This was a huge slow burn. Bobby was pretty awesome. Kit was just alright, some moments better than others. Kit’s brother Jack was a nice secondary character. But the greatest secondary character was Jimmy. Absolutely hilarious. However, while I know the background of the book surrounding the characters was MMA fighting, there was a LOT of it included in the book. To the point I wanted to skim over. Kit resisted Bobby for a good half of the book even though she was attracted. This push and pull got annoying, fast. Then all of a sudden after a date the sexual intimacy kicked off. Now it’s hot and heavy with multiple scenes. At this point I was more curious what would happen next since it leading up it had been such a dry spell. One of the worst parts was the obvious trouble the bad side of Kit’s family was causing. Especially the threats! So WHY didn’t she call the police? Why didn’t she give Bobby all the info.? This was extremely frustrating and got into stupid decision territory. Kit getting hurt so severely felt unnecessary for the story. And then at the end she mentioning she wants to start training again.....ugh girl your shoulder is destroyed, sit down and stop thinking about fighting again. I also wasn’t a fan of the main guy AND girl being wrapped up in MMA. Even though Bobby was cute with his worry at her first fight. Based on the general middle of the road mood on this one, book 2 being about this couple again and the fact that Jimmy’s book involves the h being with another guy first, I’m going to skip the rest of this series. I just didn’t feel magic or excitement.
This is probably one of the worst books I’ve ever read. There’s no plot, the editing is terrible and the word choice is awful. I feel that if it was worked on a lot more than it could have the potential to be an okay book.
The heroine I didn’t like. she wasn’t bad but she just wasn’t my cup of tea. I like that she was suppose to be like a badass but sometimes she came across as irrational, contradicting, and at times annoying. I also didn’t like that she was very hypocritical about her brother cursing and then she would go ahead and curse literally right after. I thought it was ridiculous.
It’s sad that I laughed more at things that weren’t suppose to be funny (aka “serious” situations) because of the awful word choice and editing than her attempts to actually make me laugh.
The hero I think was crafted to be unbelievable. Like, he says things that are soooooo cringey. Unfortunately, it wasn’t just him it was every character in the book that made me CRINGE. In fact I think this entire book is just a big ball of cringe. I will not be reading the rest of the series.
You can decided for yourself if want to read this book or not. This is just what I thought, and you may disagree and actually like this book.
Whoa. Just whoa. Emilia Finn is a new to me author, but when it's free, how the heck can you say no? Anywho, I love this author and she has become a one-click for sure. I love the way she wrote our Heroine as a badass who can take care of herself, and anyone else that happens to be there. She isn't afraid to speak her mind, she isn't afraid (much) of falling in love and taking that step that is so scary in any new relationship. Despite all the hurtles and obstacles in her way, she manages just fine, especially with the help of our Hero.
Possible spoilers: Kit, the heroine, doesn't need a man, but when Bobby catches her eye, she goes with it and doesn't fight it (after the initial hesitation). She is now taking care of her younger, immature brother, along with dealing with the death of her father. What woman doesn't love to see another woman struggle and ultimately CONQUER the hurtles thrown her way. And Bobby? Swoon. Talk about a hero. He is so in love with our heroine, not letting her run (meaning chasing after her when necessary) and convincing her to take a chance on him. On them. I mean, who doesn't want that? And when crap hits the fan, where is he? RIGHT AT HER BACK. She doesn't NEED him to protect her, she can do it on her own, but it's nice to see a man who doesn't mind standing back and watching his woman be awesome. Now I'm rambling, but if you haven't read Emilia Finn, now is definitely the time to start!
I really liked this book even though Bobby and Kit are insta love they are really sweet together. I like all supporting characters especially Aiden and Jack.
There are few things that surprise me to this point because I have read a lot of books from many genres. Nowadays, the most popular plots have MCs, fighters or mafia. The important thing here is not the genre or even the basic plot but how the author explores it to make it special and unforgettable. When I read the blurb of this book I was afraid the author might fall into a cliche, but I was amazed by the way she makes the story her very own. It was heartbreaking, touching, warm and absolutely beautiful in a unique way.
