Henry Neumann was a shifter with a plan.

Get the powerful Pictish stone, the box of essence, rescue Nicole, and get everyone off the island and back to Seattle.

No plan survives contact with the enemy, especially if Stryker is involved.

Back in Seattle, darkness is filling the sky.

The ancient goddess, Kunith, is loose. In a gnarly twist, the ancient being, Stryker might be the only chance they have to bring her down. Can he be trusted?

Getting everyone to safety is Henry’s main concern but when they step through a portal, Henry finds himself in a Seattle he doesn’t recognize.

He’s in a dangerous parallel universe and Kunith is free to prey on Henry’s hometown.

He will need more help than the team he has formed.

Will the Midnight Collective aid them? Will the Pict relic Henry possesses play a role? Who can control its power?

Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.

I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.

There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

Thank you for checking out my stories!

Wow!

Henry, Winter, and the gang, really go through it in this book!

With the Dark Goddess, Kunith, having hissy-fits right, left, and centre, it's all Henry can do, to keep them all alive, let alone undamaged.

But, when Kunith distorts a Portal, just as Henry and his gang are using it to escape from all the madness caused by the Midnight Collective, plus Kunith and Bechtel Stryker, Henry and his crew are sent to multiple dimensions - and it's going to take all of them every single shred of what wits that
they have, after everything they've been through, to survive, and to try and find their way back home, once more!

This book had a different feel to it than the previous ones but, although everyone ended in different places, it gave us, the readers, time to get to know each of them so much better than before.

As usual, this was a fast-paced read, but it kept my attention from beginning to end.

I don't know what'll happen next, but I'll be going straight onto book five: 'Watchman', after I've finished this review, to see for myself.

So, I'll begin the next part of Henry's adventures, then I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!

<<>> Unbelievable, Riveting and Downright Awesome

I got waylaid, somehow, and never got around to reading the last two books of this series, despite the fact I pre-ordered them before they came out. Also, it seems I never offered a review of this book, so I’m rectifying that mistake now.

In many ways I’m simply speechless. In other ways I feel much like Sahved from Craig Martelle’s Judge, Jury and Executioner series and simply want to pile the most superlative of all superlatives, one atop the other, in a clamboring scramble to verbally out-do each of my preceding sentences. This series is just that good.

In previous reviews I have called this Martha and Mike’s best work ever, and I’m going to stand by those statements. This truly takes on some significant stature when one considers the sheer volume of work they have individually and collaboratively produced. That being said, some of their current work is definitely challenging this series for primacy, but that particular squabble will be settled only by time.

Do not bother trying to read this series out of order. You could, but there are so many plot threads, so many shades of interpersonal engagements reflecting both growing affections and ever greater disdain between the many characters, that the reader would lose out on all the detail that makes his series so incredible.

My last thought I want to share is my complete and utter awe at the scope of imagination these two demonstrate in their writing. This particular episode takes on already incredible story and then does something even more incredible with it. Dare I say, even, that it’s inconceivable (alla Vizini from A Princess Bride).

Trust me, this is one you don’t want to miss!
