This audiobook inspired me and encouraged me to do uncomfortable things. I don’t want to be old and look back and have regrets over things I didn’t do because of fear. Her backstory was amazing and explained the grit and tenacity she has so much! Without her there would be no Clever Girl Finance. I loved the q&a thought provoking questions after the chapters too!!

I was first introduced to Bola Sokunbi—the founder and CEO of Clever Girl Finance—on content creator Kelsey Darragh’s YouTube channel. Right away, I noticed that unlike other financial experts, Sokunbi wasn’t cold, unrealistic, or judgy. Instead, she approached the topic of women’s financial wellness with warmth, humor, and understanding. Her website and YouTube channel provide solid information and accessible solutions for women of all backgrounds.

This book allows readers to understand how the varied experiences of Sokunbi’s grandmothers, aunties, and mother have influenced her life and career. She offers her story not as a step-by-step guide, but as a way to underscore the key insights that have sprung from her journey. At the end of each chapter, Sokunbi asks readers to consider how they can incorporate these insights into their own lives. The result is a book that’s as personal to the author as it is to the reader.

I’m a HUGE fan of Bola and everything Clever Girl Finance and being a friend have had front row seats to her incredible success which as she shows in this book, has come at a huge price of sacrifice, such hard work and a continuous commitment to CGF! But even I don’t know the whole of it and this book was such an insight into the mind and the life behind the brand and such a great motivation to go out and try and do the thing that you are passionate about! I loved working through the questions at the end of each chapter and asking myself questions I never had thought to ask! Can’t wait for part 2 of this book in 10 years time!

My first read of 2023. A truly inspiring book. The author writes about her journey towards prosperity and in this process gives the readers hope that they can achieve the same.

While the book is an autobiographical account, the questions that the author poses at the end urges the reader to answer some very pertinent questions that will make them analyse their existing situation and provide clarity going ahead.

All the chapters are very well written, yet my favourite remains the one on Imposter Syndrome.
