If you love history and are intrigued by the Tudors, then you need to read The House of Tudor, an informative and enjoyable book full of interesting information that you don't learn in school. Highly recommend!

Please note: I was given a copy of this book and have voluntarily decided to give it this honest review.
This book manages, in only sixteen chapters, to cover English history from the end of the War of the Roses to the end of the Tudor Era. Even though there were only five rulers in this time, the Tudors were able to take England from a Medieval culture into the English Renaissance. King Henry VIII, in order to have a male heir, ended up starting a religious revolution that resulted in England changing from a predominantly Catholic country into a Protestant country. The final ruler was Queen Elizabeth I who was able to bring wealth and stability to the country: the English Navy was a predominant force, Catholics and Protestants were allowed to observe their religion openly, the Bible and other religious texts were translated into English, theater productions and other arts flourished. The book presented all this information in an easy to read format. The illustrations used were clearly identified and served to make the information only easier to understand and appreciate. Currently there are films, TV shows, and books that take place during the Tudor Era and this book is an excellent source of information as to what was really going on.

England’s History
Realizing that the country’s history is lengthy I felt that the early portion of this writing was hard to follow - should have been summarized or accompanied with a chart to lay-out who was who & who belonged (descended from…) whom.
Good highlights & summaries of the actual Tudor royals. Appreciated the reports on these monarch’s advisors.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I found it very informative and easy to read. There was a lot of events and changes during this time period and much more than I was aware of.

Every chapter repeats and last and the chapter before that! I’m listening to the audio book version narrated by jay Herbert and I’m holding back the screams. He keeps pronouncing ‘Warwick’ wrong and in three or four chapters it is being said every line! Absolutely annoying and infuriating.
