A Mafia romance, age-gap romance, surprise baby, with steamy sex scenes and a jealous/possessive hero. Be prepared to be taken on a journey of Secrets and Lies.
Bren She was in a crate. A crate. Ready to be trafficked on demand. The sky blue, doe-eyed, blond girl, the epitome of innocence. How wrong was I? She’s been trained to please, to pleasure, and submit. Over my dead body, will I let anyone touch her. Anyone but me. She’s mine. Mine to protect. Mine to care for. Mine. But when truths come to light, they risk tearing us apart, and I’m left with the greatest decision of my life. Do I set her free?
Sky I grew up in a compound. I’m known as Red Seven. Until him… He gave me a name. A purpose. A life. Everything I’ve ever wanted and never knew I needed. Love. But when secrets and lies come into play, I’m left broken. Destroyed. I refuse to be the submissive I’ve been trained to be. I need to find my own path and finally be free, but can we find a way for him to keep me when there’s so much at stake?
WARNING: This book contains triggers. It has sensitive and explicit storylines such as: human trafficking, strong sexual violence, sexual scenes with dubious consent, graphic violence and strong language. It is recommended for readers aged eighteen and over.
Yet another romance fail where the hero pushes the heroine away and then goes and FUCKS ANOTHER WOMAN!!!!! Are you FUCKING. KIDDING. ME?!?! I was super psyched to read this when I read the blurb, but then to find out the hero didn’t love the heroine enough to keep his dick in his pants and slimes his way between the legs of another woman?!? This book can go fuck itself. This ISNT romance and I think we can DEMAND better in our heroes and demand that we get faithful heroes who have NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER in other females.
This was a good OTT JP dominate/sun vibe read. Better than the others before they were kinda flat. But what happens? I DNF at 83% bc the fucking author let’s this man FUCK SOMEONE ELSE AFTER HE PUSHES THE h AWAY “for her own good”. Then be bangs the woman he hates who he’s gotta get engaged to bc he is too much of a pussy to have committed to sky while he had her. THEN BRINGS SKY BACK to let her find out he’s engaged to this OW, and he has fucked her while they were separate (like 4 months and he was still obsessing over her?) I kept thinking he’s gonna say I haven’t fucked her. When sky asks him if he’s fucked the OW … he says… not since you’ve been back.. MOTHER FUCKER…. What!! This was the best of this series and it’s fucking ruineddddddd.
Man I highlighted all that good ass dirty talk and now I don’t even wanna finish this bitch. Ugh 😒🤬

I NEVER give 1⭐️ but here we are. I kept reading this hoping it would somehow get better but I lost respect for every single man instead. 😅😑
It felt like Bren completely forced his relationship with Sky. He didn’t give her any choices and then got upset when she stood up for herself. He pushed her away then gets fake engaged to a past fling AND sleeps with her. Yes he broke up with Sky before but he legit only did it because he thought she moved on after seeing her with a gay man. And this all after however many times he promised her forever. I don’t think he deserved her even a little bit. And forcing himself on her without consent while she was crying AND SAID NO sent me over the edge! Who even does that?! 100% rape. And she just takes him back because she has his child. Wow. End rant.

It took me WAY longer to write this review than it should have. Like over a week, because I had to stew on it a bit. I absolutely loved this book, but parts of it made me VERY uncomfortable. We've all been waiting a while for the alphahole Don of the family to fall, especially with all the crap he gave his brothers as each one of them as found their person, and BOY! Did Bren fall, lol. Epically. Majestically. The storyline was super interesting, fast paced, and I laughed out loud multiple times at all the family antics. There was a shit ton of super hot chemistry and smexy times between the Bren and Sky.. but I just had a hard time reconciling the nature of their relationship and the fact that she had been groomed. And not just that it had happened, but it rolled so quickly into their relationship and she's just so young. It probably didn't help that I wanted to unalive Bren a couple of times as well and think Sky deserved a HUGE grovel, lol. I did appreciate that fact that Bren, also, seemed to struggle with this as well. Overall I REALLY enjoyed reading it, glad it did, and I think it's a great addition to the series. Can't wait for the rest!!
I’ve read a couple other books from this series and they all have storylines with great potential that just are not executed well.
This one had quite a few problems. The female MC grew up in captivity being raised to be a sex slave and sold when she legal. She was “rescued” except she wasn’t, the dude just kept her lol. Dude she was brainwashed and her mental state was the equivalent to a child? She did not need a 40 year old man controlling her and stating he owns her every other line.
There’s a scene where he rapes her. It’s not dubious consent, she found out he got engaged to another woman and had been sleeping with her all while she was pregnant with his kid, so she broke up with him. Then he comes back to rape her and the entire time she’s screaming no and trying to push him away while he shoved her face into a mattress.
