AJ Skelly (also writing as April J. Skelly) is an author, reader, and lover of all things fantasy, medieval, and fairy-tale-romance. And werewolves. She has a serious soft spot for them. As an avid life-long reader and a former high school English teacher, she's always been fascinated with the written word. She lives with her husband, children, and many imaginary friends who often find their way into her stories. They all drink copious amounts of tea together and stay up reading far later than they should.

Yup! After reading these back to back to back to back, Bowen I still my favorite werewolf boy 😂 but I do love Cade and Sarah and this is still a perfect ending to the series!

OG review:
I still think I like Sworn Shift better, but I do love Cade! The angst in this is higher than the others—but that happens with forbidden love 😂 All in all, I loved it! (And lowkey, would love to read Donovan’s story! He seemed like a sweet dude!)

Content: descriptive kisses, closed door romance, making out, mentions of blood, fighting, and nudity (but in a tasteful way that doesn’t leave you uncomfy).

[Edited upon reread.]

4⭐️, but for YA content issues.🤷‍♀️

Very happy to see a different plot in this book, not just different characters. I think the first and the fourth (this book) were my favorites as the middle two felt too much like the first. [Though my favorite couple is book three’s.]

Skelly writes great characters! They are each drawn distinctly, and I rarely have to check to see whose pov I am reading. I do enjoy the werewolf elements since she focuses just on the shapeshifting aspect of it, not the dark stuff, but it’s her characters that I really enjoy. Sarah and Cade are an interesting couple, and I enjoyed their story, even though I don’t relate to either one of them—they’re one of those power couples.🤭

I wish this series had been marketed to adults not teens, since the romantic elements are too frequent and too detailed for teens. As I said in my review of the last book, I love that she values marriage and that sexual activity belongs in marriage, but it’s contradictory, imo, to include steamy content in a book to teens who typically are NOT married. (In this context, I am referring to steamy, detailed kissing scenes with lots of desire written in, talking and sometimes joking about sex, and closed door scenes involving married couples.) No, the unmarried couples are not having sex, but the writing stirs up thoughts and feelings before their appropriate time.

There is an upside of these books for teens, besides the value placed on marriage. Skelly’s men are gentlemen— they are respectful and loving. They open doors for women—yes, even the “strong” women. They restrain themselves during intense kissing, showing us that no matter how hard it is, that locomotive called desire, which is barreling down the tracks at an alarming speed *can* be stopped.

Something to note is that the value of waiting until marriage is built into their culture, which gives them even more motivation, beyond the respect they have for their girlfriends, to put on the brakes. Sadly, we don’t value that as a culture anymore. People don’t realize that for every person they are intimate with before marriage, they are that much less able to bond with their future spouses. (Skelly brings this aspect out in book three.)

Pros and cons to this series, for sure. If she had dialed back on the details and the intensity of the desire during the kissing scenes, I could definitely recommend them for teens. There are some valuable life-lessons in these books.

This book drops you right into the action which I didn’t expect (I missed that this was the 4th book). Having not read the other books in the series I recommend doing that before starting this one. That not withstanding this was a great ending of a series, it tied up all the story lines from the previous books. I loved Sarah and Cade, their tension was very hot at times and had just the right amount of teen angst. I’m a sucker for a good werewolf story and this did not disappoint. Check out the whole series and werewolves are you jam.

What an incredible ending to such an amazing series! I absolutely love the chemistry between the characters and how real they all seem! I adored the forbidden love, the stolen kisses, and the challenges our beloved characters went through. And I'm not one who is interested in sports or tournaments of any kind, but I was HOOKED! I think AJ Skelly might be the only person who can get me truly invested in a sports scene. Lol This book is such an awesome addition to my library!

