Ymir now has six beautiful wives, seven Akkiric Rings, and only a year left before he graduates from Old Ironbound—if war doesn’t kill them all first. The demon king from the southern continent has come to conquer Thera, but there's a new winged warrior at the school who might have the secret to stopping him. And that secret includes forging the last magical ring. Delving into forbidden texts, dabbling in alchemical necromancy, and uncovering the obscure history of an ancient deathless emperor, Ymir and his wives have never been closer to understanding the true nature of the Lonely Man’s curse. To finish his journey, the barbarian cursed by magic will need more potions, more wives, and one final, delicious encounter the whole harem has been waiting for. One thing is for sure—demons or not, Ymir won’t stop until he has conquered the world. Barbarian Conqueror is a steamy slice-of-life harem adventure in a magic university on another world. The sex scenes are explicit but don’t get in the way of the story as it slowly unfolds. Enter a dark fantasy world from the mind of Aaron Crash, the bestselling author of the American Dragon series.
It is Ymir's and his harem's final year at Ironbound and they are intent on forging the 8th ring of Aegel Akkridor but would this be a ring too many? Ymir had a harem of 6 wives, 7 akkiric rings and a year left to graduate in. In order to finish his journey he would need more potions, more wives and one final encounter the whole harem has been waiting for and demons or not Ymir won't stop until he has conquered the world. The sleeper's ring or as Ymir was calling it the ring of the awakened was what he needed to become King and grant immortality to himself and his women. He was the barbarian with a dusza who had won his war against the merfolk, saved the blood steppes from Gulnash the betrayer and even slayed a dragon. People talked about him and great things were expected from him and in this book which brings us to the end of Ymir's journey he does not disappoint. I love his new wife Koori and the fact that he had a harem of such a diversity of women who all got along so well together and who he loved equally and without prejudice. This book is jam packed with action, hot sex scenes and so much love as well as demons, ratwings, demon spiders and hell knights who come to invade ironbound and his wives realms. I also love that Aaron Crash left so much potential for further books about Ymir and his harem even after giving us such a brilliant ending.
okay, normally crash just makes me mad 🤣🤣 but this book was a home run…. I do wish though we got some perspective from professor Leel since she hated Ymir so much. I really wanted to see how she viewed him now. Also, I love how everything was tied together at the end… I swear I could read more of Ymir and his exploits. I know he stepped away from his life in the tundras but I truly wished he talked to people back home and I wished they explained how his wives got the seesee and naynay… I mean I wanted his old friends and family to know of his accomplishments, I’m sure they might have gotten word back on the tundra but I wanted them to SEE his power and realise how stupid they were. I’m so happy that some people got what they deserved, nellybelle, arrie, odd and daris…. Maaaaan I was cheering….. poor professor Lilly 😂 I mean what a sicko. I hope crash writes more good stories like this… I love this one… dare I say more so than the American dragons!
This last book was 25% longer than the previous, and it was pretty good. I enjoyed the climax, but the wrap-up felt pretty long for better or worse. Overall, I liked this series. Unfortunately it does limit itself to spending 95% of its length lingering at the starting location, stifling a lot of its potential for adventure, and leaving all its world-building mostly underutilized. While I like Ymir, for a “barbarian” it did feel like he spent a bit too much time trying to sell chocolate and cosplay “Conan the Librarian” (is the author a UHF fan?). There is a lot of sex, which I normally don’t mind, but when a larger portion of it is sans MC, it feels less necessary to the story. Also, for a series so focused on details, especially language (there are at least 5 terms for vagina and harem), I found it bizarre that it stuck with the Gregorian calendar months and English names for the 7-day week. Anyway, I’ll most likely try another of this author’s series at some point.
I've enjoyed this entire series, and this book closes it out well. Think: Conan the Barbarian with magic and a harem, and you have these books. While Robert E. Howard was no shrinking violet about his writing, the sex was assumed, not expounded on.
There is a lot of sex in this, but by and large it serves the plot, not the other way around. The MC is one of the better ones I've seen in recent years, again, reminiscent of a give-no-fucks Conan. There are no glaring weaknesses in these books, but a solid MC coupled with complex, capable female characters covers a lot of ground by itself.
If you've read the previous books, this one will not disappoint. If you haven't (and you can see the appeal in Conan-goes-to-Hogwarts-and-gets-laid-a-bunch) you should give book 1 a try.
Ymir and his harem ride a crescendo to a fantastic conclusion. It all comes together as history is revealed and questions answered. This book is a worthy ending to a great series. It's Ymir's last year at Ironbound. What will he do after he graduates? A lot will happen first, as magic, battle, and love ensue. I like the action, humor, intrigue, and love. As the book ends, potential for more adventure is revealed.
When I picked up the first book of the series, I believed that it was a new and separate series. As I continued reading and realized that it had ties to a series I thoroughly enjoyed, I couldn't wait to keep reading it. Now it comes to an end and I'm going to miss it
The weakest of the series (that I otherwise adore).
Excessive use of time skipping visions stole the characters’ autonomy and made the story drag. I ended up skipping to the last third of the book because I was invested in the series’ ending but tired of how this particular book handled the mystery.
A really great ending to the series. The action ramps up and the story concludes in battle and fire as one has come to expect from the magical barbarian. And the final orgiastic magic was very satisfying. The series was up and down in quality, but if you like this kind of story, this is very well done.
A wonderfully crafted ending that brings all of Crashes books together whilst giving this part at least the ending it needed. Even more full of action and harem adventures that those before but equally as worth reading.
Things have developed in this series to this point. The action was well written. I loved that there was a lot of resolution for the characters at the end of the book
