seeing men secure in their masculinity. This makes me realize what these other reverse harems are missing.
When Monroe saw how Kyan and Tatum fuck when they're alone there was no judgment on Monroe's part just concern. How can Tatum like what he does to her he was more curious the judgmental than he just said he doesn't like things like keeping a firm grip around Tatum's throat leading Kyan to say You're so vanilla, Kyan joked and honestly that was funny and so something that Kyan would say.
"Didn't you take a peek into that black bag Saint's been clinging to since we left The Temple? The dirty fucker brought almost as many sex toys as rolls of cash." the excitement this line game me!
"him gloating overtopping me while I gave absolutely no shits about it." Monroe is fucking amazing this moment solidified that this book is one of a fucking kind I've never read a reverse harem where the men even got close to crossing a line and I don't mean MM I mean including the other guy not just DP but actually having sex as a collective, not two single entities coming together on the girl but actually together as a whole it was mind-blowing and filled something I didn't even know I was missing.
When Saint was letting his snob show at Liam's dinner and "Liam laughed, clapping a hand to Saint’s shoulder and shaking him. “I like you, lad” this honestly didn't surprise me of course Liam would like Saint.
Tatum getting a tattoo is fitting, all of the guys have so many and Kyan is an amazing artist it was about time she got something that represents all her guys too.
"the one where Goldilocks met the three bears and rather than running for the hills, she called the woodcutter in to join them and crowned herself their queen. That was the kind of fairy tale I wanted to live in forever." this line is a gem.
"he casually took a pocket-sized lint roller from his coat and ran it over the white hairs left on his clothes" these little details are about ruining me for other books this is absolutely 100% a Saint move. Not to mention of course cats like him just of course.
Saint is one of the best descriptions of a morally gray character I've read he doesn't feel the need to hurt or punish anyone unless they do something wrong but usually the punishment does not fit the crime. In chapter 40 saint talks about the man who tuned the everlake piano wrong and his thoughts over this are somewhat severe "I had the man fired, his business destroyed, reputation torn apart and I was almost certain he'd been evicted from his home too. It probably wasn't enough of a punishment for the torture he'd inflicted upon my piano" and Saint believes this wholeheartedly to be true that the man deserves it worse.
All throughout the first three books, we see Saint from Tatum's perspective/limited knowledge as this evil man torturing these 'unspeakables' for miner infractions only to find out he was going easy on them for the terrible things they did/were doing and now we get a peek into Saint's mind wholeheartedly entranced with him too much to question when his internal justice meter got stuck on severe.
"I bet I'd have to spend months breaking you if I wanted any of your secrets" "I'd take them to the grave" I replied earnestly, and his eyes flared like he was wondering if that was true" this line is just spot fucking on Niall giddy at the prospect of some alone time with Saint because he would undoubtedly be a challenge for the master of torture Niall is.
The one common theme of this book that I kind of excepted is Tatum being the one with power and the upper hand time and time again. She proves herself capable and holding knowledge that the guys don't, being the saviour and not the saved. Feminist writers make me so fucking happy because theirs this power balance maybe not initially but in the end they always prove equals and it makes me happy to finally see some truth betrayed on women's behalf some writers unknowingly make women out to be weak and unable to handle things from our collective social bias and when you get to really see what a difference a feminist perspective in writing can do for a book as a whole its opens the reader's eyes just a little bit more.
I absolutely love the way they interact with one another, joking, yes always with a meaningful undertone "Come on then, master" Kyan taunted "Take control of us. You know it'll help with those Daddy issues that are plaguing you" Kyan is seriously offering himself up to Saint to help with his control/stress issues with the impending siege/change but it always warms my heart how they can just do that, know exactly what the other needs and not just Tatum but all the others, after all, they are brothers through bond and choice.
When his father was moving Saint and this happened "I tipped my head back as I shouted at the top of my lungs "I am the dark in the dead of the night" I fucking could not contain my excitement the hunt is on and no one will be left alive!
I do not think I can ever forgive the author for making me think Kyan was dead even for a few pages it was unbearable.
Even after the vaccine was disrupted they still kept to their antics and the heat between them never stoped burning "following me onto the porch in his boxers and grabbing me by the throat as he dragged me into a filthy kiss that sent heat skittering everywhere through my flesh" just wow! “And I’m late for work. There are far too many dicks trying to stop me from getting there this morning, it’s like a cock obstacle course” this is just peak humour I swear this shit makes me crack up.
