Rose makes me blind with lust, but also with fury. She’s going to give me what I want, even if I have to blackmail her to get it. She can hate me ‘til her dying day, but I will not let this secret of hers stand. I’m going to find out who hurt her … and show them they can’t touch what’s mine.
Rose
He’s crossed a line that we can’t come back from. Threatening to ruin my family is unforgivable. I don’t care about the crush I used to have on him, or the fact that he’s my brother’s best friend. Angelo Walker is the devil incarnate. And I refuse to bow to a demon … no matter how he tempts me.
We saw Rose act out in the last book and her drama. Now we get her story. Let's back it up a little bit.
Rose has always had a crush on her brothers best friend but knows he never sees her that way. Present time something happened to Rose, and she's not dealing with it well she started cutting, and this has Angelo finding her one day. He's angry at why she did this but also wants to protect her, but Rose is not giving him any answers no matter what he asks or does.
Until he does something alittle evilish he sets a camera up in her bathroom to watch over her, but he doesn't get her he gets other blackmail stuff that he can hold against her. Since it can ruin her mother's career. Which set off what happened in Daisy book. Now, the sexual tension is high, and Angelo is not giving up. When she finally opens up to what happened. He wants revenge, and he'll get it for her. Now, their relationship is a go. They have sweet moments, dirty ones, and some drama with her mom, and Angelo finally tells her one of his "secrets"
My one problem is I wish the revenge was more bloody.. those rapist got off too easy at least for me. Which I'm shocked since Angelo family is in a certain business.. we leave off with a kidnapping of one of the other girls.
Lilly is up next.

This is the second book in the series featuring Rose’s story picking up where where we left off on the first book.
The plot was a lot different from the first and I really enjoyed it. Ann is a newer author to me, having only read two of her books (this series). I enjoy her stories and writing style, but I wish that there would be epilogues or a better transition between the books in this series. They feel fast paced and a bit abrupt.
Bedding Rose is the second book in the Stalked and Plucked Series. Ann Denton absolutely knows how to grab your attention with a gripping story and amazing characters.
Being the heir to a construction company has kept Angelo away for 2 years. When a visit to his best friend’s house has him reeling. He can’t help but become obsessed with the need for answers, and for his best friend’s sister.
Rose and Angelo are hot together. I love how protective Angelo is of Rose and how he’d do anything for her. Both characters are so compelling and I enjoyed the way their relationship progressed.
Bedding Rose is a dark and intriguing story full of secrets, angst, a stalker, and burning passion.
This is the second book in the Stalked and Plucked series. The books can be read as standalones, but the female protagonists of the series are friends, so you’ll appreciate the cameos if you read the whole series! Read my review of book 1, Chaining Daisy.
Ann Denton delivered some serious heat with this one—and all the feels too!
With Bedding Rose, the author gave me exactly what I felt was missing from Chaining Daisy. Unlike the first book, this one didn’t feel like a short story, but a full, fleshed out novel complete with character back-stories and an incredible cast of secondary characters, among which is Rose’s brother, Enrique, who stole my heart with his sunny, comic relief personality. I also really enjoyed getting to see more of Rose’s friends, which perfectly hint to what will be the story in the next installment.
The romance, however, was my favorite part of this story (surprise, surprise!) In true Ann Denton fashion, I once again found myself enjoying things that aren’t exactly part of my comfort zone. Angelo is a perfect dark romance hero, with moments of overbearing obsession for the protagonist that—while they’re not usually my favorites—somehow worked. This is because his darker qualities were perfectly balanced with his better qualities: his support of Rose’s decisions, his desire to make her ambitions a reality, his gentleness with her, and availability to put his own needs aside to give her exactly what she needs. Just like Rose, I ended up falling head over heels for him and loving his rights and his wrongs. I also really loved Rose’s character. It was hard to read about her past abuse, but I’m happy with the way the author handled that aspect and very pleased with the resolution and closure Rose found by the end of the book.
