This series is getting better with each volume I read. I love learning more about these characters. The end of this volume introduces a main character who I'm really curious about. If you're looking for a fun samurai fantasy with beautiful art, pick this series up!

Pierwszy tom charakteryzował się dosyć intensywnym wprowadzeniem czytelnika w wykreowany przez autorkę orientalny świat. Nie inaczej jest w przypadku recenzowanego albumu. Pierwsze strony to odsłonięcie kilku scenariuszowych elementów, na których ma być budowana cała opowieść. Musashi dowiaduje się bowiem, jak można zjednoczyć kraj. Od tego momentu staje się to jego życiowym celem. Chłopak jest zdeterminowany, aby pokonać wszystkich kishinów i stać się w ten sposób najsilniejszym wojownikiem, który wprowadzi kraj w zupełnie nową epokę. Jego nieodłącznym towarzyszem, który postanowił go wspomóc w podróży, zostaje oczywiście Kojiro. Wraz z opuszczeniem murów miasta, w którym do tej pory żyli, zaczyna się ich wielka przygoda. Podróż, która początkowo oboje mocno ekscytuje. Szybko jednak zaczynają się oni przekonywać o tym, że postawione przed sobą zadanie nie będzie łatwe i będzie wymagać od nich naprawdę wielu poświęceń i wielkiej determinacji. Autorka zabiera więc nas tu w piękną, widowiskową i ekscytującą przygodę, w której bohaterowie odkrywają świat, jego złożone tajemnice i próbują walczyć z potężnymi przeciwnikami.
Sama konstrukcja historii może nie wydawać się nadmiernie skomplikowana. Jest to bowiem połączenie elementów tytułowego orientu (w tym przypadku kultury/historii Japonii) z dość standardowym arturiańskim motywem. W żadnym jednak przypadku nie jest to wada pozycji. Wręcz przeciwnie, jak na razie prezentuje się to bardzo dobrze i już teraz (przy drugim tomie) zaczynają pojawiać się zwiastuny późniejszego skomplikowania opowieści (podobnie jak było to w przypadku Magi, nawiązania do religii,polityki itp.).
Nie można również narzekać na samych bohaterów, którzy prezentują się dość ciekawie. Czasem tylko niektóre zachowania Musashiego mogą wydawać się dosyć infantylne. Ma to jednak za zadanie podkreślić mocniej humorystyczne fragmenty historii. Dużym plusem jest pojawienie się tutaj nowej żeńskiej bohaterki, która prezentuje się naprawdę intrygująco i powinna ona odgrywać znaczącą rolę w całej opowieści.

Je remercie les Éditions pika pour cette lecture. Avec ce deuxième tome, les choses sérieuses commencent. On se retrouve dans l’action et on découvre de nouveaux personnages.
En effet, dans le dernier tome Musashi et Kojiro s’étaient fait prendre leur premier trophée de chasse en tant que clan de Bushi par un autre clan. En même temps, ils n’auraient sans doute pas pu battre l’Oni.
Suite à cela, ils souhaitent partir, pour accomplir le rêve. C’est ainsi qu’ils vont pour la première fois de leur vie, sortir en dehors de leur ville. Sauf que cela va s’avérer moins simple qu’ils le pensent.
En plus, ils se rendent compte qu’ils vont avoir besoin d’autres personnes dans leur clan s’ils veulent combattre sans souci les Oni. Mais les clans Bushi ne sont pas aussi sympathiques que Musashi aurait pu se l’imaginer. En réalité, les méchants d’un côté et les gentils de l’autre, ce n’est qu’un mythe. La réalité, c’est qu’il y a des personnes tyranniques, même au sein des clans Bushi.
Ce deuxième tome est vraiment intéressant. Premièrement, on en apprend un peu plus sur la mission des Bushi envers les Oni. Ensuite, nos deux compagnons sortent enfin de leur village natal, pour commencer leur aventure.
Ensuite, découvrir d’autre clan Bushi est intéressant. Cela permet de voir comment ils fonctionnent. Par compte, c’est tellement dommage de ne pas avoir la suite sous les mains, car la fin de ce tome annonçait pas mal d’action pour celui à venir ! 😉
En bref, un deuxième tome qui nous happe encore plus profondément dans l’histoire que le premier. On en apprend un peu plus. Les personnages principaux partent enfin à l’aventure. L’action y est présente. Un bon Shonen, qui m’a fait passer un agréable moment ! 🙂

I'm of two minds about this. On the one hand, I'm interested, on the other hand, I feel like it's not a great at Magi. Although I wonder if that might just be because I liked Magi better. I'll wait and see how the next few volumes play out.

Since the story is finally properly kicking off, I can feel myself getting more invested into it. Liked the 2nd volume already way more and we got a possible new character joining the main cast?

Looking back on the start of Orient has made me much fonder of the main trio. Musashi, Kojiro, and Tsugumi have grown so much since these first volumes. It's like looking at an old family scrapbook. This has only served to make me excited to see them grow even more in the future!
