After spending the majority of my life trapped and abused in a True Mate cult, I have absolutely no desire to ever be with an alpha again. I just want to take care of my son and finish my degree in history, preferably while leaving my house as little as possible to manage my OCD.

But after two years of studying completely online, a new professor insists on meeting all of his students face to face. And that’s when my ultimate nightmare comes true: the new professor is my fated mate.

So I run.

It’s impossible that there’s an alpha out there who can accept the level of scarring and trauma that’s plagued my life, not to mention my struggles with OCD and the fact that I have a kid. But Dr. Simon Rawley doesn’t seem eager to possess me, and he’s not running away… Is it possible that true love could actually happen for me?

A Team A.L.P.H.A. and Alphabits spin-off series

Knot Alone is the third book in a series created by Crista Crown and Susi Hawke. We've loved our soldiers and our mafiosos and all the good they've done in the world, but what happens after the saving is over and the healing begins? As always, you can expect to find naughty, knotty scenes of steamy passion, and all the fluffy mpreg feels and crazy antics you’d look for from Crista Crown.

While previous books were written together, Susi Hawke sadly passed away in 2022. This book was written solely by Crista Crown.

I read this a while ago, and while my memory is like Dory's, I remember very fondly this book. 🥰

It was not typical "my mate, growl you're mine" Shifter book. It actually had a lot of depth, trauma, healing, and understanding. The story was engaging. The alpha did his best by his omega and viceversa, when the omega fought his fears to be with him.

It was a slow burn, with a cute kid and a lovely group of friends. I enjoyed it a lot, and I'll keep reading this series. 🥰🥰

Hello? Umm... Brett is mated to Chance... NOT Chase! Just sayin'!

How do these things happen from one book to the next? 🤦‍♀️🤬😭

Well, well, well... 39% in, and all of a sudden CHANCE is back... go figure! *snort* LOL!!!

UGH! 43% and we are back to CHASE... grrr

Name changes aside, this was probably my favorite story of this series!

In a bad place

Hunter is in a bad place, not physically but in his own mind. He is trapped by the past. Simon is there to help him find the future they both deserve.

Your real true mate is so patient, but can you overcome your OCD to love him in return?

This is such a special book. Yes, it covers past abuse and OCD. It does so with the utmost respect. These are integral to the story, but do not overwhelm it. This story is sweet, subtle, charming. I quickly became caught up in the lives of Simon and Hunter. It is a long, slow, burn, that eventually flares into an inferno. Ooh, and has the most adorable toddler! I also loved the cameo by our favorite mafia don. HEA is assured. I guarantee you will love this book. Get. It. Now!

Shifter romance, on its head

It just occurred to me that most shifter romances have a "broken" alpha that a caring partner gets to fix with their love. In this series, it's the omegas that have trauma, and they need a softer, sweeter kind of "alpha". An alpha who wants to love and protect, but doesn't need to be the boss of anyone.

I loved that this couple had a more slow burn romance. I liked that the conflict was resolved close to the end of the book. This is a geeky romance with no violence in the story. The conflict is all about the anxiety and OCD that was a product of previous trauma. I look forward to the next book!

Hunter and Simon

I loved it; yet again lovely book, well written and covering some very delicate subjects, MPREG, past abuse, trauma, a cult and OCD. So many of our favourite characters pop in and out. What more could we ask for in a shifter book with a slow burn and a HEA?

Not only did Christa handle the OCD delicately and sympathetically, but she also had to do this after a traumatic year. We all lost a wonderful author/friend when Susi Hawke died this year (2022), but Christa lost her writing partner and close friend and still managed to turn out a well-written book to continue their joint series. Well done, Christa, it can't have been easy.

Knot Again

We knew this was going to be a tougher book given the trauma Hunter had sustained. His and Simon’s slow story to happiness was sweet, at times heart breaking and cute as we’ve come to expect from this world. Although very sad that Susi has passed I think she would have been thrilled with their story. Crista knocked it out of the park.
One slight thing that drove me a little crazy was the interchanging name of Chance.

Absolutely amazing book!!

Crista gives us another absolutely amazing book in the Knotted Paths series!! The story of Hunter and Simon is full of the emotions and humour we have come to expect from these authors. Beautifully written with complex characters and plot twists that keep you turning pages throughout. I loved reading this story and highly recommend it! Don't miss out on this book!!

Brave Hunter

I thought that Hunter was really brave. He had gone through a lot of crap, and he was still standing. He had worked out how to get around his issues so that he can meet his goals.

Simon is very understanding and does what he can to help Hunter.

Bonus scenes missing?

There is a link for bonus scenes that doesn’t work, there have been a few books now where they don’t. Is there another way to find them?
