Ghost hunter Shane Ryan has never had an easy life. Years of battling paranormal forces and supernatural evil have taken their toll. But the former marine isn’t ready to give up the fight yet. So when a missing girl stirs up memories of an old case, Shane sets out to investigate.
Communing with the spirits, Shane discovers a link between the killer and a vicious biker gang based in New Hampshire. Tracking them to their clubhouse, Shane soon finds himself embroiled in another battle against horrific forces from beyond.
Other girls have gone missing, and they all fit the same profile. Young. Innocent. Perfect little angels. Someone behind the scenes is gathering a flock of students for an infernal school of the dead. Unless Shane can stop them in time, these missing girls are about to learn an unforgettable lesson in terror.
And Shane may find himself consumed by the nightmares of his past once and for all…
Ron Ripley is a husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day. He grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed. Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones. Those things are just plain creepy to a kid.
Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.
Every novel, novella, and anthology from Scare Street I have devoured and received entertainment, Nightmare fodder, and super Scares. SOUL COLLECTOR is first in a new Series of the same title. I have to note that, while Scare Street books are often edgy in terms of the horror, those Series featuring ex-Marine, New Hampshire native, ghost seer Shane Ryan, are more explicit than others, and SOUL COLLECTOR is very upfront in terms of violence and triggering issues. So I recommend readers who are especially sensitive to certain issues and events tread extra carefully. That stated, this novel is extremely engrossing, suspenseful, fright-inducing.

If I'm ever in a really tight spot, I'm calling Shane Ryan. This dude is 100% badass. He has upped his game here to not only hunt down and kill evil ghosts but also evil living persons. In this case, the evil living persons happen to be in the business of kidnapping and selling young girls for purposes you'll have to read the book to find out. Suffice it to say that these are not Boy Scouts here. I have come to look forward to every book featuring Shane Ryan. I've followed his development from isolated child to single minded dispenser of justice - on both sides of the astral plane. Soul Collector is the first of a series and if the ending is any indication, the rest of the series will be a helluva ride.
Absolutely frigging awesome book! Ron Ripley is the master of unique horror stories and never fails to bring the chills. Really outstanding storyline with characters that are extremely well written and that just come to life, or death ; ) lol Shane Ryan is a character that has just completely blown me away and I'm telling yall, you don't want to miss out on even one single book that he's in!! He's a whole different dimension of ghost hunter! ! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you get the reading order for his books and start at the beginning so that you don't miss out on any of the action! Reasons I enjoyed this book: Action-packed Easy-to-read Entertaining Haunting Original Page-turner ScaryTragic Twisted Unpredictable Wonderful characters
Draws you in with descriptive language and makes you see the area described, well written which is what you would expect from anything to do with Scare Street and Ron Ripley. An adventure of Shane saving people again, and the family of ghosts in Berkeley square house, can’t wait to see where book 2 takes me.
Another Scare Street can’t put down book/series well written as you would expect with Shane getting bumps and bruises while his ghost family try to look out for him and protect him, another book that could be a stand alone book but better if read in the order it should be following Shane’s life and trials
Oh wow what a great start to a new series. I needed my Shane fix I'm so glad to see Carl and Eloise are in this as well and the fact that Shane is kicking serious deaf ends is no surprise. It is full of intrigue and excitement. It left me with an indescribable feeling of dread to have to wait for the next book. Great job Ron can't wait.
As some other reviewers have said, this type of story and writing lends itself to cinematic treatment. Hadn't read anything by this author before, but I liked a lot of things here, though I need to catch up on some of his other stories maybe, to fully acquaint myself with the characters. Fast paced and fun though!
Shane Ryan is haunted by an old case, one that refuses to go away. Now, with another young girl missing, and the possibility of a trafficking ring going on, he is determined to stop it. First, he has to talk to someone who died decades ago - and hope they are willing to give him the answers he needs.
I’ve had this book pre-ordered for weeks. It is definitely worth it. Well written (and edited), action packed and haunting. And haunted. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
I love this character Shane and I’m glad to see him setting off on a new adventure. Ripley writes engaging characters that I feel I’ve come to know. You can’t go wrong reading anything published by this author.
What can I say another Ron Ripley masterpiece. Well written, great storyline, new characters. Fantastic looking forward to reading Book 2. You just can’t get enough of Shane Ryan!!!
This could be a scary book for teens. Maybe it is and I missed seeing the genre. The characters need to be fleshed out a bit more, especially the main character Shane
As a fan of Ron Ripley and Scare Street this book once again did not disappoint. Characters are well developed, realistic and relatable. Book is well written and really appreciate the “no happy-ending” tone and vibe of the book.
I love Ron Ripley and I love Shane . But this was more like a child's reader: Run Jane, Run. I could give examples from the story but that would be too much of a spoiler. Still, the story was good, could have been better.
This deals with child abduction and murder, so be warned. We find out more about Shane's past, and it sets the stage for what follows. This time he is not just trying to find closure for the past, but to stop it from continuing.
I was lucky enough to have gotten a free audio book code from Scare Street. I am volunteering to leave this review. Awesome book wish this happened to sex traffickers every where.
