Blum's Bees #3

Run For Your Honey

Rate this book
Twelve years ago, my first and only love left town and never came back.

How dare he show up now, looking like that.

And he’s running against me for mayor.

It’s unfair, him standing there, too tall and handsome for his own good. It’s audacious that his clothes accentuate every lean, strong curve of his body. It’s universal BS that his smile makes my heart flipflop, and it’s patently un-freaking-believable that my body would betray me when he turns that gorgeous smile on me.

I’ll do whatever it takes to win, and he knows it.

But when he kisses me, all bets are off.

If I win, he leaves.

If he wins, I lose.

And either way, he breaks my heart.

I was the kid who stayed inside to read.

As a four-eyed nerd with a bad perm, I was no one’s dodgeball pick, but I had a lot of friends. Frodo and Bilbo, for instance. Kristy, Stacey, Claudia and the gang (iykyk). Once, in the third grade, I wrote a teen murder mystery inspired by Christopher Pike. On solving my mystery in twelve pages, I decided I was a terrible writer and should never, ever do that again.

Fortunately, I didn’t take my own advice.

I write romance for that feeling you get at the end, like you’re standing on top of a mountain with a backpack full of hundred dollar bills. I write romcoms because is there anything better than banter and grand gestures? I write because I love to create and I love words. I love books, and I love stretching my imagination. I love love, and if you do too, bring your coffee and have a seat. I think we’re gonna be friends.

“I loved you too much to ever hate you.”

Small town romance, enemies to lovers, second chance, and Staci Hart. It was a great combination! I adored Run For Your Honey.

Poppy Blum is the third Blum sister’s book and I couldn’t want to get to it. I love this small town and all it’s characters. Poppy’s two older sisters have defied the Blum curse and found love, but not Poppy. She was in love once, twelve years ago, but then he went to college and never came back. Though now he is…

Duke is back in the small town he grew up in for one reason. He’s running for mayor. He’s doing this because he’s in politics and it’s the next step. But wait a second… the person running against him is none other than his ex, Poppy Blum. Poppy is the one that got way for Duke, but he had to let her go. She was destined to stay in the town with her family, and he had greater aspirations.

I’m going to be honest and say it took a while for Duke to grow on me. Like almost half of the book… I was weary of him at first, but I grew to love him and understand him. Poppy I loved from the start and that didn’t change as the book went on!

This book was short, sweet, with just the right amount of steam. If you’re looking for a firecracker heroine, and a small town romance with lots of charm, pick up Run For Your Honey.

I think I wasted my time reading this book, sorry not sorry. Duke was totally irredeemable in my eyes. He claimed to love Poppy so much but he was too selfish to give up sabotaging her reputation when he knew that she was the best candidate all because he was worried that he will lose his job in the city. I continued the story in hopes that he would get a good character development but instead we get a sudden accident which Duke is involved in and Poppy suddenly forgiving him and declaring her undying love for him after he tried to not only character assasinate her but also her mother and sisters. I have never disliked an mmc in a book more than this one because he was a downright asshole and a loser. The only saving grace was Poppy's relationship with some people in the town and her dynamics with her mom and sisters. Seriously guys if you cannot tolerate an irredeemable H, do not waste your time on this one.

Favorite Quotes:

I thought of about twenty things I should have said. At least five of them were such intense burns, he would’ve needed skin grafts to recover.

Uber Stan… He didn’t actually work for Uber, just passed out a card with his phone number and told us all to text him if we needed a ride. Even made a fake Uber sign for his back window. Nobody told him that wasn’t quite how it worked, too proud of the sweet old man for managing to figure out texts and Venmo to break his heart.

Evangeline sighed and rolled her eyes. “God, sometimes I’m so thankful I’m not attracted to men. Y’all are dumber than a bag of hair.”

It’s so strange, being with him. It’s like a time machine back to when things were simpler and a glimpse into a future I can’t have. And I’m caught there in that place of wishes and lost dreams. I can’t make myself walk away.

