Bruce and Elodie's Story . . .

Warlock Bruce MacGregor is in no hurry to marry, despite the rest of his family quickly finding their true love and taking the plunge! But his single status seems to inspire his crazy family to try to find a woman for him. The latest was his Uncle Raibeart’s idea of a joke as he magickally conjured the snake woman in Bruce’s painting to be his latest date. She slithered off the wall where the mural was displayed and now, Bruce is trapped under the bed, watching her restless pacing as she looks for him… and she is quite hungry! He should have painted a sweet fairy who wanted to go watch the demolition derbies with him. That would be much more entertaining!

Elodie Fairweather is very unhappy with her family life. No one seems to care at all about her. She steps out of her car and grains of sand dropped from the sky and hit her arms and cheeks. She jumped back in the car as the sand fell increasingly fast. It felt like being buried alive! Should she stay in the car or run for the shelter of the building in front of her? By the time she decided, she was trapped in the dark car and the sand was spilling from the car’s A/C vents to the floor. The dust made her cough. The sand rose, now starting to cover her legs when suddenly she is pulled out of the car by a woman, Maura MacGregor. As she glanced into the car, the sand was gone! And she was not parked where she had been – she was back at the Hotel Motel that had No Vacancy when she had stopped there to get a room… 3 nights ago! And a snakebite on her leg was still healing. But no one in her life cared and she had no one who would even take her phonecall to reassure her. She had just relaxed on the bed when a man walked past the window, on the phone with his mother and complaining that he didn’t want the dating schedule she had prepared for him, being over 400 years old and able to find his own dates! That must have been an “inside joke”. But she knew how he felt! And suddenly she was tossed through the air. Hearing the thump as she hit a wall, Bruce knocked and walked in to find an unconscious woman on the floor. He put her on the bed and called his mom, a healer, while his magick protected her.

Apparently Elodie has been cursed and Bruce and his quirky family will help figure out what is going on. There is a mystery here and he won’t stop until he solves it. Is she “the One” his heart has been waiting for all these years? Has another stubborn MacGregor found his true love? And can he find who has cursed her and why?

Bruce isn't looking for Mrs Right.
Mrs Right Now has been suiting him just fine. Even though his love-struck family is determined to match him up, he's just not ready.
Elodie is trapped in a life she hates. Getting away to write her book is a freedom that money can't buy.
When a freak "storm" traps her in her car, she rescued and unbelievably confused. She checks into the Hotel/Motel and that's when things get really weird. And sometimes downright scary!
With the MacGregor Clan, "weird" is nothing unusual. Bruce is totally smitten with the lass but he can't seem to keep his magick in control around her or his hands to himself for that matter. (good thing she feels the same way) The more he tries to help, the worse her situation becomes.
Magickal trickery is afoot! Is it revenge? Is it a curse?
They come up with a plan but can they execute it before it executes Elodie is?

Bruce is practically the last McGregor standing. The rest are all happily married. His Mum is trying to marry him off when Elodie drops into his life. Elodie is alone. She has family but they have never been there for her. Both like each other but, they have to unravel a mystery and navigate the McGregor elders first.
This is a funny, steamy, romantic and action filled romance that is a thrill ride from the first page. 5 stars!

This book reads just like a discombobulated roadtrip: fun, at times scary, wondering what in the world will happen next.

It takes only Bruce MacGregor to have such a story, one worthy of his artistic personality. And Elodie is definitely the perfect one to complete him.

This is a fun story even though the curse is enough to give you nightmares. Elodie is struggling to find her place in the world when her world is upended. She finds Bruce at the same time and the struggle with the curse commences. So inventive and original I loved it.

Magical crazy fun and curses

I enjoyed Bruce and Elodie’s romantic suspense story. It was filled with all the emotions, the connections, the insanity, and the love. Bruce is a warlock whose large clan family moved to the small town of Green Vallis several years ago. He is running the local motel with his sister Maura since all family members have to contribute. Bruce is an artist and much to his sister’s annoyance, he keeps painting the rooms with interesting themes and murals. He is also the current project for his interfering matchmaking magickal family. Elodie is a human who is the daughter of rich self-centered parents. She is taking a road trip roughing it to get away. Something goes wrong between the matchmaking and the painting and Elodie gets sucked into the insanity that is the MacGregor clan. There is instant attraction and connection between Bruce and Elodie but as usual with this family, things are complicated. To get to their HEA, they will have to deal with who or what cursed Elodie and try to keep her safe while trying to stop it. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline as shown through mystery, sweet moments, steam, laughs, messy families, painful pasts, surprises, magic, danger, plot twists, fate, and all the meddling love. I love the insanity and strong emotions that characterize the MacGregor family.