It was just a terrible relationship. It was forced bc of how she was raised and him talking about “owning” her every 3 sentences, her decisions weren’t her own. It seemed like the author was trying to write a book about someone buying an 18 year old sex slave from human trafficking and somehow make the male mc likable and like a hero. Except she failed bc yikes.
“I want to shove my tongue so far down her throat it comes out of her a**.”
I just wanna know what the author was thinking when she wrote this. Was she like “oh yhhh that sounds good” “that’s gonna get them creaming” 😩 “zaddy” 🐅 HONEYY go back to school and learn how to write properly and while you’re at it get some help. Im convinced some 12 or 13 year old wrote this cuz no way a grown woman could write a book SO BAD it made me want to jump off my roof Like…
“…Enjoying the sensation of getting the lower part of my sack licked, I lift my foot onto the bed to give her better access. I can feel the confidence oozing from her as she goes to town on my taint, shoving her nose right into my ball sack. ” No baby no 🔪😟
And the fact that this girl was trafficked and he didn’t put her in therapy, give her time to heal or ANYTHING. She has trauma issues that need attention…“I’m submitting to you, my owner.” !!???! She’s literally a child mentally from being abused in that compound. And the “tiny, innocent, submissive” no…it was disgusting. He found her in that crate where she was naked, traumatised, dirty and scared and what was mf first reaction?? A hard on. and he said it himself “I’m essentially masturbating to an innocent, trafficked girl.” The amount of times he referred to her as “young” “twice his age” “innocent” 🤢🤢🤢
He ain’t even hot or anything 😭like he was bland, pathetic, cringy, too old, crusty, disgusting, perverted, possessive (in the annoying way) and just ick. Nasty pedo vibes 🤢pretty ironic that he saves girls from these people and acts like a pedo himself.
DNF at 12% I’d like the 30 minutes I wasted here back please. Some people really gave this disgrace of a book five stars…
Bren left me gasping for air at times, reeling from the emotion and heart wrenching moments. With everything Sky has been through in her young life she deserves her forever, and she has found it in Bren, the man who rescued her and looked into her blue eyes and was immediately taken by her. This is a beautifully written story with the best amount of drama and devastating moments. Exceptional tale of love. That Happily Ever After was perfect 💕
Was going so strong. Then he had to f it all up. Went and got engaged to another woman after sending her away but only after taking her v card and making her fall in love with him, sleeps with said woman and proceeds to take the h back and sleeps with her telling her he loves her and everything after all she’s been through, just to have the other woman tell her she’s his mistress? Naahhhh

(DONT READ THE BOOK -10/10) Wtf did I just read? This book is a nightmare, actually, never mind, worse. I think I could have even come up with a better Wattpad plot if I were having a fever dream. This(BREN) man absolutely irks me. This will also be the book why I will never trust booktok ever again. Let’s just say I kept on reading and hoping it would get better. This book didn’t fail to disappoint me and leave me unsatisfied. OMG, what also really annoyed me was the fact that he kept on making a big deal about her being 18. Like she was 21 before, those 3 years of age age changeup don’t change the fact it’s a 20 YEAR GAP. YOU OLD SON OF A BIT€&.?! It would’ve been problematic either way. (Child predator fr) He shouldn’t have persued her in the first place. Because of obvious reasons: 1) she’s to young obviously 2) she just got out of trafficking(trauma) 3) SHE WAS DEPEDANT ON HIM FROM THE START AND HE DIDNT THINK OF HMM IDK???? TELLING HER SHE HAS A CHOICE IN ANYTHING. Him also justifying everything by saying he was doing it for her or his family . LIKE SIR?????? Sleeping with another woman wasn’t required, thanks.💁♀️ He’s also such a disgusting hypocrite he kept on saying he was disgusted is his uncel (rightfully so BURN IN HELL UNCLE🔥🔥🔥🔥) for forcing a girl to sleep with him. And the guy forcefully touching „ his girl“ at the club whoes fingers he later cut off too. But then later in the book he tries to „FORCELLY SLEEP“ WITH HER TOO and she keeps on saying no, no and NO and he doesn’t get the hint and still does it? LIKE SIR DO US A Favor AND SHOOT YOIRSELF. 🤙 Also who doesn’t use protection when sleeping with someone especially when you know the person is insanely young and naive and has come out of a traumatic experience?? Tell me why his first instinct was to sleep with her?Like that shouldn’t be your first priority? Her safety and well being should? He couldn’t even wait a day. 😰🤰 Bro, I full on belive he baby trapped her on purpose. (Because you have no business doing that especially considering protection doesn’t just prevent kids it also stops diseases. The highlight would’ve been if this man who&/&/re would’ve given her climidia.) It was also obvious that this book was written by a man because all women were made to seem helpless and submissive even after their husbands didn't treat them well. I was also surprised when I read that they were a mob family by the way the dad said 'fecking' and Bren( the 38-year-old main character ) talked in general; I assumed they were like farmers.(Irish farmers) Alternative suggestion for the book title: How I trapped a 18 year old into throwing away her life and dreams for me just for me to cheat on her. And her taking me back regardless, after forcing myself on her ofc. (And he’s 38 and she’s 18, 20 years of an age gap hello jail????)😟 The book cover also irked me like why was the guy so ugly that certainly ruined everything from the beginning like I hate when they do that. Just my opinion I’m just not into that cheating farmer mob trope.
Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Damn I am in love, people!
I loved this book so much.
The grittiness, the heartfelt confessions, the romance, teh steam, the characters!
Can you hear me screaming???
My first BJ ALPHA novel, and I am dying to read more already.
The story was just so on point, even if it deviated a little. The writing was swell, made my emotions swell too. The characters were so relatable. Loved them loads. The romance on point, steam delicious haha. And the problem solving, spectacular.
I loved the previous books by this author Cal, Con, and Finn The books were smart, sexy, and heartfelt With real issues And of course spicy scenes But I do not kbow why authors start sacrificing a good story for scenes after scenes of pure smut! I know that this is the all rage nowadays, but personally I do not read a book for the sole purpose of smut Imagine eating a steak with only one bite meat and 2 kilos of spice!
Spoilers ahead
My other issue is the idea of rewarding a playboy who says all the time that women are objects for him and he only sees them as "a hole to sink hi d**k in" with a pure virgin!!!
The other issue is this "love" or "lust" at first sight! I do love stories with this trope but this one was too much Sky was naked, dirty, injured, kidnapped and in a crate but he took ownership of her from one look!
And let's talk about Sky!! The trauma this girl went through should have left her with hours of therapy, but No! A good dicking is apparently all you need!
I DNFed this book at 60% For me, this is enough to review it
Am I looking forward for Oscar's book? No i am not
These books have been angsty, addicting, spicy, dramatic, action packed and plot thick! Each one rolls right into the next. Each book having its own couple with one of the O’Connell brothers! Each book is rightfully named after the brother it is focused on. However, each brother plays heavy in each book as well so you begin to get to know them from Book 1!
In this book, Sky, is so innocent and demur yet sexy and seductive. BJ plays these opposites so well within the story. It’s insane how you so easily fall in love with her and want to protect her yourself. And Bren is the right Don and man for the job. He’s so soft and caring from the very moment his eyes landed on her… yet his hard exterior still shows through with how he loves and protects her!!!
This book was so nail biting and edge of your seat good, to keep you reading!!! I cannot wait for Oscar’s story at the end of November.
I was look forward to reading and getting to know Bren . Sky was made perfect for Bren . I cried laugh got mad but more so turn on and hot. I think this book has become my favorite . I’m look forward to Oscar’s book!
This book is extra steamy and riveting! Bren and Sky’s are intriguing, intense and alluring characters with an engaging, gripping and passionate storyline. I couldn’t put it down!!! This alpha is dominant, dashing and delicious…OMG. A definite must read along with all the books in this series. Remarkably written 🙌🏻🎉🙌🏻
Iv never thought a book could make me feel so many different feelings. I don’t even know how many “omg’s”iv said through this book. 10/10 recommend. FOREVER!!!
Bren’s book starts off exactly how Finn’s book ended. Bren is determined not to follow in his brother’s footsteps as “being in love makes you weak”. When Bren and his brothers head to the warehouse and open an unexpected light crate, Bren finds a blue eyed girl that he instantly feels the need to protect. He becomes obsessed with Sky.
Holy. Mother. Of. Sweet. Heavenly. Jesus. I honestly do not know where to start. Since starting this series, I’ve loved Bren so I was excited to see what direction his story was going to go and HONESTLY, did not see any of this coming. BJ Alpha literally took every emotion of out me with this book!!! She blew me away!! The storyline in this book was absolutely amazing and it moved fast. Sky and Bren’s chemistry was chef’s kiss fan-fucking-tastic and the sex…holy god, it’s a sex life one dreams to have. I was hooked from the very beginning and had an extremely hard time putting this book down. Get ready, because this book has so many twists and turns, you’ll be sitting on the edge of your seat.
Do yourself a favour and go and read this series and get caught up before Bren comes out September 29!!!
