Changing Seasons

Rate this book
I’ve always imagined love to resemble coloring outside of the lines. Our kismet fate painted in hues of violets and blues. Oranges and reds spearing the flames of heaven’s divine grace as it tied our souls. An obscure canvas covered by the colors we made. Dismissing traditional rules of falling in love by choosing a different beat of me and my lover’s nirvana-laced drum.

However, where there is love, there is pain.

Heartbreak snatched me out of my love cocoon. Chewing me up and spitting me out into a cycle of delirium. Still inhaling and exhaling the breath of my ex-lover. The cruelty of it left more scars than the claws of our enemies tiring themselves out to break what could never be unyoked.

Tasting the bitterness of heartbreak almost ruined me. He almost ruined me and I wanted revenge in the sweetest way possible. This was my moment to get the seven-year-long closure I’ve been wanting. The freedom to release myself from him. For him to release the hold he’s had on me - To get my heart back.

Jacolby & Paxton

I enjoyed reading about a second chance and healing heads and hearts. This couple really had a journey…first time college lovers, then a break up, engagement & marriage to other people, break ups , death, and finally 7years later finding their way back to one another.

Slow burn goodness

I like a good slow burn romance if the story is compelling and drags me kicking and screaming into the tale. Jacolby Jr. had me fangirling her antics. She was the full package and Paxton fumbled her heart listening to his controlling mother. They were two peas in a pod, and everyone could see the potential in this power couple, except Mommy Dearest. Jacolby grew into the genius with numbers and would eventually cross paths with Paxton, and save him from himself. Yes, this was a nice second chance story.

Bravo!!

Whewwww... this was definitely meant to birth purpose! This author’s passion for Black Romance, Black Love , Black Poetry and her love for God shines through with her pen on every single page. She focuses on love, healing, forgiveness both given & delayed, but most importantly she peels layers of pain from her characters, giving us and them hope! Meeting Jacobly Jefferson Jr. was different and unique, just like Chelsea. She pens from her spirit. Always looking forward to the connection of previous characters and the path for the next release! Another amazing 5-star release from an absolutely amazing author!

I always enjoy this authors writing, that’s a given. But goodness gracious Paxton worked my last nerve. Jacolby was such a strong, smart, fierce woman. She was wasted on Paxton. He was so incredibly weak. His family babied him and Jacolby definitely didn’t make him work hard enough to win her back. But if she like it I love it.

Changing Seasons

I read this book when it was first released in 2015 under a different title and loved it, but the revamp of this book, I loved just as much. Jacolby Jr. was the first time I remember seeing a female named after her father and being called Junior and I loved it. Paxton and Jacolby had a love like none other while in college and it was only tainted once Paxton allowed someone close to him to place doubt where there shouldn’t have been any. I can relate to their relationship on so many levels and that made their story just that much more endearing to me. This story focused on a journey towards forgiveness and living and loving to your purpose and it was beautiful to see just how much Paxton and Jacolby stanned for each other. If there ever was #couplegoals for a story, Paxton and Jacolby are it. Their love was pure and untainted until it was and it took years and work for them to come back together. I loved how Chelsea Maria set us up for her next book and gave some hints of what to expect. Even more than that, I loved the spiritual messages throughout the book and it was inspiring. This is definitely a book to read if you are going through changing seasons and even if you just want to experience what it looks like to see unconditional love and support for one another.

Pi and Tripple J they are just too cute... His mommy was working on my nerve you can not except your children to live life for you. They must have fun and make mistakes. Tripple J was being her authentic self. Some will always have a problem with the way you choose to live. Good thing she wasn't living for people. I was sad that Pi lost his wife. But in order for him to walk in his purpose a way had to be made. Lovely

Also, Cass didn't have no words and I was still hot and ready for what's to come from him.
London better get it together cause Quincy seem like he want all the smoke
Landon loves his wife so much. It's just so darn cute too me.
I can not wait to see what's going on with everybody else especially Pj and that young love. It's so sweet.

She's back!!!

It has been awhile since I heard from this author and I am so grateful for this release! While there were some editing errors, it did not take away from the strength of the storyline. Jacolby and Paxton...whew! Talk about unconditional love, forgiveness, and restoration! These storybook mothers need a remedial parenting class because how do you ruin and run all of your sons away? Jacolby was my favorite female character and Quincey...baybeee...he is all bae. I cannot wait for London's story because I am conflicted knowing that both Cassian (who deserves a HEA) and Quincey (my spiritual bae) are vying for her affections. The author definitely planted the seed and I am looking forward to the harvest. What a beautiful and inspiring love story!

Passion Births Purpose

These characters and their story leave me almost speechless. And needing tissues! lol

Jacolby and Paxton are my new loves! While I appreciate the romantic aspect of their journey, it’s the life lessons, growth and determination that cause my heart to embrace them. A Passion Birthed in Purpose. Glory to God!

As always it brings me absolute joy whenever I get to see and experience my favorite girl, Drea. I just love her!

Okay, okay, OKAY…London + my crazy azz Cassian + my new spiritual fine azz Quincy? Chelsea Maria, you got some ’splanin’! GIRL! Whew! Can’t wait for London’s book!