Kit Reilly was everything I would expect from a heroine. She is a lovely and responsible girl that had to grow up too quickly. She is 24 and the early twenties are supposed to be the time were young adults start to be independent while enjoying the perks of partying their hearts out. Nevertheless, she has too many things going on in her life that she nearly has time to breath. I can't help but admire her dedication to her family but I felt sad that she didn't have that much confidence in herself. However, this was also good because I got to see how she evolved through the book with a little help from the golden fighter Bobby. I like Kit, I really do, but I have a soft spot for Bobby. Believe me, ladies, you will too. I was totally swooning when I imagined his devilish grin and giggling at some flirting scenes with Kit. Those two are so adorable together and I couldn't help but notice and adore the fact that they compliment each other so well. Bobby was very confident in himself, sometimes even in a slightly arrogant way, but he was also kind and loyal. I loved that every character, especially our hero and heroine, had two sides to themselves and we were able to see both.
Perhaps, my favorite part of the novel was the fact that romance isn't the only main theme. It shares a good portion of the plot with the family theme. It was amazing how the author managed to make these two themes compliment each other in such a heartwarming and sometimes heartbreaking way. I highly recommend this novel any contemporary romance readers and even to those that have their doubts about the genre. Yeah, I am that confident in the ability of the book to attract readers. It is a memorable plot, after all. I can't wait to start book 2!
I really enjoyed Bobby and Kit. This book had it all, a great couple, the excitement of the fighting world, sexiness, trauma, suspense and family. It shows so well that family is not just blood relations, but those we invite in also.
a reread for me which is something I've never done. still a 5🌟 read. I reread this book as I wanted to start at the beginning of Emilia's repertoire. I'm glad I did. a fantastic start.
3.5 STARS!!!!! HEROINE RATING: 3 stars HERO RATING: 3 stars PLOT RATING: 3.5 stars SEX SCENES RATING: 4 stars SEXUAL TENSION: 3 stars SEX SCENES FREQUENCY: 4 stars DIALOGUE RATING:3.5 stars WRITING: 3.5 stars EMOTION: 4 stars STORY TELLING RATING: 3 stars STORY ENDING RATING:4 stars Was there an instant connection with the book? Can I say 1/2 and 1/2. I didn't feel it instantly like when you open a book and read the first page and you're instantly hooked, but I can say 30% into it I connected....
My Opinions ( Please keep in mind everyone has a different opinion and might find mine not similar to theirs, but different is always good ;) ) I'll expand more on my rating because they might seem confusing... For Emotion:4 stars but Connection 1/2 and 1/2, it was because she made me laugh, angry, frustrated, and sad. So yes she hit the spot with emotions and made me feel but connecting i wasn't able to actually connect with the story until much later once i was actually into it.
The Writing: 3.5 stars, me rating 3.5 is good as in when i read her next book in the series I can tell a very great difference, it flowed better. Considering this is a debut novel it was well written.
The sex scenes were HOT like HOT DAYUMMM!!!! Emilia nailed that part lol but seriously sometimes even great writers can stuff this up but it was goooooood. Just my issue was the sexual tension, she could have done soo much with tension but to ME it was lacking.
My Fav part in this whole novel is the one sided conversation, they made me tear up and smile through tears. All in all I'm glad I read this, and yes i did want to read the next book in there series. I'm sorry Emilia I skipped the 2nd book i just wanted JIMMY'S STORY ASAP!!

I loved part one of Bobby and Kit’s story which continues throughout the Rollin On Series. This is my second read (I didn’t review after my first read) and I know you’ll love reading this as much as I have. Bobby is a world class fighter and Kit an accountant who’s raising her 15 year old brother Jack after Kit and Jack’s father has died so she’s at a low point in her life. Then she meets Bobby and they’re both falling in love but life’s not smooth sailing for Kit and Bobby. l enjoyed that there’s not the usual predictable, angsty breakup between these two. They’re both strong characters and Kit’s not whiny or weak and Bobby’s not an arsehole, he’s arrogant and sure of himself but not a douche.
There’s plenty in this book aside from contemporary romance and finding love, there’s a look into professional fighting and plenty of additional drama with lots of secondary characters that in turn get their own stories. Add in an assault, abduction and attempted murder and it’ll keep you turning the pages and I was quickly onto reading part two of Bobby and Kit’s story, Finding Victory. I can thoroughly recommend this book as well as the entire series but be prepared to read all night long. I enjoy contemporary romance and Emilia Finn is a favourite Aussie one click for me.
Edited 23/7/21 this is probably my 6th read and I still love it as much as my first read. I’ve listened to it 3 times and this is my go to series when I need a comfort read. It’s like comfort food for the soul.
