"An excellent action thriller, perfect for fans of Jack Reacher and Ben Hope . . . A great series." --Off the Shelf Book Reviews
"Fast paced and gripping . . . highly tense." --Sarah Hardy, By the Letter Book Reviews
Rob is the author of the critically acclaimed and bestselling Enemy series and James Ryker series of espionage thrillers. His books have sold over half a million copies to date with many reviewers and readers having likened Rob's work to authors at the very top of the genre, including Lee Child and Vince Flynn. Rob began writing in 2009 following a promise to his wife, an avid reader, that he could pen a ‘can’t put down’ thriller. He worked for nearly 13 years for a global accounting firm after graduating from The University of Nottingham in 2002, specialising in forensic fraud investigations at both national and international levels. Rob now writes full time.
Originally from the North East of England, Rob has lived and worked in a number of fast paced cities and is now based near Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife, sons and dog
First and foremost, a large thank you to NetGalley, Rob SInclair, and Clink Street for providing me with a copy of this book, which allows me to provide you with this review.
In this captivating finale to the Enemy trilogy, Sinclair pulls out all the stops as he offers up Carl Logan at his best. While Logan was once the gem in the JIA (Joint Intelligence Agency), he has become a pariah and persona non grata over time, leaving him with little support and even less protection. On the lam in Russia, Logan is fleeing former friends and foes alike, all of whom consider him a traitor after a number of JIA agents and high-ranking officials have been murdered. Framed for these murders, he turns to the only person he feels can help him, Angela Grainger, with whom he has a mixed passed. While they remain under the radar, Logan and Grainger are forced to reach out to certain people to move out of Russia and towards safety. Meanwhile, the new head of the JIA is trying to piece together what has happened while his predecessor was at the helm and what secrets remain. With the CIA still trying to pull the strings, he must communicate with Logan and ascertain if this rogue agent is truly as problematic as he seems on paper. While Logan dodges traps and pitfalls, there is something that is not entirely clear; who is framing him for murder and why? Sinclair treats readers to a lightning-paced novel in which twists dominate throughout.
This trilogy fits so nicely together and offers up a wonderful addition to the thriller genre. As I commented in a past review, there is so much more to Carl Logan than is offered up, but Sinclair has given the reader a glimpse into the life of this agent and some of the turmoil that surrounds his employ with the JIA. By using a few flashback stories, Sinclair ties Logan's previous missions to this finale and ensures the reader gets a better sense of the man and his dedication to the outfit, even if members of the JIA, CIA, and Russia's SVR have him on their kill lists. Logan is able to foster a relationship with Angela Grainger, who was central to his being vilified, and uses that trust to move indiscriminately through Russia and beyond. While there is so much more that Sinclair could have done with Logan, perhaps there are other projects on which he wishes to work, keeping Logan an ever-elusive character whose return is a possibility. For now, readers must rely on this well-crafted piece of work that keeps the pace quick and the plot filled with action.
Kudos, Mr. Sinclair for this wonderful trilogy. It kept my attention from the start and I look forward to seeing what else you have in your quiver.
The third book in the Enemy series by Rob Sinclair is another fast paced adventure for Carl Logan. Carl became one of my favourite (guilty pleasure) literary heroes in the first book of this series and this third instalment confirms that he deserves to be there. I loved the flashes back to Logan's past explaining how his character develops and leading to a highly satisfying ending. Despite this being the third book in a very readable series, this could be read as a standalone book. I highly recommend this book to all those who have enjoyed books by Lee Child or other authors of that ilk or to those who would like an exciting introduction to the genre. I am looking forward to reading more from this author. I received this book from THE Book Club on Facebook in exchange for an honest review.
Thanks to the author, Rob Sinclair for the review copy of this fantastic thriller.
This is my first encounter with this series of books and, Carl Logan. And what a superb, exhilarating ride of a thriller it is!
Exceptionally written, fast-paced, gutsy, rollercoaster ride and extremely hard to put down. I will be going back and starting with the first two books, but this reads very well as a stand-alone novel.
Up there with the highest rated thrillers. Highly recommended!
