Judith Keim, A USA Today Best Selling Author, is a hybrid author who both has a publisher and self-publishes. Ms. Keim writes heart-warming novels about women who face unexpected challenges, meet them with strength, and find love and happiness along the way, stories with heart. Her best-selling books are based, in part, on many of the places she's lived or visited and on the interesting people that she's met, creating believable characters and realistic settings her many loyal readers love.
She enjoyed her childhood and young-adult years in Elmira, New York, and now makes her home in Boise, Idaho, with her husband and their two dachshunds, Kacy and Wally, and other members of her family.
While growing up, she was drawn to the idea of writing stories from a young age. Books were always present, being read, ready to go back to the library, or about to be discovered. All in her family shared information from the books in general conversation, giving them a wealth of knowledge and vivid imaginations.
Ms. Keim loves to hear from her readers and appreciates their enthusiasm for her stories.
Contemporary romance. A Christmas anthology by five different authors. The first book brings four young girls into a new foster home where they are introduced to each other. The girls become soul sisters and family. Subsequent books follow them as adults and into love.
Hailey was the youngest when the girls became family. At the time, she was uncertain about the world or her future. Hailey now has a successful career as a librarian and a children’s author. Spending the Christmas holidays with her family at the lodge is the springboard to romance and acknowledging her professional accomplishments.
Hailey and Nick spend a few days together after a snowstorm getting to know each other. They are cute and flirty as they skate, make snow angels, build a snowman, go sledding and make meals for each other. A clean and sweet romance that’s a lovely story for the holidays.
Years have gone by since four young girls found security and love in the home of Maddie, a young widow. Now grown, their lives are changing and one of the sisters is getting married at Christmas at the Cedar Mountain Lodge. Hailey plans on enjoying the holidays and the wedding with her family of the heart, until the wedding is called off. Determined to make the best of things, they decide to stay at the lodge.
For Hailey, the town librarian and secret children’s book author, it’ll be a time to relax, until Nick Hensley, a well-known rock star turns her world upside down. Seems he wants permission from the author to write songs to accompany the popular books. Must Hailey finally let the world know who she is? Is it possible that these two have their own special music to make together?
Judith Keim’s CHRISTMAS KISSES has that special warmth and glow of small town romances set during the most magical time of the year. Sweet as sugar plums, delightfully romantic, this tale will warm the coldest of hearts as each delightful page opens the doors to love when one least expects it!
I received a complimentary ARC edition from Judith Keim and Ev Bishop! This is my honest and voluntary review.
Series: Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge - Book 2 Publisher : Wild Quail Publishing (October 1, 2020) Genre: Holiday Romance Print Length : 153 pages Available from: Amazon | Barnes & Noble For Reviews, Giveaways, Fabulous Book News, follow: http://tometender.blogspot.com
This felt waaay too forced. The entire book takes place in the span of a week, and I feel like, they packed a year's worth of events & emotions into said 7 days. Who exchanges I love yous after 3 days? The story itself is sweet and the internal monologues are well written. The conversations were pedestrian and heavily contributed to the overall disagreeable pace in the story. Thanks to NetGalley and Wild Quail Publishing for my DRC.
This is book two of the series and is Hailey's story. Hailey is now working at the town library and is the author of a popular series of children's book. She still didn't have much self confidence so she wrote her books under a pseudonym and no one but her family knew that she was the author and illustrator. She is planning a wonderful Christmas holiday with her sisters and mom at Cedar Mountain Lodge and celebrating the marriage of her sister Alissa. When she sees Nick working at the Lodge, she's very excited. She's had a crush on him for years but he was a famous rock star who had quit touring and returned home to help his sister and his niece. She feels sparks when he's around but she knows that there's no way a star like him would be interested in a small town librarian. Will their interest in each other bring them both a happily ever after ?
Once again we spend time with Maddie and her four daughters. They are all great characters and their close relationship with each other is refreshing. Hailey learns a lot about life in this new story. She's my new favorite sister but we still have three more sisters to read about and I think they'll all end up in a tie for my favorite.
