Trapped in a failing, sexless marriage, I sought the help of a highly-recommended therapist in hopes he'd help me find my spark again.
It was the perfect plan until I actually set foot in his office. Dr. Ethan Stag was sinfully hot, everything I'd ever wanted, and grooming me to be his good girl whether I knew it or not.
Octavia Jensen is a coffee addict, a tale-spinner and a hopeless romantic, usually in that order. She spends her free time chasing adrenaline rushes or writing steamy, romance novels, and sometimes, those feel like the same thing.
Cora is stuck in a failing sexless marriage and feels lost and lonely. I really felt sorry for her and was rooting for her to find her happiness.
Dr Ethan stag was so damn sexy you could feel the chemistry with him and Cora from the first session but I loved that we got some tension and build up before any spice.
You have to go into this book with an open mind and know that life is messy and things aren’t always black and white. There is some cheating in this but I promise it does all make sense and works out, I don’t want to spoil the journey for anyone but please trust the process.
As always Octavia is so great with making consent clear but also super sexy and there is always aftercare too. I think this is so important in books with BDSM to show it’s safe and consensual and adds to the romance aspect as often during those scenes before and after you get those vulnerable moments between them.
I enjoyed the little scene with Harrison and Brielle from her '11 series' which I also loved. Seeing Brielle trying to taunt Harrison in front of his brothers was great fun.
Octavia sent this to me as a Beta read and I wasn’t sure what to expect. She said it was different from her usual, and she did not lie, but it blew me away. Her best work to date in my opinion. Don’t let the TWs scare you, this one is an angsty, forbidden romance of the best kind. Cora and Ethan are fire and gasoline and their on page chemistry was dynamic. I cannot wait for more people to read this absolute work of art.
This book gave me everything I needed from it. The hot therapist was an absolute yes from me and the Stag brothers being super possessive was so adorable. I love that this book gave me a story and more emotion. I really got to understand Cora and Ethan on a deeper level than just steamy moments and it helped me really get into the book.
(Arc Review) Cora is a woman in a loveless and sexless marriage with a mediocre man (took me about 4 paragraphs to feel happy that he was about to be cheated). She looks for help in sex therapy, but she didn’t expect her therapist to be so f* hot. Dr. Ethan also is not expecting his new patient to be so attractive, funny and smart. And he is definitely not expecting to be so hard to keep work ethics in the following weeks. He genuinely tries to help Cora with her wedding, tho, even as he falls completely in love with her. I LOVE this book so much. This made me blush and hug my pillow while reading, this couple have SO much chemistry and sxl tension. And they are adorable. Beautiful, really. Ethan is a huge fan of Cora. He admires her in a way that’s amazing to read. I love how their relationship develops, but this is a very slow burn. However, the amount of sxl tension made me feel like the book was edging me. 😂 When they actually get to the really good stuff, is deliciously kinky. Last but not least: it’s so refreshing to read well portrayed characters in their thirties. Not as old people as usual, but as young, attractive, wise people in their sxl prime. I wish I could see more of this in the genre. Love this.
I absolutely LOVED everything at this story! The sexual tension between Cora and Ethan was just *chefs kiss* 🤌🏽. Cora enlists the help of Ethan, sex therapist, to help better her marriage but she realizes that her marriage can’t be saved and she starts to fall for Ethan. Ethan is also a certified Dom and he teaches her about BDSM 😏.
WHEN THESE TWO FINALLY GAVE IN 😮💨 THE HOTTEST THING EVER 🥵🥵.
I always appreciate the level of detail that Octavia puts into her writing and how she writes her characters. How well she writes her BDSM scenes and the aftercare are just AMAZING 🤌🏽.
