The dedication : « To those who feel as though they don’t fit in. Your difference is your superpower. Use it » ❤️‍🔥

« We? She questioned
- Of course. You don’t have to go through this alone »

Ares wakes up after a 14 years hibernation where he learns that his parents had signed him up for human/animals experimentation - Making him part wolf/titanium frog/spider, etc. They call them the ‘hybrids’. I’ve grown attached to all of the characters! They’re all multi layered.

This book was unlike anything I’ve ever read and I really enjoyed it. You’re kept in the unknown all along - and the last 60 pages are🤯🤯

I will definitely read the rest of this series (it’s a trilogy) and BTW - it’s on KU! (I have the physical copy but read it on my brand new kindle 🥹💕)

I’m not ashamed to say that I cancelled plans to finish this book in one sitting and it was 100% worth it!! 😂 (sorry Chels)

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review and boy, I’m not sure I have the words to write a full review… that ending left me speechless.

Kirsty has really outdone herself here, promising a YA dystopian word with similar themes to The Hunger Games and Twilight. I love seeing her inspiration reflected in Yield, yet it still took on a completely new angle of fantasy, like nothing I’ve read before!

I’m obsessed with the majority of the characters, and the friendships and beginnings of a love story in this book will warm your heart. 🥰

I’m so excited to see what book 2 will bring!!

This was honestly one of the best dystopian books I’ve read in a long time. The author, on TikTok, compares this to The Maze Runner, and this is wayyyy better! Kirsty actually reveals worldbuilding secrets along the way, keeping readers satisfied, rather than revealing it all at the end in the last chapter.

The voice was truly authentic to a teenager, and all the MCs actions made sense! And you had me gasping about the story until the last page!

I’m a dystopian writer too, and I hope I someday write a story as good as this! Kudos, Kristy!

3.5⭐️ Dystopian Farm Animorph Soldier Story

Don’t ask me why - but I just keep picturing the animorph book covers as soon as they introduced the concept of these characters being genetically experimented on and spliced their dna with animals to make super soldiers. This story is from the POV of Ares, the newest recruit woken from hibernation. With no memories of his past life, he awakes to this new life on a farm with other modified hybrids such as himself. In an effort to get them to mutate and evolve, the man who runs the Farm puts them through challenges and trials. Except people do not survive very long. Ares is a pacifist who does not want to mutate and give into the cruel instincts of his animal side, so he fights to stay alive and to stay himself as conspiracies grow and develop around him. I thought this book was well written, an easy to follow read, a good palate cleanser. I felt the end a little bit anticlimactic. But I would be interested to see where it goes.

This book seriously just blew all my expectations away.

Due to never have read anything from Kirsty before, and well-knowing that Yield is her debute Novel, I didn't have too high hopes for this book, but DANG I was wrong!

This book is written in a way I have never experienced before and I absolutely loved it, even though I was a bit sceptical about it when reading the first 3 chapters. The whole story had me questioning and wondering the whole time, and I stayed up til 6am in the morning one night cause I simply could not lay the book away(RIP my Sociology grades for that)! And the plot is so geniosuly layed out, making me go from 😐→🧐→😱→😍. And it's so amazing how it has a touch of The Hunger Games and Twilight in it, making my search of similar books over.

I also absolutely adore how we are as readers introduced to Ares, but also get to bond with many other characters, making it feel like you have a personal connection to each one of them. I feel like, after this book, they are all my friends and the ending definitely crushed me cause now I gotta wait til DECEMBER for the next part😭

I definitely recommend everyone to give it a read, and don't judge it by the first few chapters. It will have you hooked in no time! And if you're unsure about it being a Dysotopian Novel, don't worry, cause there is so much other stuff going on, such as Romance and, of course my favorite, FANTASY!

Oh my. This book had me hooked!! The intrigue you get from page one, just wow!

I love the characters, the suspense, the world building.

You know just as much as the main character which really puts you in the story. It leaves you guessing all you know and theorizing everything.

And my oh my the plot twists! They had me looking around shocked. You know they’re well done when you’re left speechless.

The ending is amazing. It gives you enough answers but let’s you wanting so much more of the story.

I cannot wait for the rest of the series. I neeeeed to know. Thank you for this amazing story.