This book was gifted to me by Judith Keim. All opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this book so much and how this family is there for each other. This book takes off from where book 1 is but at the POV of Hailey.
Thank you to Judith Keim for sending this to me for review.
I cannot say enough good about this book and series. I love the Kirby family. They are so special, these soul sisters. In this book we have Alissa dealing with disappointment and joy. We learn a lot about Hailey in this segment. She is a librarian, but has a secret life. How will that work out? I loved finding out! Loved this story line and the people I met. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. I received an ARC of this book, but my opinion is my own.
Love this fun Christmas read. The “Soul Sisters” are a group of foster siblings who joined the home of their new mom right before Christmas. Fast years forward and the girls are grown up and gathering at Cedar Mountain Lodge to join their sister Alissa whose Christmas wedding has just been called off
Sister Hailey writes under the pen name Lee Merriweather. Her insecure childhood makes her timid when it comes To looking for love and afraid to open up to others. Fearing she will be liked for her author Persona rather than Her true self. When it seems Alissa’s wedding will move forward as planned, Hailey sees love made be possible
The book has sweet developed characters who are committed to their family with beautiful winter descriptions.
I received a compliment ARC of this book. Thank you to the author of this book
Ahhhhh…. Hallmark at its best. This is the made for TV storyline about love and Christmas. How four children who are very different, fatherless and motherless, find each other and the perfect mother. They are family in every sense of the word, standing with each other during the good times and the bad.
Winter wonderland scenes … serene snowcapped mountains with the illusion of peace and quite when in reality, a storm is brewing. A storm of emotions centering around a broken engagement, deep trust issues and fears. But above all, these sisters always are there for each other. Their ‘mother’ taught them wisely. They all are successful but always remember from where they came. Home is where the heart is.
Christmas Kisses features all of the family but Hailey is the main character. She’s known to the world as Lee Merriweather, a famous author and illustrator of children’s books. Very few people know Hailey and Lee Merriweather are one and the same. Hailey is way to insecure for that to be known. She’s simply the town librarian that reads to children. We follow her page by page through her insecurities, her fears, her doubts and her victories. We get to see how she overcomes those childhood fears that followed her into adulthood. We see her fall in love even as she questions if it’s real. We get to see Hailey Kirby and Lee Merriweather meld into one…. and then maybe, just maybe we’ll hear wedding bells chime softly through the wind.
💕 WISHES and OBSERVATIONS 👁º👁
… Wanted to know more about Hailey's background.... who are her birth parents? We know she was in at least two foster homes that went from bad to worse causing her lots insecurities, fear and trust issues. What we don't know is why and how she ended up there .... Just who is Hailey? Does she have any family at all lurking around?
… I kept wondering why Alissa's fiancé called the wedding off. We find out several chapters into the book.
… Nick was perfect. His character development was just deep enough to let the reader really know and understand him.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the second book in the Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge series about 4 sisters adopted by a lonely widow one year at Christmas. It is now 15 years later, and this book and the next books are about each member of the family. I love the way this family supports each other, and the characters all feel like people you may know. I can’t wait for the next book in the series! Be sure to read the first book to get the story of how they all came to be a family. The books are short and easy to read, as well as heart warming. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and Wild Quail Publishing. All opinions expressed are my own.
Hailey has huge trust issues, having been in two abusive foster homes before she’s adopted with her 3 other “soul sisters” Nick wants a relationship with Hailey, can she trust him? This is book two in a series, that is written by several different authors. A quick, enjoyable read that has me asking for the next book !
A superb book with an entertaining storyline filled with wonderful and caring characters that I enjoyed getting to know. I loved reading about Hailey and her family. Will definitely read the other books in this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Oh my goodness - loved it - I have found my new favourite author!!! This book had me from the first page - loved it - you definitely need to read this!

