Along the way, she comes across many obstacles such as being poisoned by the crown princess and the crown princess father, trouble in the court, and a servant from the crown prince's manor. The pressure of the palace seems to get to Na sometimes get to her, but she overcomes the pressure. Strives to make the harem a place of peaceful relations. Between the poisoning and the attempted murders. She over comes a lot of self-doubt and finding her way through the trials of palace life.

great read
This is the first book k e read by Alicia Clements and I will be reading more. I loved it, the intrigue and love flowed through the whole story. It was well written and gripped me from the start. Great story — one I would recommend .