Good book but it probably could have been done about halfway through. The twist at the end barely made sense because the characters involved had such little parts in the rest of the book. But it was a good story.
I received this free e-book from Amazon and I am voluntarily writing a review. 67% and I cannot take any more boring with no point to story or direction on top of poor editing.
Kit's a strong woman raising her 15-year-old brother Jack. She's had a major loss in her life, she's unhappy with her job, and she's insecure about her body (who isn't?), but then she meets MMA fighter, Bobby, and suddenly life's looking up. Bobby doesn't know what hit him from the moment his eyes locked onto Kit in the club. But she is so shy that she doesn't seem to clue into his obvious signals, and she ends up leaving with another guy. Weeks later, though, Bobby seizes his chance when Kit and her brother walk into his and and his brothers' gym. All bets are off after that, and now Kit will just have to deal with Bobby's determined pursuit of her. Will Kit be strong enough to fight her way out of what's coming for her from probably the last source she'd ever have expected? Will Bobby be able to protect the woman he's fallen in love with?
Finding Home is such a great story. From the sparking attraction between Bobby and Kit, obvious from the very beginning, to the growth Kit exhibits throughout the story, to Bobby's brothers and finally, Kit's own family. I can tell this series is going to be the kind long remembered after I'm done reading because I'm still thinking about Bobby and Kit and their whole cast of loved ones, days after I finished reading. I cannot wait for more!
2.5/5 ⭐ I enjoyed it at the beginning, but then it became a little slow... I really liked the way it's written, it's very personal and emotional. I wish the characters could have developed a little bit more, because they seemed a little static and flat in their emotions. But it is a great book!!
I found Emilia Finn through a Facebook ad for one of her other series that spins off of this series. I did some searching and found that this was the first book and introduction into her world. Emilia's books hold a special place for me because I found them during the pandemic, joined her group and have made friends with other women who love these characters as much as I do.
Finding Home introduces us to Kit, Bobby Kincaid and the rest of the Rollers from the Rolling On Gym. Set in a world of UFC fighters, this book has it all. Kit is thrust into the world of single parenthood, without actually being a parent. She's the guardian to her younger brother, Jack who spends his time making her life hell. After enrolling Jack in MMA classes at Bobby's families' gym, Kit finds herself being pursued by the big, sexy, teddy bear. Once a Kincaid finds his other half, he knows and he will do whatever is needed to make her his. This book is filled with love, family, laughter and so many swoon worthy moments, you'll be wishing you were Kit.
Finding Home is only the beginning of Kit and Bobby's story. It continues in book two, Finding Victory. Don't think it'll stop there though, once you've gotten sucked into the Rollers, you'll fall in love with the rest of the Kincaid boys, their families and friends. To date, I have read every single Emilia Finn novel there is and have had serious debates about which book boyfriend is the best. Do yourself a favor, read this series, then read the next and the next and the next.
This is my first reread of the series! I found Emilia’s books from a facebook sponsored ad all the way back in May of this year and it’s honestly the best thing that’s happened to me! Bobby and Kit’s love story just wraps you in in a way you would never expect. This is my second time reading their love story and both times I’ve finished the book in less than a day. Kit Kincaid is that girl in all of us who just fights and fights to make it through life. She doesn’t want help, but she accepts it (even if it’s a bit begrudgingly at times). She’s this powerful, strong, intelligent, sexy heroine we love to read about. Then there’s Mr. Bobby Kincaid. He’s the start of a very long line of very sexy men that Emilia has created for her world. The best way to describe him, I think, is like a golden retriever. He’s loyal, high energy, endearing, a big ol’ teddy bear who just wants to spread love to those in his life while doing everything in his power to protect them. These books are worth the read, starting with kit and Bobby will never disappoint. Emilia starts off her elaborate world with these two and they are unforgettable. The only question is, where in world is roller town? #FinnGirl
Kit is struggling to raise her brother and with live in general. Determined to do right. She meets Bobby in a bar and they have a connection but when he walks her to her car and runs into her brother and his two friends she knows that her brother needs to be her preference.
Bobby is an MMA fighter and a gym owner, he is also the hit it and quit it type. So when he meets Kit he isnt prepared for the feelings she brings up within him. Ghosted after that meet in the bar, and her bartender bestie not helping him, he is happy when Kit and her brother Jack show up in his gym.
