Such a sweet and flirty novella to read. Especially during this time of year.

Raven is known as the rebound girl, despite her best efforts to catch a guy, they don’t seem to want to be in a genuine relationship with her. But when her longtime crush, Jace and his bad boy twin brother Logan are back in Ridgewater, Raven May have a chance in trying to win Jace’s heart.
But when she confuses the two twins and she ends up kissing Logan, will she ignore the butterfly feelings she has now for him? Or will she try to give Logan the chance to prove that he has changed since they were children?

This was such delightful and light story to read. It is mostly predictable by the end but throughout there are many sweet and flirty moments that will have you smiling for a while.

Short But Sweet

Wow, this book was over before I knew it. Short but sweet young adult romance novel. Light, flirty and fun.

Super cute novella.

I loved the MMC, Logan. I liked that he had overcome an alcohol addiction and was such a changed, mature person. And I liked that the experience had humbled him, so he was a tiny bit insecure with Raven. He didn’t take her for granted.

Content: clean, no swearing, some making out. The FMC has high moral standards- she likes making out with boys but doesn’t sleep with them.

Call me a hopeless romantic, but I dreamed of the day a tall, dark, and handsome guy would want me for more than just a night of noncommittal kissing. I wanted a boyfriend. I wanted waht Alyssa had with Trey. One of those relationships that everyone envied.
Yes, I knew I didn’t need a guy. But I wanted one.

I climbed out, but before I could shut the door, Logan leaned over the passenger seat. “What? No goodbye kiss like last night?”
I rolled my eyes. “In your dreams, Logan.”
“Always,” he said with a wink, just before I closed the door.

“But I’m going to be a good boy now.”
My heart sank a little. Was it bad that I really wanted him to have a streak of bad boy left in him?
He took my face in his hands and leaned his forehead against mine. “You don’t have to worry about being the rebound girl with me, Raven, because you’re the gift. You’ve always been the girl.”

I was expecting to get both Logan and Raven’s point of views but we only got Raven. I wish that we got Logan’s point of view.
This book was freaking adorable! It was so light and fun and not as emotional draining like Judy Corry’s previous book, My Second Chance (which I loved). I love all the Christmas vibes that I got from the book. Logan and Raven were freaking delightful. It touched on some tough subjects. The characters were easy to connect with. One thing I didn’t like was the fact that Raven couldn’t really tell Logan and Jace apart. But other than that, another successful book by Judy Corry. 4.75 stars.

Romance, clean but steamy (lots of kissing and moments, nothing explicit though); series, but stand-alone read
This was more of a 3.5 for me as a reader. Treated myself to this cute novella today. Raven and Logan's cute fall was full of chemistry and fun moments. Raven and Logan were a cute couple, former neighbors and one of them is reformed. The twin aspect of the story was cute. Characters from other novellas were mentioned, and I hadn't read them, but still a fun read. It is definitely a Y/A read, but anyone who can remember that time of life would enjoy it. Dealt with some serious issues including loyalty, honesty, alcohol use, and friendship. You could see the 'turn' coming but they were so attracted to each other it was so fun! Glad the 'secret' finally came out and was shared (the romantic one). Cute fall, and definitely a fun Y/A perspective that was real, honest, and heartfelt.

This book was adorable! The perfect amount of holiday fluff. It was super sweet and the romance scenes were swoonworthy. It did bother me how often the love interest winked though. And that the main character seriously couldn't tell the twin brothers apart, even after she got to know one of them. Twins may look identical, but they don't act the same way, so you should be able to tell them apart that way. Other than that, though, this book was so cute and I really enjoyed it.

My Mistletoe Mix-Up is a cute YA holiday read about a high school girl whose former boy-next-door crush moves back to town and she gets a second chance at love with him when she kisses him under the mistletoe at a party - only to find out it's actually his (evil!) twin! But is Logan still the bad boy Raven remembers, or has he truly changed?

Told in the first person past tense POV, I wasn't entirely sold on Raven's character, and that's what brought the whole book down a few notches for me. She's kind of spoiled and not terribly likeable. Yes, I'm sure it really sucks to be Rebound Raven. The book opens with her being consoled for being turned down by Noah, who is the male lead in book #3 in the series, so I wonder if she's set up as something of a villain in that book. Regardless, she comes off as fairly self-centered and spoiled throughout the book, and doesn't really have much character growth throughout.