MAGICKAL TROUBLE is the eleventh story in  Michelle Pillow's wonderful Warlocks MacGregor series. This book can be read as a standalone. The magnificent storyline keeps you glued to each pages. Always a surprise lurking around the corner. This story shows how love wins out and evil loses. This story keeps you never wanting to put the book down

The MacGregors are a centuries old Scottish clan of warlocks that needed to relocate to America to keep their secrets safe from mortals.  Bruce MacGregor is not happy that his family is determined play matchmaker. But when a beautiful woman bounces into his life, he's determined to find out who she is and help her.

Elodie is on a solo road trip enjoying the sights when suddenly her world is turned upside down and twisted. The only hope she finds is the gorgeous kilted Scotsman meets. But is this Scotsman strong enough to save the stranger he has fallen in love with?  

The MacGregor clan totally made this book (and the series). They are absolutely hilarious with their antics and pranking each other.  I really like these characters and how you portrayed them. I loved this story and the whole series. 

Again Michelle you have outdone yourself. You have covered every angle in this storyline.

I love this audiobook so much! I didn't stop listening to it until I finished! Such a creative way to bring two people who were meant to be together. When Warlock Bruce MacGregor's family decided he needed to be married, they will stop at nothing to make sure he does. But he likes everything just the way it is. He has his art and his books. He's in no rush to find anyone. Spells, pranks, blind dates. Whatever they need to do they try it. Elodie is very unhappy with her life. Her parents are too busy with their own lives and really pay no attention to what she wants. She feels like no one cares about her. She goes off on a trip to do research so she can write a book and all these crazy things keep happening to her. Little does she know that she is cursed. She and Bruce meet and things only get worse. They try to figure out what in the world is going on. So any crazy things happen and such a big mystery has to be solved in order for Elodie and Bruce to find their happiness. I am sure that Elodie would have liked a little less magick with it but it was worth it all to find the love these two discovered. I highly recommend this book! The only thing I would have liked was dual narrators. Other than that it was wonderful!!.

Strange Magic (and Romance!) Afoot!

I'm not quite sure, but I think I've read or listened to every book in this delightful Warlocks MacGregor series. This is Bruce's story, the only unattached MacGregor by this point in the series. I loved getting to see all the quirky family members again, including the matriarchs and comic-relief Uncle Raybert, known to streak about the grounds naked and lead his family on merry misadventures. Some characters' unique backgrounds actually add to the plot of this story. I love it when an author so fully imbues a character with complexity that they can make a difference even when they have a secondary role. This book gave me a similar vibe as The Umbrella Academy (including a prolonged diner scene!). Strange magic is afoot, and it takes quite a while to sort out what exactly it is and how to combat it. The single male narrator does a fantastic job giving unique voices to the characters and mimicking a Scottish accent well. While you certainly don't have to have read or listened to prior books in this series to understand this one, your enjoyment will certainly be enhanced if you have some knowledge of the wacky, long-living MacGregor clan. Highly recommended.

This is one of the most creative stories of this series so far. Elodie is trying to find herself and escape the stifling trappings of her family's wealth. She's tired of acting like the perfect daughter; smiling for photoshoots and attending event after event at her mother's beck and call. But while on the road, trying to work up a good travel story, some very strange things start happening to her.

Bruce MacGregor is trying to escape his family's well meaning but unasked for efforts to set him up on dates, with the goal of marrying him off. He's perfectly happy with his life and has no interest in marrying and tying himself to someone for eternity.

How they meet, and the wildly imaginative things that keep happening to Elodie in spite of, and possibly because of, Bruce's best efforts to help her, plus the 'normal' MacGregor family pranks, along with a good dose of mystery kept me turning pages. If you like fantasy with good characters, love, loyalty, and plenty of shenanigans, you'll enjoy this book and the series! One nice touch in all of the stories is the appearance of previously focused on and recurring characters from this big, happy, loving, crazy family.

Bruce has had enough of his interfering family trying to set him up on blind dates, or in the cae of some of them, using it as an excuse to prank him. But when he finds a woman covered in sand he feels an intense attraction to her. Soon they are having to fend off the wackiest curse to hit the MacGregor family yet.

Elodie could disappear in a puff of smoke for all her wealthy family cares. She loves her low key lifestyle and as she gets to know Bruce she realises that he is also wealthy but acts like a regular guy.