A heart-pounding finale to the Wolves of Rock Falls series...
This book definitely makes you finish it in one sitting. With twists and turns that even I didn't see coming, I was pleased with this finale to the Wolves of Rock Falls series.
I really Cade and Sarah's relationship. They have such fun, flirty dialogue, and they reminded me of characters from my own books (Bayanna and Cam from Etania's Calling). I also liked how the author made Cade and Sarah have the "determine the relationship" talk early on. I would have been as frustrated as Cade if they continued to play cat and mouse throughout the book. Instead, the author focused on them overcoming obstacles to their relationship, including many they made for themselves! I found Cade's competition (Donovon, the twins, and Max) to be interesting characters, especially Donovon, who I hope AJ has a series about sometime. I like how Sarah got some girl talk with our favorites from the rest of the series, and how Cade fought desperately to keep Sarah. And the ending...it was just perfect!
Full warning for my more conservative friends, this book is just as steamy as the one about Bowen and Raven. Although it "fades to black" when the actual deed is done, there are plenty of descriptions of them making out. There is a sex talk, but it isn't about the actual deed, but about how sex between virgins is unique and beautiful in its own, awkward way. Again, I wouldn't recommend this for teenagers.
Overall, this book took different directions plot wise and showed a fun relationship that is different than her other books!

"My soul sang for him. Wolf howled inside. My blood ignited with him"

Welcome to the 4th book of The Wolves of Rock Falls where we follow the unlikely match of Sara and Cade. Sara isn't supposed to fall for Cade...so what is she supposed to do when she finds herself falling hopelessly for him? I've said this in the last review, but I feel like these books get better and better with each installment. The amount of time AJ dedicates to truly designing the werewolf culture and the history to support the book is astonishing. I love each character's stories so much. I really enjoyed Cade and his mindset to do everything in his power to win Sara. This series has a lot of characters and not much will make sense if you jump into this one, so I highly advise reading the others first. This book is fade-to-black, light romance-it is perfect for those who like a little love but not a full-blown romance book or teens entering the romance scene. There's a line where they mention "boobs" and I just imagine teenage me blushing if I had a chance to read it.

Thank you so much to AJ Skelly and her team for providing a copy of this book for an honest review.

It was such a roller coaster ride reading about the “The Wolves Of Rock Falls”. Every book has a different pair but the love and emotions and struggles give you the same jittery feeling. In this one, we get to see Cade and Sarah, who were introduced by chance in book one and it took three books for them to realize a lot of things about each other. The glimpses in other books were enough to set the pace for the final show. I loved how the writer has written this book and the actions, the plot is something I haven’t been expecting. It’s a new thing and is bang on enjoyable. The support other characters give each other matches of any close knitted family, practically they are family to each other and are a solid support system for Cade and Sarah in their journey. Cade’s character is so sweet and breathtaking whereas Sarah is more reasonable and responsible. It was adventurous to see how the hurdles are passed and victory is attained.

It’s a 4.5⭐️ for me.

AJ Skelly’s Pack Shift is the last in one of my favorite series. I’m sad that it’s come to an end but I think it’s still my favorite. Sarah and Cade’s story is one of star crossed lovers and it’s a sweet love. It’s a fitting conclusion to the Wolves of Rock Falls series. I cannot wait to read the sister series when it comes out!

Seeing this series end was so bittersweet for me. Watching Sarah and Cade’s interest in each other build over the previous books and also observing the close knit friendships that all of the young werewolves develop between the allied packs was sweet and came to such a fulfilling conclusion in Pack Shift. I really enjoyed how while Skelly never lost the emphasis on how important true love is to the werewolves, with Sarah, who is destined to be an Alpha in her own right someday, it was also about choice. This wasn’t a love at first sight, fated relationship. Sarah and Cade were friends who ultimately respected and trusted one another enough that it blossomed into love. Skelly also folded in the excitement of both Cade’s basketball season and the Lecassere tournament explained first in the prequel novella, Dark Shift. I loved this book from start to finish. It was both exciting and heartfelt. Though I am sad the Wolves of Rock Falls series has ended, it felt like a satisfying conclusion. I’ll be rereading them all in the future.

Loved it!!!! Told from Cade (who we all love) and Sarah's POVs, this book has everything:
Romance...sweet young love
Plot Twists
Slow burn
Werewolves
Character you love to hate
Relatable High School characters
Adventure and excitement....
I could go on 😁. This book (and series) is perfect for young adults and older young readers, or adults like me, who love a good fantasy story and WOLVES ❤. Think Twilight if it was written only about Jacobs pack.

Great ending to an awesome series, can't wait for the spin offs!! Cade and Sarah have been a will-they, won't-they "couple " for a couple books now, and I was begging for a Cade book after the last one. I was not disappointed! Loved the tie in to Dark Shift (the prequel) as well.

