Entertaining horror listening 🎵🎶
This kindle e-book novella is from my Kindle Unlimited book 5 of 6.
A number of will written short stories of horror haunting each story is different with lots of action and misdirection leading to each conclusion.
I would recommend this series and author to readers of haunting horror stories. 2024.

The latest volume of "Horror Quickies" features a new selection of thrilling short tales that record more extraordinary encounters with vicious killers, scary ghosts, impossible monsters, as well as objects and locations that by rights shouldn’t exist…but they do!
As always, there is something for everyone who enjoys thrills and chills, as various horror tropes are reimagined in creative ways, from killer clowns, to vampires hiding in plain sight, to unimaginably terrible creatures that lurk underground. One curiosity is an exploration of the Jack the Ripper case in which the killer gets the chance to speak for himself and shed light on the murders from his own perspective.
Even though several stories focus on scary and unusual creatures, each monster is different and comes with its own specific lore in the world they respectively inhabit. It’d be very difficult to rank them based on how terrifying they are, since they all evoke fear, hopelessness and wonder in their unique ways.
The first-person narratives are engaging, and there is always just enough description to solidify the background before terror ensues. While there are some clearly visible references from classic horror, the spin on each tale is unique, and it’s impossible to know where each bite-sized chunk of terror will take you.
Several stories stand out in particular for their inventiveness and execution:
"The Red Light District", with its clever blend of the supernatural with some pulpy noir undertones.
"A Little Fun", which is a stripped-down rendition of a really kickass horror trope that will never get old.
"The Airplane", because it’s short and incisive, mixing humor and terror to explore the twisted side of human nature in a recipe Hudgins has perfected.

A well done, edge-of-your-seat thrill ride. From beginning to end. A decent nod to Stephen King with the story about the fog/mist. And a creative nod to John Carpenter, about the Antarctic. All the short stories are just long enough to give you a slight taste of this author's talent. You definitely do not want to read this book alone at night in your house or dwelling. You will jump at everything that goes bump in the night. I look forward to more from this author.

I always look forward to this author's books. He takes horror to a whole new level . The Ripper stories are fascinating. Who would have thought that accepting keys from a stranger or getting into the wrong cab can land you into a soup? It can be dangerous to be sympathetic to a little girl or explore strange caves.

Good read
Pretty good read in the series and find it getting better. Still something is lacking from volume one, can't quite put my finger on it. However I'm still waiting for the magic of the first volume to hit me again.

Read this who series
Got to say part 5 was very good. If you want a quick read this series is for you. I actually love novella anthologies. Very good reading. 5 anthologies out of 5

These were not as good as the other stories I’ve read by this author. Some ended abruptly and some didn’t make a lot of sense to me
