Etruscan Shifters #1
The Wolf's Kiss
She’s mine. I don’t care that she’s human. She’s my mate.
I’m lucani, a wolf shifter, and my king’s assassin. I never thought I would find a mate, and I wasn’t sure I’d want her if I did. My life is dangerous. I wouldn’t want to put my mate in the crosshairs.
But from the first moment I meet Tam, I want her with a burning passion that won’t subside. I’ll keep her safe from the nightmares that haunt her. I’ll kill anyone who tries to hurt her. And I’ll claim her, body and soul.
There are men who think they can take her from me. I’ll tear them apart before they do.
But can I tie her to me with fiery lust? Or will I have to let her go and hope like hell that she returns to me?
The Wolf's Kiss is an instalove, standalone wolf shifter romance with a possessive, protective Alpha hero, a damaged fated mate, and a paranormal world unlike any other.

Needs work - read on KU
I love shifter romances. This one is OK. It has some things I really like and some things I don't. I'm not overly fond of using made up magical terms, or maybe real terms most people don't k own or use. I understand that more in books that aren't set in reality at all. However, this book is set in the real world to some degree. The real human world exists but the magical species live in communities to themselves. They use technology. Actually, cell phones and computers aren't really mentioned, but they have modern conveniences. I prefer those types of worlds. But my preferences aren't why I wouldn't give this more stars.
The plot is fine other than it is labeled as "fated" mates and that isn't used anywhere in the book. In general, the story needed to be beefed up. The whole book needs a good edit. There is one chapter that switches POV from one short paragraph to the next. And there are a fair number of grammatical errors. Lots of incorrect personal pronouns. Several typos.
I didn't feel a connection to the characters. Honestly, if this was from a writer with more history, I wouldn't give it 3 stars. I'm going to try one more book and see if the author improved.

it was...different
This book had some of the weirdest writing errors that some good editing would catch. It made it very hard to read. Each chapter is marked with who is telling the story but at least one chapter switched in the middle, no warning, no indication that it was switching. Punctuation was used but not all the time and not correctly. One dialogue ended with .../“ Just odd... then there were weird phrases like “I forced herself” mixing the first person/third person in the same sentence. All this combined made it hard to stay in the story and was quite distracting. I’m not going to continue this series, nor am I going to continue on with this author. The story was ok but unfinished and the next book is on different characters so I don’t know if it would even be finished. It had multiple words and phrases used that weren’t in English and I’m not sure if they were made up or in another language. There was no explanation in the story. It just wasn’t something I want to read more of.

Confusing AF
Completely Pass on this book.
Note to Author: please put terms and definitions in the beginning of the book so I at least don’t feel like I’m going crazy trying to understand what eat phrase means. I means who looks in the back first?
Could have been a cute story but it just seemed so force by the author making the FMC appear sex crazed after experiencing something so traumatic. Doesn’t necessarily makes sense. Nothing wrong with a strong character but it didn’t seem built..

Man, this book needs to go through a proofreader and editor... It's obvious that it was originally written in 3rd person, then changed to first person with switching POVs. But it wasn't done well. I found multiple mistakes like, "I forced herself..." many other punctuation and grammar mistakes. Yet not so bad I DNFed.
Won't be reading any more from this series or author if I can help it (or remember to check).
Read on Kindle.

Interesting premise of the genre. Somewhat confusing with the names of all the different factions but good story. Characters felt believable and real (hahaha in a shifter story). Would read again.

Different
This is definitely a different type of shifter story. Different background and different rules. There's A mystery here that will carry through the series but a romance shines for this story.

This was a good read
This was a good read. The pace was smooth the characters were realistic and the editing was pretty good. These are thing I look for because it makes it more enjoyable to read.

Heavy on the Sex — Light on the Story
I get that “sex sells” but when there is literally a sex scene every 5th page (kindle iPhone app wise) it becomes too much for me to even feel comfortable reading.

this book is in bad need of some editing...
the POV switches partway through one section early on, the words himself and herself are used instead of my in places.
the girl's last name changes from McMillan to mcdonnell, and no that's not when she's trying to keep her name a secret.

wolf
An interesting take on wolf history. A complex tangle of relationships. A fated mate for two very stubborn people or magical beings.
