England, 1680 A. D.

Liara and Nagarath’s enemy has unexpectedly come to their aid, surrendering to the magick-suppressing forces of the king of France so as to buy time for their escape. But that doesn’t necessarily mean Anisthe is on their side. Vrsar’s war mage, Liara’s father-in-magick, has never been a man do to things for others. And he has always has plans within plans.

In fleeing to England with his apprentice, the Wizard Nagarath realizes that Liara’s power is no longer her own to command. With the shattering of Khariton’s magick mirror in the Palace of Versailles, the young woman has become trapped in an alliance with the ancient and evil mage. What is more, at eighteen-years-old, her life remains tied to Anisthe’s for another two years per the Laws of Magick. Anisthe, who is now imprisoned for having helped them evade the king’s spellpiercers.

Forced to revisit his own past, Nagarath is finally learning that there are some histories you cannot outrun. As for Liara, the darkness within her heart is greater than she ever could have imagined. This after Dvigrad’s orphaned magpie having finally learned to love. For, in the words of Khariton himself, “In magick you can never have friends. Only rivals.”

I LOVE THIS SERIES!

Please read book one and two before you jump into The Fatewrecker by M.K. Wiseman. I promise you won’t be disappointed. These books just keep getting better, and The Fatewrecker is definitely my favorite.

This story kept me on the edge my seat. The characters I have grown to love are going through their toughest points thus far, and I couldn’t stop reading to find out what would happen. I always start reading books too late into the night, and end up staying up way too late. Worth it though!

The world is just so intriguing, I was sucked right into the book. If you’re looking for an escapist read, this is one to try. I feel connected to these characters and this story. I can go on and on about how much I love this book and this series overall.

Read these books in order and you’ll fall in love, just like I did. I highly recommend The Fatewrecker!!

I was granted eARC access to The Fatewreaker as part of my participation in a blog tour for The Bookminder Series with Rachel's Random Resources. Thank you to all involved in affording me this opportunity! My thoughts are my own and my review is honest.

Liara's powers are no longer entirely under her control, and she's found herself unwillingly allied with an evil mage. Both Liara and Nagarath have a lot of personal growth to get through in this one as they learn to make the best out of bad situations, find the good in evil beings, and face the parts of their pasts that they can't outrun. Liara is 18 now and very much a blossoming young woman and no longer the headstrong girl of book one.

The action in this installment absolutely does not stop! Honestly, when I accepted all three books to review for the same single-day stop on this tour, I wasn't sure that I would get to the third book in time. Luckily this one flew by! Definitely don't skip to this one, you need to read this series in order, but know that you've got a wild ride to look forward to in book three.

While the real world Europe of the past but magic setting wasn't my favourite back in book one, I do feel like the wrinkles have been smoothed out now, and I totally buy this version of 17th Century Europe. Add in some very enjoyable characters, a high-stakes plot, and magic? It's a recipe for success!

Read these books if you love to escape into a fantasy world with a maturing YA protagonist and her still kind of clueless mentor.

Liara has freed Khariton from his mirror and is now his vessel. He is intent on using her power to destroy the world. She is heartbroken because she was trying to help him and doesn’t want the war he is going to cause. Nagarath decides to take her to his home in England to try to help her. But learns that the possession is worse than he feared.

At the same time, we find Kresimir who was sent to Merlin by Nagarath. Merlin may have been cursed but is still alive and is trying to fulfill a prophecy about Nagarath and Liara. But when Liara shows up on his doorstop for help he realizes that he might not be a match for Khariton anymore and might not be able to help.

I love how Liara and Nagarath have finally realized their feelings for each other, but Liara can’t have that with how fast Khariton is taking control. Nagarath has taken just to try to help Liara and it looks like he might not recover from his actions. But I hoped that he could break Liara’s spell in time or at the very least save her.

I like how this wrapped everything together and I loved the ending. This has been a good read and recommend this series. I think the reader will enjoy the journey. I will be keeping my eyes open for other books from M.K. Wiseman.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.

Really Hard to Put Down! Incredible Finale!

It picks up where book two left off and the action, battles, drama, twists and turns don't let up. I really thought there might be a book four in the last chapter with how some of the events played out and I wasn't sure it would be wrapped up in anyway.... but I was wrong, it did get wrapped up and I don't want to give anything away so I will keep this short. This series is prefect for fantasy and magic loving readers from 4th grade on up to adults. Liara starts out pretty annoying and kind of bratty in the first book but you get to see her really grow and mature through the series. The world and character building is fantastic and I also love the slight historical element with the legends of Merlin that are woven into these books. It's a unique story that pulls the reader in and I will be definitely looking for more by this author.

Parents: PG- This is pretty clean, I honestly don't remember any bad language, the violence is normal to mild fantasy levels and sexual content is minimal: attraction, flirtation, some kissing -light romance- kid friendly.

The narrator does a great job, has good differentiation between characters, and is fun to listen to.

After having read the previous books, I recommend you read them in order. The experience of this series is so much better if you have all the facts and if you see the story unfold book after book.

With each journey that Liara and Nagarath go through, we learn more about the world and the Magick system. Plus, I love to see their development and how they dealt with the issues arising. Plus I loved to see the consistency in their personalities, even if some thing change and relationship grow and they have to get strong and all that, I loved the little elements about the characters that made me love them the first time.

I still love the historical feel it had, it was fun to see how the author connected the history, the cities and the reality with the fiction aspects. I love the fantasy in the book and I just want more books in this universe.

Overall, I love the book. I loved the series. It was unique, it was fun, it was like going back to that feeling I first had when I read a fantasy book when I was a teenager. And I will continue to be on the look-out for future books by this author.
