When his manager and band mates insisted he needed some R&R, Loch Mackenzie, lead singer of successful rock band The Oath, reluctantly agreed. He wanted to feel like himself again. He wanted not to remember his dead sister’s body every time he closed his eyes. He did not want to spend a month of his summer in a small bed and breakfast in the south. That changed when he saw the sweet chaos of Hailey Prescott sprawled on her kitchen floor.
Hailey Prescott deliberately built her life around her business. She had no intention of falling in love and having a family. Her two best friends were all the family she needed. But she liked being around people, so running a Bed and Breakfast made perfect sense. Everyone she met would quickly exit her life with no fuss. Her life was perfect. She was happy. Until Loch Mackenzie scooped her up off the floor and started bulldozing through her barriers.
Finding Love is a story about healing from trauma and learning how to love after a great loss. There is a difference between being alive and living. To love, one must live.
Lacey Furr is an author of smart and heartfelt Contemporary Fiction books. She writes captivating, character driven stories full of wounded, flawed, lovable, and relatable characters. Her books will make you laugh, cry, and feel like you know the characters personally. Lacey believes that every story is a love story. She strives to deliver characters you can't get enough of in settings that you want to escape into.
Lacey lives in Chattanooga with her husband, daughter, and Golden Doodle. When she isn’t writing or reading, she enjoys playing on the lake and relaxing with friends.
Lacey also only posts her 4 and 5 star reads (unless an author requests a full review) not because she doesn't read books rated lower but because she understands not every book was written for every reader.
“There is a difference between being alive and living. To love, one must live.” How true this is. Loss and grief are painful things. Broken souls are even harder to put back together. But together they might just make it. Loch’s personal life is a mess and that is creeping in to his professional life so when told to take time he agrees. He needs time to grieve, to heal, to find himself again. Hailey can never take it back and that and the accident have left her reeling. It was easy to relate to the characters and especially Hailey as I have watched my husband for years not being able to speak to his father after arguing before he died. Never have I seen two people need all the love and support that Loch and Hailey need. I wanted to wrap them up and take away their pain. The lovely romance story is raw and an emotional rollercoaster and definitely pulled on my heartstrings. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I look forward to reading more.
Loch is the lead singer for the rock band The Oath but if you think he’s living the carefree life of a rockstar you would be mistaken. When his personal life starts affecting his stage life with the band his manager sets him up at a Bread and Breakfast for some R&R. In his personal life he blames himself for his sister’s death and it’s eating him up alive.
Hailey has faced tragedy as well when she had harsh words with her parents who were on their way to her graduation and then died on their way there. The guilt has been overwhelming. Now she runs a bed and breakfast with only two friends in her life that she cares for.
Can these two broken souls find their way to love while mending their hearts? This is a first-time author for me and I’m hoping there is more on The Oath yet to come.
Finding Love was tragically beautiful. It’s the beauty of romance/healing born out of a tragedy. The author wrote a story that pulls at the heartstrings. About two characters who have lost people close to them they love. They just happen to be at different stages of the healing process. Yet through that process came love. Loch hasn’t been the same since his sister died. Needing to get his life back on track his band manager contacts Hailey, a B&B owner, to give him some time away. Some time to find himself. Not only did he start to find himself again, but so much more. Hailey didn’t know what to expect. What she knew was her high profile guest rented out her entire B&B for 4 weeks. An opportunity she couldn’t pass up. However, being around Loch she saw a lot of herself. The part of herself that suffered when she lost her parents and her best friend helped her pick up the pieces. So she vows to do the same thing for him. What neither one of them expected was this connection pulling them together. With so many uncertainties because of their separate lives, how they could weather the storm. Was this forever? Or savor the moment while it lasts? He doesn’t want to let go but is it plausible? She knows he’s leaving yet giving him her heart, knowing it’s going to be shattered. What will happen? Do they survive the differences in their lives? So many questions and all of which do get answered. However to find those answers you need to jump in head first. Take the ride the author takes the reader on. Enjoy it for all that it’s worth. The happiness, sadness, love, laughter, all of it is worth it. I look forward to digging more into this series, I think you could too!
What happens when rockstar Loch Mackenzie, goes to a small town bed and breakfast to get some R&R? He meets Hailey, the owner of the B&B, and both of their worlds are completely changed. This story was the perfect combination of love and healing. The characters were full of life.
this was SUCH a cute story! I loved the aesthetic of the bed & breakfast & characters. I could picture everything in my mind. I definitely preferred when it was just the two of them at the bnb, but I love a good found family moment too!
