In Martian Song Book 1, Martin tells a very different Mars story, but with all the scientific rigor readers have come to expect. In this book, everything in The War of the Worlds happened as H.G. Wells described—but Wells didn't understand the story behind the story. Now you can learn the tragic truth.
Martin L. Shoemaker has dual careers as a software programmer and as an acclaimed, award-winning short story writer. He’s also the author of two novels, The Last Dance and The Last Campaign, installments in the Near Earth Mysteries science fiction series.
I thoroughly recommend this book. I received it as part of a kickstarter and it was worth it. It's charming and has a wonderful flow to it. Characters are well realized and interesting. The plot was concocted in response to H.G. Wells "War of the Worlds" and so it is a historical piece but it's also a good science fictional story, positing Martians landing in America and asking what would the Martians think they'd done?
