All his life, Gray, the second-born son of Nathaniel Scott, aka the Kingmaker, lived in the shadow of a mysterious, unnamed older brother his father was very proud of. Gaining his father’s affection and approval became Gray’s sole objective as he gave up his dreams of getting married and having a family.
When Nathaniel finally announces the identity of his firstborn son, Gray confronts him and isolates himself from the rest of the family, relying on his childhood friend, Rourke O’Bannon, for advice and comfort. Rourke, who secretly lusts for Gray, but is struggling to accept his own sexuality, is content with the situation.
Until the competition appears, as the handsome Sloan O’Brannigan, the complete opposite of Rourke. But when the man looks into Gray’s soul and offers to help him sort his feelings out, Rourke sees his position as confidante threatened, and is ready to go to great extent to keep it.
Gray must choose: His elegant childhood friend, who carefully chooses his words and is proud of his achievements as a company owner—or the blunt Irishman and mafia boss? If he doesn’t make the right choice, Gray could lose more than just his heart.
H.M. Wolfe lives with the coolest Mom in the Universe and a fat, gay, submissive tomcat. She loves writing stories about boys and men who love, cherish, respect and protect other boys and men.
Mega talented author H.M. Wolfe has added another fantastic, emotionally charged, gripping, gritty, amazing, wonderful, grab-you-by-the-throat, beautiful, sexy, keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat, and totally awesome jewel to her crown of magnificent books. This one gave me a MAJOR book hangover because I just could not put it down. I would definitely recommend getting your hands on this fabulous story ASAP!
The story was packed with a whirlwind of emotions, dangerous situations and a hurtful betrayal by an unscrupulous one that was called and considered best friend. We learn some valuable lessons about family, friends and love. We see how greed tarnished one of the most beautiful connection one can make during life, how appearances can be deceiving and how true love and feelings are really selfless. One that had his mind poisoned, and manipulated his all life is separated by his loving family and a tragedy opens his eyes to the harsh reality, brings to him the love of his life and also makes him realise who are the ones that values and appreciate him as well as the ones who wants to hurt him. I loved the support the family and true friends offered when it counted, how the evil ones were punished and the sweet moments that followed. I loved the courtship, the declarations and the joyous celebrations that were full of love, promises and happiness. I also loved the sweet and adoring moments the kids offered and how they enlightened the story as well how it made us smile. The sweet and heart warming moments the couples offered were extremely endearing, as well as the love they radiate. It was a beautiful story and I'm looking forward to see what happens next.
The author had me right from the first here with the hints about Gray's older brother and all the secretive family dynamics going on. Then, when secrets start to come out and Gray needs a friend to rely on there is Rourke just as he's always been. Rourke is a more complicated character than he first appears, with secrets of his own but he's sure about his feelings for Gray. What happens to this situation, however, when Sloan shows up - Mr. Perfect in many ways and sets his sights on Gray. Decisions will need to be made, some people will turn out to be not at all what they initially appear and Wolfe will have you reading until long into the night to finish this and find out how things sort themselves out.
love the way this author writes her stories.this book is about a man Gray and he has always wanted to be the best but his dad loved his oldest son more or so Gray presumes that and when Gray cuts off his family but kept his bestfriend close Rourke he doesn"t realize what is going to happen in his future with said friend but when he is helped that night in his apartment fom being raped by gangster's that was set up by Rourke and his bad friends but Sloan saved him because he was sent by Gray's dad to see and help Gray but alot of things come out after that who is good and who bad,,,i read this book for this author for my honest opinion
This is a MAGNIFICENT Book. Gray is the son destined to step up when his Father the Kingmaker steps down. Over worked but determined to not fail when he is called on. Sloan is Ian's close friend and family consultant. After Gray's attack, Sloan knew he could help him. Falling in love was not in the plans. Fate has a funny way of proving us wrong. This Book touches you deep inside with all the feelings of family. Siblings must stick together and communicate. Not an easy task, no family is alike, no situation is the same. Hope and Love springs eternal but love can conquer all. Live in peace, but love with understanding, patience and heart. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THE KINGMAKER'S SONS SERIES!!!!!!!!!!
I loved this book. When Nathaniel Scott reveals who his first born son is Gray isolates himself. Gray only has his friend Rourke O’Bannon to rely on for comfort and advice. Gray loves Rourke. Rourke can't accept his own sexuality and can't fully embrace a relationship with Gray. When Sloan O’Brannigan saves Gray from a awful situation that takes Gray's sight. Gray and Sloan fall in love. Gray finally sees the mask Rourke wears slip and that he may not have Gray's best interest at heart. Sloan sees the true monster Rourke is but will he be to late to save Gray from Rourke's evil plans.
Gray is the fourth book in The Kingmaker’s Sons series. Secrets start to come out. I felt so bad for Gray when his father reveals who his first-born son was. He shut down and hides himself away. He feels he needs his friend and he’s always been in love with Rourke. But them Sloan shows up and he wants Gray. The attack about broke my heart, so many emotions tore through me reading this. Gray is raw and gritty and so freaking emotional read! I was left with a severe book hangover. Overall, a fantastic addition to this series. Well written with a pacing that sucked me right in.
Loved Gray. This author really packs a punch with her books. Family, especially children are number one in her books. They must always be loved and protected. Rourke and Gray are friends but when Sloane comes into the picture, that’s when things get complicated. Hurt, betrayal and love are finally in the picture. Cannot wait to see what happens next.
Absolutely brilliant loved all the Kingmakers stories and I loved Grays storyline. Another great hit for HM Wolfe. Highly recommended. I don’t do spoilers read the books you won’t be disappointed
