Everyone at Ryder High knows what it means to have a teal envelope taped to their locker on the first day of the month. But for Kerri Thomas, it’s not quite the moment she was waiting for. Busy with school, friends, and volleyball, she doesn’t know if she has time to play along and figure out who her Secret Admirer is. The clues send her on a wild scavenger hunt, proving that her admirer knows her better than she expected. But none of the clues give her hints about the guy. Kerri has a team of suspects, including her friends on the baseball team, but narrowing it down is near impossible without more information. Who could be Kerri’s secret admirer, and why isn’t he revealing anything about himself? Will Kerri be able to put the pieces of the puzzle together to figure it out?
Danielle Keil grew up and spent the majority of her life in the Chicagoland area. A recent transplant, she is enjoying the Mississippi life, especially the pool in her backyard. Danielle is happily married for over 10 years, and has two young children, a daughter and a son, who are exact replicas of her and her husband.
Danielle's love language is gifts, her Ennegram is a 9w1, and she loves everything purple. The way to her heart is through coffee, chocolate and tacos (extra guac).
OMG this book! Another brilliant read in the Love Notes series. Once I start, I can't put these down. I don't want to give any spoilers away, but I just have to say I love who the secret admirer was! Keil gave us just enough misdirection to have us always wondering who the heck Kerri's admirer was.
Yet again, I can't wait to read the next book in this F.U.N. (Fantabulously. Fun. Novel!) series. April, will you please go by quickly, so the next book can come out sooner rather than later?
Cute YA book. Very clean young romance in the Secret Admirer series. Won’t spoil who the admirer is in this case although it’s not hard to figure out. These are sweet books, the total opposite of so many bully books or those filled with precocious teens filled with sex, drugs, and violence. There’s a place for those, but this series will be too tame for readers who prefer the darker plots. The books are well written and filled with likable characters. No cheating, no drugs, no sex, no violence, no bullying. May be too sanitized look at our high schools but it’s a nice view of the world, so where’s the harm? The basic plot of each book is that one girl is picked each month by a guy who is her Secret Admirer. An envelope is taped to her locker by her admirer and she can decline or agree to the game. He leaves her clues and gifts during the month and she’s supposed to figure out who it is. At the end of the month, they hopefully become boyfriend and girlfriend. This is the 2nd in the series that I have read. The author managed to make each circumstance and game be completely different, so it didn’t come across as too cookie cutter, despite having the same basic premise. Enjoyable ending.
This book was nowhere near as good as the first one. From the very first pages you could already predict the ending and the main plot. This made the book increasingly boring, which is why it took me so long to finish it. I also wished there was some consistency with the characters. Connor was basically in this entire book, but never seen with his girlfriend even with them being the main focus in the last book. It would be cute to see a continuation of these established relationships throughout the series. Unrelated, but I also fell in love with Owen during this book and I hope he gets his happy ending soon.
Another 5 star read from Danielle Keil! Dear Kerri is a fantastic novella about a girl who gets picked to be the object of a secret admirer at Ryder High. Something that happens on the first of every month during the school year. This month she was the lucky girl to get the coveted teal envelope taped to her locker. Or in her case not taped. Follow Kerri as she runs around town following the clues of a scavenger hunt to find her secret admirer who may be closer than she thinks.
Danielle pulls this sweet contemporary happy ending romance novella off without a hitch. While the story is not as flushed out like a full length novel it does not feel rushed and moves with good story progression. Can’t wait till the next one comes out and we see who gets picked for May.
This series is literally my favorite part about a new month beginning! I’m obsessed with them, the mystery, the clues, and the adorable sweetness of the reveal.
Kerri is a funny, well rounded character who when chosen as the recipient of this months letters, didn’t think she would have time to solve the mystery let alone date someone.
Her secret admirer ( not telling you who!) had the best plans for clues, and gifts. He is hands down book boyfriend material.
Kinda sad I finished this up so quickly, literally counting down the days until book 3!!
These novellas are such a breath of fresh air! The second installment brings us Kerri, a girl who has a LOT going on but still manages to make space for the secret admirer when she finds a teal envelope on her locker. The scavenger hunt she's sent to figure out who is on the other side of her note is so. much. FUN. Love these sweet YA love stories!
I just love this series! It is cute and fun and easy reading. I have really enjoyed trying two figure out who the person is in the first two. I won't say much else so I don't give anything anyway. This game has me hooked...and I just have to mention how much I LOVE this books name haha This is a must read series! Can you figure it out???
