Written by the daughter of a work colleague. A great first novel. A love story and whodunnit all rolled into one. Reminded me of US author Melinda Leigh. I hope we see more of Rebecca Spink's work
It’s not particularly breaking new ground here in the mystery/thriller genre but it was a blast to read. Very easy and breezy with just the right amount of complexity. One criticism as with most of these books is the lack of intelligence among characters. Easy recommend for lovers of the genre.
It's very clear that this book is completely unedited, most probably self-published. I got it from a charity shop 'blind date with a book' and that's the only way it could have sold. 1. There's spelling and grammatical mistakes every ~10 pages. Some sentences just don't make sense. And at one point even a character name is changed. 2. The way events are described makes no sense. 3. The way the whole story goes does not tie up and makes no sense. 4. The ending is completely illogical and makes no sense. 5. Zero research done as to how police, hospitals or children work. The time I'll never get back...
I have loved reading this book...what a great read. With the mix of romance and murder/mystery I literally couldn't put it down. I look forward to more reads from Rebecca, a fantastic first novel!