Lastly: this book has to be one of the best reads of 2022 for me - hands down.
“But without him, I’d never be free because he has my heart, my body, my soul, my everything. He’s all I ever wanted and more, how could I possibly ask for anything else?”
~ Dom/sub age gap 20 yr ~ pushes h away for own good
⚠️ off page cheating and engagement ⚠️ non con/dub con
☑️ death and violence
My absolute least favorite of the series. In fact, I lost all respect for Bren, who in previous books was an extremely protective man.
1. Buddy, there’s not a huge difference between 18 and 21 to get so freaked out about. 2. His reason for cheating on her is LAME. He saw her hug another guy and had to “prove to himself he could get over her and move on”. Well looks like your cock worked just fine, so I’m not feeling the undying love here. You moved on NO PROBLEM and in just a matter of months too. The only saving grace is it wasn’t on page. 3. When Marianne, Brens new fiancé, showed up to confront Sky not ONCE did he reassure Sky that he wasn’t going through with the marriage. 3. Sky was doing good holding her own but then of course we had drama and all was forgiven and forgotten.
I needed MORE GROVELING. I agree with others this was a great book until the big flop at the end.
ALSO! I lost respect for Oscar because he played a huge role in what happened and it’s NEVER mentioned!! He pushed Bren to let Sky go and get engaged to Marianne. Oscars book was actually one of my favorites but I really wanted this addressed somewhat in his and it never is.

Bren finally got his missing piece. He's a force of nature alone but together with Sky it's like a head on collision. It's a little bit twisted and a whole lot steam. This made my heart sing. If you ever wanted to know what flying felt like, this is what it feels like. His love for Sky is so heart warming.
BJ Alpha has hit it out of the park once again!! Bren is such and amazing five star book adding to an amazing series. I absolutely love his obsessive and controlling behavior. Bren is such a dominate character who only ever cared about his family and the family business. He is so protective and entranced it's such a sweet story especially coming from his character leading into this book. He has always been the hard one and getting to see him grow and show what an amazing man he can be for the right woman was so great. As for Sky where do I even begin, she has been through so much in her life and to finally be able to come out on the other side of so many challanges is amazing!! Though this couple has their own problems to work through it is absolutely worth it❤️ I hope you all enjoy this book as much as I did. I can not wait to see what happens next!!
Wow. OMG. HOLY F. I dont know if I need cleansing, a cold shower or a weeks sleep. This book had me WEAK! Bren O'Connell is THE man. Top tier alpha possive protective and damn right dirty. Everything you want in a dark romance book boyfriend. If you love spice that makes you feel like you've done a weeks thigh workout and made all your toys dead from over use this is the book for you. The story was so Well done I feel like I lived it with them. I had tears of laughter and tears from frustration and angst I felt every emotion. Also BJ Alpha and her plot twists *mindblown* my favourite in the series so far for sure. I cannot wait to see what is to come with Oscar as these books seem to get better and better then make you wetter and wetter 🤣🤣🤣
OMG. Absolutely fantastic. I couldn’t put it down. I really think this is BJ’s best yet. I am so I’m love with Bren. There are some really laugh out loud moments as well as some dark ones. Bren and Sky are a couple that I hope I see more of in the future. It’s poignant, tough, gritty, sexy (very) just everything I want in a book. I received an ARC and this is an honest review. I loved it so much that I have pre-ordered it so it will go in my BJ Alpha collection. This is one author whose work I know will always amaze me. Just brilliant.
Summary. Bren is a dark romance mafia novel with a possessive MMC named Bren. Bren finds Sky (FMC) in a crate. She was supposed to be sent to her new owner but was instead sent to Brens warehouse. He instantly becomes possessive of her. This novel follows Bren and Sky as they fall in love. There’s some drama, another woman, and a surprise pregnancy. Tons of dark spice. Praise kink. Tons of TRIGGERS (make sure you look them up prior). Some violence.
Okay so now to my review. (I am so sorry if this sounds harsh, I just don’t want to hype up a book I didn’t enjoy). If you like dark porn and a morally gray MMC, this is definitely the book for you! I however, don’t. (I hate DNFing books so I stuck it out but ended up skimming over the last 50%)
What I liked: * the plot had so much potential. I would’ve liked to see more that helped the plot or even filler rather than sex scenes every single chapter.