I received an ARC from Judith Keim for an honest review. There is so much to love about this book. In the first book of the series, Christmas Sisters, we meet Maddie. Maddie lost her husband and daughter in a car accident. As the holidays came closer Maddie decided she had to keep on living so she decided to become a foster Mom. As it turned out there were 4 girls who needed a home. Maddie welcomed all four of the girls. In book 2 of the series, Hailey is all grown up. I love the fact that we are going to get to see what happened to the girls. Hailey's journey shows us she went from a scared little girl, who always tried to be invisible to creating a life of kindness and love. She became a librarian and her love for all the children, she was wonderful at it. She read to them during story hour, and she read them special Charlie books. I sensed a hesitation with other adults though and I asked myself while reading, I wonder if she will find the courage to see herself as everyone else does. For you to find out, you must read the book. I will let you know, even though it is a Christmas book, there is a whirlwind of activity in the community that will take you to different areas in this town. Sometimes out in the cold, sometimes sitting by a nice cozy fire, and sometimes they are just having the time of their lives. They say Christmas but they are books for 2020 because so many of us have had setbacks this year and these books helped me realize that I had to keep moving and I did have the courage to move on. It was uplifting mental therapy. Thank you for this wonderful series.
I received an Advanced Reader copy of this book and it is the first story after the Novella that introduces us to the four sisters. This book tells the story of Hailey and Nick.
Hailey has a quiet soul and she is very careful whom she lets in to her inner self. I really enjoyed the story and how she found herself and that it is okay to let people in and know that not everyone judges you.
Nick also has some trust issues and it was fun watching him and Hailey work through their issues together.
This story is lighthearted and fun!
The location of the story sounds beautiful and you can picture yourself along with Hailey enjoying the beauty of Idaho.
I think this series is going to be great and I cannot wait for the next book!
Hailey Kirby started life in difficult circumstances until she was fortunate enough to spend her first Christmas with Maddie Kirby and three other girls that Maddie was fostering. The story of each girls’ early life with Maddie was told in Christmas Sisters, with each girl’s story written by the author who would also tell her adult tale in later books. Judith Keim tells Haley’s story in Christmas Kisses.
Hailey is the Granite Ridge children’s librarian with a secret identity – she writes very popular children’s books under a pen name and her books are loved by the children of Granite Ridge and their parents, and, in one case, an uncle. Musician Nick Hensley was a famous rock star until he gave it all up to return home. He still performs locally and writes music – his next project is to write music for those well-loved books. Little does he know that the beautiful librarian that he is falling in love with is also the author of the books he’s he so admires.
The only reference to Hailey’s life before Maddie is the fact that she had one foster home that “was not so good, the other was worse.” She never knew when she would get hit for something she said, so she rarely talked. Instead, she thought and the thoughts became stories. The Prologue repeats Hailey’s story from Christmas Sisters when she joined the Kirby household and then builds on these events to explain her adult trust issues and insecurities. I was glad that no other details of her harsh treatment in foster care were included in her story – too often authors feel the need to give more details than what are needed to show how miserable her life had been. What is important is what came after and the author does a wonderful job of showing how Hailey had grown and developed into a mature, confident person, thanks to Maddie and her soul sisters.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley. This review is my honest opinion - I enjoyed this book and will be purchasing the next books in the series.
Christmas Kisses...the second book in the Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge series...is written by author Judith Keim. In the first book of the series, Christmas Sisters, we are introduced to a young widow named Maddie, and the four young girls she adopts. Hailey was only eight-years-old when Maddie took her into her loving home, and this is her story.
Hailey is an assistant librarian at the Granite Ridge Library, and she is also the director for their children's programs. She loves reading to the children during story time, and she especially loves seeing the reaction of the children whenever she reads them a book written by Lee Merriweather. The reason behind that is because Hailey is the author Lee Merriweather. Only a few people know about Hailey's secret, and Hailey prefers it that way. However, as we all know, secrets never remain secrets for long because the truth is almost always revealed.