This is the last of the trilogy and in my opinion best read after the first two books. At a push, you can dive straight in with this book as the salient points you need to catch up are included (but not in an intrusive way for those of us not playing catch up) but I wouldn't really recommend it. There is so much going on in this story that missing out one or both of the additional books would definitely lead to less of an overall experience. So, Carl Logan has been abandoned by the JIA. His identity has been erased and he has no access to any resources. Not only that but he is in the frame for the murder of someone high up and close to him. With practically no one left that he can trust, he finds and hooks up with a very strange ally and together they try and make sense of what is happening before too many more people get killed and the whole JIA is completely discredited. This book contained a lot more of Logan's backstory. Back from when he was first recruited and sent for training. We also follow him on a couple of his early missions. This foray into the past has a dual purpose. It gives us a bit of background and we see some of the meanings behind Logan's actions in the present day and also it shows key incidents that, as the book progresses, we see coming back to bite him. There are twists and turns, actions and reactions! Like the previous two books, the pace was high. Dialogue and interaction between characters switches from banter to serious and back again literally on a knife edge. Old characters are familiar and consistent and new ones well developed and believable. The storyline flows well and tidies up pretty much all of the loose ends from across the three books. I do admit to being a little sad that now the trilogy is over but I have an inkling that this is not the last we will see of Logan and I, for one, can't wait to see what happens next for him.
I received a free copy of this book from THE Book Club on FB in exchange for my honest review.
I have really enjoyed this series and as much as I enjoyed Dance With The Enemy and Rise Of The Enemy, I always felt that I still didn’t really know much about Carl Logan himself and his past. Well I am over joyed to say that everything really came together in Hunt For The Enemy for me.
The author delves a lot more into Carl’s past and especially into his years training. The reader gets a lot more insight into Carl and what makes him tick. There are a couple of surprises in this story, one being a certain character making an unexpected appearance which I was actually really pleased to see, though a little shocked.
Everything about this book had me well and truly hooked. From the brilliant first chapter, to the fast paced and gripping storyline, to the highly tense and brilliant ending. I loved everything about it.
Carl is such a great character. Due to his past, he is pretty much a loner. He is extremely good at his job but it’s obvious that, that is all it is to him at the end of the day, a job. You can sense his unhappiness and wanting out from the dangerous lifestyle he has been accustomed to. Only problem is due to his profession and seriously upsetting some very unsavoury characters, is it a profession you can ever truly leave or will you constantly be watching your back?
Hunt For The Enemy is going to be a huge hit with fans of this series. In a storyline that would give the more recent James Bond a run for his money, this is certainly a novel that will leave the reader on an absolute high.
Many thanks to the author for giving me an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is the third book in the 'Enemy' series by Rob Sinclair. Having read the first two I was really looking forward to this one.
It was excellent. A fast paced, thrilling spy thriller. In this book we learn more about Carl Logan's past life which was great. The books goes from past to present but is very easy to follow. Every chapter was exciting and really you just didn't know who to trust.
Although this is the third book in the trilogy it can be read as a stand alone.
My thanks to the author and TBC (The book club) on Facebook for an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
I received this as an arc from the book club (tbc) in exchange for an honest review. Logan has found Grainger. Now all he has to do Is keep her safe. Plus get them both out of Russia Before they get caught. .............
Wow. OMG. Wow. What a Absolutely fantastic read. CNPID. Rob has done it again. I still love Logan. I loved the ending too. This is a must read and I would highly recommend this book. Definitely worth more than 5 *.
Hunt for the Enemy is the third in the series of Carl Logan thriller novels written by British author Rob Sinclair. Highly recommended that you read the other two in the series before delving into this one, because the three stories are connected, and worth pursuing to the end.
I got onto these stories when the author Rob Sinclair connected me through Twitter. His novels are similar to mine, and he suggested that I check out his book. I did so, knowing in the back of my mind that in most cases, recommendations from authors to check out their own books are not a guarantee of quality. With Rob Sinclair, I was pleasantly surprised. The man could write page turners, a boy did he know how to craft engaging plots with believable, likeable characters and enough twists to keep you guessing the whole way through.
The other trick Rob Sinclair managed to achieve was getting me to read three of his books. As authors, we are a breed who often using ‘reading time’ to write, so I don’t get through as many books each year as the general reading populous. I know for a fact my wife reads about ten novels for every one that I do. I find I need to be selective, reading only one book per author, so I get a feel of trends, styles and themes across the thriller fiction market and not hone in on only one or two authors. But here I ended up reading all three of the Carl Logan thrillers, because, simply, I needed to know how it all ends. I was entertained.