What I didn’t like:
* The first part was filled with an unnecessary amount of f bombs. like I’ve never met anyone that says fuck that frequently. Some of the time, it didn’t even make sense. * WHY keep being so descriptive for the same things after you’ve already previously described them? I can’t count how many times dude described his CHOPPED HAIR. * Literally EVERYTHING in this book is about sex. He find her in a crate, sexy. She’s been trained from childhood to be a sex item, sexy. * It’s literally a porno with a subplot of a storyline. That’s all. * Dude is unrealistically possessive OUT OF NOWHERE. Literally he’s laughing at his brothers for being possessive and them maybe 2 pages later, he opens the crate and is like the birds from Finding Nemo?? He told her noT TO USE TAMPONS BC HE DIDN’T WANT UNNECESSARY ITEMS IN HER VAG. wtf * WHO LICKS THEIR LIPS THIS MUCH???? * Dude freaks out and feels guilty over her age and not the fact that she was supposed to be trafficked and he claimed her instead ???
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, I’d suggest starting with book one and not this one. I felt like there was probably some info in the previous books that would’ve helped me understand things in this book better.
Horrible book. Bren had no reeding qualities. While the previous brothers were redeemable, he wasn’t one of them. There will be spoilers as this has become a rant. I kept on waiting for the book to get better. I’m not comfortable with such huge age gaps (20 or 21 years) but I looked over it in hopes the book would be better. What really triggered me is the fact that he always wanted control, he fucked her even though he knew she was a victim, then he decided to push her away, on top of that as Angel said he could have been engaged, but he didn’t have to fuck another. Nothing wrong with a celibate hero, but nooo he was the only man she touched, while he fucked women before and now after her which is a complete turn off. Then he also raped her when she said no because he continued to lie and hide his fiancé from her. Of course at the end it was a HEA, which was so rushed and instead of holding him accountable for his actions, then blamed his fiancé. Also I felt like there were so many unsolved questions, like what happened to her sister (I think it’s Nico’s wife) and Sebastian and poor Sam. Also no reason to kill her best friend. It was just a really disappointing book over all and I have read some bad books before. However, I had high hopes for this after the first three and while there was some good scenes it was mainly from the rest of the family. I also continued this in hopes of finding out about the villians from Finn’s book, but they never even spoke about it. Just not a good read.
Things pick up from the last book where the O'Conners find out there's a woman being trafficked through their warehouse. They discover Sky or Red Seven who was raised on a compound and groomed to become a sex slave for her new owner. After she's rescued, she bonds with Bren and is determined to make him keep her. Bren's instantly attracted and becomes OTT possessive but he's freaked out because yeah... lusting after a trafficked girl is not a good look.
I struggled with this one. While some of the sex scenes with Sky and Bren was hot, the fact that Sky was mainly behaving according to her programming made me uncomfortable. She'd been groomed since childhood and I wish there'd been more focus on helping her adjust to the outside world before Bren started dicking her down at every opportunity. Bren fucked up a lot (warning; cheating) and hurt Sky repeatedly and she deserved more grovel than she got. The story was fast paced since we didn't get a lot of questions answered about the compound. Way too much repetition (how many times are they going to say 'forever'?, I lost count of how many times somebody licked their lips). Every book I've always loved how every family dinner resulted in one of them diving across the table to kill the other and this book was no different. My darling Reese was in this story and I'm dying for his book. Looking forward to Oscar's story. Hope it's better than Bren's.
Oh Bren, do you eve realize what you need or only intrested on what you think you want. For a man a clearly having no intent to fall in love, get close a women and only enjoying his bachelor days you fell in so deep no rescue team could save you.
This man gives Sky every reason to love him all while wanting to slap him in anger for his alpha behavior. Only to give Sky the most primal, dirty and rough sexual experiences of her life while definitely enjoying his dominance/ possitive nature. You want steamy sex scenes that make you grab an ice bucket or cold drink to cool down read it now.
You want family drama that makes you laugh your sides hurt, men who love their family, children but can be vulnerable read the series.
Do you need, want or crave a possessive man to make you feel loved, cared and treasured Bren is that man. Just dive into the book and dont look up. Do not attempt to read while working, please do not try to read in public unless your ready for people to ask you what you are reading because you dont have a good pocker face and cant help but gasp, grin, laught out loud or throw your phone/ book at the wall. ENJOY THE DIVE into the deep.
At first, I loved him… but after he sent her away to have a “normal” life he used sex to try & get over her which is something I hate in books & after she returned he kept a secret “arranged engagement” from her & after it was exposed she was furious & refused to obey his commands, so he tried to fuck her into submission just not my cup of tea.

𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: Each and every one of BJ Alpha's books are so unique in their own way. I honestly wouldn't be able to choose my favourite brother from this series because they are all amazing in their own way. The plot and backstory to these characters is incredible, an I kinda feel like I want more, so I'll definitely be reading the novellas and extended epilogues to this series. Now, onto Oscar's book...