The romance was extremely steamy and I loved the love scenes between Rose and Angelo, but my favorite moments were the sweet ones in between that showed just how much Angelo loves and cherishes Rose. I particularly loved their ending! The story wraps up nicely with a perfect happy ending! Now I’m very curious to read Lily’s story. I have a feeling that one will be pushing at my comfort zone more than the other books in the series, but I’m excited to see what the author has planned.
Thank you to the author for sending me an eARC. Opinions are my own!
I don't know how it works, but for some reason Ann Denton can sell me every kind of plot with every kind of character and every kind of kink. It doesn't matter if I like the kink. It doesn't matter if the characters are characters I like to read about. It doesn't matter if there is more sex than story. I want it, I read it, I enjoy it. So, despite the daddy kink not being my thing I enjoyed the first book in the series and I was glad I also got an arc for this second book!
Once more I got addicted to the story from the moment I started reading. For some reason the author manages to grab my attention and to never let go. I wanted to get to know these characters, I wanted to get to know their daily lives, I wanted to see how they would find each other and connect, I wanted to see how they would fit into each other's lives. I wanted more and more and more. Even when the story was finished I still would have loved to read on and on.
The hero in this story is not the kind of guy I usually like. It's quite clear he's got blood on his hands and although I don't doubt that in his eyes, or the eyes of his family, he only served justice, I'm not the kind of girl liking characters to play jury, judge and executor. And yet, in this case it was the best possible match for our heroine and I can't even put into words how incredibly satisfying the finale was and how I was enjoying this justice being served.
I mostly enjoyed it though because it was clear that to get to the finale our heroine had a lot of growing to do. We didn't read what happened to her in much detail, luckily, but we did see how her mom treated her, how she lived her life, how she was afraid to be herself. It's not easy to break free of such a situation and it's even less easy when you're traumatized. But she grew and she dared to stick up for herself because she knew that her hero would still love her and do everything for her.
I might not agree with all methods used, I do agree that this is love. True, passionate, burning love.
THIS BOOK 🔥🥵 I wasn't expecting to love it even more than I did Chaining Daisy, but ANGELO gods is just so goddamn imperfect and perfect at the same time... This is the second book on the taboo dark romance series Stalked & Plucked! 🖤
Angelo never used to look twice at Rose, his best friends' sister, when they were growing up. That's is until he comes back after 2 years away and sees that she has transformed from a scrawny girl to an unresistable woman. He witnesses her in a moment of weakness and sees it as a call for help. She needs a protector after all, right? What he didn't expect is the sudden compulsive obsession he develops towards her... After having experienced a traumatic event at a frat party, Rose wants nothing more than to be left alone. Which is impossible with Angelo stalking her and showing up unannounced.
Their CHEMISTRY is spetacular! I was blushing, I was screaming, I was showing snippets of the story to my husband saying THIS THIS THIS!!! 🔥
The beginning is so full of angst as Rose tries to get rid of Angelo but he just keeps forcing his way to her, even if it means breaking the law. If you like dominant and possessive males, a small age gap, morally gray characters, FORCED PROXIMITY, dating in secret and smut that makes your knees weak this is a must read!❤️❤️❤️
Even though each book of the series can be read as a standalone I recommend to read it in order as the characters from book 1 also appear in book 2!
Bedding Rose is the 2nd standalone book in The Stalked and Plucked series. I loved how characters from the first book pop up in this one too.
Rose (FMC) and her brother - Enrique's friend Angelo's life collide when he accidently stumbles across her doing something destructive to herself. Which in turn unravels a backstory of events that have happened to her that she's trying to keep quietly to herself. Angelo has a way of getting past all of her constructed walls through stalking and blackmail.