My Review:

I think each new book I read by this author is her best and my favorite until I read the next one. Run For Your Honey is definitely my favorite, for now. The dichotomy of the characters’ conflict was perfectly pitched and so real it felt tangible. The amusing storylines were laced with broad humor, breath-stealing steam, and keen snark. I am not exaggerating when I say I adored every well-chosen word. I smirked and giggle-snorted my way through this well-nuanced and evocative read and finished with a sigh. Staci Hart has crazy good skills and I greedily covet and plan to amass, all her clever and entertaining arrangements of words.

Run For Your Honey is book 3 of the “Blum’s Bees” series by author Staci Hart. It is a standalone romance. 1st person, told from both POV with a HEA.

Tropes:
✔️ friends, to enemies to lovers
✔️ Small town
✔️ Second chance

Twelve years ago, Poppy and Duke fell in a forever kind of love, until Duke left town choosing a full ride to an Ivy league school over Poppy and now he’s back running for mayor against her.

The antagonism between them produces delicious tension and sparks that promise to turn into a blazing inferno, but can they find a way to navigate their complex relationship?

I breezed through this read, it was delightfully entertaining and well-paced. I loved Poppy’s sassiness and conviction to help her town.

My heart hurt for her and Duke, I felt their connection and longing, the sweet and spicy nature of their bond, but I just couldn’t stand by most of Duke’s decisions.

Although I skipped book 2 and will definitely go back to it, I loved the entire Bloom family and how this book capped off their stories.

★ I own a copy of this book. The excerpts are from that copy. I am voluntarily reviewing this title.

The HIGHLY anticipated conclusion to the Blum's Bees series did not disappoint!! I loved getting to know Poppy better and her second chance, rivals to lovers romance with Duke, her first love and mayoral competitor was equally hilarious and heartfelt!

Full of all the small town Texas charm we've come to expect from the series and lots of returning characters. This book does work as a standalone but you'll appreciate the story more after reading about Jo and Daisy's stories.

A dual POV, open door romance that is perfect for fans of Fool me once or Meet you in the middle. I am completely OBSESSED with this cover and sped through the book so fast! Much thanks to the author for getting it out into the world despite numerous life challenges. The wait was 100% worth it!

A pitch perfect, heartfelt, and effortlessly swoony finale to this adorable series! Run For Your Honey is so very sugary and sweet. In a world full of chaos and adversity, Staci Hart delivers a story brimming with the hope and vitality we all need, an optimistic and replenishing escape. This series is truly the bee’s knees- charming and resplendently romantic in every way. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to the lovable sisters Blum, but what a dreamy and meaningful farewell. My heart is more than full- its overflowing.

This story is short and sweet and blissfully focused on the love-hate chemistry between Poppy Blum and her ex-high school sweetheart Duke, also her opposing mayoral candidate. And oh what fun- the small town politics, the Blum sister antics, the uproarious opposing candidate shenanigans, and so much Blum banter. But despite the quirky fun and charm, as always Staci infuses so much emotional depth. Time, space, and politics aren’t the only chasm between these two, both have been fielding deeply broken hearts. And that heartbreak has only festered and deepened. Love has blurred into hate and back into love- but the passion has never faded. Our perfectly sassy, opinionated, and so very adorable Blum sister and her surprisingly dreamy ex have a lot of baggage two work through- all while trying to one-up the other in the race.

I just adored these two. Their fire is matched only by their sweetness. Poppy is a spitfire- sassy, passionate, and driven, she’s a FORCE, and I loved how well matched she was by Duke. He’s more stoic, more restrained, but I adored how easily he opened his heart up to her. Duke has made some mistakes, but he won me over instantly. He’s got a real emotional vulnerability with Poppy that’s so sexy. His self-awareness of the impact of his actions and his adoration of Poppy make him likely the dreamiest of the Blum boyfriends. He’s epically swoony. I deeply felt their connection, even though we saw little of their past, and their mutual heartbreak was truly palpable. Not only did their longing permeate my heart, I found myself longing for them too. Their passion, their kindness, their gentle hearts were perfectly made for each other. And I loved their chemistry- sugar and spice. Tender and explosive. There was SO much heart to their story, I fell madly in love with them.