I rated it 4/5 stars simply because I do love a little more excitement, we got some toward the end which was great, but not all books are meant to get your heart racing. I could’ve used a liiittle more spice too, but again that’s personal preference. if you like some spice but not overbearing, this is definitely for you!!!
Hailey and Loch are two lost and broken people trying to put themselves together. Hailey lost her parents and ultimately the man she thought was the love of her life when he left her. Now she put all of her efforts into running a B&B where she can make the connections without the attachment. Loch is the lead singer of one of the biggest bands in the world but the recent loss of his sister has made him start to lose his passion. His manager and band mates suggest that he take some time off and get some much needed R&R. When he meets Hailey she is crawling on her floor after a mishap with a vase. Neither of them is looking for love but the sparks and chemistry are undeniable. Will Loch and Hailey be able to heal themselves as well as each other? So, I do love a good rock star romance and this story gives you everything you could want. I can't wait to see what happens with the rest of the band.
Loch is a hot mess after the words written by his sister. He’s sad, depressed and unable to write music. His band members are concerned and make him take time off to rest somewhere quiet and peaceful. Hailey is a beautifully broken young woman. She lives alone running her B&B in Chattanooga, but she’s excited to close down her B&B for a famous rockstar to rest and relax for a few weeks. When these two messed up people meet there’s an instant attraction. She’s beautiful and he’s gorgeous, when they get together it’s hot. Like my kindle couldn’t handle the heat. They’re sweet and romantic, which I really like. It has a great ending, I’m giving this book five stars and highly recommend it.
Loch's agent books him a stay at a B&B when it is obvious that he needs a break. He is grieving the loss of his sister. His manager lets the owner of the B&B, Hailey, know that he needs privacy as he recovers.
Hailey has put her heart and soul into her B&B as she works through her own traumatic past. This has left no time for finding love. However, when a rockstar comes to her establishment, and soothes her out of a panic attack, the two realize that there is a spark of something there.
They both are dealing with trauma and this creates a bond built on helping each other heal. Add in a best friend, her best friend's husband, and some bandmates...and there are enough twists and turns to keep things exciting.
I enjoyed the growth and healing of both characters. All the secondary characters kept things interesting. This is the first book that I have read from this author...but it won't be the last.
I’ve never read anything by Lacey Furr before Finding Love and let me tell you, I was hooked from the very first chapter! Loch and Hailey had undeniable chemistry from the very start and it was great to see how both of their stories unfolded. I was really excited to see there was a playlist at the very beginning of the book, something I often get really excited about when I stumble upon it. I liked that the author alternated chapters between both Loch and Hailey, this really adds depth to the characters in my option. Finding Love was as emotional and well written as it was fun and entertaining. I can’t speak enough about how much I loved the characters. I definitely look forward to looking into the Oath series a bit deeper.
Where do I start with this book? It is amazing. I loved the characters. The sadness and healing was amazing and you felt part of the story. I was so investjngnin finishing this book. Loved it all from start to finish- I was sad when I got to the end. Thank you to the author and want to say it would make a lovely film
This book touched so close to home for me right now. We have two main characters Hailey and Loch, both who are dealing with a huge tragic loss of their own. The emotions that this made me feel. They are so very worth it. Please if you want to feel give this a story a try.
Wow......how is my heart going to recover from this story....I am not sure. Finding Love is beautiful but yet tragic....love and loss. Two souls coming together in a chance encounter with different tragic circumstances. This story tug my heartstrings hard...but it was a wonderful story.
Loch Mackenzie is known for being the lead singer of The Oath. When his manager believes it is best for a break, especially reeling from the loss of his sister as it is getting to much to bare, Loch is booked into a B&B that is owned by Hailey Prescott. Loch comes in with a force that Hailey was not ready for....but as she gets to know Loch, her walls around her heart start to waiver. What Loch and Hailey did not realize is each of their loss of a love one can break your heart....but will they learn and find their way to healing and also love that they both deserve.
I highly recommend this story...wow....this story will stay with me for a long time.
I love stories that have instant love, things are never easy even then. I know they are just books but it takes talent to get someone’s attention and keep it to the end of the book. I love to read about what could happen to someone and wish it was me. I enjoy all of Lacey’s stories.

Rockstar finds love after tragic loss. B&B owner learns to love again. Both have heavy pain from the past but learn to work through it together. Some spice, some loss, all deep love.
Also love to see cameos from other books by this author!
This book has it all. Finding love after coming to grips with the pains of loss, rejection and denial.
Both Hailey and Loch know loss, both know pain and both know how to block emotions so that feeling doesn’t hurt so bad. Both want to be whole again, but both know to become whole means coming face to face with all they’ve buried deep within.