I was really interested in this book after seeing it pitched on TikTok by the author as Hunger Games meets Twilight, and Maze Runner. I just loved the days of YA supernatural romance and dystopian so was very happy to be lucky enough to recieve an early copy of this to review. All opinions on this book are my own.

Definitely similar in vibes to the above books but unique concept nonetheless. Ares wakes up with no memory of his previous life only to find he was given to the Farm by his parents to give him a chance of surviving the War, by becoming a hybrid and training to survive.

He is quickly introduced to his pack, and his alpha Lora. The stakes are high, secrets unfold along the way and this book is all go. It's going to be a long wait until December after that ending!!

What an outstanding entrance into the YA world from Kirsty Bright, I was hooked from the very first page. This was one I could not put down.

Yield held me captive from the very first page which is an outstanding accomplishment as it is rare that I am so engrossed in a book so quickly. There is well thought out mystery and suspense a touch of romance and a major plot twist that I very much did not see coming. I tried to figure out what was going on through the entire reading of Yield but was pleasantly surprised that all of my theories were incorrect.

Mutants, trials, friendship, mystery, suspense and a touch of love…what more could you want.

I cannot wait to read the next instalment in The Titanium Trilogy!

Oh my gosh I am obsessed with this book!!

I literally read this book within two sittings. I was instantly drawn into this world that she created. This book is a young adult dystopian but it also has some elements of fantasy. They were twists and turns throughout this story and by the end of the book my face was like 😧😧

This is literally the best dystopian book I have read in the longest time. 👏🏻 👏🏻 Plus, this is her debut novel & she’s an absolutely sweetheart! Go pick up this book when it’s released 8/5!! Counting down until December 2022 for book 2 in this series! ❤️

Do yourself a favor… READ THIS! I am almost speechless after finishing this incredible book! Wow. Wow. WOW! I never saw that twist ending coming! Bright knocked it out of the park in this debut and had me from chapter 1, truly. I was immediately drawn in to Bright’s writing, world building, the air of the unknown, and the incredible characters she has created. The Farm is a place Ares never expects to wake up in, robbed of his memories and with abilities of animals. From the jump, he feels like he doesn’t belong. He feels entirely out of place among the rest of his pack, and refuses to play by The Farm’s rules. Instead, he chooses to use his wit and humor to build relationships. Ares is a character I related to so easily. Anyone who has ever felt like they don’t belong can relate to Ares. But instead of following the rest of the pack, he chooses to be himself, even when it’s awkward or painful. He chooses to love in his relationships not just romantically, but his incredible friendships too. I will be thinking of this story for months to come until Bright gives us the next book in this incredible tale!

If you enjoyed the maze runner and the hunger games you will absolutely love this!

Absolutely loved the dual perspective and the way it gives just that little bit from an "unknown" character. Those little sneak peaks really make a difference in keeping you on your toes throughout. Excellent story and so excited for the second installment !!

Reminds of shatter me and divergent but better. It also isn't so teenagery its more of a young adult vibe and I could really resonate with the story. This was amazing and the twists that kept coming were brilliantly thought out. I want book two!!!

This. Book.

I am.. I can’t…

Ok, it takes a lot for me to get into a book like this. I love dystopian, but I’m so picky about storylines that dystopian DNF is more likely in my house than not.
However, this book… grabbed me. I forgot I was reading.. I was there in with the pack.

(I also got very excited when I saw the name Lora.. which is how I spell my name amongst friends and family)

Its strange because it’s a slow starter.. but a gripping slow starter.
And about 1/3 of the way in.. hooked..

I had figured out that Ares wasn’t a 2nd gen.. but I assumed he was a 1st.. destined to be another alpha.. nope. Wrong.

And the ultimate twist.. y’all know of which I speak… I DID NOT GUESS!! And I’m good at breaking twists!!

I don’t know how I’m going to wait until December.. I need the second book now!

3.5/5

This was an interesting read! The author has said books like The Maze Runner, The Hunger Games and Twilight inspired her to write Yield. I could see evidence of that in the writing.

One thing I found especially interesting was at the beginning of most dystopian novels, you are generally given a decent explanation of what went wrong and why. (Another world war, a virus, etc.) While the author does provide a little bit of background, the reader and the MC have very little to go off of. In fact, by the end of the book you still aren’t sure what exactly has happened in and to the world.

I was able to predict who was in charge of The Farm early on even though it wasn’t revealed until the end, but I didn’t expect the other twist!