Staci packs so much into this story, yet it’s effortlessly breezy and low angst. Not only do we get satisfying closure for Poppy and Duke, but we have everything we’ve come to love about the Blum’s Bees world and Lindenbach, Texas. All the sisters and their men get moments, our secondary characters all make perfectly needed appearances, Bettie makes some pie, we get another Lindenbach dance and Blum performance, and even Mama gets a slice of happy with a full circle finale that brings all back to the notorious Blum curse. Not to mention, Staci gives us LOADS of spice. But best of all, Staci hits us yet again with another dose of her poignant and insightful look into our humanity that she delicately weaves into her light-hearted stories. Duke and Poppy remind us that while growth isn’t always easy, in fact it’s hella messy, and that the world around us can sometimes be incredibly hard, that the path forward is often the easiest, most straightforward of all. Love, y’all. It’s love. We just have to stop making it harder than it has to be- just lean in, and love.

5 STARS

Staci Hart delivered another charming small town romance. This one with all the enemies to lovers goodness I crave.

What I loved:
1. The antagonism between Poppy and Duke was so great. I loved the banter and jabs at each other. There is a thin line between love and hate and these two show that.
2. Poppy is so sweet. She has conviction in spades and integrity. I just loved her as much as the rest of the Blum family.
3. Duke made me want to punch him but I also loved him. For me, he was very much a “Sweet Home Alabama” character. Ran away from his small home town to make something of himself but recognizes what he is missing.
4. I sped through this one. I found it to be charming and entertaining.
5. The pacing, for me, was good. Without giving away spoilers, I will say that the grovel was almost nonexistent. Why didn’t this bother me? The event she uses to get them back together makes sense. Something so big would make me also forgive things. There is an HEA for all.

What I needed more of:
1. The brother got off too easy, but since he was a secondary character it didn’t affect my overall rating.

This was a great ending to the Blum Sister trilogy. Each standalone was sweet and romantic and filled with all the shenanigans I love from a small town.

i really, really loved this book. it was rough around the edges & hard to read a lot of the time, but only staci could make me love a character like duke. this book is full of second chances, learning how to be who were meant to be, not giving up, owning up to our mistakes, & loving the people we call family. honestly, i’m never getting over it.

It's the final Blum sister's book and I gotta say I felt kinda sad when I started reading this book. Knowing that it was the last sister to get their HEA had me already missing the world that Staci Hart had built in Lindenback, Texas. She has created something special with these 33 sisters and the small town and all it's characters we've gotten to know over the course of these books.

Run For Your Honey was Poppy Blum's story and this was an enemies to lovers with a second chance romance between her first love from high school, Duke that has returned to run against Poppy in the local Mayor race. Once Duke left, he didn't look back and has been working on being successful and getting into politics. When he returns to Lindenbach, he thinks he has this in the bag because this is what he's been training for. But Poppy will do anything to keep in local and protect the people and town she has never left. Their battle is fierce.

Over the course of the series, I've gotten to know Poppy and all the Blum ladies. They are opinionated, spitfires, and are loyal to their town and what it is built from. I was going to root for her no matter what. But you always want to see your characters happy. And it wasn't that Poppy wasn't happy, it was just that she wanted something her sisters had found. Was she ever going to find it in LIndenbach?
When Duke road in with all his smugness, I gotta say, I was not a fan. In actuality, it took me quite awhile to get on board with him. I know I can trust Staci Hart to lead me in the direction that I need to go, but it was more difficult with this character. Ms Hart can write small town and she can create something out of nothing with her poetically beautiful, yet humorous writing, so I just had to trust.