There are a few triggers that might upset some folks. So just be warned. Yes it's a dark read but still I couldn't help but like Rose & Angelo's story. It is steamy but Angelo is also protective in his own way. He's more of a dark Knight than a whiteone that's for sure. A great read
Hot hot, if you love spicy dark romance. Ann is the person to goto! Bedding Rose is the second book in the Stalked and Plucked series, however, these can be read as standalone. How gorgeous are the covers! The romance in this book was more of protector/touch her and you die trope, brother's best friend .. and banter.
Rose's character is given so much backstory in this book along with the other characters. Her development was great, she had her trauma and still focused on improving her mental state and her surroundings. Angelo was a scary cinnamon roll haha, he was tough when he needed to be, but he was a mush for Rose! It was the sweetest thing, love his caring ways. I loved that there was history and evolution of the characters. We had a bit more in this book than we did with the characters in the first book.
Please make sure to check trigger warnings before you dive into the series: rape trauma, cutting, and murder.
The Stalked and Plucked series is becoming my guilty-not-so-guilty pleasure read. These taboo romance standalones can be read individually or as a series, but please check the trigger warnings before starting. In BEDDING ROSE the main triggers are: cutting, rape (off page, happens in the past) and murder. If that’s something you can handle, and you love a good brother’s best friend trope with an obsessively protective man and tons of angst and banter, then I highly recommend this read!
I had already enjoyed Chaining Daisy back when I read it, but while I loved the dynamic of that relationship, I wanted a bit more “story” to go with it and more background on the characters. Bedding Rose had that! While the scorching hot romance was still very much the focus, this one felt more like a novel than a short story. The author took her time fleshing out Angelo and Rose’s characters, and it made the romance much more rewarding when it happened. I fell hard for these two! Rose was a devastatingly heartbreaking and strong character, not only for how she deals with the trauma of her past abuse, but also for the confidence she finds along the way to deal with the other expectations keeping her caged. Angelo, on the other hand, was exactly the sort of bad boy I love falling for. The tattoos and protective alphahole attitude were already a guarantee for me, but pair that with how attentive and careful he was with Rose and you’ve got yourself a winner. He may be unconventional, but he’s more than deserved his throne as my favorite of Ann Denton’s men.
Angelo and Rose’s story wraps up perfectly, but the author leaves us hanging with a tease of what’s coming in the next installment, where another of the Wildflowers girl squad will be the protagonist. I admit, if that story is going where I think it is, this one will truly be a taboo romance. The author has a great challenge in her hands, but I’ve read enough Ann Denton books by now to trust that she’ll work some magic! However, this is also me throwing in a request into the void to get a book about Enrique, Rose’s brother, who wins the award for best brother, best sassy boy and best secondary character with main character energy.
Thank you to the author for gifting me an eARC. All opinions are my own.
Bedding Rose is the second book in the Stalked & Plucked series. While it's not necessary to read the first book, I highly recommend doing so. They are all different couples, but side characters that reappear in each book....if that makes sense.
We met Rose in Chaining Daisy. She was Daisy's friend. Ever since she found out Daisy's secret, Rose has been on a downward spiral. Bad things have happened and many dark secrets consumes her. Angelo is her brother's best friend and Rose has been in love with him forever. He is willing to do anything to protect what’s his.
There's something about Ann Denton's writing that just draws you in. She DEFINITELY captured the type of hero...or anti-hero, that I absolutely LOOOOVE! Although this does end in a HFN, I am anticipating Lily's story!!
If you love emotional stories full of angst then you’ll enjoy this story! I loved watching Rose grow and find herself & Angelo’s utter obsession/devotion to her was swoon worthy. I felt like so many amazing elements were there for this story but there was just something missing for me between them - and I honestly can’t figure out what exactly it was.
A perfect girl, stuck in her perfect world… who better to break her out of her shell and become who she is than an ultra possessive man with a very alpha vibe. To the point of obsession, stalking, and silent guardian.