Loch may be a superstar on stage singing all the right notes, but offstage he’s a lost soul who can’t get it together. And right now his offstage character is taking over onstage. He blames himself for his sister’s death, thus his rockstar band suffers too. Why? Because lead singer Lock McKenzie has lost all focus and desire. He’s numb and can’t sleep. Vivid nightmares will do that to you.
Hailey’s last words to her parents weren’t ones she wanted to remember. They died in a car crash on route to her graduation. Her guilt was unmeasurable. Her fiancé couldn’t deal with it and left her. She started a B&B catering to her guests’ desires and needs. That way her own issues could be put on the back burner.
Needing to regroup, Loch gets out of New York and LA. His manager arranges a stay away from paparazzi and crazy fans. He’s sends Lock to Hailey’s B&B. And so the journey begins. The road to healing, to happiness, to freedom, is curvy and narrow but it’s not a deadend. Enjoy the ride.
OBSERVATIONS:
No matter how wealthy, now famous, how successful you are, there’s always a past and that past influences us. Yes, the past is there but the choices we make become our present and our future. Hailey and Lock learned that lesson well. As you read, you’ll see the road not taken…. and the path they followed to get through all the pain and suffering. At the fork in the road, they chose wisely.
There’s no patent for grief. It’s different for everyone. Lock and Hailey’s story is fiction but there’s a lot of real truth in those pages.
Each band member seems to have their own flaws and stories. I look forward to reading about them… and Jo too. Although, after reading this book, others will have a tough act to follow!
Hope to know more about Alex and the label that controlled The Oath (name of Loch’s band). And no way is Jessica getting off that easy…. betcha!

This one starts out and you feel like you are lost in that cardshop’s channel and this is going to be another rich guy, small town girl romance but somewhere along the way you realize that it is more than that. It is a story of second chances at life, love, friendship, and maybe even a little redemption. But with enough steam to keep you flipping those pages.
Hailey’s entire world crashes around her. Her parents are killed in an accident, she is grieving, but she doesn’t bounce back fast enough for the man she is engaged to and thinks she loves, so he leaves Hailey in the care of her best friend. As Hailey slowly puts the pieces of her life back together, she buys a dilapidated B&B. Rehabbing the B&B becomes Hailey’s lifeline.
Loch needs a break. He is the lead singer of one of the biggest bands in the world. He just lost his sister in a tragedy he is not ready to talk about yet. Loch hasn’t been himself since his sister died. Now, he just needs some space, some time to get his head together before all the pressure his manager and label are putting on him to write the next greatest hit. When Loch rents out Hailey’s B&B for some rest, he never expects to meet the one person that is the balm to his soul.
As Hailey and Loch grow closer, all the red flags from Hailey’s relationship with her ex haunt her. She is just not ready to love. Loch falls hard. He starts feeling and hearing the music again. When Loch brings the rest of the group up to Hailey’s to work before going on tour, Hailey brefriends each member. When Hailey joins the guys on the road for part of the tour, those friendships and her relationship with Loch only deepen. But Hailey must face her fears about love and relationships before she and Loch implode.
If rockstars are your thang, you wanna jump in on this series. It is beautiful and rich. It is deep and romantic. It is steamy but not too much. Jump in with this group and take The Oath!!
Hailey has accepted a four week booking at her Bed and Breakfast for a famous rockstar. Loch is the lead singer for the famous band, Oath. HIs manager, Alex, tells Hailey that Loch is there to heal from a traumatic event and requires extreme privacy. Hailey cuts her hand and has a panic attack from the sight of the blood. Loch finds her and helps her care for the wound. He finds Hailey attractive and feels an intense connection to her.
Hailey sets up a picnic and invites Loch to stargaze in the evening. She shares a trauma she has experienced and how she got through it. Loch opens up and confides in her, sharing his emotional pain from losing his sister. They spend several nights together comforting each other until they move into an intimate relationship. While Loch is open with his feelings, Hailey keeps her feelings hidden, believing he will leave soon.
Lacey Furr builds suspense with the inner turmoil both characters experience. They share devastating grief and guilt. Loch and Jonas are perfect gentlemen. Jonas, who is Hailey’s best friend’s fiance, threatens Loch’s like a big brother would. I found the moment humorous “F*ck with her and, well, surprises are better than threats, no?” after he expresses he likes Loch’s music. Hailey’s entire life revolves around her business that she does all the work alone.
The band members from Oath added to twists in the unpredictable plot and brought a lively dynamic to Loch and Hailey’s budding relationship. The flexibility of the band members and distinct personalities made them a vital part of the story.