This is a slow build romance that pulls you in. You love the change from shy, timid, struggling Kit to bad ass Kit she becomes. Bobby is a great alpha hero character, sure he has his bad moments, his jealousy, his intensity but they are never overly bad just a negative character trait.
I love the connection and when you can see a HEA in the future the proverbial 'shit' hits the fan.
I was so ready and happy for this book to end so I could get to the next story. That is, until I realized that the couple would be getting another book. I’m sorry but they are the most boring couple ever! Won’t be continuing the series.
I got this book from Prime Reading. I have not read anything by this author before, but I found myself drawn into the story immediately. This is not just a romance, this is a romance mixed with a bit of a thriller.
Both of the main characters are strong and driven people. Kit is having to raise a teenager when she's not much past her teens herself. In addition, she has to deal with family that isn't happy with how her father's estate turned out. Bobby is a fighter, trainer and also an extremely devoted family member, both to his actual siblings and mother and to the "adopted" family they have taken in. He's also very disciplined in his own training to compete in the ring.
The connection between the two is very quick. They both back off, but can't stop thinking about each other and once they give in, it's very insta-love. Normally that bothers me, and to be honest it did with this book at first too, but then it kind of grew on me. The way Bobby so easily commits to Kit and everything she has going on.
The fighting side of things is not something I've read before, but I did enjoy it. The thriller part is what really kept me on the edge of my seat and having trouble putting the book down. I don't want to spoil things, but suffice it to say that tensions are high and your blood will be racing as you read faster and faster to see if everything will turn out ok.
This book has a bit of an identity crisis. The situations are a little strange 🤷
I liked that she takes her brother jack in and becomes his mother figure and that bobby also helps to take care of him. I like that he's a big fighter but is protective of his girl .😍
What I didn't like?.....this books goes from sweet, mma training type shiet to a girl kidnapping the h and slashing her arm and body up with a knife 😂 like.....wait, so were not training at the gym anymore?!!! It kinda threw me for a loop but okur.
And then they go to a concert ans he proposes there. The end 😳😐😂😂
I mean......the book just plods along with them going to the gym, going to work and going to achool. Theres nothing that stands out about this book.....ita just.....existing ya know 😂😂😂🤔
I like a bit MORE. More humor, more sexyyyy, more drama, more jealius scenes and this book just didn't deliver. it was meh. It was a good read for what it was bit nothing great or anything warranting a 4-5 star rating.

First I have to start with a question. My question is, Emilia can I have a Bobby of my very own?
Ok, seriously though. Bobby is the sweetest, most swoon-worthy, delicious hero I’ve read in quite some time. I honestly don’t think Bobby could have been a more perfect Alpha hero. And Kit? She’s the type of heroine you read and want her to be your new BFF. Her inner strength and big heart made me absolutely adore her. I fell completely in love with the entire cast of characters really. I laughed out loud at Bobby’s brothers, I wanted to just hug Kit’s best friend and Kit’s little brother Jack. I cried with them all through the heartbreaking events they endured. I cheered with them during fights, and I even cried happy tears at the end.
Finding Home by Emilia Finn Rollin On series book 1 (interconnected standalone)
Thank you to Tantor Audio for entrusting me with a review copy!
Dual narration by Dane Anderson and M.K. Blackwood I thought this narration was done well! The pacing was good and the narration added extra emotion to the story. The sound quality was good and still sounded good at the higher speeds my brain needs for audiobooks!
MMA sports romance Dual POV, found family, slow burn (though instant attraction for him), younger brother becoming ward, FMC learning to fight, she saves herself, no third act breakup, extended family making threats for inheritance, he falls first, no cliffhanger but the next book does continue this couple's story CW: Grief, cancer, kidnapping, torture (this is probably not a complete list, but as I was saying please check the content warnings I realized I'm not sure there were any and I can't get the KU book to download to double check)
Kit feels at a loss for how to deal with her 16 year old brother who is now her ward after they lose their father to cancer. When his friends are discussing a new gym, she goes with him to check it out. She is shocked when a man she met briefly is there and threatening her brother!
I enjoyed this story! I felt so much for Kit with everything she had been through and was still dealing with! I adored that Bobby not only was there for her, but also trained her and helped her with her confidence journey! The found family with the gym family and them taking in both her and her brother was great. There were some pieces that felt like they didn't quite connect with the rest of the story here and there, but overall I enjoyed the characters and this book!