All in all, this was a solid, albeit shorter book to end the Blum Sisters journey and I enjoyed seeing the Mayor race and the ups and down of each event. Poppy held her own against someone that was bread for politics and I loved that she never backed down, even to the bitter end. And while I'm not always a fan of second chance romances, Staci Hart has a way of changing my mind on tropes with the way she writes them. Bravo to a good ending to these sisters, but I'm sad that their stories are over. Just tell me that we will see Lindenbach again soon. I don't think I'm done with the town and certain brothers. ;)

Poppy will do anything for her family and her hometown and that includes campaigning to be the mayor so that she can correct the mistakes of the previous regime. The last person she expected to see campaigning against her was her first love who leave her devastated more than a decade earlier.

Duke has returned to his hometown to become the mayor, but he has a much bigger agenda at play. He is much different from the man who left all those years earlier and is determined to win but the more time he spends with her the more he becomes conflicted between his feelings for Poppy and the career he wants.

This story has everything you could want and more. Witty banter, characters you will love and hate, family, a love that has been dormant but not destroyed and all the feels.

This was an emotional at times second chance romance, set in the small town of Lindenbach, TX which I’ve come to love over the past few books in the series.

Poppy and Duke were in love once upon a time, but that ended when Duke left for college and never came back. Poppy’s running for mayor after the last tumultuous couple years the town has faced, and Duke shows up, twelve years after leaving, to run against her.

Though it’s fairly one sided, there’s a definite enemies to lovers vibe here I enjoyed. I also especially enjoyed Jo’s hatred of Duke and Grant going along with whatever Jo felt! I love that Poppy was a reluctant politician, stepping up because someone has to rather than a lifelong dream of being mayor. It is, of course, filled with the author’s beautifully written prose and unique voice.

The problem for me was I could never get over my dislike of Duke. He was a pretty one dimensional politician robot man, sacrificing anyone and everyone he could in the pursuit of a political office.

Overall I did enjoy it because I love the Blum family and their town! But it was hard at times to ignore Duke.

Though we’ve reached the end of the Blum’s Bees series, I’m hopeful for more from this town! We could use stories for Keaton’s brothers, Evan’s, and I would especially love Wyatt’s story (maybe WITH Evan?).

This was almost a last minute kind of alert about this one coming out and I was lucky enough to get a review copy. I have loved this whole series, For Love Or Honey and On the Honey Side. And I’m sad to see it ending. Even if that means that now the whole cursed family has found their happily ever after. It’s always fun spending time with the characters and couples we met and grew to love in their own tales, and I love how they add to the new story. Finally Poppy got her turn, but she also had to deal with Duke, not only an enemy – running for mayor against her, but he was also her ex, so it was second chance romance as well. But the attraction between the two showed itself in so many ways, everyone around them could see it. Even when they denied it, and claimed it was hate, anyone who knew the two could see the heat between them. Of course that led to a lot of steamy moments, as well as some hilarious banter and missteps for the two of them.

The little extra competitions that Duke found in old bylaws for the town were hilarious. First was the cow roping. Then all the ones they did for fun at the fair, pie eating being one example. Once again Staci Hart has made me laugh and love and cry and feel all the feels with her story. I will miss the people in the small Texas town of Lindenbach, but hope that maybe we get time with these characters in future stories!

"Were we destined to lose each other over and again, or was there a future for us? I knew the answer was yes, but one of us would have to sacrifice everything to get there."

Humor that only the Blum sisters can bring with some heart-felt and steamy elements of second-chance and enemies-to-lovers for the final Blum's Bees story.

I adore Poppy and the Blum's, but I couldn't stand Duke. His character and actions all left a sour taste. Poppy is just as kindhearted as she is fierce, and while she could forgive Duke, I couldn't. A lot of elements of the story were enjoyable, but he really brought it down for me.