I rate Finding Love a solid 5 stars and I look forward to reading the sequels that Lacey Furr creates for the members of Oath
Finding love was a good book. Both main characters know what it feels like to lose someone close to them. Loch is in a band and has been having problems writing any new music since the devastating loss of his sister. His manager decides to rent out an entire B&B to give Loch privacy and time to grieve which will hopefully get him back where he was before tragically losing his sister. Hailey has one guest at her B&B and devotes all her time to him. They become friendly and spend some afternoons together. She knows how it feels to lose someone close to her and she tries to help him with his grief. The two of them start to have a mutual attraction to eachother which cannot be avoided. Right away I thought they acted much closer then two complete strangers but, this is a book so anything is possible. Will Loch and Hailey be able to be together or is this just a stepping stone in Loch’s healing? Hailey knows she will end up broken hearted when Loch leaves but she decides to take a chance anyway and enjoy the time they have. I thought this was a very emotional read with some heat and healing. After everything that happens will Loch and Hailey remain friends, lovers or just people who once knew eachother. I loved how the book ended. Just perfect! I love the friendships between the characters. Nola is a perfect best friend for Hailey. Besties always do things together and this was no different.
This is the first book in The Oath Series. This is the first book I have read by this author but I am definitely going to be reading more. This is was such a beautiful moving romance. The author deals with topics such as grief and how that can affect someone's life in a variety of ways creating a huge impact that some people struggle to work through. Both of our main characters have suffered losses but together they help each other work through it and find love that they didn't even know they wanted or needed.
Hailey Prescott has made her life her business. As the owner of a B&B she loves the fact that people come into her life and leave without any fuss or heartache. She has never thought of finding Love or a family as the business is her life. And then Loch Mackenzie comes into her life. Hailey can see and feel the sadness that Loch carries with him and plans to help him work through his pain the way she has done in the past.
Loch Mackenzie is a superstar but after the death of his sister he is struggling to move forward as the grief is all consuming. His agent books him into Hailey's B&B to rest and recover. He can't explain it but there is something about Hailey that makes him feel alive again. Neither of them was expecting to find love but sometimes things happen for a reason. Could this be fate putting Loch with Hailey and giving him a reason to live again?
Finding Love (The Oath Series) by Lacey Furr . This is a great rock n roll romance. Hailey is still mourning the loss of her parents in a tragic accident and her boyfriend thinks she is taking too much time to "get over it". When she has the chance to buy a run down B&B she jumps on it and puts all her energy into fixing it up and reopening it. Loch is a rock star that has lost his mojo since his sister passed away and he's closed himself off to everyone and can't write music. His agent decides he needs to rent a whole B&B just for Loch so that he can grieve properly and hopefully start creating music again. When Hailey only has the one guest she of course pay all her attention to him and he realizes Hailey is the only person he feels comfortable with since his loss. Maybe because she is going thru her own grief. Loch falls head over heels and invites the whole band over to start creating music. As their relationship progresses will Hailey's past destroy everything they have created? Will Hailey be able to leave the B&B to go with Loch on tour. Such a good love story with a tragic beginning.
An enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance which kept me captivated throughout. Loch Mackenzie, lead singer of ‘The Oath’, a successful rock band, is in need of some R&R following the death of his sister. He reluctantly goes to spend a month at a small B&B, but then meets Hailey Prescott. Hailey is definitely not looking for love, she’s happy as she is running her business and having her two best friends near by. The first time Loch sees Hailey she is sprawled on her kitchen floor and once he picks her up and ensures she’s ok he is instantly intrigued by her. Hailey is confused by her attraction to the rockstar especially as he starts knocking down all her barriers. As the couple give into their connection and learn to love they also start to heal from loss. This is a heartwarming and at times heartbreaking romance which took me on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading it. I loved the main characters and Loch and Hailey’s chemistry really came across in the narrative. I look forward to the next book in the series.
Lacey Furr’s Finding Love follows Hailey, a healed woman running her own bed and breakfast, and Lock, famous musician and a broken man trying his best to heal. Hailey helps Loch in this process but she comes to realise he can help her just as much. At the beginning I thought it tells rather than shows a lot, and a lot happens quickly, there’s also a lot of information dumps towards the end but I was eager to know what was going to happen between the main characters and the information wasn’t really relevant. I loved Loch immediately, I loved the found family aspect, I loved how the intimate scenes were written, and I cried at the ending. My favourite character was Loch and my least favourite character was Alex. I recommend this book because he fell first AND harder, found family vibes, beautiful epilogue. Where is my Loch Mackenzie? “You are every love song ever written.” & ‘I was learning that it was these small moments in life that were meant to be remembered.’
