Crime Never Pays… Well yes and no depending on what side of the fence you’re on!
I’ve always had a strong passion for whodunnits, crime series, and books. The more I immersed myself in it, the stronger the fascination grew.
In my spare time, you’ll find me in the gym, reading, binge watching Netflix or taking walks in the forest.
Oh, and I’m an avid people watcher, I just love to watch people, their mannerisms, and their way of expressing their thoughts… weird I know, but I could spend hours doing that. It's funny, because watching people often gives me insights and inspiration for describing human interaction in my books.
Fun fact: My favourite, bestest place ever on earth? Any of the Florida theme parks and the mad coasters out there. Add the food, shopping and weather, and you've got the best place on earth... especially when I see the joy on the faces of my family when we're out there :)
Weird fact: Spending an afternoon in a mortuary to bring my books to life. Oops! poor choice of words there :)
A decent set of stories even though a bit stereotypical with a female cop downtrodden and trying to find her way back after being used as the scapegoat when something went wrong that wasn’t her fault but she doesn’t really help herself by going off on her own to prove a hunch.
Heath is quite likeable and deserves a break but has to answer to her boss who seems never have been a policeman with unreasonable demands effectively expecting miracles whilst always putting down Heath. As ever she has a good loyal team around her who go above and beyond to help her.
I really enjoyed reading these books very well written and researched.I would recommend to my friends. Too many puffed out cheeks, arms folded across chests ,rolled eyes and nobody says bollocks
Finally got around to finishing the fifth book in the Karen Heath series. Some of the previous books I had found at times perhaps more graphic in the crime scenes than perhaps I felt was needed. DI Karen Heath I also found at times a bit distant. This time though it all seemed so much better and Karen had a real personality. The story moves from London to York with comparative ease as Karen with the York DCI Zak try to piece together the links between the murders that are taking place.