I just really couldn’t get over my dislike for Duke. I didn’t think he did anything or maybe just didn’t do enough to be redeemable. He said sorry a lot but he was doing actions that hurt her until the end. The fact he dated that girl Poppy thought he cheated on her with immediately after him and Poppy broke up just *really* bugged me, and I hated that he claimed he loved Poppy too much when I felt like his actions consistently said the opposite.

Run For Your Honey by Staci Hart is everything I have come to expect of the Blum sisters. Poppy is sassy, fiery and power packed heroine. And Duke brings all the alpha seductive charm with contrasting vulnerability. It has heavy dose of swoon and heartache with spicy goodness. This enemies to lovers second chance small town romance gives me all the dreamy, adorable and soul deep feels. And I cannot have enough of Staci Hart's incredible writing.

Poppy Blum is ready to run in the mayoral race of their small town Lindenbach. People love her for the loud voice of justice and fairness and some people also hate her. It would be a close race. But everything is messed up when Duke Daniles saunters back in the town after twelve years. Her highschool love, her first heartbreak, the man she really never got over and now her enemy. He is now this hotshot lawyer and he will do anything to win the race.Their feelings are colliding with their fight and it is a proper mess.

Gahhh this book is just amazing. I freaking love the Blum sisters. They are a close knit colourful bunch and they are awesome. Poppy is the best of them. Her personality is pure fire but she also has this untamed kindness. She is ready to fight for something or someone she cares for. She has a soft heart behind her witty and fiery exterior. And Duke broke it years ago. She didn't really recover. Now the question is, do we love or hate Duke? At first, I have to hate him because I am Team Poppy. Sister solidarity, guys! He blazed in town with his suave arrogant c0cky personality, ready to crush Poppy's dream and heart..so I cannot love him. But trust Staci Hart to turn this man into my book husband crush! He has been running since the day he left town for Law school. For money, for fame, for power and for changing his parents' life for better. Returning here made him realise how much he missed everything. Specially Poppy. Now I cannot stay mad at an alpha man who is not averse to grovelling. He is so good at it. Obviously it cannot be easy. He is torn between his career and his heart. Their physical connection was back instantly like he never left. Holy hotness slow burn turning into a nuclear explosion. But Poppy didn't let him come close emotionally easily. She had to let go her pain and anger first. Then there was the question of the race. But love always wins. I laughed and swooned with them. I clutched my chest and fell hard for this amazing love story. I loved being back to this adorable town. I loved meeting the Blum sisters and their men again. Staci Hart managed to make this story a swoon fest and an angst fest at the same time. This is one of the best enemies to lovers romance I have read.

Poppy's first love, biggest heartbreak is back in town, and even worse, running for mayor against her! He never looked back, never contacted her, never apologized, and now he has the nerve to waltz back into their small town and wants to be mayor?! Not on her life - she's the one who loves this town, who has its best interests at heart, who stayed. But when it's apparent their chemistry is still as hot as ever, she can't resist him any longer. She'll just have to make sure she keeps her heart out of it this time, or she'll end up even worse off than she was the last time he left.

Duke's career has always been his first priority, it's why he left this small town and never looked back. But now that he's here, where his first and only love lives, his focus may be shifting. He's now faced with a choice - do whatever it takes to win, including smearing Poppy and her family's name, or quit the race and bask in the feelings he and Poppy have found with each other again. One leads to the dream career, and one leads to the dream life. What to do...

I am so sad the Blum women's stories have come to an end. But what a story to go out with! Poppy is amazing - has a huge heart, a feisty, sassy mouth, and she and her family are #familygoals. I wanted her to find love, love that she so deserved, but I have to admit, I had my reservations about the guy she found it with. Duke was a dick for most of the story, even as funny and snarky as their banter was, and I felt as if he didn't grovel enough (or at all), but Poppy loved him so he got a pass because of it, and only because of it. I have truly loved being in this small town with these amazing women and the residents of their community, and I'm going to miss all of them.