I loved everything about this book. I found myself in love with not only the characters but also the world that was created. The story line captured my attention in the first chapter and kept me interested throughout. The details provided throughout gave you an amazing mental picture while reading as if I were right there. Definitely do yourself a favor and read this book!
Another cute book in the series, This time the chosen girl is Kerri, you can't forget her name since its on the cover, she is an athlete in Volleyball team and friends with most of the guys, so who is this mysterious admirer ? I have to say this was better than the first book slightly, but I think the mystery needed some more action in my opinion
Like Kerri, I love puzzles, so this would have been a dream come true. I loved seeing the baseball team again. They're so goofy but awesome. I really spent the entire book going back and forth on who I thought the admirer was.
I loved this book and going on the scavenger hunt with Kerri. This is a heartwarming book that Danielle Keil again allows readers to connect with the characters and try guessing who the secret Admirer is before the end. Such a cute fun read.
A great story of how one of the guys becomes more than just a friend. These are super cute short stories. He author does a great job at pulling you into the story. Sweet, clean, and fun
Loving this series! Keep them coming. Love following all the clues! Kerri needs to find out who her secret admirer is. For an enjoyable read, get this book and start reading. From a Fan... Pam James.
This book is very good and I can't wait to see what happens with the next set of characters and I really hope this is not just a three book series I really hope there's more coming in this series
This one was easy to guess! Being friends with the boys on the baseball team is Kerri's life. Things change when high school comes around. The scavenger hunt was a terrific game from Secret Admirer. Hone your sleuthing skills and put the clues together!
I did not think that I could love this book as much as I did the first book. I was so incredibly wrong! This was another novella that gives you the warm fuzzies! Kerri’s admirer could not have been more perfect! I was reading the book squealing like a teenage girl because I was so happy and excited!
There's just something so wonderful about this series that keeps me wanting more. It's like a light fluffy love story slash mystery where no one dies (which I much prefer). I read this in between other books after Dear McKinnon, afraid the magic might wear off if I read the second book too soon or I wanted to save every story in the series because it's too darn cute! Somehow in this story I knew who the secret admirer would be early on but the author threw in some scenes that would make me think twice. Still a fun and swoony read and excited for the third book.
Didn't feel this one as much as the first. Guessed the admirer from the first few chapters. It was ok but just didn't feel as cute and sweet as the first one. The notes were veey bland as they were a scavenger hunt so we didn't see them build yhat connecrion. By the time they meet after the reveal, it just felt so meh.

Dear Kerri de Danielle Keil serie Love Notes libro 2
Argumento:
Love notes series: To enjoy this series you just have to accept the premise that there is a secret society which organizes this secret admirer game and that most of the teenage boys want to participate and that most of the girls wish to receive a letter. Especially for the boys I find that hard to believe, but like I said - just accept it and move on. You also have to accept that there are a lot of boys with a crush on a girl and they just wait for their turn to be the secret admirer instead of making a move on their own. Considering they can only participate in their junior and senior year and the game sometimes pauses for summer break, there are at maximum 24 months and A LOT more boys who want the spot. So that’s another really unrealistic part, but the books just don’t make sense if you don’t accept this. I was quite annoyed with this - in some books more than others - but I tried to forget that it’s kind of a stupid concept to pine silently away for your crush, to wait up to two years for your turn and never do something on your own. If you can look past that, the series is kinda cute. Some books are very enjoyable, others I really really didn’t like. But for all of them - I repeat myself - you HAVE to accept the premise.
***
This was a cute book and it helped a lot that I liked Kerri and the people (mostly guys) of her friend group. I was still a bit disappointed because I knew very early who the secret admirer was. There were a few situations were I was second guessing but it was actually pretty obvious and I would have loved if Keil would have used the series to create a little mystery and let the readers find the clues and not give answers in one of the first chapters. Sadly it’s like that in all the following books. (The first book was the only one where I didn’t know who the secret admirer was.) But I did like the couple and the way the secret admirer played the game was adorable. I liked that Kerri wasn’t the typical Highschool girl without being a tomboy cliché.
I had a feeling of what was happening here and it was cute. But I wish there was a bit more chemistry between Kerri and Austin. I knew what was happening with our best friend trope and at the beginning there was some hints and misdirection but I didn’t feel propelled to be in love with the two main characters and probably more scenes together. It’s probably because the less scenes they were in together, the less you would expect it to be Austin, since they were trying to throw in that it could be anyone else. But I’d rather have more chemistry filled scenes and know it’s him than less and be surprised. They were sweet and cute but need a spice more chemistry. Overall a cute wholesome read but I just felt like there was something missing.