Also there’s this scene where Ethan shows up at Cora’s job because he couldn’t wait to see if she was okay and it was EVERYTHING 😮💨
I ate this book up 😍 I liked that this book told more of a complete story than the other 3 in this series rather than just time jumps each chapter. Cora & Ethan were 🔥🔥🔥🔥
First and foremost, thank you Octavia for sending me this arc! I’m forever greatful♥️
Secondly… Y’ALL need to read this book when it releases on October 11th. If you like Harrison, who is more on the punishing side of being Dom, then you will LOVE Ethan. He is a praise Dom 😍 let me just tell you, the mouth on this man?? PHEW *fans self*
So Ethan is Harrison’s older brother, he’s a sex therapist who takes on Cora as a patient. Cora is having marriage problems. Her marriage to her husband was that of convenience and expectation. She was a high school cheerleader and he played football, everyone expected them to marry, so they did. They did have a few good years together, but then everything started to go down hill. They fell out of love, lost communication, and their sex life became passionless and frankly became nonexistent. Cora thought that something was wrong with her, so she books an appointment with Ethan’s office to help explore herself and “fix” herself. Ethan and her are immediately attracted to one another, and things kind of go from there. Cora did try to salvage her marriage, but ultimately found that it was not going to work between them. She does end up cheating on husband with Ethan one night but then tells him the next day. Her husband also confesses that he’s been talking to and falling for a friend of his but didn’t know how to tell her. They end their relationship on a good note, and then Ethan and Cora begin their D/s relationship. 🥰
DUDE, THE SPICE AND THE DIRTY TALK🥵🥵 top tier shit, I’m tellin you.
If there is one thing Octavia does really well, it’s healthy relationships. I have never read about a healthier D/s relationship. The aftercare, the care DURING the scenes, just everything. ♥️
Pick this novella series up!! You will not regret it. 🫶🏼

This is a book that asks the question: Is cheating justifiable in certain circumstances?
A woman in a sexless marriage is at her with end when her husband would rather play video games then have sex with her. She goes to a sex therapist. She applies her lessons she learns with her husband. She feels an immense attraction to the therapist which is mutual ( alternates povs). She wants him to teach her bdsm as well.
She starts to break out of her sexual rut and even drags her husband to the sessions.
She feels unwanted and unloved by her husband but the therapist offers everything she's missing in her life.
Will she take him up on that offer?
I'd recommend reading the book but don't expect a deep romance and do expect a ending that may provide a answer the question about cheating being justifiable. I gave it 4 stars as it entertained me enough in less then 200 pages.
This is definitely my favourite book in the series thus far (but I have a feeling Quentin's book might be a game changer ;) ) Loved the dynamic and the transparency between the two of them; they truly showed the importance of communication. AND THE GOOD NEWS IS, THE DIALOGUES ARE NO LONGER CRINGEY (except the beast and belle nickname)
Sin Sessions is a standalone taboo romance that follows Ethan Stag — the brother of Harrison Stag from the Eleven series. Cora is a woman in a loveless and sexless marriage and enlists the help of Ethan, a sex therapist, to help better her marriage. But Ethan and Cora’s chemistry explosive from the very first session and gets Cora thinking about her happiness over anything else. I loved the topics of not only reconnecting with your partner but ultimately reconnecting with yourself. The cameos of Harrison and Bri were too cute! Can’t wait for Q and Roman’s story!
Block an afternoon and enjoy the ride with this book.
Ethan and Coraline
Coraline is in a failing marriage. She's determined to fix herself and the marriage. Only, she ends up falling for her therapist and leaving her husband. All necessary things for everyone's happiness.
3.5 stars I mostly enjoyed this one, but the last 20% just sort of petered out for me. I also felt like there could have been more tension throughout, given the tropes.
Just too preface, this has cheating in it and I normally don't like that.
I've never read anything like this before. It was so hot, steamy and spicy. This is Harrison (from the 11 Dates series, his brother's book. Ethan is a s3x therapist and meets Cora who is struggling in her marriage. She goes to see Ethan to see if she can bring back that spark to her marriage. But they just end up falling for each other. Let me tell you this was so hot and I loved every second of it.
Thank you to Octavia Jensen for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
The entire cheating trope is not my favorite at all, that being said, Ethan was everything and I can't remember the last time a book had me laughing so hard so many times. I'm talking full on belly laughs. Crying. Snorting. Ugly donkey noises. Plus the spice, while not as much as previous books in the series, is just as good.
I loved this book and how it touched on reconnecting with your own body, intimately, and how to relate to your partner. I found those moments/lessons so sensual and applicable. FMC at times during her inner monologue, felt like she was taking pages from my own life. There were many moments where I could've sworn Jensen read my old diaries (if I kept any!)