Would recommend to YA Dystopia lovers!

Yield is a YA dystopian that has you guessing wtf is going on and turning the pages to find out. It's a great story that follows Ares, a young man who awoke from hibernation only to find his genetic code has been altered and mutated with various animals to make him a sort of weapon for a war going on outside the walls of The Farm, a safe zone training facility. He finds a family with his pack, but still feels like an outsider because he doesn't want to mutate, or give into his new animal instincts, for fear of hurting someone and straying from his humanity.

It's an action-packed book full of challenges and shocking twists at the end. Kirsty does a great job with the characters, a realistic romance subplot, and slowly feeding us information as to why The Farm exists.

Very interesting concept, very mediocre execution. I’m not sure if this book was even edited. If it was, the editor deserves to be fired. It’s like someone took a thesaurus and swapped out their day to day vocabulary in order to create some big brain gobbledygook. Don’t even get me started on the grammar and syntax.

I almost DNF this one. But I persevered. All of that said… I will be reading the sequel.

DNF at 55%. I loved the premises, but I thought the execution was poor. It didn't make sense that MC has no memories but his parents are super important for him, or that he's been in the Farm for a couple of days and acts as if he's been there for quite some time, commenting on habits and usual behaviors of farmers. There was close to no plot after the intriguing start, just an artificial succession of scenes.

I received and ARC of this book and although the concept is interesting, I struggled to get through the book unfortunately. It was only in the last couple chapters that it peaked my interest. I’ll still read the next book when I comes out ☺️

Thank you to Kirsty Bright and Untuned Publishing for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Kirsty Bright marketed Yield on booktok as a mashup of inspiration from The Maze Runner, Divergent, The Hunger Games, Red Rising, and Twilight. I can see the elements and the inspiration from the previously mentioned books. But unfortunately it set high expectations, which I felt weren’t met.

This is a young adult novel which follows Ares a human animal hybrid. Who spent 14 years in hibernation on “The Farm”, he is woken up and thrown into a pack of other hybrids. They are to be warriors to fight in a war that is waging outside of the fence. They evolve and mutate using anger and love.

I love a male main character, but I had a hard time liking Ares. He felt a little one dimensional, as did the other characters in this book.

This book is told from a first person point of view. I was hoping for a more in-depth look at the character as well as how they were experiencing what they were going through in this book. As a first person point of view I was looking forward to Ares jumping into the river and careening down the waterfall. The action and important plot points in this book almost felt brushed over rather than explored and experienced by the characters.

There were points in the book where the character would “think” things and the formatting in the book would change. Some internal dialogue had quotations around it while some was in italics, and than some of it was in quotations and italics. It made the book a little confusing to follow and know if it was internal dialogue or not.

The first half of the book is set up as a multiple POV story, but as we progress deeper into the story we only get Ares and Marshall’s POV’s. I would have enjoyed seeing their point of views throughout the story rather than only getting theirs at the start of the story. That being said I did like was that the characters name was at the top section so you at least knew who’s POV it was.

The power system is an interesting concept. Humans which are spliced with animal genetics, and are able to evolve and mutate into stronger forms. The powers were interesting but I felt the application of them was a little messy and I couldn’t fully wrap my head around how the emotions anger and love came into it. Get angry to mutate and feel love to evolve, it almost felt like it needed more differentiation between mutating and evolving.

The big reveal at the end of the book was Marshall being the character “Him”, and Ares brother. It was unexpected but Ares reaction was glazed over and it almost felt like everything Ares had experienced throughout the book was simply thrown away at the end.

Overall the book was okay, I wanted to like this book more than I did. The ending of this book and the characters aren’t enough for me to read the next book in the series.

Will I buy this book in paper back? No
Will I read the next book in the series? No
Would I recommend this book? No

quick read. the characters are too one dimensional and the author tells you rather than shows you. the world building and dialogue need improvement. i am curious about why everything is the way it is so that is the only reason i’m continuing the series

…update, i cannot continue the series

I love this story! I randomly saw this book when I was with my friend and took it to read. And I knew nothing about it before reading. It turned out that this is an amazing dystopian! It has everything I missed since Maze Runner or Divergent. I`ve read this book in 3 days only, and it could turn all my emotions on. I was surprised that this is a new author and this trilogy isn't popular. Recommended.