It’s been said that the Blum women are cursed. Every man [they’d] ever loved had either died or left and never came back. Well, it seems the curse has been broken because Jo found love in For Love or Honey and Daisy found love in On the Honey Side. However, Poppy is the last single sister and hasn’t been lucky in love. Her high school love moved away and never came back.

Now, she is an advocate of the town and is running for mayor. She is optimistic that she can beat her competition until a ghost from her past shows up back in town, running for the same position. Duke left Poppy and never came back…until now. She may have loved him once but now he is the enemy and she refuses to lose to him.

Run For Your Honey is an entertaining and original mix of enemies-to-lovers and second chances and I loved it!! Poppy and Duke are no longer friends and when he shows up in town there is a lot of hate radiating from Poppy. She doesn’t want anything to do with him but while running for the same position they end up bumping into each other often. And those interactions start stirring old feelings.

There is so much sexual tension when it comes to Poppy and Duke and it is well written. It was only a matter of time before they combusted and when they do, it is hot. They need to get each other out of their systems because the attraction they had from long ago is still burning strong and the two of them really turn up the heat. It is forbidden and a total secret and it just makes everything between them more intense especially because they are competition.

I love how lines blur and love surprises them again. It’s frantic and intense, and I believed their feelings. These two were great together. Both Poppy and Duke don’t like to lose so these two put their all into the race. It’s funny at one moment and emotional at the next. I was fully invested and couldn’t wait to see what happens.

There were times that I was a bit frustrated with Duke but I liked how everything played out. There are some turns I didn’t see coming and it kept me guessing what would happen. I also have to say that I loved that Poppy’s mom finally found someone after tragically losing her husband years before. It was the perfect ending for the Blum’s Bees series. I adored Poppy, Jo, Daisy, and the men they love, and I am sad for this series to come to an end. Loved it!

“If you’re always lookin’ for what’s next, searchin’ for more, you ain’t never gonna be happy.”⁣

These Blum sisters and the town of Lindenbach Texas have just been so much fun! And boy did the final sisters book go out with a bang! Poppy and Duke’s second chance romance was full of so much tension and hatred and remorse that I just knew that the love between them had truly never let go of either of their hearts. So with competing against each to be the new mayor, I loved all the forced moments we got with them to interact and work out their differences if you know what I mean, wink wink. But Duke definitely didn’t make it easy to love him! Solely career focused for so long, he forgot what it was like to be part of a small town and all the antics and love that it entailed.⁣

“I’d never stopped loving her, I knew that to my very core, though I’d hidden the fact away like I’d hidden the rest of me. She would be my undoing, unraveling all my hard work, all my dreams. I didn’t know if I cared anymore.”⁣

Poppy was such a spitfire with her spirit and determination to take on a mayoral race against a career politician like Duke and most importantly her ex first love. So while the whole town might not have loved her, she knew what living in a small town truly was like, love curse gossip and all. I laughed over all the things a small town mayoral race could include like calf roping, a greased watermelon race and a pie eating contest! Overall I have loved this small town romance series and am sad to see it end. This book wrapped up a little quickly for me but it was such a fun read that I wish I could have gone and voted for Poppy myself! ⁣

“It was his fault that I loved him. It was his fault that I was here. He’d weaseled his way into my heart, and I hated him for it just as much as I loved him.”

We're back with the Blum sisters and it's Poppy's turn to face the Blum curse and find her special someone. Considering she's also fighting to drag her town back from the mess the previous mayor made of things and Duke happens to be running for mayor as well (after a loooonnnng absence) makes things a little complicated.