The author is wrapping up things I didn't even know I needed "He called her Rebecca too, claiming that it made sense because it had always been a false name and it suited him to keep to it. Fuck if knew what the girl thought of that, but I was guessing for the salary he paid, she’d decided not to give a shit".
The thought of Saint teaching kyan knots is just another one of those small details that make this book so good "I swear Saint had been teaching him how to do all kinds of knots too" thought-provoking to say the least.
Monroe's character development: he went from only accepting Kyan as someone he could relate to only because they shared rage that burned so hot it was blinding. He become this man who related to Blake the most and as we all know Blake is the happy one if you can even label him that, there was a shift Kyan and Saint bonded closer as the two who carried deep burdens as someone who could pull the other out of of their head and keep the other motivated the shower scene comes to mind after Saints father called the O'brian house.
Now we find blake and Monroe together playing games and fucking with each other more closely and as a signature of a reverse harem they all love each other equally of course it's just really nice to see Monroe let go and get to be essentially a kid again have the fun that was taken from him. Not to mention Kyan loved to build up Saint and fuck with him because Kyan's a kinky motherfucker and loves when Saint starts up with his punishments and his games/control.
"For someone who hated surprise changes of plans, he sure liked springing them on the rest of us." Saint is honestly such a great character he does all these things im not even sure he knows are caring and thoughtful and dismisses' their meaning because he just likes to plan and if that isn't just perfect I don't know what is.
I have to admit the author had me for a moment I was just letting go of the idea that Troy was just going to never be found, they would move on and live happily ever after but they have our backs.
Once troy realized there was no getting away and Nash kicked out the stool I was ecstatic then they all screamed "I am the dark in the dead of the night!" I have never been happier.
I was not expecting a wedding and the proposal!
When Saint cut in saying they were all taking her name I actually choked, positively of course.
"Checking over my dress, adjusting the glittering tiara in my hair and the veil" Why was I surprised she has a FUCKING TIARA!
"This is about as magical as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre." I could not contain my laughter they're talking about Tatum giving birth. I love that they just accept that of course Saints sperm is the winner "I should have known full well this kid would have Saint's genetics" "Because I'm clearly the fun one. So I get to be Daddy, you're Dad, Nash. Kyan is Pa and Saint is Father" THIS FUCKING LINE The antics never stop and I love it “You heathen, you’re not even wearing a shirt. What kind of hillbilly event is this?” classic Saint

This is the 4th book in the Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep series so definitely cannot read on its own. The whole series is amazing to say the least, but this book topped the cake on everything else I’ve read so far by these two authors
The book picks up right where we left off in the ending of Kings of Anarchy. Yes, do you remember that cliffhanger of an ending? Well, let me tell you, the beginning of this book is nonstop suspense and anxious nerves all around. Holy moly!! I was 7% into the book and could not stop. It was seriously that intense. Did I cry? Yes, of course.
The way these boys were so arduously looking for Tatum was nothing but riveting. Omg I wanted to be her to some extent. Not in the conditions she was in, but wanting to be rescued by them, yea, why not?
“I’m a demon trying to grow wings by standing in the blinding light of you.” This quote right here defines what Tatum means to the boys and the depths they will go to in order to repent in her salvation. Because Tatum is the boys salvation and the light to their darkness.
The authors have written this book with so much heartfelt emotion and the quotes within this book, which the boys tell Tatum, have seriously melted my heart. This book is so real and emotional that I can’t put into words what it has done to me. You need to read this masterpiece of a book, along with others in the series. This is the ending of endings to say the least.
This book deserves far more than 5 Stars... for real!!
I'm glad I finished this series and got to see how everything turned out. Everything culminated in this book; will the pandemic end and will there be a vaccine? Will they get Troy Memphis for all the horrible things he did? Will Tatum and the guys get some peace and live out their lives? The authors answered all the questions and left no loose ends. I thought the ending went on too long, but I'm sure most readers will be happy to know exactly how everything turned out.
I kind of started liking Tatum less in the last two books. Once she stopped with her revenge and started thinking everything the guys did was such a turn on, I wasn't as interested. I know the bully part had to kind of end, but in the early books she wouldn't have let them get away with some of things they did later and I felt like she lost a bit of her fierceness.