To set the scene, Carl Logan a professional spy/assassin working for a joint U.K. and U.S. organisation called the JIA (Joint Intelligence Agency). In book two, Rise of the Enemy, he had been sent to Russia to complete a mission, where he was betrayed and spent time in a Russian prison. By the end of the second book, he had escaped his captors, and was on the run in Moscow. This is where Hunt for the Enemy commences, with Logan and his girlfriend — former FBI Agent Angela Grainger — fleeing Russia via Kazakhstan, because everyone, even his own side has turned against them.
Like all good political espionage thrillers, there is a conspiracy, and Logan and Grainger at the heart of it. Spies from all sides of the political spectrum are turning up dead everywhere, and the killers are closing in on our heroes. No one can be trusted, not even Grainger. To tell more will give away the twists and turns of the plot.
Of the three Carl Logan novels, I liked this one the most because it took Logan to the kind of countries you expect spies to work in, like Russian and Kazakhstan as already mentioned, but also China and a backstory set in various locales that include Morocco and Venezuela. But also because there is a back story to the character, for we learn more about how Logan became the efficient, dogged government assassin he is, and the choices he made that ultimately, led to the situation he finds himself in Hunt for the Enemy.
Rob Sinclair has turned to straight crime fiction with his latest release, Dark Fragments, but I hope he doesn’t leave it too long before he returns to Logan and The Enemy series. The character is established. It’s time for Logan to get his teeth sunk into some really meaty missions. Do I hear the Syria, the Congo, Libya, The Philippines or a host of other badass countries calling for Carl Logan to come and solve their political problems, one corpse of a bad guy at a time?
4.5* Carl Logan has succeeded in rescuing Angela Grainger and they are both on the run. Hunted by the FSB, the CIA and the JIA there is no-one Carl can trust. He is more alone than ever before and needs to get himself and Angela out of Russia. The fact that Carl’s identification, bank accounts and his record with the JIA have all been completely wiped is a blessing in disguise, leaving no obvious trail for anyone to follow.
Peter Winter has taken over Mackie’s position in the JIA. It’s a position he has wanted badly but perhaps not under the present circumstances and especially while Mackie’s killer is on the loose. Peter is aware other members of the JIA are unimpressed with his promotion and think he isn’t up to the job. But Peter is more perceptive than they give him credit for and he knows not everyone are as they seem. He is determined to find out the truth of what happened and who is responsible.
The start of the story incorporates quite a few flashback chapters and although they filled in a lot of Logan’s past, showing how his character has been developed through his training, I initially found the back and forth between years and locations slightly confusing and it kind of stopped me from being immediately engaged with the story. Mainly, I think, because at that point I didn’t know how the incidents related to the whole plot and couldn’t remember if some of the characters were mentioned before. It just felt a little choppy. That said, the story more than lived up to expectations and I enjoyed it very much. Once things became clearer and the various story lines began to intertwine, I settled into it and was able to see how Carl’s past experiences influence the present and relate to the predicament he finds himself in.
Carl Logan is still the all action hero, hard and tough, but there’s another, slightly softer, side showing. This story goes deeper into Carl’s mind and personality and he begins to understand how and why the events that made him question his belief in certain people have led him to this point. The are no rules anymore, anything goes and Carl will do whatever it takes to survive, root out the corruption and find out the whole truth.
A well thought through, fast paced and complex plot, full of action, suspense and thrills, not to mention interesting twists. An excellent ending which I didn’t see coming. The writing is as descriptive and vivid as ever with well developed characters and a great story arc.
Well, what a finale! I decided to read this straight after Rise Of The Enemy (The Enemy Series Book 2) as I needed to know what happened to JIA agent Carl Logan. Book 2 finished on a such a cliffhanger that I had no choice but to start book 3 immediately! I read Dance With The Enemy (Book 1) last year. All three books had me hooked, but I think Hunt For The Enemy (Book 3) has been my favourite. In my opinion the series has just got better with each book. Maybe it's partly because we're already familiar with a lot of the characters. It's hard to review a third book in a series as I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't read the first two books yet, but I don't think I'm giving anything away by telling you that Logan has been set up. Framed for a murder he didn't commit he has had no choice but to go on the run and find the truth himself. He has no idea who's set him up. His worst fear is that it's the JIA, his own people who he's dedicated his life to. He doesn't know who he can trust anymore. But, with people dying all over the place it's a race against time to sort it out once and for all. I liked the back stories which helped to make more sense of the situation. They certainly shed light on a some of the dodgy characters and helped to bring everything together. There are also plenty of surprises along the way! All in all, this book (and the whole series) is fast-paced and full of suspense. Very cleverly written. Carl Logan is a brilliant character. His story is fascinating. The mix of interesting characters and intriguing story lines keep you hooked from the start. If you haven't had the pleasure of reading this book (or any of the series) as yet, I would highly recommend that you do, but I would definitely recommend reading them in order.