Nick Hensley is a successful rock musician that has been cheated out of money by his agent. Between that, and the recent death of his mother, Nick decides it is time to give up life on the road, and he returns to Granite Ridge to live a more quiet life. When he is not working at Cedar Mountain Lodge, he helps his sister Stacy with the family candy store, Hensley's Sweet Shoppe. Nick also loves spending time with his niece, Regan. Regan is obsessed with the children's book series written by Lee Merriweather. Nick has read them to her so many times that he knows them all by heart. After a suggestion by Hailey, he recently emailed the author to see if she would be interested in working with him to write some children's songs to go along with her books. What Nick does not know is that Hailey is actually Lee Merriweather.
The story that unfolds is the perfect feel-good holiday story. The book begins with the prologue detailing the holiday season when Hailey first went to live with her "soul sisters" and Maddie Kirby. Then we fast forward fifteen years later, and the soul sisters are now adults living on their own. Hailey is on vacation to help prepare for her sister's wedding at Cedar Mountain Lodge on Christmas Eve. However, everything is up in the air when Alissa's fiance suddenly calls off the wedding just days before the big day. Since everything is already planned and paid for, the family decides to still stay at the lodge, continuing the tradition of spending the holiday season together. Although this will not be the Christmas they were initially expecting, it will end up being a Christmas they will never forget!
Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge is a wonderful series so far, centering on the love and bond between family. While the Kirby family is not the traditional family related by blood, they are a testament to the fact that family is about so much more. The "soul sisters" have a bond that is unbreakable, and they genuinely love and respect one another. Judith Keim is a master at telling a story about family and love, and once again, she covers all of the bases with Christmas Kisses. So many people forget the true meaning behind Christmas, but so far, this series reminds us what is truly important...family, love and the ability to give.
I would like to thank Judith Keim for allowing me the opportunity to read and review an ARC of Christmas Kisses. My views are my own, and are in no way influenced by anyone else.

Christmas Kisses is the second book in the Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge series and I was drawn in from the beginning. This is Hailey's story and it had a wonderful storyline that showed us her life fifteen years after the first book, Christmas Sisters, ended. While the story didn't focus solely on her and her sisters of the heart along with their mom as I thought it would, it wove them throughout. We learn about Hailey's interests and what is important in her life now. Her interactions with Nick were tentative at first and as their attraction and chemistry grew, so did their focus.
I loved her secret life that she tried not to reveal to anyone but her family and understood Nick's hurt when he first learned of it. His relationship with his sister and niece were heartwarming and I loved how Hailey jumped in to help when she was needed. There was a nice romance especially with all the wonderful outdoor activities that Hailey and Nick participated in at the lodge. I loved the descriptions of the decorations and the festivities. There was a nice flow to the story as well as closure with an ending that made my heart sing.
Ms. Keim is a new to me author only having read one other book before her short story in Christmas Sisters. I hope to read more of her books since I enjoyed her writing style in the books I've read.
Christmas Kisses by Judith Keim Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge Book 2 Several years have gone by since Maddie took four girls into her home. Hailey has become the town librarian after returning to Granite Ridge after college. She is secretly a writer with the pen name Lee Merriweather, but only her sisters and Maddie know she is the author of several children’s books. Hailey’s sister, Alissa, was getting married at Cedar Mountain Lodge until her finance cancelled the wedding. Maddie and the four girls decided to have their Christmas at the lodge anyway. Hailey picks up chocolate covered caramel kisses from Hensley’s candy store for her sisters. She has always wished for real kisses. Hailey runs into Nick Hensley, who she had a crush on when in school, and feels a connection and sparks fly when they meet. She pretends she is his girlfriend to ward off other admirers at the Granite Bar. Nick was a rock star but returned home to help his sister with her candy store and also with his niece. Nick has a contract with the lodge to play and also wants to write music for the books of Lee Merriweather.
Will Hailey and Nick’s attraction to each other lead to actual kisses? And will Hailey realize she should not be afraid to embrace what life offers and trust Nick with the fact she is Lee Merriweather?
I received a complimentary Advance Reader Copy from Judith Keim for my unbiased review.
