#TheTerrorProf by Manix Abrera II 🤘

This books is a compilation of comic strips depicting a handful of characters, mostly professors (one terror prof in particular), her colleagues and students na palaging stressed sa kaniya. Baka 'di lang stressed, traumatized na.

What I loved the most about this and with comics in general are the tiny details that add more, for me to the story or just the message of that short story.

As a college prof, this is more than relatable for me. I'm not a terror prof kaya I'm sure I'm far from the characters' shenanigans here pero aminado akong naranasan ko 'to sa ibang prof o kaya naiisip ko din gawin pero di tinuloy. Hahaha.

The art itself is unique and shows a chaotic feeling. The black and white strips added a classical feel yet with modern experience and humor.

The fact na walang names ang characters is odd yet effective, as it defies identification. Kaw bahala kung kanino mo irerelate. Haha.

Medyo intellectual madalas ang jokes with the use of jargons and academe life, particularly college.

There are some jokes about religion, mental health, and other sensitive topics so warning lang sa mga makakabasa.

Overall, na-enjoy ko naman the most part. Looking forward to read more books. Balita ko, Sir Manix din artist ng Amapola Graphic Novel ni Sir Ricky Lee. Hoping to buy (at makapagpa-sign na) next #MIBF.

The author has been producing his daily newspaper strip, Kikomachine Komix, for more than two decades. It has transitioned from a campus life social commentary with college students to regular social commentary with an older cast that has grown along with times.

The readers has grown with the times as well. When they once identified with the original youthful cast, they now see themselves in the supporting characters, especially the crone who can only be called the Terror Prof.

The Terror Prof has appeared intermittently through the years in the strip. The character has grown more popular as to merit her own book. This is a compilation of those strips, and it is a genius idea, making those stories more accessible to those who have fell to the sway of the Terror Prof.