With many thanks to the Author, Publisher and Netgalley for my Kindle copy.
The book starts off as a flashback to a time in Morocco, with Logan instructed to do a job by Mackie. A job he is not 100% sure about. We are then transported to the present time and to Logan arriving on Granger’s doorstep. That can only mean one thing they are not safe.
Throughout this book, we are shown insights into Logan’s career. What made Logan the man he is today. We are also transported to the present situation and the problems that have occurred. Why they are in danger. Why they must run and why they are being hunted! They need to keep the JIA (Joint Intelligence Agency) off their case, stay ahead of the game and do this all whilst trying to solve the incident that brought them together.
This is transferred in the author’s unique way through the interweaving chapters.
This book to me was fast paced, had me wanting to learn more about Logan and what made him tick! How his career was started and the obstacles that were put in his path along the way. I loved the way we were taken back to his early days and given the opportunity to understand why he is like he is, the people that have hurt him, the people who love him and most importantly the way in which he handles the situations he finds himself in.
I was drawn into the story from page one and didn’t want my commute to end and when it did end, I wanted it to be home time again so I could get on public transport and open my kindle to read some more.
This is the final part in the “Hunt” trilogy, but a part of me hopes that this is not the end of us hearing about Logan.
Thanks to the authors publishers and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book and also thanks to Rob Sinclair for writing such another great book. I for one can’t wait to see what is next in store from this author.
Carl Logan is an agent with the Joint Intelligence Agency (JIA) and is a trained to kill for his country in cold blood. But he was captured and tortured and this has changed him forever. He is now on the run from the JIA, various other agencies and running for his life. His only aims are to stay alive and find out who is chasing him and why they want him dead.
Review:
Logan and Grainger were the main characters in this book and although they are portrayed to be cold agents who kill for their country and do as they are told by their agencies, I found myself warming to them both and willing them to both be alive by the end of the book!! The story has a lot of intricacies and you do have to concentrate to be able to follow the plot as it does jump around, both in time and in geography. But this all adds to the twist that comes at the end and actually all this intricacies are required to make you sit there with your mouth gaping when you realise what happens at the end of the book.
I was gripped by the story all the way through the book because a lot happens within the book even before you get to the ending and this kept my interest right from the very beginning. I was impressed with how everything linked together and liked how the book finalized everything at the end rather than leaving me hanging and wondering what happened.
I found the author described everything really well and I found myself imagining the scene he was trying to set – I like it when this happens in books as it allows me to imagine myself within the story.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it – 4 out of 5 stars.
This book is a must for anyone into a thriller story a la James Bond!!
I have previously read Rise Of The Enemy and Dance With The Enemy which I loved to bits but Rob has absolutely outdone himself with this 3rd book in the enemy series!! I absolutely loved it. He added extra twists into it at places in the book I just didn't expect. There was more action and the romance between Carl and Angela gets even more confusing.
I firmly believe he made the right decisions with the deaths in this book even though they might sadden some people. I am glad the events of the last two books have been tied up in this book but it has been so obviously left open for Carl to keep fighting on through Rob's keyboard.
I am a real fan of Rob Sinclair and I hope he gets all the credit he deserves. I wish him every success with this series. Well done.
This is the first book I've read by this author, and I have to say, I love how well he holds my interest.
The main character reminds me of a cross between James Bond, Dirk Pitt, and Aaron Cross. You get the intrigue of Bond, the 'he got out of that HOW?' from Pitt, and the 'he just can't catch a break' from Cross.
There is constant action, so the book keeps you on the edge of your seat. I absolutely love suspense, so this book fit perfectly into my wheelhouse. I look forward to more by Mr. Sinclair, and intend to go back and read the first two in the series.
Great book, definitely worth reading. I enjoyed this story so much that I purchased the Authors first 2 books straight after finishing this one. Even though this book is the third book in the series, you could read it as a stand alone and still enjoy it. You can't help but like the main character Agent Carl Logan. I like the way the story takes us back to Logan's early career, and gives you an understanding on how he became who he is. Great Action Spy Thriller.