No lie, Duke is...well, let's just say he rolls back into town with a very political mindset and it's not a good look on him. He's playing the part of the hometown boy returning to set things right, but he's really just using the mayoral position as a political stepping stone for bigger and better things. Which is not cool, Duke. Not cool at all. While he doesn't want to hurt Poppy to win the seat, he's also unwilling to step aside. And with the political pressure he has on him to secure the race, hurting Poppy looks like it's something he can't avoid.

Yeah, these two are a little complicated. Poppy's general loathing of Duke gives way to a grudging respect as she learns that some of the things she believed in the past about him weren't entirely true. Duke is torn between the career he's always dreamed of and the woman he's never stopped loving. He can't see a way he can have both and it's eating away at him. It takes a lot of soul searching and a very wise campaign manager to put things in perspective.

A whole lot of family, second chances, more than a few sexy encounters between our two leads, a messy mayoral race, a homecoming or two, and a curse that the Blum sisters are ready to put behind them. MAN, what a satisfying ending for this group.

Run For Your Honey is the stunning new enemies to lovers romance by Staci Hart. This book is the third addition to the already incredible Blum’s Bees series, and I’m obsessed!

Hart is my kind of writer, she writes love in a way which makes it fall off the paper and play out before me. It’s real, vivid, I believe it all and I feel each and every moment between her incredible characters. I’m an addict for her words and I’m always left wanting my next fix (as I am now!)

I have been waiting for Poppy’s and Duke’s book eagerly and Hart did not disappoint. Enemies to lovers is my favourite troupe and the tension, the love, and the characters distaste for one another is utterly addictive, entertaining and of course makes it a real page-turner.

Poppy is competing to be mayor, a role she never thought she would go for. But with no other viable candidate and the opposition someone who threatens the local community, she rises and thrives to the occasion. The quirky quips, the struggle and challenge all make for a thrilling and gripping read. This book is a must read and will give you all those butterfly feels and swirling heart eyes.

The beauty about all of the Blum’s Bees series is the drama and politics of the town Lindenbach where they reside. The sisters prove to be challenging opponents and I love the real ‘stick together’ and help each other values threaded through this series.

It is perfect read for all romance lovers as a stand-alone or as part of a series, and I can’t recommend enough!

Run For Your Honey by Staci Hart is the third book in the interconnected Blum's Bees Series and this is the story of Poppy and Duke.

You already meet Poppy in the previous books about her sisters and since then I was super excited for her story. Poppy is an amazing person and open to new things and that’s how she applies to be the new mayor. As a beloved person from the town she is such a good fit for it as she has a close connection to a lot of the citizens. I liked how the book showed that you don’t always need to have a perfect résumé and experience to do a good job, but it all starts with passion and motivation.

What Poppy didn’t expect was to have an opposing candidate who is no other than Duke, her ex and childhood sweetheart. Duke left Lindenbach and he studied in Harvard and worked in politics in D.C. But because of that he now seems a bit like an outsider even though it’s also where he grew up. Duke is the type of hero you need to get to know more and then with each page I loved him more.

At first the two butt heads a lot and they are in each other’s way and especially Poppy hasn’t forgiven Duke for leaving so suddenly 12 years ago. But Duke sees a chance to reconnect with Poppy and maybe some of their feelings for each other haven’t totally vanished. This romcom in combination with the second chance aspect was just amazing.

Overall, Run For Your Honey is a romcom you don’t want to miss and I can only recommend this book and the entire Blum‘s Bees Series. 4,5 stars.

High school sweethearts Poppy Blum and Duke Daniels were together for four years before Duke won a full scholarship to Harvard and left town. In the twelve years since, Duke has finished college, law school, and moved to Washington, DC, earning the backing of powerful Texas senator Charlie Williams along the way. The next step in his career is a return to the small town of Lindenbach, where he plans to run for mayor - in direct competition with his ex-girlfriend. He has political aspirations much bigger than a small town mayor's race and should be willing to do anything to win, but it's tough when that involves hurting the woman who used to mean everything to him. It only gets tougher after Poppy and Duke secretly rekindle their relationship. Can he win both the mayor's race and Poppy's heart, or will he be forced to leave her behind a second time?