As the curse affecting Elodie takes further hold, the MacGregors start to wonder if it's her fault.
I loved the speech Katherine (Mrs Uncle Raibeart) gave, I could have hugged her.

As usual there is magical mayhem and you have to just disengage your sensible brain and go with the flow. Bruce and Elodie are a great pairing and really balance each other out. Bruce was almost the last single MacGregor so I'm wondering who's next?

Disappointing due to being way too similar to previous book.
I never knew how to say the heroines name, Elodie, so kept getting thrown out trying to pronounce it when reading.
Reading this book straight after Streak of Lightning, I found this one a bit too similar to the previous book.
Curses, evil magic, attacks on an innocent, being snatched and transported to horrible places where nasty things happen.
Just way too many similarities to the previous book.
And once again the same family characters are involved, though we get a bit of action with the siblings at the end.
But where is a detailed explanation about the baddie? WHAT did it want and WHY was that family chosen.
What happened to the fun and silliness that this series started off with.
I expected Raibeart to have tempered his crazy behaviour now he has his love back and the reasons for his insomnia are no more. But he seems even crazier, which is a pity.

Another great addition to the MacGregor warlock clan audible collection. Listening to the stories are some much better. I enjoy hearing the Scottish accents of the MacGregor clan. It makes the story come to life. The antics and playing jokes on each other adds humor as well as family dynamics.
Cousin Bruce finds himself the subject of his family’s matchmaking. He has no desire to find a wife. That is until he finds Elodie caught in a magical trap.
Elodie wants to write about her travels. But instead she is trapped in different worlds. She talks to a guy through a chalk board in one of the worlds. Later, Bruce helps rescue from that scenario. Yet, it keeps happening. Bruce becomes her anchor in these horrible scenarios.
Love the whole MacGregor clan. Enjoyed the rollercoaster ride that Bruce and Elodie traveled to be together.

Elodie finds herself in one trouble after another. Sometimes it didn't feel real except being unlucky. She finds herself stuck in TV and shows for a time and being trappedvin a bubble that no one can see oe hear her. One thing after another happens to her. Bruce is a warlock not looking for love, but he discovers Elodie unconscious in a motel he owns, his life changes and his protectieness kicks in. He recruit his family and to find out why or who has cursed Elodie. When they figured out it a half incubus half human being, his family and him will fight for his love's life and of her family. The MacGregor family is a magickal free loving family that gets into all kinds mischief.
Magickal, adventure, danger, action , humorous, steamy, family,wonderful characters. I loved this story!!.

“Instinct told him he knew her…”

Another amusing, enjoyable entry in the MacGregor series, this time it’s finally Bruce who finds his true love. These books are always fun in a large part because the family is so entertaining. Plus it’s great to get a chance to catch up on how everyone is doing. Bruce was always one of my favorites and I really liked his lady-love Elodie. Of course true love is never without complications and with a MacGregor around we knew magic would be the basis of them. That and a family that can’t help meddling! While it can be read as a standalone, there is a lot that will be missed if read that way not to mention the tons of spoilers for all the other books in the series so I really recommend this not be where a new reader starts. For everyone else, this is a great story.

This is book 11 in Pillow's Warlocks MacGregor. A wonderful addition to this series but can be read / listened to as a standalone. Warlock Bruce MacGregor is starting to feel the marriage pressure as most of his family has succumb to love, marriage and the HEA of life - but he's happy just as he is thankyou very much...until. Elodie hates the life she's stuck in and finding herself trapped after a freak accident - odd and sometimes scary things keep happening that can't be easily explained. I loved this book, I love Bruce's family. The story and characters are just so much fun and the narration was wonderful. I love, love, loved it and I think you will be as spellbound by this read / listen as I was!

Fantastic Read!

Magik. Mayhem. Misunderstandings this storyline has it all and it’s simply brilliant!

I just love the MacGregor Clan series, if you’ve never read any of these books, now is the time to start reading them!

Each storyline is full of fun, cheeky, romantic, sexy characters that you won’t want to put any of the books down.

This time it’s Bruce and Elodie who find their very own HEA with the help and antics of the family. It will make you giggle and sigh, keep you on the edge with the mystery of it all until finally you can smile with the relief once they get their very own HEA.

Highly recommended read!.

