King George the Third was a big part of American history. He was the one who lead the British Red Coats against our American Rebels. King George became King of England at a young age (22). He fell in love with a girl named Lady Sarah Lennox. He did not marry Sarah because she was in a different type of government and the marriage would not have worked. George had an embassader named Bute and he helped George with his hard decisions. Bute helped end a war and saved England a lot of money and recourses. After that Bute retired because he thought that he had done his job. During the war against the United states, King George made some very bad decisions. One of them was that he could have ended the war by giving the American peoples their rights and they would stay under british control. But King George just wanted power and kept the war going, The Americans defeated him shortly after. King George died of old age, He also had many blood problums and when his daughter died a broken heart sealed his death.

I think that King George did many good things in his lifetime. I feel like with out him America would not be where it is today. I felt that king George made a good decision when he united with Bute. Bute helped george do many things including end the seven years war. There is just one thing that I am wondering. Why didn't King George go to America to see how beautiful it is, because that would have made his life so much more special.

I read this because it's in our elementary school book room thanks to a grant and Scholastic. I gave it to my 5th graders to read, knowing full well that it was too high for them. They wanted to read it. We started it together, and immediately the ideas and words were too high for them. So I decided to read ahead of them and finish it. I had a heck of a time. I was so bored. It's very dry, and there are no details to make it come alive. I liked the graphics of the timeline, pictures, relationship web, etc. I also liked the framed, short text pieces. The vocabulary in the regular text was so complex that even I struggled with it. So boring!!!! The Revolution shouldn't be boring!!

I asked the kids if they would like to abandon the book and used it as a lesson for that purpose. They wanted to start what they finished, but they knew that they wouldn't enjoy it, so they agreed to read the framed pages and look at the graphics. They kind of liked that part. This felt more like a textbook than a book to read to enjoy it.

This book as about King George III,He became king right after his father and Grandfather had died he was hated by America and not respected by some of his kingdoms people and called Farmer George for his love in country life, this books tell you all about how he lived his life as a prince and as a king.My opinion on this book is a 5 out of 5 stars because it does give much information about his life as a king and before he became a king.

I would recommenced this book to one of my close friends since they like to read non-fiction and learn new things they also told me they would like to check out this book,I would also recommend it to my little siblings so they can learn for the future when they go to third grade and for future purposes.

The Wicked History series aims to give background and context to a person from history who did some wicked things-- and in the case of King George III, it was about his refusal to let go of the American colonies that were staking their claim for independence.

I didn't know as much about him as I thought so it was enlightening and informative. It gave a full picture of his life including his relationship with his father and grandfather but then also his wife and the thirteen (who survived) of his fifteen children, political connections, and his rule overall.

I really enjoyed this book. It was written in a way that many students could understand, it invoked my interest. I like the graphic organizers, improved the quality. I learned a lot and confirmed a lot. The perspective in which it was written was consistent until the author’s note. I very much believed that he writer was trying to explain misconceptions, as a fan of George III. Good addition to the classroom; love that it is part of a series!

I think the book was very good. I think it was good because of how well it explained everything. I would give this book at 4 out of 5 stars. The main person in the story is King Gorge. The story takes place in Great Britten. The problem is that the Americans want to break free of King Gorge but He doesn't want that to happen. I would suggest this book to anyone who likes action. Make sure you check out this book at your local Library.

This is a very informative book without it being tedious. Great edition to any 6th grade classroom. It's also a quick, easy read for an adult who wants to learn more about King George III and the American Revolution without having to read a 300 page book.

I liked the format of the book and the inclusion of time-lines, maps, and web of allies and opponents as well as the side notes in some of the chapters.

A Wicked History series provides a quick yet nice overview of the featured leader, in this case King George III; whose story is so much more than ruler who overtaxed his colonial subjects across the Atlantic Ocean. These books are perfect for any middle/high school classroom or library and are guaranteed to make history exciting for students.

King George 111, was he a bully? If you were wondering, maybe I can help a little. King George 111 was only in his early 20´s when he was selected as King. His father passed away when he was only 12 years old leaving hime his mother & his 8 siblings. Surprising King George 111 grandfather was some what happy with this new news quote saying ¨I lost my eldest son.But I am glad of it¨. So growing up was hard for George because of his father passing. As George grew throught out the years & became king of course people didnt agree with everything he made as decisions. Most people didnt like his ways just because he tried to fight for what was right to him & his fellow country.

King George III: America's Enemy is an exciting and informational novel written by Phillips Brooks. This book takes place in America, and Great Britain during the 1700s and the 1800s. It starts out talking about King George's childhood, then about how he grew and had a family. During his life, he had a disease that made him do unusual decisions. Later the book starts explaining his accomplishments and failures, throughout his life. At one point king, George decided to raise taxes and put taxes on things like tea, stamps, and papers, which led to the Boston Tea Party. Another failure was losing the thirteen colonies, this made a lot of his family and subjects disappointed. Then, King George could not stand so he kept on fighting until the Treaty of Paris in 1783. Then he was still going mad with his disease and so he died angry and disappointed of his work during his reign. Thus, King George III did some good decisions but also a lot of bad decisions during his period as King.

In this novel, I've learned five facts, also, why the author wrote this book and which parts of the book are most interesting. The first fact is he was born on June 4th, 1738 in Great Britain. Second he died because of a disease called porphyria, January 29th, 1820 in Great Britain. The third fact is he was king during the American Revolution. The fourth fact is he was the King during the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. The final fact is he had fifteen children with his wife. Also, the author wrote this book because he wanted the reader to understand the history of America and partly the history England. Additionally, the most interesting parts of this book are when he deals with difficult decisions and the reader is able to imagine his reaction. In conclusion, the reader can learn a lot about history and the author.

In this book, there are exciting moments and disappointing moments. An exciting moment is when he is ready to become king at such a young age. A disappointing moment is when he dies, because even though he was not the best king, now one of his sons will have to take over. Additionally, I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in history and more specifically sixth graders, seventh graders or even eighth graders. I would recommend it to sixth and seventh graders because it is more like their level of reading. Also, eighth graders because it's maybe not up to their level of reading but could be up to their knowledge in history. In the end, this book has exciting and disappointing moments, also, this book could be recommended to a lot of people.

This small book has a higher reading level than you might expect. It covers King George but also is a pretty good summary of the Revolutionary War. It's an opportunity to learn about a favorite Hamilton character - though he's portrayed here more as angry than perplexed.

I thought this book was really fun!
It told a lot of about George's life, and tried to uncover his reasons for acting the way he did,
instead of just typecasting him as a jerk essentially.

Yes, I know it says BULLY on the front cover!

It's a good reminder that people are more than we see and more than we hear.
I learned a lot in this book and think any child studying and learning about the American Revolution would really enjoy it!

And any parent who wants to be reminded of their history :)

King George wanted to be the king because he wanted peace for Britain and he wanted to change the nation to a better place, but there was King George ii who was already king who was the grandfather of king George III. So King George II died. Then King George became the new king.

This book is amazing read it to find information about King George III and how he made peace to Britain. The theme for this book is peace, power.

I have already done an extensive report on George the third so I believed myself to be at least knowledgeable about "Farmer George". I was pleased to discover, upon opening this book, that I knew a decent amount about George III, but I was pleased greater still when I discovered a veritable cornucopia of knowledge that I had never even come across.

This book is very informative! I always looked a king George the third as selfish and unkind but now I see he was not always this way. He turned that way eventually but he had a sketchy past so some of it can be excused i suppose. If anyone wants to learn about American history and have their opinion of the king changed read this book!