Poppy and Duke's story gave me all the feels, both because of everything that happened between them and because it's the last book in this series. The push-pull and chemistry between them was phenomenal, as was their witty banter. It took me a little while to warm up to Duke, but once I understood his background and the baggage he was carrying, I really started to empathize with him. As for Poppy, I've loved getting to know her over the course of the series, and she was even more endearing as I got to know her better in this story. I particularly loved her tenacity; no matter what Duke and his campaign threw at her, she never backed down, and for that reason alone she would have had my vote!

I highly recommend "Run for Your Honey" for all contemporary romance and romantic comedy fans. Hopefully this isn't the last we'll see of Lindenbach! I'd love to read future stories about a number of secondary characters from this series, including the Blum sisters' friend Wyatt and Keaton's brothers from book 2.

Sweet. Savoury. Hilarious—those are just a few words I’d use to describe this book. The banter between Poppy and Duke is *chef’s kiss* and had me turning the page faster than I could think.

I’ve been waiting for Poppy’s story since the start of this series and let me tell you: it did not disappoint. She’s as gutsy and sharp as ever but when paired with Duke, everything kicks up a notch. They’re dissonant and sweet and oh so HOT for each other. And with the town (and Poppy’s meddling sisters) hot on their heels, it made for a spectacularly decadent read.

I loved the banter (obviously), the family relationships, the small town setting, and, of course, the STEAM! Holy guacamole—sex in the woods (that’s all I’ll share).

If you haven’t read the Blum Sister series, what are you waiting for? Poppy, Jo and Daisy are a hilarious trio of tight-knit sisters who are always in each other’s business. Each of their stories warm my heart.

What to expect from RUN FOR YOUR HONEY:
✨Small town
✨Enemies to lovers
✨Second chance
✨Top-notch banter
✨Accidental closet romps
✨Family shenanigans
✨All the steam

“The love we have when we’re just kids makes a mark you can’t erase, no matter how many years, no matter how many miles.”

Run For Your Honey is the final book in the Blum's Bees series, and Staci Hart truly saved the best for last.

I'm a sucker for a second chance romance and pairing it with a small town, romcom + enemies to lovers will basically guarantee I'm going to pick it up. This story is not only full of everything I love, it successfully delivers all these tropes flawlessly. I adored Poppy and Duke, and the only thing more addicting than their banter was their chemistry. I couldn't get enough of them, and I devoured every page.

This was such a fun and easy read, and once I started I couldn't put it down! The characters and storyline were so perfectly paired, and there wasn't a moment I wasn't either laughing or with a goofy grin on my face. It's definitely the perfect ending to the series, and while I loved each this one is definitely my favorite!

This second-chance romance almost gutted me. I wish it was longer! Small town, second chance, swoons chemistry and feel good vibes are all in this book.
Duke and Poppy are undoubtedly meant for one another, but they both can’t seem to get their timing right. She’s happily stuck in her home town, and he’s got nothing but big city stars in his eyes. They have a fun game of cat-and-mouse going throughout this book, both trying to one-up each other at every turn. But at night? They get down and dirty! That made this book so much fun!

In the end, I desperately wanted a grovel scene, but alas what we got made sense, because love always prevails. I’m desperately going to miss these sisters and this small town.

This book was surprisingly more emotional for me than I originally expected. The end of a series always hits differently, and this one was no exception.

I love that we not only saw an HEA for the last Blum sister, but another HEA we were all hoping for might have come to fruition.

Poppy and Duke have their enemies to lovers drama down pat, and at times I don’t know if would have forgiven Duke, to make it a true second chance romance. But have no fear, he does redeem himself quite well.

I’m not ready to say goodbye to this little town, I am hoping that two side characters might still get their HEA at some point.