DNF at 55%. I liked the concept but god… it’s so slow. I’m not a big fan of slow burns but I can manage if there’s some chemistry and tension. I didn’t feel it with these two. Something about them comes off as immature even tho he’s supposed to be a big, bad MFer. I was waiting until we got to the sex part since sometimes these books pick up the pace a little at that point… but I just frankly don’t care to continue.
Also, I swear that 75% of what I’ve read so far is narrative/exposition. I hate that. Where’s the freaking dialogue?? The interactions that build tension and reveal their character… we’re just told who they are and what they think. Boring.
☆ Dark romance ☆ spice ☆ slow burn ☆ duel pov ☆ forbidden brothers best friend ☆ standalone series
This is the 2nd book of the Stalked and Plucked series, but they can be read as standalones.
This story follows Rose and Angelo a dark romance with sweet revenge.
When Angelo finds Rose unexpectedly and shockingly in a terrible situation he's determined to get to the bottom of the reason. Except Rose isn't making it easy for him. So he begins to stalk her. For her own good of course. He's gotta protect his best friends little sister since no one in her family will. Little sister is a stretch, she's all grown up now and Angelo definitely notices. But as a big bother himself he knows the sister is off limits when she's your best friends sister. But damn, she's gorgeous.
This story was just sexually intense, heartbreaking, and that revenge made it oh so sweet. Though I still believe they went a bit easy on them.
Rose has been the good girl. Following rules, never stepping out of line. But the one day she does and her life changes drastically.
I feel so bad for Rose. My heart broke for her when she revealed what happened to her.
When it's revealed to Angelo, he wants to snap. He wants blood.
Overall I really enjoyed this story. The character growth for Rose was pretty great. I'm proud of her. I'm scared of saying more and giving away things. So I just want to say I definitely recommend if these are your type of books. It was a quick read. The spice was 🤌🏻🤌🏻
This is a dark romance so do check the trigger warnings. - Violence - off page rape (no details) - stalking - cutting
Bedding Rose is the second book in Ann Denton’s Stalked and Plucked series. This stand-alone novel focuses on Rose and Angelo. Typically, there is an unspoken rule – you don’t go after your best friend’s sister, but when Angelo finds Rose suffering from a traumatic memory, he takes her into hand and decides to be the person she needs the most. Things aren’t exactly easy for him, but he’s not one to give up. Rose has her thorns, but he doesn’t mind a couple of pricks if he gets the flower. Bedding Rose keeps the characters in this book closer in age range in comparison to book one. Angelo has his family business that he participates in, but he keeps that as distant as possible from his friendships. It’d be a bad thing if the two were to ever cross paths, for those who end up on Angelo’s bad side...or his father’s. Rose has a tainted history that haunts her, but it would seem that Angelo could be the person she needs in her life to help her move past it. The storyline moves pretty well. One of my favorite things, besides the steamy scenes (LOL) is how the timeline is orchestrated. It helps accurately direct the flow of the story and let you know exactly where things are and when. Of course, there is the typical drama, but there’s more to it to keep readers engaged. I’m rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Bedding Rose is the second in the series, and I went in with high expectations after reading Chaining Daisy before this. Rose is entirely different than Daisy however, and I fully enjoyed how Ann was able to give two books with characters so wildly different. Rose begins with the demure meekness, and delicateness of trauma befitting the flower she is named after. She ends with the spiky prickles her namesake stem produces. The attraction with Angelo is from the beginning fraught with danger and deception, keeping stakes high long after most books would have pulled everything to the open. There is a deep suspense we are caught up in with their relationship that is fully explored, and exploited with deliciousness . Angelo's dedication and possessiveness trips off the page with a manic desperation. Whether its stalker-ish or swoon-worthy is up to you, but you can believe you'll be turning each page, hungry for the next wisp of spice, and dark glare of fury.
