A short story (86 pages)
And, finally, a good one, again.
Although it is short, it's a well done and well-structured story.
I admit, I was afraid.
The previous ones, were quite awful.
Elle and Curtis applied to the college auction.
Curtis is bi-curious, so he's going to try something different, and apply to the auction as a virgin.
I can't wait for his story with Jared in "Hammer Price - Merriweather Auctioneers"
This one is about Elle and Harrison.
They've been in love for six years.
Harrison was her brother's best friend, and they meet when Elle has seventeen and Harrison had twenty-four.
Her brother didn't accept the attraction between them, so Harrison had to leave.
They never met again, but they never forget each other.
Of course, Harrison had to be in the auction.
This is a sweet and sexy story.

What a fun and spicy novella!

Elle is about to graduate with a mountain of student loans. In order to start her career free of debt, she decides to participate in a “One Night Only” auction and networking event. What is being auctioned you might ask.. Elle.

One night, no holds barred… and then she will be able to start her life. At least that is what she thinks will happen.

Harrison just made his first million and his boss cons him into going to the college auction. To maybe let off some steam and spend some of that new money on a struggling college student. Imagine Harrison’s surprise when his ex-best friend’s sister is standing on the stage. All he can think of is he must be the winning bid.

This was a short, sweet, and steamy novella of second-chances and steam. These two characters were fun and the story kept me engaged from start to finish. I have enjoyed all the books by Margot Swan and this didn’t disappoint.

If you are looking for a short steamy read with some romance, this book is for you! Happy reading!

Elle is a college student who auctions herself off for one night only to pay her college debt. In this auction, she is auctioned off to her elder brother’s best friend who she hasn’t seen in awhile, Harrison, and spends the night with him. What happens next is up to them but it won’t be easy with life doing its thing.

I give it 3/5 stars. It was a quick read (with both main character’s POVs) that would only take a couple of hours to finish but it made me squeal a lot and root for the characters! Elle’s sharp words and confidence versus Harrison’s nervousness due to his huge crush on her made my heart beat and made me squeal whenever they interacted, especially when they first met. I felt that how Elle got into the auction was a bit fast and the first chapters or so held a lot of explanation that could’ve been spread out so that the reader wouldn’t have all the answers immediately.

Overall though, it was a pretty nice read and perfect for a road trip or a late night quick read (especially on your Kindle or Apple Books)!

The last thing she expected, however, was to be bid on by Harrison, her brother’s ex best friend. The sparks between Harrison and Elle are strong, but can their fragile relationship survive beyond one night?

Okay, so this was a really good idea, and a really cute novella! Elle and Harrison’s relationship was adorable, and I loved watching it all play out. It was fun watching their reunion, and the way they reacted to each other even after all the years they spent apart. Elle was beautiful and smart, and Harrison was protective and assertive. Their personalities complimented each other wonderfully. All in all, I would recommend this to someone who is looking for a short and steamy read!

This was a great short story of two people reconnecting.
I loved the way the auction side of the story was set up, it could have easily been a little seedy but it felt very organised and professional.
Elle and Harrison met several years ago when he followed her brother home from college for the summer, but it wasn't their time. Now they meet again when Harrison bids on her during the auction.
Elle definitely takes the lead between these two and that is very refreshing as typically it's the guy calling the shots.
You can feel the attraction between these two, but they are also still getting to know each other.
This is a great short, fast paced, steamy read.

Elle is a college student with a bunch of student loans. An auction to bid on someone for a night is the best solution for this problem 😉 She and her best friend Curtis are going up to be auctioned off for one night. Harrison is dragged to this auction but not by choice.... That changes when he sees his old crush and best friends little sister on stage. Nothing and no one can now stop him from finally getting his One 🥰🥰🥰 kind of second chance at love, sweet, steamy hot 🥵, romantic and safe with a sweet HEA😍😍😍😍 I really hope we get Curtis story🙏🙏

Five shiny gold stars for this fabulously steamy novel from Margot Swan. I will literally read anything that she writes because it's always amazing and a nice break from the seriously dark stuff I usually read.
This is a brother's best friend short story with plenty of steam. The book revolves around an auction which finally brings to a head the feelings these characters have had for each other for years. It allows them to succumb to the chemistry between them, and boy, when they do! But will it be just for one night? Guess you had better read it to find out.

Elle is a student with lots of loans in the bank. She auctions herself off to gather the money and pay her college debt. Fate is on her side, and she is auctioned to her brother’s best friend, who she had a crush on when she was a teen. It’s been years since she last saw him, and once they are alone in the hotel room, things become interesting.

Closing bid is a novella part of ‘The Auction Series.’ It’s cute, sweet, and steamy. Elle and Harrison were fun and relatable. The story is fast-paced and keeps you turning the pages. The steam between them is explosive, and their encounter is as sweet as it can be.

Curtis and Josh are the secondary characters, and they added a lot to the fun. I do hope the author gift us their story in the future, since their encounter raised all the curiosity about their HEA.

This novella was an amazing quick read, and you can do it at any place and with little time. It’ll suck you in, and when you realise you’re done reading, and with the “I want more” feeling.
