A Companion Book To Fallocaust #6

Garden of Spiders 2 House of Flies Volume 1 Part 2

Rate this book
Of all the punishments to give, this has to be the most humiliating.
Stripped of his title, kicked out of his apartment, and without a cent to his name, Elish Dekker is now homeless. The former Heir of Skyfall and most of his brothers are being forced by King Silas to make their own way, and they won’t be allowed back until they’ve proven that they appreciate everything Silas has done for them.
But something is off about Silas’s explanation over how the Crown became bankrupt, and the fact that Silas kept Elish in the dark over Skyfall’s dire financial state, and now refuses to speak to him, hurts Elish more than he cares to admit. The man that Elish wants to one day marry won’t speak to him, yet Sanguine is free to slither around Silas’s apartment like the snake he is.
However, Elish is about to have bigger issues, because a series of unfortunate events is going to have him showing up beaten and starved on the doorstep of a certain former greywaster that has already caused the ex-prince an abundance of problems.

And while Elish is both recovering and trying to keep his sanity around this new hyperactive roommate, Sanguine is on the warpath. Now confident of the skeletons inside of Silas's closet and still hellbent on punishing the king for Valen’s death, Sanguine is determined to make life miserable for Silas as much as he can.
Unfortunately, life is already miserable for Silas, who is deep in one of his depressive episodes. Silas rarely gets out of bed and with most of the family homeless or struggling to deal with a new wave of hostility in Skyfall, the once mighty king has been left to wallow.
But Silas will not be wallowing alone, although he’s going to wish he was. With Sanguine’s own caustic resentment destroying him from the inside out, Sanguine is beginning to let his most depraved desires take hold. Determined to break Silas and expose his lies to the family, Sanguine is going to cross lines never before crossed and feed well the demon alter who only wants to see the world burn.

I have no words! I’m truly speechless 😶 I need to gather my thoughts.

Ok, I’ve gathered my thoughts.

As I’ve said before, I think I like the now Drake more than the “then” Drake. I don’t blame Valen for doing what he did, he was clearly provoked.

Absolutely love this series. And yes…even the tears that came around 95%.

“You expect sympathy from all of us, yet the moment we lose our footing, you attack, you condemn, you lord yourself upon us and kick dirt in our tear-filled eyes. Every one of us carries scars, but only you see our scars as entry points.”

This could be said by many about so many. I think that’s why it struck me so hard.

Cannot wait for the continuation.

Outstanding

Having read all of the Fallocaust books, this one has been by far my most favorite. Each book gave me something and pulled me in deeper but this book gave me it all. Every emotion screamed out from each page. Quil Carter is just an amazing writer! Thank you Quil and once again I wait with bated breath for the next book.

Holy fuck the ending. The ending. I don't even know how I feel about this.
Seeing the events that lead to the Elish we meet in Breaking Jade.
Reading more about Silas and sky in the days after the Fallocaust.
Crow and Sanguine.
Drake.
I have more questions than answers.
So many questions.

Wow. This book was full of surprises. So many unexpected turns of events that had my mind spinning. Only Quil Carter could create a world this fucked up. I loved it!

I've had mixed feelings about the majority of the characters depending on the book and timeline, but the one constant has been that I despise Silas. I've never felt bad for him and the ending of this book and poor Elish? I can't hate Silas anymore...I truly hope that he gets a just ending at the end of this series and all the other characters (except Sky) get an hea.

So darned good!

Secrets are revealed. Back stories are filled in. The secrets to Valentine's death is uncoveted.
You do not want to miss this pivotal story. It's some of the best writing I've read. Quil has penned a masterpiece!

loved this!

V1P1 brought us ‘here’! And ‘here’ was a great ride! Some questions answered and lots of anticipation for Volume 2! I’m wondering if anyone else shed a few tears @95%?

It got better nearing the second half of the book. I guess having Silas as the villain again does make it more interesting. I'm rooting for Elish and I loved the final scene with him and Sanguin. But Silas, no matter his background story and im sure it must have been tragic and all, but what I really don't like about him is how he uses others when he needs it, jet isn't there when others need him. Weither with Reaver, Elish or Reno, he uses them when he feels sorry for himself with no thought to how they must feel. It really makes me hate him and I don't see that changing and it's one big difference between him and Killian that has me rooting for Killian and Reaver and dreading Silas trying to get between them. So I guess I was releaved to see him seen as the badguy again at the end of this companionbook. I felt it could have been shorter though, to much domestic stuff happening with not enough action I think, it's hard to pinpoint why I didn't like it as much as the other books of this series.
But darn Quil, you do know you left us with a cliffhanger in the present timeline and the main books, right? It's hard enough reading one, let alone two whole books that took place in the past and leave us waiting for the main story to continue and now you have a third (aka vol2) that's no doubt going to be a long one as wel?! You better not intend to make that as long as this one that it requers you splitting them up as well! I might be curious about Elish going off the deep end and setting up his masterplan and all, but at least give us an update out of the flashbacks and his book and let us know what's happening in the present! Like, a little snippet of how Jade is reacting to what Elish reads him? Are there others listening as well? Does Elish still care about that? I wanna see Reaver and Killian reunited as well, I wanna see Reaver angry at Silas voor taking his dads from him and giving him false hope for selfisch reasons!

And when, oh, when will you continue the Gods Games series? It's my newest favorite, possibly alltime favorite if you manage to finish the series! I can't wait to read again about Ben, Teal and Malagant!

Please keep up the writing! There is so much more I look forward to to reading from you! One of the best gay fantasy writers out there if you ask me.

Finally after two years I'm here! This is now officially my most favorite book series of all times! If I were to be stranded in an abandoned island and could only pick one series to bring it would be Fallocaust!
Anyway, Idk whyyy the people who've lived with Elish all their lives, all HIS life, would call him emotionless a unhuman. Specially in his earlier days! How could they EVER compare him to Silas in cruelty?? Specially Jack? I understand him being angry at Elish but the amount of pure hatred he's been showing?? It doesn't make sense! They're all so brainwashed it's infuriating. This is why I like Kilian the most. The boy knows his loyalties. And kinda want to strangle Reaver. Ugh.

Can't wait for Vol.2. I kept stalling as much as I could but I still feel soo sad that there's no more Fallo books to read for a while :'( I'll probably reread the first two books or start The Gods' Games for the time being.
Thank you Quil Carter for writing these amazing books and creating this amazing world and amazing characters. I want this series to go on foreveeer I love it so much and feel so attached to all of the characters after two years of living in their world.
Oh btw, Silas really knew what he was doing by creating Jade the way he did, didn't he? ;) Making him a perfect mixture of all things most annoying and most lovely for Elish. Makes me giddy every time I discover a new thing about it.

Stunning End amazing writing!

This was a super freaking amazing addition to the series.

So much back story and epic scenes in this story. Also the writing is moving and in many places so poetic and beautiful.

Every book I say it can’t get better it just can’t get better l, and it does!!

I was good

I liked a lot of it but I also struggled a lot, mostly on Elish's chapters. Seems like not having Jade around makes me lose a bit of interest in him. I liked Sanguine's chapters a bit more, even if I wanted to kick him in the head a few times. I loved Jack. I always do.
