Nova is a free spirit. Life is an adventure and she yearns to see new places and meet new people.
The only thing missing in her life is love. She wants to share her experiences with someone.
Torin may look like the bad boy he once was, but now he’s a successful chef and restauranteur. His life is organized and he likes things a certain way—his way.
Cue Mystical Matchmakers, where all immortals are welcome.
When Torin is matched with Nova, their first date is a disaster. He’s sure she’s a flake and she is certain that he’s uptight and close-minded. They’re opposite in every way and neither of them believes they’ll see each other again.
But fate throws them together when Torin’s manager hires Nova to work in his restaurant while he’s out of town. As they spend more time together, they both begin to wonder if they’re a perfect match after all.
Mystical Matchmakers…find the paranormal romance you’ve been searching for.
Born and raised in Texas, C.C. Wood writes saucy paranormal and contemporary romances featuring strong, sassy women and the men that love them. If you ever meet C.C. in person, keep in mind that many of her characters are based on people she knows, so anything you say or do is likely to end up in a book one day.
A self-professed hermit, C.C. loves to stay home, where she reads, writes, cooks, and watches TV. She can usually be found drinking coffee or wine as she spends time with her hubby, daughter, and two beagles.
I absolutely adore this fun loving series. Suddenly my Selkie is Torin the restaurant owner that was first mentioned in Rock and Troll and Nova who is A will o' the wisp. This pair is a great match with his stick up his butt and her flighty ways. They compliment each other so well. With each book CC writes I get more excited for the next one.

What a fun story! Great read and characters, Torin is my kind of alpha (that isn't really saying much for me or alpha's, so sorry..) and Nova is a phenom! Love love love this series!
Suddenly my Selkie is such a fun read. You'll be giggling in no time when it comes to Nova and Torin. This just goes to prove that first impressions are worth a second look. I love the banter in this one. Nova is a straight shooter with the love of adventure, comes off flakey and does not like to be in one place for a long period of time. Torin is workaholic, a little bit of an alpha and a little uptight They are both more than what they seem as you get to know them. I love the fact that this is more of a second look between Nova and Torin as Nova starts working for Torin. They have a lot in common and the chemistry is a slow build that will put a smile on your face. You are going to love Torin and Nova. They have to be my favorite couple yet in the Mystical Matchmakers series. I cannot wait for more to come in the Mystical Matchmakers series.
When Nova meets Torin during a matchmaking date they both agree that they are not compatible. When Nova accepts a job at a restaurant she doesn't know that it is owned by Torin. We are taken on a interesting ride as Torin discovers that Nova isn't a flake and Nove discovers that Torin can be a grumpy but there is softer side to him hidden. The chemistry between the two becomes hot and they both have to learn to compromise.

This is my favorite book of the series. I love everything about it from the characters and the bad first date to the HEA. The banter and chemistry between these two is fantastic. This book is a fun, fast paced, steamy romantic comedy. I had fun reading it. Truly delightful. Torin can cook for me any time.
This is a well written book with strong characters in Torin and Nova. The author does a great job painting her scenes as she takes these two on a fun roller coaster ride filled with tons of humor, twists and turns and delivers a terrific romance. Loved reading their story.

I loved Torin and Nova. They had a rough meeting and we’re convinced they hated each other until fate had something to say about it. I love that there was no 3rd scene break up. I’m so excited for Veronica and Jaspers story next!.

This is such a fun and comical book. I instantly fell in love with Torin & Nova in how C.C was able to develop their relationship. I can’t tell you how many times I have laughed while reading the banter between Torin & Nova and experiencing the great chemistry they have. Such another well written story that I can’t get enough of! As each book is released, I get more excited for the next one in this series.

Torin and Nova signed up with the Mystical Matchmakers for a date. The first date he thought that Nova was a flake and she thought he was an uptight person. He left town for a couple of weeks and Addie his manager hired Nova as hostess for his restaurant, when he got back. Addie told him that if he fired Nova she quit but he kept her and fell in love, she continued to keep him on his toes. Good book!.

Suddenly My Selkie is a delicious, delightful, read. The back and forth between the main characters Nova and Torin will have you laughing along with them. They meet up on a disastrous first date, that neither one of them wishes to repeat. Sometimes first impressions are pre-conceived ideas not based in reality. Fate (and a delightful restaurant manager) throw these two back together for an up and down journey on the rollercoaster of love. Not only are you drawn into the wonderful story of the rocky road to love, but the food descriptions will make you just as hungry. You will enjoy all of the twists and turns this book takes, on the road to a HEA. Definitely, A 5-star journey.
Congratulations C.C!!! What an awesome story!!!!! I'm looking forward to the next because I know it will be equally fantastic. The way you bring the characters to life and weave the story around them never ceases to amaze me❤❤❤❤
This was Torin & Nova’s story. When Torin is matched with Nova, their first date is a disaster. He’s sure she’s a flake and she is certain that he’s uptight and close-minded. This was a fun and entertaining read. Nova and Torin are complete opposites but yet they fit together. These two had great chemistry and I loved their witty banter. This was a great read and I definitely want to check out more of this series.

