Every parent wants a healthy baby, but what happens if you know your child will be born with challenges? My anxiety was very real while reading it, because being pregnant and having a baby is no joke. “Not Good Enough For You” explores the feelings of Jackeline, (our main character) during pregnancy, the fear of an unwanted diagnosis and how we educate ourselves to receive our children with the best resources available and lots of love. Elizabeth Lyon, the author, shares a very similar story in her personal life, being the mom of a beautiful baby girl with Down Syndrome, and just like "Sookie" overcomes the challenges life is presenting. A book full of rawness, painful experiences and an open soul.

I would recommend it to any expecting parent who is going through a difficult time during pregnancy or anyone interested in how to overcome real life challenges with perseverance and hope.

Book:- Not Good Enough For You
Author:- Elizabeth lyon

What a beautiful , tearful story 🥹

It's a story of a mother who has a minor illness but it passes onto her daughter because it runs in their blood . It's story about raw emotions as how a mother struggles to accept the truth and to come on to terms over it.

Honestly it's too true it almost feels like your own thoughts were put into writing. It's heart wracking about what a mother truly feels about these kind of situations. She blames her self . She thinks she's not good enough for her daughter and she won't be a good mom but she will be a good mom because she loves her daughter too much ❤️.

It's based on a true story and obviously this book holds a special place in Elizabeth's heart .

It's her first novel it's obvious there will be something you won't like about and obviously there will be mistakes and some poorly written part but I won't judge her for it because writing a novel AND publishing it for a public eye to judge is damn big deal .

As her first novel she outdid herself and I'm proud of being her friend (IF you see me as your friend ofcourse!:-) )

Go read it and show some love . It's on Kindle and paperback is available for US people

Thank you Elizabeth for sharing parts of your own story throughout Jackie's story. Read this if you are pregnant and facing challenges in that pregnancy or just to support an indie author. This book is based on real life events and exemplifies hope, drive, and a hell of a lot of preservance in regards to pregnancy and the many challenges it can throw at you.

Full disclosure- I am the mother of the author and I held the bar high for each of my children and have applauded the successes of their achievements, academic and relational.
Not Good Enough for You is a fictional memoir that is poignant, emotional, insightful and humbling. It is a must-read for any family experiencing a pregnancy with variations from the norm. It is also a story about a couple who have a strong, loving relationship and an abundance of love for a baby who experienced a lengthy entry into this world and a first year of not-the-norm firsts. It describes heart-rending emotions and courageous acts of faith that make this fictional memoir a strong debut by the author and is worthy of a 5 star rating. It is especially important for those who may feel lonely on their pregnancy journey.

This story follows an unexpected, high-risk pregnancy. It highlights the struggles of becoming a mother, our expectations versus reality, and how lives are changed by bringing another life into the world. It was heartfelt and moving!

I poured my soul into this as it's a fictional memoir. I added things and took things out as I saw fit, and not wanting my whole life displayed.
Jackie struggles with wanting to be perfect early on. She feels like everything she does isn't right. All Sookie wants is love and attention. All Dean wants is for his girl's to be happy. Life is never perfect, especially with a baby with health complications. Jackie and Dean do what they think is right and that's what parenting is about.
I hope you pick this up and root for Sookie. I hope you feel you are enough, too.