“She was my patient. She was his wife. She wasn’t mine.”
The way I still cannot stop thinking about this book. Octavia Jensen is a new author to me this year and when I discovered the Stag brothers, I haven’t looked back. Her writing, spice, characters and stories are just amazing. Not to mention she is THE sweetest author and loves to interact with her readers. It just warms my heart.
Dr. Ethan Stag…I’m sorry Harrison, but Ethan is my new favorite Stag brother. He is a HOT sex therapist who has a new client: Cora James. His very married, very off-limits, very attractive client who he falls for instantly.
Cora is in a lackluster marriage and trying to re-ignite that spark but finds herself falling for Ethan and has to decide whether to continue trying to save her marriage without the help of her husband, or allow Ethan to give her everything she’s been looking for.
THE TENSION!!! Phew. I loved it. For a shorter story, the tension is great. I loved how Ethan helped Cora learn about not only her marriage but herself. He created a confidence in her that she hadn’t seen since early on in her marriage.
“We both knew it was forbidden. But if it was so wrong, why did it feel better than anything else in the world, especially when she wrapped her arms around my neck and deepened it even further, giving me my first real taste of her delicious tongue?”
I love Cora and Ethan so much. This book was just everything and more to me. I am so happy with it and will read whatever Octavia writes at this point.
Sex therapist you say? Well, let me read this, immediately. 👀
Ethan is a sex therapist, also known as every women's wet dream with his attentiveness, sexiness and overall aura. Cora is a bookstore employee (a dream, I know) and is trapped in a marriage, which lacks the lust. Ethan helps her find herself again, sexually. The tension these two have is off the roof from their first session. This book is messy, but in a way which makes you eat up every page, if that makes sense.
There is so much fun spice in this book, you can choose from public play, BDSM, edging, praise, all the sensations, ice play and more! 🔥
It was fun, I enjoyed the originality. Though I didn't stand behind some of the heroine's quick changes of mind, the coming clean and the end might have had more conversation. Overall, if you want to read filthy doctor romance, here is one!
❝ Every bone in my body was screaming for me to push her, to ask her to leave her husband and try this for real, not under the guise of belated sex education. ❞
This was actually surprisingly wholesome. The spice and tension were so delicious, but Ethan is so damn sweet. The way he absolutely resolved to just love Cora. 😭
There was hardly any angst and considering the theme of the book I was both surprised and enamoured by this fact.
AND THAT MOUTH. The praise was fucking top tier. I am still sweating. Ethan Stag has officially joined my Praise Kings list. 👑🥵
My thoughts: Not a fan of cheating in general but its very apparent pages in that the husband Keith is a prick, so I don’t care about the character and take their relationship as a dead-but-walking relationship where it hasn’t ended but it also isn’t a relationship in the spirit of the meaning.
She wrote the Dr. Stag dialogue well, it felt like a real [good] therapist was talking (done therapy myself, can confirm). Minus the steamy stuff for the story, good therapy talk. And the scene with Keith and Cora talking truth was very sweet and very adult. Finally their communication comes through and they are better for it. This whole entire book could be a lit class study on the positive benefits of communication in life and sex.
Given that this is a series about the Stag brothers, its fun to see the other brothers have some “page time”, it all lends to her realistic world building and the reader-relation to her characters, main or side. In movie jargon, it’s always my favorite to see when a guest star is liked so much that they become a regular or get their own spin off. :) Can’t wait to read and get more time with these brothers.
I honestly didn't think I would enjoy this. When my husband picked this for me to read and I saw it had cheating involved, I wasn't expecting to devour the book the way I did. Cheating is one of my triggers. I don't care to read about it. But when the main characters cheat on other people with each other, its not as bad, so I gave it a chance. and HOLY FUCKING HELL did I enjoy the fuck outta this book.