Thankfully, Logan pretty much saves it. He's the bad boy twin next door who's learned some hard life lessons - and who doesn't love a bad boy with a heart of gold (and some Christmas underpants?) Logan and Raven's interactions are really cute, and some of their fake relationship moments are adorable, though I think Judy Corry tries to sell the enemies to lovers angle a little too hard. Why did they hate each other so much before Logan moved? It sounds like he teased her... because he liked her? And why is Logan's family suddenly super rich? There are a lot of plot holes, but if you just let go and let the Christmas magic happen, it's a pretty fun winter sleigh ride.

My Mistletoe Mix-Up is #5 in the Ridgewater High series, but is a stand alone novella. It can be read entirely as a stand alone; I haven't read any other books in the series and didn't feel lost at all, and I didn't feel like there were any spoilers in this book. For being a novella it was a pretty decent length, too, and felt like a complete story and not like a short story (as some holiday novellas that are a part of a greater series tend to do).

Judy Corry's latest book.

My Review:
Favorite Quote:

“I’m a recovering alcoholic.” An alcoholic. The words stuck in my mind. I’d heard of people being called alcoholics before, but in my head they were all middle-aged, angry men who abused their families. They weren’t incredibly handsome and vibrant teenage boys. They weren’t people like Logan.

I loved how this one wasn’t just about romance. It had a deeper message that I quite frankly loved. Not a lot of people talk about teenage drinking but its kind of a big deal. I remember when I was in HS and there was a recovering alcoholic in our grade. Everyone didn’t believe her or made fun of her (Not me) about it. So I can kind of related to how closed off Logan was about his past and how he guarded his heart as well.

Raven was pretty superficial at first but her growth skyrocketed after hanging out with Logan. I loved how she was so open-minded about herself and there were some great self-reflecting in this book. It was nice to see a beta boy bring that out in someone, without even meaning to. And I felt kind of bad for Raven with her nickname that pretty much gave herself. You could tell she started to feel differently about herself after being around Logan.

They were so cute together. From the ice cream shop to the swimming and the dance. Their interaction were so easy going yet charged with chemistry. It was some serious cuteness overload. And I enjoyed every moment of it. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

4.5 stars — Wow, another great YA holiday novella!! Again, touched on some tough subjects and had characters that were so easy to connect with. Honestly? This one surprised me with how much I liked it. I think I was worried about the bad boy aspect…

But Logan was freaking adorable. I loved that this former bad boy had had a crush on Raven from before, it was just so sweet. And man, touching on teenage alcoholism? Very interesting indeed. I knew that was coming, because of some reviews, but it didn’t make it less affecting. I just really loved how much depth there was for such a short novella.

Raven wasn’t what I expected at all! Sometimes I got a bit of a judgey feel from her (what with the ew band geek and such), but I don’t mind that. I love books that tackle characters on all ends of the social spectrum, because no matter your status, we’re all dealing with things. I found the whole Rebound Raven thing to be interesting, and how it messed with her confidence. And intriguing plot element for sure…

The star of this book was 100% the chemistry between Raven and Logan. I loved the way they teased, I loved that you could tell they gave each other butterflies (even though this was entirely in Raven’s POV), and hoo boy! Those kisses? Dynamite!

And now I’m curious about other books in this series. Definite success!

A Hallmark Movie in Book Form

If you’re a fan of all the cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies, this book is perfect for you! It’s just a Hallmark movie in the shape of a book!

I’m glad I read this short story in December. If I read it any other month of the year, it might make me miss Christmas a LOT. For a short story, “My Mistletoe Mix-Up” was brimming with all the Christmas magic and cheer you could need.

Sadly, just like many Hallmark Christmas movies, there wasn’t anything very remarkable about this story. Although I enjoyed read it, it wasn’t the best romance ever. It did have the addictive properties of Hallmark, though. I would promise myself I’d stop reading at the end of the chapter, but then I’d read three more chapters!

“My Mistletoe Mix-Up” is a cute, winter-y story for all your Christmas needs.

The other brother

After another rejection Raven was not sure who would be her date, but mistletoe changed everything and reunited her with an old friend or so she thought, turns out it's her old crushes brother/nemisis.

