Dreadful. The reason I gave it any stars at all is due solely to Judith Tarr and Le Guin — and even those were not paragons of the oeuvre.
The quality of the writing is overall quite low, aside from the Baen-typical racism, sexism, and ableism. Also, the ebook formatting is atrocious — three stories are missing huge chunks of texts right out of the middle; the thing is riddled with typos; the kerning is uneven.
There are serious issues with the text of the Kindle edition easily seen in the last part of “Gem Planet” but are sprinkled though out the whole book. The book was probably OCRed and not proofread afterwards.