I did like the group and how much they cared for each other. Even the guys could admit they loved one another as brothers and had a strong bond. The series is good overall and worth reading if you like this genre of romance.

𝐌𝐘 𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐....if only i could give this book ♾stars.
Another Masterpiece from the duo of these authors that I devoured impatiently...All I was thinking about was please don't end quickly but there was no point for worrying...it was a huge book. I can say without an once of doubt that this series was unlike any I have ever read....like ever...I was always a fan of Bully Romance and when you mix it with RH....that just makes it my crazy obsession and the characters and storyline here is worth every thought for every second of my day.... Kings of Anarchy had one of the most brutal Cliffhanger and this book started right there off...with more plot twist and suspense for you to feel like pulling your hairs out of anticipation....Saint, Kansas, Blake, Nash and one and only my favorite heroine ever Tatum Rivers...every character had a detailed and different base but they match together like a missing puzzle pieces...these 5 lost souls found solace in each other. No matter how much I try...I can never convey how much I enjoyed this series...no words is enough for that... Whatever I expected for this book to end with ...I feel like I got more and more...and that ending God...I had no idea what to feel like after this ride of a book...sad to say goodbye to these characters and happy to finally get the conclusion I was dying to read...so full of emotions right now...
𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐉𝐔𝐑𝐘: I recommend this book to every RH Bully Romance Lovers out there...believe me, if you haven't read this series, you can't say you are a fan of Bully Romance yet...this book will change your whole perspective of how Bully Romance is like...
This whole series really surprised me. I went into it thinking I wasn’t going to be a fan and let me tell you, i ate this up! Hands down one of my top RHs I’ve read ever!!! I am obsessed with the twisted sisters writing. They take you through every possible emotion and when you think all hope is lost, they make you the happiest you’ve ever been and finish it up with the biggest bow in the entire world. The spice in this was done to perfection. The ending of this series honestly exceeded my expectations. I always love how they wrap up a series and this was no exception. My heart was bursting and I love the extended epilogues. They are my favourite thing the twisted sisters do. Definitely recommend this series to everyone. One of their best 😍 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars
I was deliberately dragging out finishing off these books because I didn’t want my time with these characters to end but alas, the inevitable is here and now I feel like I’m saying goodbye to my nearest and dearest friends! The plotting of this series is fantastic, the characterisation is even better, and the sense of humour mingled with love that is throw into this series is why I just adore it so damn much. I IMPLORE you all to give these books a go. And as always, they shine brightest when devoured via audiobook.
I’m so 🦑 that it’s over! I devoured these books and loved every moment of them. The squid emoji had my dying laughing EVERY TIME! There were parts I audibly gasped going through the feels of what we all know the Twisted Sisters do to us. It was action packed, emotional, hilarious, and fulfilling.
“I am the dark in the dead of the night! Hear me roar”
And just like that, I say goodbye to Tatum, Saint, Kyan, Blake and Monroe 🦑 But first, let me just tell you one quick thing: this book was 🥵 I know it’s RH and all that but damn, it was 🌶🔥👀 Back to the plot. I did NOT see Karen coming. My mind couldn’t be further away from that. I gasped a little, I confess, after that quick second of putting 2 and 2 together 😱 and Kyan got me really scared for a minute. But since I got really, really good at denial with Zodiac Academy… I was absolutely sure there was nothing to worry about 😎 This book also had one of the most satisfying epilogues in the history of epilogues. Honestly, this must be the reason epilogues we’re invented 🙌🏼 I started this series really häting Saint. I continued reading it and häting Saint. I ended the series with Saint as my favorite. Even over Tatum herself. Life is funny like that. And life as a reader is better. NA. 4.5 stars ⭐️
Queen of Quarantine is the fourth and final instalment in the Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep series. I had mixed feelings while reading this book as I was excited to see how the story ended for the characters but sad that their journey was going to be over and...WHAT A RIDE!!!
This is my favourite book from the whole series with a great mix of action, relationship development and steamy scenes. All our questions are answered and I have to say that I was surprised by some of them! All the characters have really grown on me and I was happy to see that all of them had their spotlight across the story. Tatum really showed what a strong and independent woman she was, ready to go to battle and fight for herself and her boys.
Without spoilers, I can only say that this is one of my favourite series’ ending. Many times they feel rushed but the authors really put an effort and took their time in the epilogue chapters which was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. It gave me everything I wanted and more!