This is book two of The Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge and it is Hailey and Nick's story. Hailey is assistant librarian and director of children's programs at the library and she is also a really successful of children's books complete with the illustrations but under a anonymous name to keep her identity secret. Nick loved reading to his niece Regan and he especially liked the books that Hailey wrote even though he doesn't no it is her and he would also like to writer some music to go along with the books as he is a musician and plays the guitar as he was in a band but came home to be with his sister and niece. Hailey and Nick have great chemistry between them and have a true connection but will it be enough to forge a future together. This book has a really great story line and I loved reading about the different characters as well. Judith Keim is a brilliant author and writer and I look forward to reading more of her books as they are definitely worth reading.
Christmas Kisses Judith Keim is the 2nd book in the Soul Sister at Cedar Lodge Series. This is the first book after the prologue Christmas Sisters by different authors this book is written by Judith Keim one of my favorite authors. Ms. Keim does not disappoint with this book. Ms Keim wrote a wonderful story which drew me right in, making me forget everything else and did not let me go until I turned the last page. This was a quick and easy read. The story is heart warming and very touching. The vivid descriptions make you feel like you are right there with the characters. I absolutely love this series and can’t wait for the next book to come out. If you haven’t started this series what are you waiting for? You will not be disappointed.
I highly recommend this series and look forward to reading the future books. The Soul Sisters, Jo, Stevie, Alissa, and Hailey, have plans to vacation at Cedar Mountain Lodge with their mom and Nan for the wedding of Alissa and Jed. When Jed calls the wedding off, they decide to go anyway and just be there to support Alissa. This story centers around Hailey, assistant librarian at Granite Ridge, Idaho’s library and author and illustrator of children’s book. She writes under the name of Lee Merriweather. Nick works at the lodge and left a successful music career, when he came back to help his sister, Stacy with Hensley’s Sweet Shoppe and her daughter, Regan. Hailey has had a crush on Nick for years, but she knows she wants to stay local. Will they get better acquainted during her stay at the lodge? No spoilers, so grab your copy of this fantastic book and see what happens.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Hailey Kirby works as a children’s Librarian. She’s also a children’s author under a pen name. She loves to read books to the children. Nick Hensley, is a rock star musician who has decided to quit the band and move home to be with his sister and niece. Nick and Hailey run into each other quite a bit being in the small town of Granite Ridge. Hailey is excited to spend Christmas with her mom and sisters. Nick works at Cedar Mountain Lodge. He wants to write songs for Lee Merriweather., He doesn’t know it’s Hailey. He wants her to hear them. As their friendship moves to something stronger, will Nick understand why she didn’t tell him who she was? Will he let her go? Will they walk away? I loved this story. It’s sweet, romantic kind of story. It’s worth the read
The first book in this series gives you a glimpse into the beginning of what is sure to be a beautiful family - four girls are taken in by an amazing and absolutely wonderful Maddie after the loss of her husband and daughter. These four girls are destined to become “soul sisters”.
Hailey, one of the youngest of this group, has a pretty sad story and it has given her some understandable insecurities. I love when she mentions how she’d loved “going from someone nobody wanted to one of the Kirby girls”. It is obvious that the years as a Kirby girl have given her more confidence than she realizes, but when the story opens she has a ways to go before she realizes she is ready to let the world know who she really is. Nick helps her take the last steps to accepting herself and her need to live her life openly and honestly. It is lovely watching Nick and Hailey’s story unfold and getting to see glimpses of the other Kirby Girls. I very much look forward to seeing what is in store for all of these lovely ladies!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Sweet and Clean Christmas Romance This is the second book in a series about a family of four adult sisters. They are all meeting at a mountain lodge for the wedding of one sister. The story is the romance of the youngest sister. Most of the other family members are barely in the story at all. The story is sweet and clean. I was disappointed that the story was not very deep. Even the joy and angst of several of the characters never were expressed well enough to generate smiles or compassion. The story was entertaining and I do want to read the rest of the series. I received this ARC book for free from Booksprout and this is my honest review.