I was waiting eagerly for the third encounter with Carl Logan, and once again I was not disappointed. He is an all action hero. This faced paced action thriller is a brilliant read. Carl Logan rocks!
And that's this trilogy done. Logan finally figures out what the hell is going on and shoots his way out of the whole mess, with a lot of macho posturing, gratuitous violence, and people being gullible idiots along the way. We get a bunch of flashbacks to his training days and old missions (the significance of which eventually becomes clear) but like in the previous book, all the flashback scenes just kill the momentum. At least half of them could have been dispensed with entirely. Ultimately, this was a decent ending for the trilogy, but the journey there was too convoluted. On the upside, at least it was a quick read...
Carl Logan might have escaped from a Russian prison but he seems to have fallen from the frying pan into the fire as he’s wanted for the murder of his JIA boss, Mackie (Charles McCabe). It’s not just his firm that’s after him for this but also the CIA and the Russian FSB.
Logan needs to discover who murdered Mackie and why he was captured and tortured by the Russians, but feels that he can’t do this without first rescuing Angela Grainger. She’s been hiding in Russia as the FBI are very keen to pin a kidnap on her. You would think that Carl would run in the opposite direction from Angela, as on their last encounter, she shot him, leaving him badly injured. But Carl knows there’s more to her than just being a rogue CIA agent.
Their escape from Russia goes relatively smoothly – too smoothly in fact, as they can see that they are being closely followed. Carl and Angela can’t understand how the FSB can be keeping such close tags of them until they realise that while they were both held by the Russians, tracker implants had been inserted. Once these are removed, they can get on with their journey that takes them first to Kazakhstan. Here Carl Logan is hoping that a captain he’d met in the Scottish Highlands while training with the SAS will have forgotten their past encounter and help him and Angela find a way to reach China where he’s sure he’ll find proof of who is behind his name being on everyone’s hit list. (Before working for JIA, he’d undergone training with various top secret groups worldwide, but his training with a rough bunch of SAS-trained soldiers had left scars not just on Logan but on two members of the SAS team).
This is the third book featuring Carl Logan. The first two were both brilliant fast-paced novels, but somehow Rob Sinclair has moved up a gear with this third novel. The pace is relentless and with so many things stacked against Carl Logan and Angela Grainger, and even the future existence of the JIA in jeopardy, you have to keep turning the pages hoping that there will be a positive outcome for them all.
There’s more to this story, but now I want to talk about Rob Sinclair. He’s proving to be a gifted writer whose imagination has worked overtime to create this outstanding series. The characters are brilliantly portrayed so that you the reader, get a “bird’s eye view” of the storyline. He’s also managed to keep the excitement level high in each book, something that is relatively hard to do when using the same characters in a series. However, if I have one gripe it’s this; Rob Sinclair – how could you leave us with a cliff-hanger like that? How are we, your avid readers, supposed to survive not knowing the outcome until the next book is published?
You might want to know if I think this is a stand-alone book. Yes and no is my answer. I think that having read the books in order, I’ve got to know Carl Logan through some very difficult times so personally, I would recommend that if possible you read the other two books in the series first. But if you are impatient, then you will manage to pick up enough in this book to be able to agree that it’s a brilliant story line.

A word of warning if you have not yet read Rob Sinclair’s finale of the ‘Enemy’ series in Hunt for the Enemy. When you start you will not stop reading this thumping rollercoaster of an epic thriller until you have reached the last page. The best in the series. Just a shame it has ended here. The story starts with a step back in time and to a job he has been asked to do and now branded a traitor Logan is on the run in a grim and freezing Russian winter and he is fighting for his life as he has been framed for a murder and now the Joint Intelligence Agency (JIA) call him a ‘rogue operative’. Why? What has Logan done after such a long and loyal service. Is this what happens to operatives when they have served their useful purpose the JIA.
Logan is a man on the run a fugitive that the agency wants to see eliminated, but it is not just the JIA that are after Logan and he must use all his skills to stay one step ahead and stay alive. In Hunt for the Enemy the past and present collide in a story that is a gripping action packed thriller that packs a punch were other espionage thriller lack. The story takes the reader on a globe-trotting high stakes and murky world of international espionage. You cannot help but want to see Logan survive and stop the killing of agents from all sides. Along the way he is re-united with a former lover who once turned against him and she too is on the run and together, this time round will Logan trust her again or will he turn against her. Sinclair has done an outstanding job with all three books in the series and has brought the story finale alive by bringing the best of the previous two book and turned Hunt for the Enemy into a thrilling conclusion and one I can highly recommend if you have not read any of the books then all three are a must if you love high speed action drama at its very best. What now for Rob Sinclair? I cannot wait to find out. My thanks to the author for a review copy.