I am going to miss these characters but I can’t wait for the spin-off that follows Niall’s story (Kyan’s uncle), The Death Club. Who doesn’t love a crazy and unhinged main character?
Okay, let’s dive on in! I did like this series. I’m not gonna lie, the bullying in the beginning of the series was a little rough, but I read and can handle pretty dark books so it didn’t really bother me, plus I love a good redemption/groveling story. These guys definitely prove their devotion to Tatum, the female lead, throughout the series. They pay for their sins towards her in blood.
This is a reverse harem series set in a fictional town with an exaggerated look at how the Hades Virus (Coronavirus) affects the lives of these characters. The plot of the series was quite interesting and kept me hooked. And let me be honest, the sex was H O T. Character development was great. The authors did a really good job giving the four guys very distinct and individual personalities. I honestly want to say that what I loved most about this series was the brotherhood between the guys. Their devotion to each other and the way they teased each other and wrestled/beat the crap out of each other was great. I loved Tatum. She was a badass that didn’t just roll over and take the bullying, and she did to them everything they did to her. I feel like with all reverse harem books, you already have to suspend reality a little bit because the world isn’t so accepting of poly relationships so it’s not the “norm”, unfortunately. With this series, I feel like you have to suspend reality even more than normal because these are teenagers that are supposedly so hardcore and badass that they can even make grown men in a criminal organization fear them. I’m not saying that 18 year olds can’t be powerful, but these boys basically could run the world and kill anyone who threatens them, so don’t go into this series with a firm grip on reality.
The reason for the deduction of stars is because after so long, I began skimming A LOT. Like some of the third book and almost all of the fourth book. It just dragged on and on and on and even though I liked the story, I was ready to get on with it and it end. I know that sounds harsh but these books were dragging so much that I was finding that my attention kept straying.
Overall, I do not regret reading the series, but it’s not one I would consider MY favorite. I noted several similarities to J Bree’s Hannaford Prep Series. Both are bully romances in a preparatory academy. Saint would be Ash with their cold and controlling demeanors. Blake would be Blaise with their happy go lucky personalities even though they definitely have some dark in them. And Kyan would be Harley, with their big bulking frames who is the “muscle” of the group. Kyan and Harley both come from criminal families. There’s an unhinged protector in both series, Niall in this series would be the Butcher in Hannaford, both had wives that were sexually abused. Saints dad and Ash’s dad are both bad guys with the final action scenes in each series revolving around sneaking into their homes and taking them out. Their use of “wolves” and how they howl, which the main character in Hannaford is known as the wolf. There’s also a similar phrase, “all hail” that’s in Hannaford. I’m NOT saying they plagiarized or anything by any means, I’m just saying there’s quite a few similarities to the characters of Hannaford prep. There are major differences as well, the series aren’t identical or anything, just similar in the actual characters. So I guess you could say that if you loved Hannaford, you’ll probably like this series as well. I also got some Den of Vipers vibes as well.... “little bird”.... I won’t go into all of the similarities between the two. All in all, if you are a reader who loved Hannaford and DOV, you should really like this series! It wasn’t a bad series at all, I rather enjoyed it, I just got a little burnt out after a while when it felt like the books just kept on going.
If you ❤️ the first three 📚, you’ll 🥔 for the 👸🏼 and her 😈😈😈😈, but before it 🎁 you’ll 🌪 and 📐 as well as 🧅 🐙
Knowing that Queen of Quarantine was the last book in the series, I tried to prolong reading it for as long as I could. I didn’t want it to end. I didn’t want to say goodbye. But, I finished. It's finished. The Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep series is finished. Why??????
What a way to end the series. Of course, everything gets wrapped up, well, almost everything, but it's how that all happens that will take you by surprise. All the twists, bombshells, and revolutions added to the already jam-packed story will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first page until the last.
The sex and violence in Queen of Quarantine is off the charts!! And revenge has never been sweeter. I laughed, I cried, I swore, I swooned, I got all hot and bothered. I think my heart even stopped a few times.
The characters have come a long way from Kings of Quarantine. They are a pack, a family, a queen and her demons, her Night Keepers.
I'm officially jealousy of a fictional character!
Thank you, Caroline and Susanne, for taking what was happening in the world and creating this... I have no words. Just, thank you.
For all those who have yet to read this series, read it now! You won't be disappointed.