Logan is the bad boy twin brother who she really shouldn't like.

This story is a cute young adult story about a Christmas reunion with an unexpected love interest. Clean, but with chemistry. Told from her point of view.

I don't normally read ya but this was a good page turner for me. My first from this author. Will be interested in Jace and Alyssa's story plus reading the previous stories.

5⭐️ for Unexpected Holiday Love

A mistletoe mixup brings together the misunderstood bad boy and the not-so-mean girl.

Raven has been crushing on Jace Carmichael for as long as she could remember. When he and his twin brother Logan moved away after freshman year she never thought she’d be kissing “him”under the mistletoe a year and a half later.

This is a YA love story that has been a favourite for me. Redemption, figuring out there’s always more to the story than what you think you know and and sweet chemistry makes this a book I’m happy to re-read over the holidays!

I love it when the girl whose been looking for love in all the wrong places gets her HEA. Grab this Christmas novella today!

The Ridgewater High series is such a great ya romance series! I love any romance involving twins because there is probably gonna be some sort of mix up like this one.

A great fast-paced sweet ya romance to read especially if you're in a bit of a slump. I love Logan's cheekiness and his confidence and yet he still had a vulnerable side. Raven has a reputation of being 'Rebound Raven' but she gave me a very innocent vibe. She gave off a certain persona but had a completely different side to her.

It was a little predictable at times but I still really enjoyed it nevertheless.

Content: kissing only.

After being in a read slump for the last few days I knew one of Judy Corry’s books would bring me out of it. Boy was I right! Raven is at a party and kisses who she thinks is Jace but it ends up being his twin brother, Logan. My face hurt from the beginning from smiling so much. This book is CUTE!!!! It’s a clean romance but the kissing scenes were pretty hot for it only being that. I absolutely love Judy Corry’s writing and the way she just makes you love all her characters. Logan had my heart from the beginning. I’m a sucker for a bad boy, what can I say 🤷🏻‍♀️ if you’re looking for a cute Christmas novella READ THIS ONE!!!!

My Mistletoe Mix-Up by Judy Corry was kind of a cute YA romance but I expected more from it. I thought it would be way funnier and there would be some more banter between Raven and Logan. The synopsis hinted at hate-to-love trope but it wasn't really there. Furthermore, Raven annoyed me, and I didn't really care about anyone in this story. This story made me roll my eyes a bit but it did also make me smile at times. The very beginning was actually fun and the best part of this book. It was pretty light and very fast read. I feel like this was an OK book which missed out on its real potential, so 2.5 stars.

Cute, albeit a little cliche. A lot of identical twin related misunderstandings. And of course, the main character was an attractive and popular cheerleader, and the love interest was both sexy and rich.

Overall, a cute story though.

I’m giving this book 5 stars because it was such a sweet romance and what I really need right now. I don’t even mind that the main characters were only seventeen years old. I still loved it so much even though I admit that I’m not really into teen MCs. I loved it!

I really liked it. I was a little confused at first because this was attached to an audio book and started playing after the .5 part of the series. Yet, this story is part 5. It is a stand alone but the characters and back stories do connect a bit, so I would have liked to read it in order.

Terrific, YA, G-rated romantic comedy

Raven Rodgers had an unrequited crush for years on the boy next door, Jace Carmichael, but she could not stand Jace’s identical twin, Logan, who always teased her unmercifully. Eighteen months ago the Carmichael family moved away, and Raven is surprised and delighted to discover that they are back in town. Raven and the boys are 17-year-old juniors in high school versus the immature freshmen they were the last time they met, and she hopes that, maybe, just maybe, she might have a chance with Jace now. Then, to her utter amazement, Jace flirts with her and kisses her beneath a sprig of mistletoe at a Christmas party. She is thrilled that her chance for romance with Jace seems to have, at long last, arrived. Until she discovers the source of that toe-curling kiss isn’t actually Jace. It is her old nemesis, Logan.

Initially Raven is angry at Logan, because she assumes that he is simply, once again, yanking her chain, and in a more embarrassing way than ever before. But Logan assures her he’s not the same aggravating guy he used to be and, furthermore, he really needs her help. Without clearing it with him first, his mother has invited his unlamented, ex-girlfriend Olivia to visit their home. He is positive that the best way to avoid a messy encounter with Olivia is to convince her, once and for all, that he has moved on by presenting her with his new girlfriend. Which he assures Raven he can only do if she will agree to fake a romantic relationship with him.

