Arizona Ranger Sam Burrack goes gun-to-gun with a vicious assassin in this gripping Ralph Cotton western.
Sam Burrack has spent a full winter healing up after being shot in the back, and he's still not completely ready for action. But he still has to see a man about a horse...and a lot more. The horse is his own stallion. The man is Memphis Beck, a member of the notorious Hole-in-the-Wall gang, and the man who saved his life. Beck's been holding on to the mount as a favor to Burrack, and now it's time for the ranger to collect his stallion.
But another man has his own interest in Hole-in-the-Wall: a twisted, cold-blooded assassin known as the Dutchman. Soon the lawman and the lawless will find their fates intertwined in a pitched battle that neither may survive.
Another adventure or should I say that about our Arizona Ranger Sam Burrack. Who is recovering from a ambush where he was back shoot. His recovering was done in a bordello taken care of by the Madame. Lots of owlhoots heading for the Hole in The Wall, Wyoming where outlaws would hold up to regroup, plan other robberies or just know that they can relax without fearing raids by the law. The railroad owners had issued warrants for the capture of these gangs. The names these gang leaders were known by instilled fear such as Minnesota Fred Martin, Warren Memphis Beck, Conning Glick, The Dutchman aka The Assassin, Whispering Phil Lindsey, Herbert Cowboy Shoe, Bream Hook Nose Cleaver just some of the many names adopted by these owlhoots. Our Sam Burrack is back on trail to get his stallion, Black Pot, who was stolen by Angelo Sabott who stole the horse from Warren Memphis Beck. There's a lot of action both physical and mental. Your going to enjoy this adventure, so why don't we all sit down with a nice cool glass of sweet iced tea, and RIDE with "The Ranger."
Barkeep! That last western tasted so good, I reckon I’ll have another! Arizona Ranger Sam Burrack is heading to the Red Wall area to reclaim the stallion he left with Memphis Beck after being shot in the back. The Red Wall and Hole-In-the-Wall is a well-known area full of outlaws and killers. Along the trail Burrack’s path crosses with man hunter Conning Glick, known as The Dutchman, also known for his proclivity with poisons. Several parties of outlaws are added to the story each carrying out their own personal brand of mayhem and each being exposed to Burrack and his brand of justice. This is an interesting and complex story with great characters and plenty of action.
Great "tough guys" western pocket book; lawmen against outlaws; but particularly hard to imagine a bounty hunter cutting off heads to collect the bounty. Nice ending.
