SPOILERS*** So this was the 3rd book in the Illicit Library Collection and man it did NOT disappoint! Claire and Mason are my favorite! Poor Claire has been through a lot in the progress of these 3 books. The beginning of the book was a little slow and then I got about halfway in and man it took off like a rocket! I couldn't put it down! Mason had to live out his worst nightmare...losing Claire. Only temporarily, but man my heart was racing hoping that he'd be able to get to her in time before something bad happened. The pearls Mason asked Claire to wear for their wedding had my toes curling. When Claire was taken, my heart stopped for Mason. He wont live without Claire. I am so happy that Mason was able to take over the city how he should have. And Claire was recovered and got to live out her life the way she loved. I loved this book more than the first 2 I think. Fabulous!

Fantastic ending to a fantastic series
This final installment of the series definitely Was superior to the other two. The amount of suspense and Action are stellar. I'm so incredibly happy that Claire and mason got their happily ever after, Which was definitely well deserved. You saw more of an emotional side to mason then in the previous books and the character development for Claire after everything that had happened Made her into such a strong woman. The ability for her to finally accept what mason does is a huge turning point in her development.

I've mentioned in previous reviews that I started this series with very low expectations. (Yes, I judged a book by it's cover! *gasp!*) The first book was surprisingly great, despite my premature assumptions and I was hooked on the series! This one kept my attention and was equally as great through all three books! I love a good anti-hero and Mason & Co. are just some of my favorites. Claire, Emma, and Mila were great "good girls". Just enough romance & spice to still be a love story and plenty of action to be a suspense thriller.
I can't wait to read James and Emma's story!

I have to say that Ms. Knight has done a fantastic job of concluding this trilogy. As she tied up everything so nicely!
I read Maybe Hiring and was hooked by Claire's very personable character. Then came Mason who l absolutely loved the way he made her feel. Making me have to know what else was in store for my favorite couple!!
All I can say is a job well done girl!! The perfect way to end this beautiful story that you have started! And the last book to add to my collection!

A really enjoyable ending to a fab Mafia Romance trilogy.
The characters really develop well and I pleasantly enjoyed the story and character arcs of the side characters too (and excited to learn that they’re getting their own books!).
Until this series id never read anything by this author before, but I will now check out her other books and keep an eye on any further new releases.

I enjoyed the ending of this trilogy a lot! I feel like everything was tied up with a neat little bow and I'm satisfied lol. I'm so glad Mason was so interesting to me that I decided to continue, despite hating the first one.

Easy ending
Decent conclusion. HEA and a some action. Mason and Claire are a great couple once they had better communication. Maybe we will get a story for Victor.

Book 1 was funny, a little dark but a perfect introduction in the Claire and Mason’s lives.
Book 2 delves deeper into the darkness, expanding on what we already new, meeting new characters, and learning who stood on which side.
Book 3, Beneath the Carnage, well if you thought you knew what would happen, you may be disappointed. There are so many moving pieces in the syndicate, we get to uncover the final picture. From an unexpected delivery on Christmas morning, a New Year’s celebration and a war there is a lot to unravel. Mason and Claire have their struggles, learning how to fit into each other’s lives, but they don’t lack in the spice department. Can they finally dethrone David Sharp and make the city a safer place?

Loved this. I thought this was a great conclusion to Mason and Claire's story and loved that everything fell into place.
I feel like Claire grew even more in this book and I loved the person that she became in the end. I also liked seeing Mason try and the slight changes in him that we saw in this third book. The pair of them have so much chemistry and despite their differences, they just work so well together. And don't get me started on the spice. Every scene between the two of them was incredibly hot.
I loved this ending. I loved seeing how everything came together and am excited to read more from this world in the future.