This story was a great read. There is loss, love, friends, healing, romance and some suspense about what's going to happen between Loch and Hailey. The author wrote this book in such a way that had me glued to the pages and it pulled at my heartstrings throughout the entire story. Loch's manager books him a getaway at a B&B to give him some space and time to heal from the tragic loss of his sister. Loch hasn't been the same since she passed away and he isn't able to write music. Hailey, the owner of the B&B is no stranger to loss. Both of these characters need healing in many ways. They start spending time together and it's a beautiful thing but what happens when Loch's stay ends? Loch and Hailey have friends that are there for them through their ups and downs. I enjoyed all the characters in this book. I enjoyed experiencing a myriad of emotions while reading this book. I recommend this book.
The first book in The Oath Series, Finding Love, caught me by complete surprise. This is the first book I've read by Lacey Furr but it will definitely not be the last. I thought Finding Love was going to be your typical rock star story, but was wonderfully surprised when it turned into so much more! Loch and Hailey's instant chemistry was mesmerizing, but there was so much more to their story. There is heartbreak, mental health struggles, healing, drama, romance, and so much more! I like that Lacey Furr was not afraid to touch on some sensitive topics in this book. She tackled them with relative ease and sensitivity. The other members of Loch's band, The Oath, also played a major role in this story, which I liked. Overall, the world building was amazing (I felt like I was jumping into the cool water or picnicking on the rocks) and the characters were so realistically flawed, believable, and lovable. I can't wait to read more from The Oath Series as well as more by Lacey Furr.
What a introduction to the band. I loved all of the guys from the beginning and I felt myself immediately needing to take care of Loch and help him heal. His pain spoke to me in a way that I didn't expect at all and I'm not sure why it hit me the way it did. Thankfully he had Hailey there to help him when he needed it most.
Hailey who is no stranger to pain but was further down the path than Loch is amazing. She remembered being where he was and helped him start to move forward instead of being stuck in that pain loop.
The main characters were great but I may have fallen in love with Nola and Jonas just a little bit, especially Nola. She reminded me of my best friend who has supported me during some difficult times in my life over the last 36 years and that may be why I loved her as much did.
I have added the rest of this series to my TBR and can't wait to meet up with everyone again.
Hailey and Loch both have experienced loss and the constant pain that stays with you. But to come out of it and move on, you need to risk yourself again, to open up feelings that have been clamped tightly down. And you need to be able to trust the one who begins to lift you up out of that pain.
Loch Mackenzie is lead singer of the rock band The Oath whose sister’s death has greatly impacted his life. He is haunted by his memories. At the B&B he went to for a break, he met Hailey Prescott whose parents died in a car crash when they were driving to her graduation. She blames herself for their death and cannot get past it. The B&B let her interact with people short-term. She thought that was enough. Understanding loss, they try to heal each other and in the process begin to heal themselves.
This book covers the journey Hailey and Loch both take to move from loss and pain to healing and happiness. Hailey and Loch both know loss, pain, and both emotional barriers. Their journey will cause them to face everything they have buried deep within themselves. Hailey can't take back the words she said to her parents before they died in a car crash heading to her graduation. She lost her fiancé, because he couldn't take it anymore and he left. She opened a bed and breakfast to cater to others and not face her problems. Loch is blaming himself for the death of his sister. Everytime he closes his eyes, there she is. His music manager tells him to take a break and sends him to Hailey's B&B. There they meet and start the journey of healing.
Finding Love is the first book in The Oath Series by Lacey Furr. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Furr- but I can guarantee that after reading this book, it certainly won’t be the last. Gah! This strummed my heartstrings so hard. Beautifully broken characters who learned to live, and love, again after so much tragedy. Neither were expecting to find love, and healing- she was holed-up in her B & B, going through the motions of living. His life was beginning to spiral out of control from his own tragedy. Fate intervened, ensuring these two crossed paths, when Loch turns up at her B & B for some much-needed downtime to rest and recuperate. What ensues makes for a heart- tugging read. Well worth the read. Happy Reading…
This is the first book in The Oath Series as well as the first I’ve read by this author. It was a wonderful contemporary romance that I recommend picking up if you’re looking for an intriguing read. It took me a little while to find my reading groove, but once I did, I found myself unable to put it down. Our main characters, Loch and Hailey, have a lovely and vulnerable connection. I really enjoyed getting to experience the back and forth through the dual points of view as it helps you get a little bit deeper into the character’s mind. I feel like this is more on the deeper side of the genre because it isn’t just superficial love. The emotions are strong, and there is a bit of spice, so get ready to hunker down and lose a few hours in this world.