Author Chelsea Maria, I absolutely love every single word you pen. Well done.

Real Love..

I enjoyed this story of Jacolby and Paxton immensely. I was a little sad in the beginning when they broke up because it appeared that they had such a great relationship but then after reading further I realized that was young love and they were really too young to understand what real love and being in a real relationship really meant. So by the time they're back together again they have been through heartache and life challenges, working and being responsible adults and are more ready to accept that they were always meant to be together. Great book Chelsea Maria.

Black Love

His shady momma I wanted to string her up. I am a Jalcoby a daddy's girl (he's in heaven now). Bright loud and I don't care too much about what others think. I love people and I'm generous to a fault. But Paxton and Jalcoby are an example of soulmates. I meet my soulmate after 2 divorces and was married in 2 weeks and we have been married for 38 years. What God has joined together let no man put asunder. I really enjoyed this book. Chelsea Maria you are a great writing. Keep giving us great stories of Black Love. Can't wait to read London's story. Ohhh it's going to be fire!!!

Another great story

I just finished Changing Seasons and loved Paxton and Jacolby. Their story was different from your others but the love still shined through. I love how Paxtons brothers lifted him in prayer and encouragement. They are the true meaning of iron sharpens iron I am my brothers keeper. Pushed but not to much but always had his back. He healed from hurt she healed from insecurities and together they found love again with one another. Another great story Chelsea Maria.

This touched my soul and spirit in so many ways

I had to savor every moment of this book because Paxton and Jacolby's story touched my soul in the most unexpected way. The anointing felt throughout this story gave my goosebumps and brought me to the point of tears at times. Drea and Quincey added to the anointing. Seeing Andrea and her family appear was amazing. Quincey, my Quincey. Lord have mercy that man had me scared as you know what but in awe of the man he is. I'm excited to see what becomes of him, Landon, and Cassian in this love triangle.

FOREVER LOVE

I really enjoyed Paxton and Jacolby's story. Their journey was one that had you feeling so many emotions from heartbreak to trying to find a way to move forward. What i did love about their journey is they never lost the love they had for one another while trying to heal from years of pain. They refused to allow the negativity to tarnish their relationship again. This story wasn't just about the relationship of two college kids but the life lessons, personal growth, and the willingness to try again with the one who got away.

Seasons....!

This story really touched me. It reminded me of the value I found in life lessons. The things that threatened my femininity and challenged my moral compass seem minut as I stand in my new season applying the lessons learned. Jacolby and Paxton's love endured several seasons and brought with it lessons and renewed passion and purpose. I loveddd everything about this book!

Welcome back!

I'll always be a faithful reader because the words you birth between each line are a spiritually awakening. You leave no crumbs behind! That love triangle scoop is another story that I'm sure will be phenomenal. You questioned your gift, but it didn't leave you. It let you pause and breathe for a moment to prepare you for an even greater journey. I'm buckling my seat because it's going to be bumpy but spectacular when it's released.

This was a sweet second chance romance story. Paxton and Jacolby's road to love for a second time was very lovey dovey. There was angst but not a lot. This wasn't a heavy read. Overall I enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like was there was no on page sex scenes. At all. This isn't a harlequin romance book where was the sex?? There also were grammatical issues that were annoying. All in all a solid read.

Chelsea is Back!

Grateful to have Chelsea back writing again. Even though I love those Kalmin brothers, I am happy that we got mini release from them. I already felt the stress and intensity from what will be London book and eventually Cassian's book. Happy to have gotten to read about Sassy & Pi ♡

So many gems!

I thoroughly enjoyed Paxton & Jacolby's story. It is one of the best second chance love stories I have ever read. I especially loved the spiritual components with Andrea and Quincy. The book embodies the quote "what's meant to be is gonna be." I can't wait read more from Chelsea Maria.

A beautiful story about God's Grace

Whatever journey she went on to pen this book is full of God's grace and mercy. The way the spirit flew through this book was beautiful. If you need a reminder that through your best and worst times God is with you then this is the book for you. It's still spicy like we like em but also full of gifts that will nurture your soul.

Paxton and Sassy Baby had a love connection that his mom tried to break but you don't mess with God's plan if it's meant to be it's going to happen. I loved Drea and London showing up and Paxton's brother showing up too he needed that talk. Awesome book and I can't wait for London's story😍

A poetic masterpiece!

A poetic masterpiece, that’s what I’ll call Changing Seasons. Although it was a roller coaster of emotions, it was so well written. The love Jacolby and Paxton felt for each other jumped off every page. Excellent read! You will not be disappointed 👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽

Changing Seasons

Paxton and Jacobly’s stood the test of time and came back stronger than ever after being separate for so long. It was good to see JD, Andrea, London, Cassian again even for a brief moment. Seeing the strength of their love made them love harder and understand what is meant to be will be.

I loved this story. It made me believe in love again. The love they shared was so wonderful. He mother was bitter and evil. I don't know why she didn't want her boys happy. She couldn't see she was running them away. Good story lady

2nd Chance

Pax loved so deeply and seemingly needed to love. He was miserable without Jr and then miserable without Heather. Jr similarly mourned Pax the years they were apart. They both kicked butt professionally but needed each other to be complete.
