His life seemed perfect and he was seen as an important pillar of the community, but, really, was he? The more Stella and Carrie dig into his personal life, they find it was like he had two different personalities, one that was perfect and a second that was totally flawed. He was a ruthless womanizer who went to strip clubs, went on binge drinking with some of his friends, and used drugs, and it was within the latter environment that they would find the culprit responsible for the murder. But before they do so they'll work through many leads that uncover interesting material but are dead ends to solve the case. One good thing that comes out of this case, Carrie and Stella discover that they can work well as a team!
As a member of the author's ARC team, I downloaded a free copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

I really enjoyed this one. I liked the development in the relationship between Stella and Carrie. She finally opened up a bit. I’m still waiting to find out more about her dad but the ending did foreshadow some of that. The case was interesting, as was the attempt on Stella’s life. The past keeps coming up which makes an intriguing story.

I have read this series from book one, book five is by far my favorite so far. You really got to see Stella come into her own and become more confident. I highly recommend this author and series

Does not use the F word. I don’t remember hearing any curse words. Great book and looking forward to the next book in the series. Listened at 1.75 speed.