A laugh out- loud magical love story.
Bruce meets Elodie at the Hotel motel she is writing about her travels but as she pulls into the hotel parking lot things start to happen that cannot be explained until she ends up at the MacGregor mansion not realizing what is happening with her. Elodie is cursed and it is up to Bruce and the family to help figure out what is happening. When Maura figures out what is happening she tells Elodie, Bruce, Elodie, Maura, and Rory take a road trip. The MacGregors are back in the mix once agam. But the family rally around Bruce and the. woman he has chosen for himself-. Very entertaining, lots of magical. and intrigue. Loved it. This was a great engaging story I devoured. This story is about Warlock Bruce MacGregor and Elodie Fairweather. Getting away from her family Elodie decided to take a solo trip to devote herself to her writing. Elodie is having visions and bad things happening on her trip. She wakes up back to her hotel room and sees a man talking on a phone outside. Bruce is getting set up on dates from his mother and decides no more. While calling his mother Bruce who is outside a hotel, hears a thump and goes to check it out. Bruce finds Elodie unconscious and calls his mother a healer. What occurs is another engaging story that was delightful to read with lovable characters that I volunteer to read and review.

This is another great story in the Macgregor series. They are quite the magikal group of warlocks. With their eccentric ways and constant pranks and odd contests its sure to make you smile! This is Bruce and Elodie's story. Bruce is an imaginative painter who keeps his sister on her toes at their "hotel motel" as it is called. This is where he meets Elodie after she has an accident in her room that knocks her out. He finds himself instantly drawn to her but when odd unexplainable incidents keep happening to her it seems like a curse. Can they find out who is responsible before its too late? Will they ever see their HEA? Check it out to see. You won't be disappointed.

Returning to the MacGregor family is always a blast! This story follows Bruce and let me tell you, it has its moments where its hilarious but also mystery surrounding this mystery woman. Bruce suspects that his family is playing a prank and he is on a mission to figure out who is the trickster. I wouldn't have suspected who it ended up being. If you love a quick magickal read, with steam, and a fun mystery then this one is for you!
The narrator, Michael Ferraiuolo does a great job portraying Bruce and the MacGregor family. Always a blast listening to Michael portray them. I will admit that the villain voice was creepy but it was the voice he needed to have!

This is another fun story about the MacGregor clan of warlocks. It's Bruce's turn to find his person, in the form of Elodie, a young woman who is trying to find herself but instead finds herself under a vicious curse. Bruce and his family are determined to solve the mystery of who has cursed her and why.  Meanwhile, the two of them develop a strong connection. I really enjoyed the humour, romance, action, paranormal elements and mystery that the story has to offer.  I love Bruce's family and the craziness that comes with them.
The audiobook was very enjoyable. The narration by Michael Ferraiuolo was excellent yet again, with his wonderful Scottish accents and characters' voices.

The Last MacGregor Warlock.
Hilariously funny. Poor poor Bruce MacGregor! He is the last bachelor in this fun-loving wacky magickal family of warlocks. So if you’ve read this series you know how quirky these Scots are. If you haven’t read this series, please do as they will make you laugh while shaking your head in exasperation. Bruce is the artist at the Motel Hotel in this wonderful family. He got to be the hero and save the damsel in distress, Elodie Fairweather. What a twist! I for sure thought I knew who the culprit was - but I was wrong. I hope this isn’t the last we read of this family.

The McGregor clan is at it again...pulling pranks and having fun until it's time to get serious, then they stand together. This is Elody and Bruce's story's and what a wonderful story it is! It's filled with wonderfully quirky characters, suspense, action, romance with some steamy bits and of course magick. I love this delightful family and am so happy everyone is getting they're HEA but sad because I don't want it to end. The narrator Michael Ferraiuolo brings the story to life as plays out the story and its characters and does justice to this fantastic story!!

Magickal Trouble is the 11th book in the series Warlocks MacGregor. Warlock Bruce MacGregor doesn’t like change. he likes his freedom, his books, his art, and he doesn’t want anything else to change. But now his family is obsessed with marriage and starting a family. Now that he is one of the only single men in the family, everyone thinks it’s about time he settled down to. Will he find somebody? This book has to be my favorite of this series. It’s very different than the rest and you really won’t know what is going on until the characters do. Michelle M Pillow is running out of men to hook up in this series and I will be sorry to see it end. This book has Bruce being spelled by too many of his relatives who are trying to set him up and the spells get crossed leading to problems for his mate Elodie. It all ends up a bit like a Salvador Dali painting of a book where no one is quite sure what is going on.

What a fast paced magical story where so much is not what it seems. Familiarity with the MacGregors and their magick antics really helped as so many strange thing# happened with Elodie. It was interesting making sense of many of the very strange situations faced by Bruce and Elodie. The playful nature of Bruce and their famil6 had many smile worthy pranks take place or be recalled. I also liked the very creative situations that arose including how things were resolved in the end.
