Beck Landusky was five years old when he lost his parents in a car accident leaving him without family. Thrown into the foster system, he bounced around until he was twelve when he was placed with Ellie, a used bookstore owner in the small town of Drummond. Life in Drummond was slow, quiet, and sometimes boring. Certainly nothing extraordinary. Until one cold winter morning when a tall, dark, and handsome man arrived in town and changed everything.

Shawn Montgomery knew the moment he held newborn Beck in his arms that they were fated mates. When Beck and his parents suddenly disappeared one night, he was devastated. As soon as he turned eighteen, Shawn began searching for his lost mate until fourteen years later, mere weeks before his ascension to Pack Alpha of Silver Springs, Shawn got word that his mate had been found.

With his ascension looming near and the appearance of a rival pack in Drummond, Shawn must find a way to tell Beck they are fated mates and claim him. There’s just one problem – Beck has no idea who or what he is.

Sweet Alphaness

Sometimes alphas are written to be this awful walking conglomeration of red flags luckily Shawn is not that in this book. He is still dominant and used to getting his way but he is willing to listen and take others suggestions. Beck is a rather typical omega character. He is sweet and docile but also can get a bit sassy. They are incredibly cute together. The thing I disliked most about this book though is the fact that Shawn knew from the time Beck was a baby that he was to be his mate. They are 11 years apart which is no biggie, and while I think the author did a great job of trying to explain their relationship as children as not grooming but it was a bit weird. Still overall a short and sweet shifter novel

There was a time in my life when I read copious amounts of shifter romance. Perhaps that's why a shifter romance is such a comfort read to me. In recent years I have had a hard time finding shifter romances I am interested in reading and I have no idea how I found this book but I really liked the blurb for it, enough to jump the gun and start reading the book.

While it took me a bit to get into the book, I was soon hooked. This was such an easy and quick read for me, I didn't want to put it down at all once things started happening.

I really liked Beck and Shawn and I especially loved them together. The author had me rooting for these two from the very beginning. They fit each other so well. I wanted Shawn and Beck together on every page of this book because they were so goddamn adorable when they were together. It was the epitome of cosy, warm and snuggly.

The plot of this book is rather intense and I could have done with a milder plot that allowed me to revel even more in Beck and Shawn's mating. Despite that, the high-octane plot is actually blended in seamlessly with the romance and the book at no point lost my attention.

I am very curious about Max, Nick and Jett's situation and would love more insight into whatever the hell is happening between those three. But for the most part, I enjoyed this book A LOT. I'm a sucker for shifter romances and the fated mates trope so this book was an extra delightful meal for me. I can't wait to dig into the sequel.

Strongly recommend!

I really enjoyed this novel about Beck and Shawn’s journey! The first sentence grabs you, and you’re not released until the very end. The twists and turns as Shawn finds Beck and has to explain Beck’s true nature, but then a rival alpha gets involved leads to a gripping tale, even though you know there’s a HEA coming. This story is a great way to escape the real world for a few hours!

3.5 stars. After the intensity and length of my last book, I wanted a nice, easy, entertaining read. This was exactly that. Nothing stood out as either really good or really bad. It was a nice shifter story. I was able to stay engaged. It didn't ask a lot of me, which is what I wanted. The reading was mostly smooth. The characters somewhat developed with adequate world building. This would make a great vacation read if shifters are your thing.

Becks Wolf by May Doherty

Five stars for such an awesome story with enough suspense and romance between Beck and Shawn which will at times have you on the edge with all of the dangers and secrecy involving Becks pass. I recommend this book by May Doherty.

Promising pack story

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed the characters and felt invested in what happens to them. The plot is a little all over the place, which is why I gave it four stars.
