With the world on the brink of extinction, our heroes' fight for reality takes them to 1930s New York, the Eastern Front in World War One, 1950s Hollywood, and 1930s Nebraska. Francesca and Noah are caught on what seems like a space plane in the future with Mariah and Connor. Together with Bonomi, they must fight the forces of Novus Ordo as they attempt to change history by removing vital figures who will influence the development of Batman, The Twilight Zone, Planet of the Apes, and Star Trek.
An action packed adventure, Jigsaw: History's Forgotten Part Two is the second chapter in a new trilogy that will appeal to fans of young adult time travel and historical fiction.
I have been a social studies teacher, principal, and founding owner of the Grand Canyon College Preparatory Academy in Tempe, Arizona. I grew up reading and watching science and historical fiction. I am also a big baseball fan. I have combined my various passions in the Jigsaw series, which focuses on time-traveling teens thrust into major historical events—many of which never made the standard history books. I was born in New York and now live in Arizona with the love of my life Gwyn. We are both are dog people, and enjoy travel and food—Italian, Asian, Middle Eastern and Indian cuisines in particular.
Jigsaw: History’s Forgotten, Part Two by David Alyn Gordon is more of his time traveling Temporal Guardians’ series wherein it is the Novus Ordo’s goal to take over the world and install a fascist authoritarian regime. The Guardians have been chasing this goal for some time with some of the new Guardians recruited from a field trip to Germany, sponsored by their high school in the current time. Now it has become a complicated story of relationships, current, in the past, and in the future. The author does a decent job of keeping these relationships straight and and communicating them well to the reader. Their goal is to keep the historical timeline the same as it was in their day so often they have to do things or witness things repugnant to them, but necessary. It is an intriguing series requiring a vivid imagination to see the action as it happens. This book is grittier than the past books, displaying more bad language and intimating sexual relationships, although no explicit. There is a vampire (?) and a man having discussions in real time with himself in disguise as his own grandfather. Not sure about that. All in all, if you like science fiction, adventure, and fast-paced, this may be the series for you.

Having enjoyed ‘History’s Forgotten: Part One,’ I was looking forward to reading this next instalment. Once again, it’s packed with time-travelling action, as a group of Temporal Guardians strive to thwart the evil Novus Ordo from altering history. The primary time periods in this episode are 1915, 1930 and 1951, but the narrative also ventures into other eras, including as far back as 79 AD, and into a space-filled future. The storyline revolves around two main plots: Novus Ordo’s attempts to disrupt the production of classic films like ‘The Twlight Zone,’ and an assassination attempt targeting the Tsar and Kaiser in 1915, design to pave the way for Novus Ordo’s creation of an evil superstate.
Fans of fast-paced, action-packed books are likely to enjoy this novel. With a multitude of characters and timelines, I would recommend readers start at the beginning of the series, to fully appreciate the complexities of the plot, and avoid being overwhelmed.
The book contains quite a lot of heavy swearing and some violence. The story wraps up, but ends on a cliff-hanger, inviting readers to continue onto the next book. Overall, it’s an exciting read that I’m sure YAs will enjoy.