This is my first time reading any of Rob Sinclair's work and this book was chosen by a book club I am a member of as our weekly read and I received my copy from NetGalley in return for an honest review. This is the last instalment of a trilogy but I was rest assured it would be fine to read as a stand alone and it did feel that way due to the flash backs of our main character Carl Logan that gives the background to explain what he is doing and where he is now. I thought this was very useful in giving the character depth and to understanding the actions and motives of this very complex character. Carl Logan is an agent with the Joint Intelligence Agency and is trained to kill but he has been framed for a murder and now the very agency he worked for and others are tracking him down after labelling him a traitor. However if this wasn't enough, throw in to the mix him coming across his former lover who is also on the run and has formerly betrayed him and we wait to see what will happen next as the story keeps you guessing as to just who he can trust. The author has a style of writing that draws you straight in to the story from the beginning and although the plot is a fast action packed spy thriller his clever characterisation also leads you to glimpse a soft side to Carl Logan which leaves you wanting to route for him right through this fast paced, descriptive story that accumulates with a well executed finale. I certainly would like to back track now and read the previous two books and more of Sinclair's work. I would highly recommend this book.
Logan is back and this time it is personal!! He's been betrayed by anyone and everyone and he's realised "the enemy of my enemy is my friend".
Hunt for the Enemy picks up where Rise of the Enemy left off with Logan on the run from the various security services in a rather chilly Russia. I felt cold reading in during a remarkably mild February. The chase continues around Eastern Europe and beyond. But we also see a bit of Logan's history, the people who have trained and influenced him and the events that have shaped him.
This time round, things are getting tighter for Logan and just when you think the game is up for him, like a magician he pulls something out the bag.
I'm not a huge fan of spy thrillers but the Enemy series have been a fantastic set to read. Rob Sinclair's writing draws you in so you feel you there with Logan whether it's central Paris or deepest darkest Siberia! I was willing Logan to succeed at every turn, to find the Enemy! Hunt for the Enemy is a spectacular finale to the trilogy!
Thank you to Rob Sinclair for sending me this ebook to read and review.
WOW, what a thrilling end to an AMAZING trilogy, that I had been eagerly waiting for !!!! Hunt for the Enemy is book three in this brilliant series and I have to be one of Mr Sinclair’s biggest fans. I can’t recommend this series highly enough, although I do believe the series should be read from the beginning as there is a continuation from the first two books, Dance with the Enemy and Rise of the Enemy. This was another action packed, fast paced, dizzy ride for me. I just love Carl Logan and was very happy to hear that this won’t be the end of him. Many thanks to Rob Sinclair and THE Book Club for this exciting ARC.
Carl Logan disappointed me. Or should I say, the promise of Jason Bourne in the first novel was not kept. Anyway, this novel ended on a high note, but it did not convince me of the story. I liked Carl Logan, but I guess, the espionage story of Rob Sinclair did not click well for me. It was a long drawn out unreasonable passion that pushed Logan's action, than what his brain trained to do and that did not sit well with me. And the template of capture-torture-resist-escape-fight-capture-fight-more fight - did not work out well. I have read too many action novels to be impressed with a slightly less perfect hero!! :(
Just go read all three books in Rob Sinclair's Enemy series. They are all well written and tension filled. Carl Logan is a real hero with a deep personality. You will appreciate his personal inner struggles!
Loved this book, probably best of the trilogy and that's saying something, getting insights into his early career and why he has so many people out to get him was well plotted
This is the third book in the trilogy and I probably made the mistake of not reading them one after the other. I had read the first two back to back, and they were quite complex, which meant that on reading this one I was having to delve into the memory banks to remember what had taken place previously. Having said that, it is a very good read, but it is it’s complexity that makes me reduce the number of stars that I have given it. There are important flashbacks to Carl Logan’s training and previous exploits, but these did get in the way a little bit. We did learn a great deal more about both him and Angela Grainger, who was involved in the kidnap of an important politician in the first book, and h er role could be confusing at times. The book moves on at great speed, from Russia to Kazakhstan and on to China, with some of the protagonists playing double and even triple roles before the story concludes. Well worth reading, but better if read after each other.
