A continuation of Our War, this story follows the lives of the people at the Losers camp/farm. King James is not in a forgiving mood and the Losers must be on constant alert. And, as you would expect not everyone is on their best behavior, to the detriment of those trying to survive. Word from inside the nearby city sickens the Losers as they find out just how far down King James has taken the community. They find others fighting the King but not getting much done. So, they make a plan to rid the town of the King and end the threat. Great lessons along the way on perseverance and plain old not giving up.

Our War Volume 2 is a gripping and faced paced continuation of Maverick’s post-catastrophe war that still has plenty of questions that need answers, while providing action, suspense, and a sense of desperation for survival without threatening the use of a nuclear weapon. Simple and authentic, Maverick uses the basic human elements of survival to paint a picture of people just trying to keep hope alive in this second offering. If you like military thrillers, survival stories, and action/suspense, this is for you.
What Maverick learned from volume 1, he definitely applied in volume two, and with great results.

Our World Volume II is precisely what readers were needing after the battle the Losers Army faced at the end of Our World.
Volume II grabs your attention form the very beginning. Providing an in-depth, action packed adventure. While reading, you feel like you are right there with the team as they face new threats.
Definitely a must read. I could not put this book down, once I stated reading it. I cannot wait to read the next book.

Outstanding follow up to Our War. Picking up where book one ended with one hell of a cliff hanger and continuing full throttle until the last page. Volume II is every bit as raw, gritty, and timely as Volume I, and a lot more brutal. I highly recommend this series to anyone that enjoys a world without rule of law storyline, like One Second After by William R. Forstchen or Trackers by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. I am definitely looking forward to more great stories from Richard Maverick.

“Our War, Volume II” has a refreshing raw edge to it that lends itself to the storyline’s lawless setting. This is a hardline story of survival in a brutal world. Maverick has a keen attention to detail that makes it hard to put the book down after the first page. Great job, and am looking forward to Volume III.

I want to start off by saying, this is not the type of book I read, whatsoever. I am fairytales and magic and everything sparkly. That being said. BUY THIS BOOK! It was an amazing change of pace. I’ve read book one, and I highly enjoyed it, but Volume II is leaving me BEGGING for more!

The way Mr. Maverick writes, makes you feel like you’re there, you’re apart of the team. You’re on the inside, you know everything they know while also knowing nothing that’s going to happen next. You can feel the weather, smell the coffee and let’s not forget the scent of his infamous cigars.

I can truly say I’ve never read a book where I feel so vulnerable at every turn of the page, all while being in the comfort of my own home. Feeling like you're apart of the story, is what every reader wants. PLEASE let there be a volume 3. I NEED to get lost in the post apocalyptic world again.

Wow! What a follow-up! If you read the first volume, you know this one is a must! It picks up literally right after Volume 1 ends and keeps up the pace, plus some! The author has really improved his craft and says as much in the introduction, and it shows. He develops the characters and world they live in more. Plus he ratchets up the actions and the danger, giving Will and his gang of Losers more to deal with. The plot is even more real than the first volume and just as timely: divisiveness, human trafficking, and drugs all make for an all-too-real experience that speaks to the world we live in today.

I couldn't put the book down. The author literally keeps the reader guessing and wanting more, all the way until the end (literally!). I can't wait for the third volume that was basically guaranteed by the ending. Richard Maverick just keeps getting better!