Set around Christmas and New Year's, this sweet romance follows the youngest of Maddie's four adopted daughters, Hailey, and the local singer who's been her crush for years, Nick. Add in sweets from the local candy store, a secret identity, some family drama around her sister's nuptials, and a couple adorable children at the library's story hour, and you've got a sure-fire heartwarming romance that cuts through all the usual angst to give us a winning love story that's as charming as it is fast-paced.
I truly enjoyed this story, though I was expecting a bit more drama and depth to the relationship. Not all romances need heartbreak, however, and Hailey and Nick's quick path to love doesn't feel quick at all when we realize they've grown up knowing each other in their small home town. For these two wary lovers, it was exactly what they needed.
As the first couple's story to be told, we're also given a peek into Alissa and Jed's turbulent, on-again-off-again engagement, though their full story is waiting for its own book in this enchanting series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. You can purchase your copy here: https://www.amazon.com/Christmas-Kiss... It was 33 degrees here this morning! We are trying to make it until the book release before we turn on our heat here, so yes, I will indulge in yet another Christmas book because other than Christmas and the hope to ski this year, what does cold weather bring us? Less daylight? Christmas cookies, Thanksgiving, more food that I will have to work harder to work off. Nope, I am going to stay positive and indulge in Christmas books! This was such a great book! It is the second book in the series. We begin this book with Hailey Bennett wondering what to do. Her new foster mother, Mrs. Kirby had asked her and the other three girls to write a letter to Santa. She decided that she would ask for a puppy with lots of kisses. Hailey had a long road to get where she was. She had been told that her mother had died when she was just four years old and they did not know how to find her father. Hailey’s new foster mother tried really hard to make her feel at home, but it is so hard to trust anyone after such a hard life. Her new foster mother presented her with a stuffed dog to represent the future of getting a real one after the holidays. Hailey immediately named her Charlie. Mrs. Kirby also have her a new nightgown and surprised her with the news that the next day they would be going Christmas shopping so they could get gifts for the other girls from them. They had never done such a thing. The other kids even saved cookies for her to decorate. We are then fast forwarded to Hailey as an adult reading to children in the library. She has a secret; she has a pen name- Lee Merriweather. Ms. Merriweather was very popular as an author, something a foster child would not be OK with. Most of the books were written about a boy named, Charlie. Charlie and his three friends would get into all sorts of trouble and learned a life lesson or two from them including a happy ending. Hailey’s sister, Alissa had been dumped by her fiance’, Jed just days before their Christmas Eve wedding. Travel arrangements had already been made and accommodations. We are then taken on a journey of Hailey and her pen name and someone discovering it and well..you will just have to read it to find out the rest. I cannot wait for the next book in the series and to go back and read the first book in this series! I read this book in one afternoon! Was such a quick and cute read!

I really hope there will be spin offs of this series because I love it. It follows the lives of each girl after they grew up in Muddy's home. This story is from Hailey's point of view. I love the sense of family and traditions. I can hardly wait until the next book comes out.
This is the second book in the series "Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge". The first book focuses on Maddie fostering/adopting 4 girls right before Christmas time. Fast forward 15 years. It is the story based on Hailey. Hailey is a librarian and writer of children's books but uses a pen name so no one knows it's her. She doesn't want to be judged for her work. The family is going to the local lodge for a winter vacation during Christmas and New Years to celebrate the wedding of one of the sisters. A lot happens in a week span and Hailey reconnects with someone from along time ago and finds love at first sight. I really enjoy these quick reads where the books focus on one of the characters in the first book. It really helps you learn who they are instead of trying to build character development of so many characters.
I absolutely adore the concept of the Soul Sisters books. Christmas Kisses was a great read! I love how Hailey came into herself as she got older and didn't let her past define her.
A book about second chances, family and relationships. I didn’t read the first book in the series but I don’t feel like I am missing out on getting to know the characters. Speaking of which, they are fabulous. Two opposites, wanting a relationship but not believing the other would want them. A must read.