Torin and Nova go on a date negotiated through Mystical Matchmakers, but it didn’t go well. They were just too different from each other. When Torin goes on vacation, his manager hires Nova as the hostess for his restaurant. This is where they begin to see that they have more in common than they had realized. Was it time to give each other a second look? Could they perhaps have judged each other too quickly?
A match made in the water? I loved this story. It had a perfect mixture of humor and love. I really enjoy reading romances where they are opposites and can get under each other’s skin. The whole I hated you when I first met you does it for me. Torin and Nova are perfection!! I liked how people had a preconceived notion and how that causes problems because we really don’t know a person until we make it a point to open up.
I originally gave this two stars but I ended up taking one off because I was so disappointed in the lack of anything paranormal, it could have just been a romance between any two people.
I read this because I'm a big fan of stories about selkies (and mermaids and any other water-based races). Unfortunately the only selkie thing about the story was that the mmc was a selkie. That's it. Nothing at all about his being a selkie. He even went swimming once and nothing was said about it. Seriously, you put a selkie in the water and the only comment is that he's a good swimmer?! I spent several minutes trying to figure out whether he turned into a selkie or stayed human. I eventually decided that he stayed human, I guess because he didn't have his pelt with him?
We did get a little more about the fmc's being a will-o'-the-wisp, including a really good scene where she faces down a bad guy.
Overall it was really just an enemies to lovers story. It was like the author made them a selkie and a will-o'-the-wisp and then didn't know what to do with them so she just ignored that aspect of them.
I love this book. Torin and Nova are so good together but all the characters in this book are great. Torin and Nova meet on a date set up by Mystical Matchmakers. But on their date Nova realizes Torin is an uptight ass and she wants nothing to do with him. Torin thinks Nova is flighty and can't do anything right. After this date from hell Torin goes on a vacation and leaves his restaurant in the capable hands of his manager Addie. While he is gone Addie hires Nova to be the hostess at his restaurant. When Torin finds out he gives her one night to prove herself and boy does she. Torin sees that Nova is a hard worker, will jump in and help wherever needed and starts to wonder why didn't he try to get to know her better before. This is such a well written story, the characters are so fleshed out and they are real. Nova and Torin both have issues they need to overcome but work at overcoming them. I absolutely loved this story it is a great romance. Beautiful read!

I love the idea of Mystical Matchmakers. Just because you're magical, doesn't mean you don't need help to find love! I learned about mythical creatures that I didn't know anything about- a selkie? Will o'wisp (I only knew that phrase from the Sound of Music song)? I thought that was cool and I absolutely need a Seal Man in my life.
You don't like paranormal romance, you say? Read this anyway. It's not ridiculous paranormal. One aspect I enjoyed is that paranormal creatures are just everyday normal folks. It's seems like no one even really notices that there is something different about them. And all the paranormal creatures coexist..it's not like there is a big paranormal bias issue. This story would have been the same if Torin and Nova had been human- but then I would not have learned about selkies and will o'wisps.
This series still going strong with the theme of building strong, lasting love by examining and overcoming one's biases and fears. This particular installment almost had a 'Pride & Prejudice'-y feel to it, what with the H needing to get over his tendency to be judgy and inflexible, and the heroine having to reckon with how to reconcile wanderlust & need for freedom with her love. The end result was an entertaining romp, and I could read a whole other book full of Torin and Nova's adventures.
As a little bonus, I particularly enjoyed the glimpse of Nova's magic. Perfect way to handle that tiny subplot. Nova is a badass.
If I could give this a half star I would give this a 3.5 stars.
The storyline was cute and entertaining. Very much of an opposites attract romance, but it's also a grumpy hero and sunshine herione type of story.
This has a few twists and turns that are fun and compelling.
What I didn't like was that this story is only 170 pages long. As a prolific reader, someone who loves to read a well thought good story, it's frustrating to know that authors consider a 170 pages a full length story.
Nonetheless, this a cute story worth reading!! So enjoy! 😊
The idea was there but the execution was poor, and the constant spelling and grammar mistakes was infuriating, I don't normally pick at stuff like that if it's just one or two ( we all make mistakes) but this was constant which made it hard to read as parts didn't make any sense, I even went back multiple times because I thought i had skipped over parts, because something would be mentioned such as a movie, as if it had been said before but when I looked back through the book it had never been mentioned, very confusing 🤔.As I said, the story could have been good if the execution had been better.
I'd never read a paranormal about a selkie, so I was intrigued by this title. There is a company called Mystical Matchmakers which matches those with paranormal abilities. Nova, a will-o-the-wisp (a classification which I was kind of unclear about) is matched with Torin, a selkie. I loved the idea of a matchmaking agency for paranormals, but mostly this was just a spicy enemies to lovers romance, with a few references to otherworldly abilities.
Not a book for me. A lot going on in this that is never explained. Why these two fall in love and want to be together is also not explained. There’s a whole lot of telling, not showing, and even more this is how it is without any reasons why. Giving the traits of each magic up front might have helped. I felt lost the whole time and never really feel any chemistry or romance between the characters.
An entertaining read. This is the third book in this series Mystical Matchmakers. This story is about Nova and Torin. They are complete opposites, yet they complete each other. The story will hold your attention all the way through. The characters fit well together and have great chemistry. I enjoyed this book.
This series has become one of my favorites! I love this fantasy of the supernatural matchmaking services. This book did not disappoint. A fun-loving will o' the wisp meets a perfectionist selkie and sparks fly. Their story made me smile. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
When two stubborn people like the mischievous Nova and the uptight Torin first meet, it’s not necessarily comfortable, but very entertaining. Enjoy their intriguing story, the real challenges, their friends and family as steamy love grows between them!!!