So we got Ethan who is a sex therapist. Then we got Cora, who seeks out Ethan to try and save her failing marriage. Cora has been unhappy in her marriage for a while. Her husband is not interested in her at all and doesn't really notice she's even there. When she tries talking to him he gets defensive and blames her for shit being wrong. So she asks him to go to therapy. He says no, why would they? Therapy is for couples who don't get along and argue. But for them to not get along, they would have to actually talk, which they don't. So Cora decides to try and do it alone. When she goes to Dr. Stag for sex therapy, he gives her tips to help herself get off. Find out what she likes and dislikes. This whole book is basically one big smutty tease! Its so slow going and sensual, but that was the point. Dr. Stag was trying to make it not about the actual orgasm, but the journey to it. Eventually Cora is able to get her husband to try somethings, but after his one and only visit with Cora to see Dr. Stag, Cora quickly realizes, there is no saving her marriage. Even if Keith (husband) does do everything Dr. Stag says, he's not into it and it doesn't FEEL right.
Ethan had been struggling to stay professional, keep his feelings out of his sessions with Cora, and help her with her marriage. All the while hating that Keith had the freedom to touch her when he didn't appreciate her. Finally though, Ethan cracks and goes after Cora. Their build up is also slow going, but even though actual sex doesn't happen until later, the build up and the sensual scenes we get between these two are fucking magic. Ethan's possessiveness, the way he spoils Cora, and the way he takes his time with her... its just sooo good.
I didn't read books 1-3 ... I only jumped in to this one and though the couple in books 1-3 are mentioned, I don't feel like I missed out on anything in this book by not reading those first. Though now, I do wanna go and read those if they are anything like this book. Cause HOLY HELL.
Yeah, this was definitely a damn good book. :D
Spice 5/5 Humor 1/5 Emotional 2/5 World Building 5/5 Overall 5/5
Cora James is beautiful, dreamy, and hopeful - but she doesn’t know it. Trapped in a failing, sexless marriage, Cora is slowly losing all sense of both her self worth and self esteem. As a last attempt to save her marriage, Cora decides to start going to therapy. It was a good plan, in theory - at least, until she walked in and saw her therapist in person. Dr. Ethan Stag is hot as hell, and he’s the most sensual man she’s ever met. The more sessions Cora has, the less she wants to work things out with her husband - because Ethan is the only man she can think about. As her therapist, he won’t touch her… but sooner or later, the lines get blurred. And once they cross them? There’s no going back.
Holy freaking cow, this might be my favorite Octavia Jensen book yet! Forbidden romance is one of my favorite tropes, and this book definitely checked all my boxes! The therapist/patient line is one that isn’t normally crossed, and there was something sinfully delicious about watching Cora and Ethan toe that line, and eventually cross it. Their relationship development was extremely well written and beautiful to watch, because in a way, Cora and Ethan saved each other.
Cora. I love how sweet she is. She’s a wonderful person, but years of watching her husband pull away from her (and their marriage in general) have damaged the way she views herself. Cora struggles with feelings of guilt, shame, and self loathing - she wonders if the divide in her marriage is her fault, if she’s not desirable anymore, and even if she herself is enough. Her sessions with Dr. Ethan Stag definitely puts a stop to all of that. With Ethan’s help, Cora learns to love herself again, and she finally understands that her wants and needs, both sexual and emotional, are valid.
And Ethan. Oh lordy, this man. I cannot say enough good things about him. He is so dedicated to his job, and when he meets Cora, his first instinct is to help her get her self esteem back. I love how patient he was with her, how understanding he was of her problems and her feelings. He never, ever invalidated Cora, and that’s a huge part of the reason why I have so much respect for him. He always puts her first, and after everything she’s been through, that’s something she needs in a partner. Cora and Ethan are absolutely perfect for each other, and I loved every second of their story. 5 steamy stars!

𝙎𝙞𝙣 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 is book 4 in 𝘌𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 series by Octavia Jensen. This book features the oldest Stag brother, Ethan Stag. Cora is his new patient. Unhappy in her marriage in which her husband doesn't even look at her (and there is a surprising reason for that in the end) she decides to go to sex therapy on her own to try and better her marriage.
Ethan and Cora’s chemistry is explosive from the very first session and it gets Cora thinking about her happiness over anything else. She finaly starts to put her needs and want first, and stops (slovly with Ethan's help) to not be ashamed of the sexual desires she has. They do a good (but HARD 😈) job of not blurring the patient/doctor lines until it's clear that her marriage is beyond saving.
