Five Dates

Rate this book
“Time to put on the Perfect Julia mask they have all come to expect…perfect mom, perfect wife, perfect home, and perfect family. If only life were so damn perfect.”

Julia is the ‘go-to’ person for everyone in her life. While observing her parents' anniversary party (that she, of course, planned), she is struggling not to show how close to the brink her emotions are. Most of the town is in attendance, except the one person who matters to her the most—her husband, Jackson. Julia knows it's time to make some drastic changes in her life.

Somewhere along the way, in making sure all those around her have what they need, Julia lost herself. Jackson believes he is doing everything for his family by working hard and keeping them financially secure.

To find happiness, Julia must finally put herself first and take the time to figure out who she is, what she wants, and how to get there. How can she be her best self to others if she is not happy?

Her therapist recommends five dates with her husband, along with some self-reflection. Her friends and family take matters into their own hands by hijacking those five dates and through humor and intimate moments they hope that Julia and Jackson can find their way back to solid ground.

Is the solution for Julia and Jackson found in the five dates planned by those that care about them?

This was a cute story about a married couple that is on the brink of divorce. A lot of their situations were relatable. I enjoyed the characters and their friends. I also liked that in the end the husband became so supportive of her since she had been so supportive of him for so long. I'm not a huge fan of "bodice rippers" this wasn't all about that but the sexy scenes just felt kind of cheesy.
