Fun, Fast-Paced, and Filled with Sexy Twists

This is definitely a ride, in more ways than one! The crisp dialogue and abundant pop culture references make it a great steamy romance novel for readers who aren’t particularly into steamy romance.

Didn't like it like I've liked 50 shades.

50 shades had a story.

But cherry locked doesn't have a story.

It was mostly about SEX.

I found this book on Inkitt a few years ago and fell in love. Very fresh and unpredictable plot that throws you off the sent in a good way!

There is no sex just very hot steamy moments teasing moments like foreplay. I love that Madi keeps her virginity while being very sex positive. At times she’s annoying and over dramatic lol…but that makes her more real. She just isn’t a cardboard woman with a 1 track mind/path. She does questionable stuff and irritating shit that will have you yelling at her.

The plot is a 7/10 to me. I expected more but there are other books and we don’t need all of the answers in 1 book…I’m just restless.

The fame part is very fun to read. Chrissy really captures how the real world treats you once you in the spotlight. Madi is treated very much like SYDNEY SWEENY!! And it’s not on purpose cus the book was out in like 2021. But that’s my example of how the media and social media world is treating her.

Jace is the right amount of charm and sexy without being cringe and extra. His lines are full of rizz, I hate that word so much but that’s what he has. Very Aura farming. And he isn’t just a 1 not hot billionaire who had this vague unknown famous industry that he owns. He’s not a placeholder CEO. We learn what he does as a business man in great detail without being bored. He is obviously expired by Tony Stark and Elon Musk. I love how alive he is.

Brad is a sweetheart gone bad. I will spoil a lil here so you are warned!

Okay so the abuse side of him was totally unexpected!! I knew he was jealous. I mean…a billionaire is after his girl and stealing his girl so…yes he goes crazy. It all felt too real because real life abuse is what he does to Madi. Not just the gaslighting and the verbal manipulation but also the sweetheart syndrome that serial killers have…the too perfect and romantic to be evil thing. I was rooting for him and Madi I shipped them…then he went full evil I didn’t expect him to almost r@pe Madi! I thought he would just be jealous yelling at her maybe even beat her then scare her to stay with him. He used the Romeo and Juliet method in Madi and really roped her in.

I have added book 2 in Inkitt I’d rather read it free there instead of paying…times are hard right now lol

But the plot is deeper than fifty shades. There’s the desperation to be in love by Madi who has a backbone and shuts things down she can be mean and assertive with her body while also wanting to play. Jace calls her a sour patch and that’s so what she is. She truly wants to wait until her honeymoon and is doing it exactly like that according to book 1.

The yearning for some real…not just mindless dating is what drives the story. That’s the main point I got from the book. Love over sex…but the sexual temptation will sneak in .

From the cover and name I thought this was going to be a sex fest lol but there’s more to it. Madi wants a husband before sex …but that’s easier said than done. Although she somewhat Keeps her word…she plays and has fun but it never leads to full blown sex. I like that. Finally a MC female to turn down the dirty tango and mean it.

Us women can have rules and still mess around.

The other parts I love about Madi is how she is snappy and stubborn but likable at the same time. Yes she makes mistakes and do dumb shit! But that’s just being human and having layers. We’ve all done this before.

She’s also stuck at a job she doesn’t love…a bartender isn’t a career. She never thought about her future past that and can’t afford college. This hit home because I had to drop out of college because of this. Money was tight so bye bye dorm room lol 😂

Anyway, I love her and all the twists and turns. The wallet scheme was genius from Lily her bestie, and the plan got her and the billionaire talking but I feel bad for Brad. The other guy…the sweet guy who is pushed past his limit. The third wheel in the relationship..Madi created a demon

I read only the first page (online via the Amazon book description). The first sentence promises nothing. Then the character starts a cool bath--and puts her feet into steaming water. It seems incomprehensible that there could be 355 pages of this drivel. I could not get past the first page, even though I have KU and could read the book for no extra charge. Congrats to the author on this book's apparent success, but I could not let this alone without a review.

This novel is truly one of a kind. The protagonist is so entertaining to read, the dialogue flows smoother, and the chemistry between the characters is undeniable. The author does such a fantastic job at keeping the attention of the reader and placing them on an emotional rollercoaster. Loves it.