If you're not a fan of cheating, skip this one. All the characters know what they're doing, and while Cora comes clean right away, I'm sure there will be people who may discuss the emotional or physical aspect of cheating as a turn off. However, I still really enjoyed this story and thought it was well written.

Oh my, oh my. This was so good on so many levels. I felt so many things with the book it was amazing. I loved every second of it. Ethan is now my favorite Stag brother!!
I really felt connected to Cora, her struggles were so relatable it got me in the feels. All the characters in the book were just so great. I could go on and on, but like always, I don't want to give away too much of the plot.
And plot there is an abundance for a shorter book. I found myself feeling not ok with what was happening some of the time and feeling like so many things were just wrong, but by the end I remembered one important thing, nothing is ever black or white. People are complex, relationships are complicated, and life/change is so hard to do let alone talk about. This book reminded me that, while it may not of been ok, the events of the book and the people involved acted in a way that they thought they had no choice about. And I forgave them all.
The spice was on fire!! The author did a wonderful job of creating beautiful intimacy between our two main characters. I felt like a voyeur but in the best way. Some of the scenes were just so amazing, because it was about more than lust. Because of the level of intimacy, the burn is unconventional to some, but you will understand when you read it.
And read you should! This book was very good and unexpected. So much heart is here and so much to learn about people. Pick it up if you want a great story, flawed characters, hot scenes, and lots of love.

Review for ARC of Sin Sessions a novella by Octavia Jensen.
In the same world as the “11” series, this one follows Harrison’s older brother, Ethan, who is a s3x therapist. Cora seeks out his help in an effort to save her failing marriage, but ends up with a new problem as soon as she meets her hot AF doctor. Two words. Sensate. Focus.
There are a lot of k!nk and s3xual discussions as well as graphic seggsy scenes and language (duh, if you follow me you know). This one is more of a slow-burn, but holy shit, the tension, THE TENSION 🔥🥵🫠. I swear, Octavia is a master at edging the readers. 🤣
If you’ve seen my reviews of the 11 series, you’ll know how much I love them. Harrison and Briella have been dethroned as my favorite couple- shocked gasp!! Now it’s all Ethan and Cora.
Since this book is still a month away from release, use the time to read the 11 series. First novella is 11 Hours. Lots of very healthy k!nk 🐝 DSM discussions throughout all the books which is what I love so much. Clear communication which so often is missed in many romance books. The story was hot, the spice so good, and it’s easy to swoon over these two. A surprisingly funny and sweet story in the midst of all the seggual tension, with a healthy portion of self-reflection and growth. Cora was very easy to relate to, and probably will relate to many readers 📚.
Tropes and content warnings contained- taboo/forbidden romance, cheating, CNC, 🐝 DSM, D/s. Full list is on the first page of the book and clearly detailed out- which I LOVE and hope to see this trend continue!
This is a spinoff of the 11th Hour series that Octavia Jensen created, and follows the oldest Stag brother Ethan.
Ethan is a sex therapist, and from the first moment her met Cora, he felt attracted to her. However, being a professional, he tries his best to make sure that he helps Cora, as she's in his office to fix her marriage. But as Ethan continues to interact with Cora and as their relationship develop, he sees her less as someone that's half of a marriage, but instead as a woman who's looking to heal her self esteem and explore her sexuality. Ethan knows exactly what he's doing when he takes their relationship to the next level, and he wants Cora to know that she's the only one for him.
Cora married her high school boyfriend early, and as they change throughout the years, they become less like lovers and more like roommates. She tries to fix their marriage, but it seems like they lack passion, and that is also affecting their friendship as well. Cora is looking a more spice, more exploration, more love, and she finds that with Ethan. He allows her to be herself, to not be ashamed of her feelings, and to live her life the way she wants to instead of forcing herself into a marriage she doesn't want to be in anymore.
If you're not a fan of cheating, skip this one. All the characters know what they're doing, and while Cora comes clean right away, I'm sure there will be people who may discuss the emotional or physical aspect of cheating as a turn off. However, I still really enjoyed this story and thought it was well written.