This was such a good read. I really enjoyed watching these two characters grow as individuals and watching their relationship come together. The character development and growth was really well done. This is the second in the series and while each book can be read as standalones, we do get to see some familiar faces from the previous book. This was a spicy and emotional read. I really liked Rose and how she fought so hard to overcome terrible obstacles. Angelo is this dark anti hero , that really shouldn’t be swoon worthy but oh boy is he ever. He is so enamoured with Rose, the lengths he is willing to go to show her how much she means to him is something else! I was thoroughly entertained by this entire book. It's well written , full of spice and drama, the characters are really well fleshed out and the plot is solid and rich. The ending for Rose and Angelo was perfect, but now I need to know what is going on with Lily!
We first met Rose in the first Stalked and Plucked book when she saw Gunnar had been recording Daisy and she was furious. Now we get her story and it's heartbreaking. But Angelo crosses a line when trying to get information from Rose about something that happened to her and she's even angrier but she still can't stop the pull towards him. She knows she shouldn't want him, he's her brother's best friend but she just can't resist.
Angelo definitely isn't the kind of guy a lot of people will like but I thought he was perfect. The two of them are so hot together, there's a push and pull in their relationship and a connection that neither of them can deny. We also get to know the two remaining friends a little more and I think Lily's story will be next, I'm intrigued to find out what happens with her both in the present and what exactly happened in her past.
Be sure to read the TW in this books as there are a couple that may effect readers.
“Of course, devils are meant to tempt aren’t they? A beautiful face can hide ugly truths. And Angelo’s hiding the ugliest of them all.”
We are back to the Wild Flowers and this time we are following Rose, this book begins a few weeks before the end of Chaining Daisy and it explains Rose’s reaction to Daisy’s news.
Rose is the good girl, always maintaining the perfect appearance her mother expects of her. But underneath the perfect outer shell hides Rose’s true self and keeping things locked up never helped anyone. So when Angelo, her brothers best friend, finds her doing the unthinkable he takes it upon himself to watch out for Rose — until it becomes an obsession.
This is a slow to medium burn, friends to enemies to lovers romance. Angelo is a great Forbidden morally grey MMC with a sweet cinnamon roll centre just for Rose. We get some spicy scenes as Rose starts to show her inner self.
I’m looking forward to what is in store for the next Wild Flower.
I loved Daisy’s story, but Rose’s story was even better yet! So much action and so much betrayal. Can a stalker be the better choice? Angelo will do everything in his power to protect Rose - whether she likes it or not. When her nightmares overwhelm her to take her down, will the rough man be her knight in shining armor or her undoing? Please read the author's note BEFORE chapter 1 (Why does the app always start your book at chapter 1? There is often something important the author needs to tell before you start the story - or even a dedication that is too sweet to miss. I wish I could turn that off so that my book begins at the front cover - letting me appreciate the graphic before I dive into the story). I loved this story. If you love a strong heroin, who needs to heal before she can embrace who she is, then this is a must-read for you. I’m looking so much forward to the next book in the stand-alone series.
This book was an absolute delight and hit the spot for my constant craving for Dark Mafia Romance. Bedding Rose wasn’t a particularly dark read for me, however my scale for dark is probably a touch different than most peoples considering I pretty much have a Dark Romance IV hooked up to me at all times.
If you’re looking for a forbidden romance with a Goody Tooshoes politician’s daughter and bad boy brothers best friend with all the jealous/possessive “mine” vibes and a touch of dub con you best one click this book IMMEDIATELY!
It has lots of triggers as self harm and sexual assault play a big part of the plot so be aware of what you’re getting into… however because of the sexual assault the spicy scenes between the main characters have take place EVERYWHERE except a bed and Angelo gets quite creative! Loved this book, Ann Denton always delivers, can’t wait for the next book in the series!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "BEDDING ROSE" WOW!!! What an interesting, intriguing, dark twisted story, with secrets, angst, stalker, passion, you can't put this book this down your hooked to the end. Angelo Walker is obsessed with Rose his BF'S sister who makes him blind with lust but also anger she going to give him what he wants if it means he has to blackmail her, make her hate him to get it that's what he'll do. Rose had a crush on her brothers BF Angelo but he stepped over a line she won't let him ruin her family to her he's the devil incarnate. I definitely recommend to get this dark twisted story do much happens Rose & Angelo's chemistry is sizzles can these two get a HEA with everything their going through you must get this well written story with well developed characters that pull you right into all intense drama so well worth the read. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!!