This is a highly entertaining, G-rated, YA romantic comedy. Unlike far too many YA novels whose authors advertise them as comedies, this book is actually funny. I loved the switched-twins Meet Cute, and the ever popular fake-romance plot works really well in this story. I found both Raven and Logan to be quite likeable, and they make a terrific couple.

Judy Corry is outstanding at writing YA romances, such as this one, which fulfill the classic genre expectations of adult romance novels: no cheating, no romantic triangles, and dual point of view of the hero and heroine. She always includes, as well, a very satisfying HEA.

All in all, I highly recommend this novel to fans of YA romantic comedy.

I rate this book as follows:
Heroine: 4 stars
Hero: 5 stars
Subcharacters: 4 stars
Romance Plot: 5 stars
Writing: 5 stars
Overall: 4.5 rounded to 5 stars

Judy Corry has become one of my favorite authors. I have really enjoyed all of the books in her Ridgewater High series. The heroine in this holiday novella, Raven, was kind of portrayed as a crazy-ex/bad girl in Ridgewater High #3, It Was Always You (another terrific book!). In 'My Mistletoe Mix-Up', we get her side of the story and find out that she's upset that she always seems to end up being the 'Rebound Girl'. Wondering if she'll ever be someone's first choice, she runs into her long-time neighbor and crush at a party. Happy to see each other since he moved away 18 months before, they kiss under the mistletoe. She's thrilled that he might have missed her as much as she missed him, until she realizes that it's his mean, identical twin brother, Logan, instead. Logan has always had a thing for Raven so, when he gets the opportunity to kiss her under the mistletoe, he takes it, fully aware that she thinks he's his twin brother. Raven, thinking he's just pulling a prank, is disappointed even though there were definite sparks between them. A sweet romance where a 'supposed' mean boy and a 'supposed' bad girl become each others' first choice.

After the serious (but excellent) nature of book four in the Ridgewater High series, I was thankful to find that My Mistletoe Mix-Up is pure, unadulterated fun. It starts with a case of mistaken identity—Raven thinks Logan is really his twin brother Jace—and the fun continues from there!

It really plays out like a Hallmark movie (if Hallmark made teen movies): mistaken identity and fake relationship turned real are the two prominent tropes in this novella. It's just so fun, even though there are some serious aspects (Logan is a recovering alcoholic).

This book works as a stand-alone novel, but it's book five in the Ridgewater High series, and I do have to say I was a bit confused as to the timeline of everything ... where exactly it fit in with some of the other books (specifically books three and four)—maybe they were all happening concurrently? Anyway, that's not a major issue, and it certainly won't bother anyone who hasn't read the other books. Overall, I really enjoyed this quick Christmas read!

This was a good festive book to read before Christmas. I read it in about 4 hours.

Raven was a popular cheerleader who always seemed to attract guys who just broke up with their girlfriends, to which she got the nickname "Rebound Raven". She reminded me of a mean girl from the way she was described in the previous book. This book, she does tell her best friend that she needs to be nicer.

When twins, Jace and Logan Carmichael, move back, Raven is tricked into kissing Logan under the mistletoe at a party, the whole time thinking it was Jace....until Jace walks in.
The kiss changes everything for Raven and Logan. They begin spending more time together, even volunteering at a community center dressed as elves. Logans costume is way too small. So that was pretty funny to read How the author described that day.

I'm working on the last book in this series. To fully appreciate this series, I recommend reading them in order. There details in every book about the next books main characters.

••¥¥ it could be a possibility of a few spoilers•••¥¥

This book was good. I enjoyed this story. It’s crazy how it is twins in this world that has the exact fact. You cannot tell them apart at all. Raven kept getting the twins Jace and Logan mixed up. But I could say everyone was going for Jace over Logan. I could see why he was insecure and possibly jealous. They may look alike but have different personalities.

When I first started this book, I had to figure out who in the world was ‘Raven’ until I figured out after the fact ••• the girl that was in Lexi and Noah story that had wanted Noah. Glad, she found herself a boyfriend, I can relate to how she feels too in this book.