I have read all of The Wolves of Rock Falls and this one is, by far, my favorite! Sarah's and Cade's relationship is pure goodness with the perfect amount of mischief and spice. I love the challenges and the camaraderie of all of the characters I've met throughout the series. I'm sad to see them go!

A perfect finish to the series! The swooniest romance and it's no secret, this was the couple I'd been waiting for. Sarah and Cade's story is everything I wanted and MORE! Can I just say how much I love the theme of a girl needing to take charge and the boy who loves her supporting her, challenging her, respecting her, loving her...ahhh I loved it!

Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC for an honest review.

As the Alpha's daughter, Sarah isn't allowed to be in love with Cade. But she is. When they're caught by a suitor some place they shouldn't be, Sarah must claim Lacessere to save Cade's life, but it means they can never be together.

Desperate, Cade finds a loophole that allows him to enter the dangerous competition for Sarah's hand. The contenders are fierce, and the games are stacked against him. With hope dwindling and the threat of another war brewing between the werewolves, will Sarah and Cade find a way to be together, or will they sacrifice everything for the good of their packs?

The world in The Wolves of Rock Falls series keeps getting better with each book. Finally got Cade’s story and it was EVERYTHING I needed and more! We were introduced to new characters adding to the story beautifully. I enjoyed the way the story progressed.

The relationship between Cade and Sara was incredibly fun to witness. Their romance was heart warming and adorable. I loved them even more as they were different from the other couples of the series. The Lacessere was as intense as expected.

I loved watching the couples from the prequels interacting with each other in the background. I’m itching to read the series from the start again now!

This has been an incredible journey through this series, and Pack Shift not only met but exceeded my expectations. The unique characters had me falling in love once again. I love Cade! How he loves and cares for his basketball team, how sports were woven into the plot, how it all came together in the end. This is such a feel good, can't-put-it-down, all the best-squirmy-feelings book in the series! I loved every minute of it!

Amazing finale to the Wolves of Rock Falls series! I'm so excited that Cade got his own book! He's been a favorite since First Shift. He and Sarah together are magical. Just as action packed and swoony as the others (if not more so!), it was an amazing read, start to finish. This can be read as a stand alone book, but I'd highly recommend reading the first four beforehand to make sure you get the whole story. You won't regret it!

AJ Skelly saved the best for last! Pack Shift was amazing! I couldn't stop reading and didn't want it to end! Cade and Sarah’s love story was so sweet! The perfect ending to a great series. It's too bad cute werewolf Delaware boys don't actually exist. I feel gypped! This series is a perfect blend of sweet and spicy. The heat’s turned up a notch without leaving you feeling burned. One of my new favorite series with a great ending. Thanks to gwyn.launches.books for the ARC!

OH CADE. I’ve been rooting for Cade and Sarah since the very first book of the series, and it was a delight to see the two of them as the primary focus at last! Lots of fun, tons of angst, and one very specific closet scene had me on the edge of my seat. Also has some sweet sentimental scenes that recall some of the best moments in the whole series, and I admit I had a sniffle or two saying goodbye to the whole cast of characters.

Fantastic!!!

I couldn’t put this book down! I got so little sleep in the past 24 hours and so little work done. I thought I was going to just read for a little while and then sleep. Yeah, didn't happen. I just kept reading. Now I need to start over and read the whole series again! But first, sleep 😴

While my favorite wolf will always be Kyp, the plot of this book might have been my favorite in the series. I especially liked the tie in with the prequel.
And the ending with the whole crew made me a little bit teary. This wraps up the original series beautifully, but I am excited to know I'll get to see more of Donovan in the newest book!

I really loved this whole series and this book wrapped it up nicely. There’s still potential for more stories (which I love and can’t wait for the spin-off series) but this story felt complete at the end. It’s very wholesome romance with no explicit spice, but definitely teenage hormones and natural feelings. All of it was handled beautifully.

Thrilling conclusion to an epic series.

Cade & Sarah may have waited their turn, but what a turn they received! As a dude reading a paranormal romance, I’ll focus on my favorite parts. Integrity wins over arrogant treachery. Friendship rules, and love is worth waiting and fighting for. Seeing the good guys employ smart, clever tactics was wonderful. And for those who’ve loved the Rock Falls gang, they all get their moments to shine.