Pls check for TW. #rape (not explicit) #selfharm #murder
It's my first Book of the Stalked and Plucked Series and Ann Denton in general and I really enjoyed it. I was expecting a possessive, swoony guy and boy did Ann Denton deliver.
The Story is about Rose and Angelo, the best friend of her brother. Angelo has a dark secret nobody knows about, yes not even Enrique/Quique his Best Friend. When Angelo finds Rose in the bathroom, cutting herself, he's keeping her secret and tries everything to find out what happened to little Rose and what drove her to this.
It's all I can say because I don't want to spoil anything, but this book hits right in the feels. I loved it and devoured it in a few hours. Will definitely check out the other books in this series and other books by this author. And I really hope we'll get to know more about Quique in the future, I really really liked him 😉😏
When I first started Bedding Rose I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but I was pleasantly surprised. Angelo is the heir to a family business and had been away for a while, but has come back into town and wanted to get caught up with his best friend. While there he stumbles across a situation with his best friend's sister Rose and it turns his world upside down. Rose is a quiet and shy young woman that has always tried to and succeeded at being the perfect daughter for her mother. She recently tried to go out for a fun night out with her friend that took a traumatic turn that left her shattered emotionally. I thought Angelo and Rose were phenomenal together and brought out the best in each other. She helped him find his romantic side and he helped her find her voice and a different kind of path to healing.
"I can't decide if you're a white knight or a criminal."
A deliciously darker story that can be read as part of the Stalked and Plucked series or as a standalone. Please consider the triggers before reading (cutting, violence, off scene rape, blackmail, stalking, etc).
This installment was just as spicy/steamy as Chaining Daisy was but I found the plot line to be more involved with this story. The characters definitely made this story work really well and it was so easy to be able to relate to them and understand the 'growth' that we find our main character going through.
We are left with a sneak peak of where AD will be taking this series next and I'm excited to see what awaits the next Wildflower and how things will be spun.
Angelo, “heir” to a commercial construction company, finds Rose, a seemingly good girl college student and his best friend’s little sister, in an unusual state one night when he was at their house visiting after being away for two years on a special project. As the story progresses a push for answers is made, obsession becomes the name of the game, and it becomes a race to see if the darkness will be kept bay. Bedding Rose danced with darkness and light featuring an alpha male lead character that is firmly in the dark and a good girl with a hint of darkness that she has kept hidden. Reader discretion advised due to dark subject matter and/or possible triggers.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
This is book 2 in Denton's Stalked and Plucked series and can be read as a standalone. As with many dark romance reads please be aware of trigger warnings before starting. This is Rose and Angelo's story. A brother's best friend romance but not your typical - filled with darkness and secrets I love that while Angelo pushes Rose it's from a place of protection and care. These two are like broken jig saw pieces that fit perfectly together. Well written, smooth flowing storyline, amazing - strong characters, loved the dual point of view and omg the steamy chemistry was super steamy! A great, intense read. I can't wait for more!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.
Rose has been a good girl, she’s done everything her mom has asked of her. She’s played the puppet long enough. After a traumatic experience Rose is found in her bathroom cutting by Angelo, her brothers best friend. He feels fiercely protective of her and is angry that she won’t tell him what happened. Angelo has just put his claim on Rose whether she likes it or not. She’s his and he will get to the bottom of what happened to her. One way or another. Rose has been in love with Angelo since she was 14. She’s angry at him for sticking his nose in her business but after he blackmails her she’s ready to take what she wants from him.
This was a steamy read with bits of drama, danger and action. This ends with a HFN and a lead into the next book. Can’t wait to read Lily’s book.
